The president’s action comes on his first day back in the White House and just hours after he was sworn in for a second term. Mr. Trump has repeatedly sought to downplay the events of Jan. 6, when a mob of his supporters breached the Capitol in an effort to stop Congress from reaffirming former President Biden’s victory over him in 2020. And the pardons further his efforts to recast the assault as a “day of love” and Jan. 6 defendants as “political prisoners” and “hostages.” “These are the hostages, approximately 1,500 for a pardon, full pardon,” Mr. Trump said during remarks from the Oval Office. “This is a big one.” The president said he hopes those who remain incarcerated will be released tonight. His clemency includes six commutations, he said. More than 1,600 people have been charged as a result of their alleged conduct on Jan. 6, and at least 1,100 have had their cases adjudicated and received sentences, according to the Justice Department. More than 170 people have been accused of using a deadly or dangerous weapon, such as a fire extinguisher or bear spray, against police officers, prosecutors have said. There are roughly 300 prosecutions that remain pending against defendants who have been charged, the Justice Department said earlier this month. Nearly 60% of those have been charged with assaulting, resisting, or impeding law enforcement or obstructing those officers during a civil disorder, which are felonies. AP News added: President Donald Trump on Monday said he was pardoning about 1,500 of his supporters who have been charged in the Jan. 6, 2021, U.S. Capitol attack, using his sweeping clemency powers on his first day back in office to dismantle the largest investigation and prosecution in Justice Department history. The pardons were expected after Trump’s yearslong campaign to rewrite the history of the Jan. 6 attack that left more than 100 police officers injured and threatened the peaceful transfer of power. Yet the scope of the clemency still comes as a massive blow to the Justice Department’s effort to hold participants accountable over what has been described as one of the darkest days in American history. Trump also commuted the prison sentences of leaders of the Oath Keepers and Proud Boys convicted of seditious conspiracy for what prosecutors described as plots to keep Trump in power after he lost the 2020 election. Trump is also directing the attorney general to seek the dismissal of about 450 pending cases against Jan. 6 defendants.

The month of the Women's March was January, a day after Trump was inaugurated, but the geography is eerily similar. It's all strangely there. Of course the internet is spinning its wheels on conspiracy theories, but the most rampant one, which considering the evidence maybe shouldn't be shrugged off so soon, is that the Trump family has a time machine. Yes, a time machine. How does one make a leap to Donald Trump and Barron Trump, possibly time traveling? We can thank the internet. Donald Trump's uncle John Trump had access to Nikola Tesla's papers. Tesla was an inventor, electrical engineer, mechanical engineer, physicist, and futurist. And, according to the conspiracy theories, he was researching time travel. Was Baron Trump going to Russia to explore a portal to another dimension an allusion to time travel? The Senate has passed the Laken Riley Act in a bipartisan vote.

President Donald Trump issued a sweeping executive order on Monday granting full pardons for about 1,500 criminal defendants related to the January 6 Capitol breach. The EO covers all J6 defendants, save 14 cases, which will be granted commutations as Trump further looks at each individual case, the president told the press while in the Oval Office. “So this is January 6 — these are the hostages, approximately 1,5o0 for a pardon. Full pardon,” Trump said before signing the order. “We have about six commutations in there, where we’re doing further research.” The EO, however, says there are 14 people who have been granted commutations, not six. “We hope they come out tonight, frankly,” the president added, referring to J6ers’ release from prison. ?
