Crescent Pecan Pie Bars

Crescent Pecan Pie Bars

Crescent Pecan Pie Bars- a sugary, crunchy pecan filling with a few chocolate chips on top of a buttery crescent roll crust. These holiday bars are fabulously easy to make. Instead of having a lot of gooey filling like a typical pecan pie, the filling is a thin layer and the bars are almost like a nut brittle. Buttery and slightly chewy. It makes a great recipe shortcut for everything from lasagna to breakfast casseroles. To make the crust for this recipe, simply unroll a can of crescent dough (use a crescent sheet or a regular can and press on the perforations to seal) in a 9×13-inch pan and press the edges up the sides of the pan just a little. Pre-Bake The Crust Bake the crust in a 375 degree oven for 5 minutes. This is just to partially cook the crust. Make Pecan Pie Filling While the crust is baking, mix together the sugar, corn syrup, melted butter, vanilla, and an egg in a medium bowl. Then stir in the pecans and chocolate chips. Bake Once assembled these easy pecan pie bars take just 18 to 22 minutes in the oven. How To Serve Crescent Pecan Pie Bars Once the bars have cooled some, cut into squares. Depending on how large you cut them, you should get 9 to 16 bars. Serve warm or at room temperature with a scoop of vanilla ice cream or a dollop of whipped cream. Variations Add a tablespoon of bourbon to the filling. Use walnuts in place of pecans. Use toffee bits in place of chocolate chips. Add a half teaspoon of almond extract. Storage Store at room temperature in an airtight container for 4 days. Kamala says the country is ready to ‘turn the page’ in the book entitled ‘Everything is Trump’s Fault’

WASHINGTON, D.C. – In her first-ever interview since being selected as the Democratic presidential nominee for the 2024 election, Kamala Harris outlined her vision for America’s future, declaring that it’s time for the country to embrace a “new way forward” and to “turn the page” in the national bestseller titled Everything is Trump’s Fault. Appearing on a special edition of Dana Bash on CNN, Harris spoke with enthusiasm about the direction she plans to take the nation, emphasizing the importance of innovation and fresh ideas while acknowledging the need to continue the narrative that has served her party so well over the past few years. “Americans are ready for change,” Harris said with a confident smile. “They want to move forward, and that means we must turn the page on the past and start a new chapter. But rest assured, that new chapter will still have plenty of room to remind everyone that everything is, in fact, Trump’s fault.” The interview was filled with the kind of optimism that has become Harris’s trademark. She stressed the importance of unity and healing, although she made it clear that unity would require one small concession from the other side: a complete and total acceptance of her platform and worldview. “We need to be unburdened by what has been,” she said, before quickly adding, “unless, of course, what has been is to remind people of all the ways Trump messed everything up. That’s a history lesson we need to be burdened by.” When asked about her specific plans for the economy, healthcare, and foreign policy, Harris pivoted smoothly, reminding viewers that the true focus of her campaign is not so much about detailed policy proposals as it is about restoring the nation’s soul—or, as she put it, “returning to a time when we didn’t have to constantly talk about Trump, except when we need to blame him for everything.” Harris also unveiled her new campaign slogan: “A New Way Forward with People Who Have Run Everything the 12 of the Last 16 Years But Everything is Trump’s Fault.” The slogan, she believes, encapsulates the spirit of her campaign—a mix of forward-thinking progress with a healthy dose of backward-looking blame. The nominee wrapped up the interview by reiterating her commitment to a better future, one where Americans can once again have confidence in their leaders, provided those leaders are not affiliated with Trump or any of his allies. As the 2024 race heats up, Harris is expected to double down on her strategy of looking to the future while ensuring that the past—particularly the parts involving Trump—remains a central talking point. “Turning the page doesn’t mean we forget the previous chapters,” she said, her voice filled with hope. “It just means we keep adding footnotes to remind everyone who’s really responsible for the mess we’re in. And spoiler alert: It’s still Trump.” The post Kamala says the country is ready to ‘turn the page’ in the book entitled ‘Everything is Trump’s Fault’ appeared first on Genesius Times.

Secrets of the Sunken Bridge: Unveiling Early Human Settlements

A new study shows humans arrived in the western Mediterranean much earlier than previously believed. Led by a University of South Florid geologist, a team of researchers examined a submerged 25-foot bridge to tackle a long-lasting archaeological controversy: When humans settled on the islands in the western Mediterranean. Their findings narrow a historical gap between [...]

WATCH: Michael Keaton Shows Up As Beetlejuice To Interview Himself On ‘Hot Ones’

Ahead of Beetlejuice 2’s release in September, Michael Keaton shows up as his character Beetlejuice in a parody of Sean Evans’ Hot Ones show. In the skit renamed Not Ones, Beetlejuice is seen chugging a bottle of hot sauce before proceeding to answer questions from Keaton. Keaton broke the ice by welcoming Beetlejuice, who told him to hurry as he had a spa appointment next. The mischievous character continued to eat from the hot platter, which came with a Skullville scale rather than the usual Scoville one. Beetlejuice’s inspiration Youtube video screenshot Beetlejuice revealed that his inspirations across generations include the likes of 19th-century French emperor Napoleon, who she claims was a good pal, the mad Caligula, and surprisingly Justin Bieber. He admitted that Caligula was indeed a wild man as he was known for excessive taxation of the Romans during his reign. RELATED: Michael Keaton Assures Fans That His ‘Beetlejuice 2’ Character Will Not Be Politically Correct Some minutes in, Keaton asks his character if he is enjoying the spicy platter and is met with a shocking response as Beetlejuice says the ribs remind him of a guy he ate in Seattle. The unhinged pinstripe-wearing creature then farts fire and asks, “Who the hell are you?” as a fed-up Keaton leaves the stage. Youtube video screenshot Fans react to ‘Hot Ones’ parody with Beetlejuice The Not Ones parody sketch has received over 700,000 views on YouTube and thousands of comments so far as fans share their thoughts. “I would not be surprised if Beetlejuice would use hot sauce as eye drops,” someone said, while another simply commended Keaton for getting into and out of character so seamlessly. Youtube video screenshot The excitement for the Beetlejuice sequel was obvious in the comments, and the original Hot Ones show even got some encouragement from the perspective of viewers. “Hot Ones has become SO huge that production companies like WB are actually using it in marketing campaigns That’s just CRAZY AWESOME,” a fan gushed.
