"I don't have any explanation for how I went one hour into the future and then returned to my timeline. If the cop hadn't confirmed the time, I would have blamed a faulty phone."An anonymous listener wrote into Darkness Radio to tell of a weird experience he had:“A few years back I got a jury duty notice in the mail. As soon as I saw it, I knew what it was so I opened it to check the day and time I was to appear. Having gone to jury duty before in my town, I already knew where it was going to be so all I cared about was the time and date. I didn't even check the location. I quickly memorized the time and date. It was 12 noon. The date is not significant. It was a Wednesday.The days passed and I had that date and time in the back of my head. I began preparing for it, telling my boss I needed the day off, etc. Tuesday night came around and I was prepared. Wednesday morning, I was counting the minutes until I had to leave. 11:25 AM I had to leave at that time because it was a 20-minute ride to the courthouse. I should be there from about 11:45 to 11:50 AM. 11:25 came around and I headed out the door in my old Mustang.Halfway there I tried calling my wife but I couldn't get a signal. About 20 minutes later, I got to the courthouse where I had previously had jury duty and no one was there. It was eerily quiet as if everyone had gone to lunch or something. I was shocked. Did I miss jury duty? I checked around. Checked the time on my phone and it said 12:50 PM. I stood there staring at my phone in disbelief. How is it 12:50? I thought to myself. I was in shock. I left the courthouse stunned. I headed to my old car and sat in the car. I checked the time on the radio's clock. 12:53 PM. I turned the key and clicked. Nothing. The car didn't start. What the...? I said. I got out and popped the hood to see if I could rig something. Just then a cop pulled up next to me to ask me if I needed help. I was still kind of stunned and said, Yeah. So he said, I'll just come out and see what I can do. I just have to go punch in. It's almost 1:00 right? I was shocked that the cop acknowledged that it was almost 1:00 PM. I checked my phone again and, yes, it was almost 1:00. So he went into the station to punch in and I kept fiddling with my car for a while.As he's heading back out, when I go to start my car, the engine roars to life. He waves at me, noting my car has started and I leave. Halfway home I call my wife and the call actually goes through. I tell her about the bizarre series of events I just went through and I ask her, What time is it? She says It's 12:20, hon. I checked my phone and yes indeed, it was 12:20 noon. I wanted to tell a story of what I experienced in the vicinity of Rio Arriba County, Abiquiu /Tierra Azul, New Mexico. I was 15 at the time so this was in 2005. My cousin and I were the only ones together.There was a car in front of us. All of a sudden, I saw this black figure. It looked like trash flying in the wind, but then as it got closer, it started to look like a runner with its hands in front of it—flat, like runners when they are running. But it didn't look like a man. The car in front swerved, and in the next seconds, everything slowed down.The creature in front of the car to the right of the shoulder started coming at our car and it jumped when it did that, it spread its arms, and these wings came out. About the size of the car, width-wise from driver to passenger door. Its face was freaky because it wasn't human at all and had beady yellow eyes, and 2 fangs (but now that I look back it reminds me of the Mothman. It didn't have ears and its face looked almost blank besides eyes, and fangs). The fangs looked like 3-6 inches sticking out of its mouth. Its chest had a white V. Its fur was something similar to a deer like grayish white and brown (or an owl). The legs were weird and looked like goat legs (I now know they are called hocks). The height was like 4-5 feet tall. The wings looked like they came out of its sides (rib cage) like a glider, but they extended longer than the arms and looked like bat wings, except they were big!My aunt told me that she thinks my cousin, who witnessed the being with me, saw it again a few years ago.This is her story as told to me. My cousin was checking on here double-wide because it was not connected to the grid. She told my aunt that she had a weird feeling, so she stayed in her van. It literally came out of nowhere and her youngest daughter started screaming and pulling on her headrest from behind her and said "It's going to get us" There by her trailer she said she saw two yellow eyes peaking around a tree looking at them both, then hiding again. The legend of the 'Man-Wolf' of Marshall, Texas, and its deadly activity continues to be told to whoever is interested in learning about the local beast. The following information was forwarded to me:"As a young child, my sweet old great, great granny Lee, from Homer, Louisiana, used to tell me about the wolf man of Marshall, Texas. She said she had seen the beast herself as it attacked a neighbor's pig. She swore on an old family Bible that what she saw was not man nor a known beast. She said it was a man-wolf and could be nothing more than that. This beast man-wolf, my dear old Granny Lee often described as people actually seeing what was a half-human, half-wolf. It has been noted and told that they are over 6 feet tall when they stand. They have large yellow/orange eyes, long white sharp teeth, and a blunt long snout.His face is always not quite a man's and not quite a wolf. Though some report they are covered with a full coat of hair and others tell of the coat being sparse and patchy.Though reports sometimes differ the common factors are that the werewolf's face was always seemingly flat, blunt, and yet pointed and very grotesquely long.The Man-Wolf of not so long ago was often encountered along Stagecoach Road. This of course is one of the most haunted hotspots in all of Marshall. Others say it was Dead Woman's Road or Sedberry Street as it is now known.This Were-beast, animal or as some call it a Dogman, was known for slaying a sheep, or a cow where it stood in the blink of an eye. They say the thousands of chickens they kill could feed the whole state of Texas for a year. And don't forget the many stories of them killing possibly a man, woman, or child or two for good measure.The old stories around here you will hear most often are of poor old Ms. Ethel Briggs.She was a lonely widow woman whose husband and young son were reportedly outright killed by the man-wolf.Ethel's husband used to raise all the normal things it took to survive the daily life of the time. Then one day he found that something had broken into his many chicken pens and killed his livestock or carried them away. He then found chewed-up pieces showing real signs that they were being killed and eaten. He set out to trap and kill what he thought was a large coyote or mountain lion. Ethel's husband knew what he had to do. So he went out that night and as the story goes never returned.They found his foot with the toes chewed off that next morning lying by the front door and found his left arm missing three fingers and half a thumb near the old barn. His head was by the creek missing its nose, ears, and tongue. And of course, his lips were chewed off and the area of his cheeks showed deep large punctures and tooth gouge marks.And the very next night her youngest boy was taken before her eyes. He was the red-headed one, who set off looking with his mother for the rest of his dad's chewed-up remains to bury on that cold February day.That very next morning he was found, at least a large part of his upper torso just a near five miles away. The Sheriff was called in to come and investigate the death.Poor Miss Ethel said she had seen the beast when the Town Sheriff came to call. And that she had buried only the three large pieces of her husband's carcass behind the great field he used to till. She went on to say that she and her 4 other kids had found them scattered around the property.She said what she saw was not that of a man or just a mangy rabies-infected dog. It was more than just very large and it walked like a man with a strange apparent slight limp or jake leg. She also stated and noted it ran off on all fours with her husband's left leg in its mouth." A couple living, in northern British Columbia, encounter a tall pale humanoid as they are pulling out of their driveway. There was a later incident as well, so the being is most likely living nearby.I recently came across the following account. I forwarded a follow-up request to the witness:"This happened to me and my boyfriend about two years ago. I decided to post it because it haunts me to this very day, and I still have nightmares about it.It was about 2 am one night in September 2018. We live about 25 minutes out of town in northern British Columbia, Canada, and our house is surrounded by the woods. Because it's such a dead road, usually we would pull out of the driveway and then turn on our lights. Why? Just a weird habit I suppose. We both would do it.So I'm behind the wheel. I pull out to go left down the road and turn on the high beams. Then we see it.We see this weird, hairless, pale humanoid creature crouching in the middle of the road. It almost seemed to be glowing, but that was probably because it was such a pale white and I hadn't turned off my high beams. It whipped its head at us as if it was surprised by our lights turning on. After a second, it shambles across the rest of the road in jerky movements and down into the ditch, which was about 3 feet deep. But that's not it. We both watched as it went down into the ditch, and turned around to face us. And it stood up on its back legs, exactly like a human but not quite.It stood over 5 feet higher than the ditch (taller than our car at the time). And remember the ditch is already 3 feet deep, so this creature was over 7 feet tall. It looked aggressive, hunched at the shoulders and leaning forward slightly as if to look at the car. And I swear I made eye contact with it. No. It was not watching us drive by. It wasn't looking at the car. It was looking through the window, and it was looking right at me! Whatever it was, it was intelligent and knew that the car wasn't moving itself. It knew we were inside.I drove so slowly, turning my head and keeping eye contact with it as we drove past and it did the same, craning its neck to watch me leave. My boyfriend couldn't see it past me at that point. Eventually, it's out of my vision and I look back at the road.We are both completely silent. I'm driving less than 10km an hour, having taken my foot off the gas when I saw something in the road. To this day I don't really tell people because they just laugh it off or try to explain it as an albino starving bear or something.Now, this year (2020) his parents were visiting just before winter hit. They have a dog. Me and his mom were having a smoke on the deck, which is about 6 feet off the ground. It's dusk. Not much light. We were on the left side of the deck, the same side we turned on the road to go to town. You can see the patch of woods where the creature would have been before so this instance happened in the same little area.I hear a bunch of cracking twigs just as the dog goes nuts. The dog is small so we were surprised when he almost jumped off the deck to run in the woods. My boyfriend comes out just in time and we see, just beyond some trees so it's obscured, a tall, lanky white form. But we couldn't see anything else definitive, and his mom had terrible eyesight and didn't have glasses. I KNOW it was the same creature. I got this twisting feeling in my gut.We don't leave our house at night. Maybe it's weird but I want to see it again. I used to think,  'Wow, these stories are cool I so believe in them.' It was nothing compared to the awed terror I felt when I made eye contact with something I was positive is not natural.I literally think about it every single day and it can actually bring me to tears cause it scares me so much."
