Send it in here! Help! My Cat Suffers from Allergies! “Dear Dr. Paola, My 6-year-old cat Nikki suffers from allergies. We don’t know the exact allergen, but a change in litter, food, and water has helped a little. She was badly traumatized as a kitten. Although she loves to be petted, any attempt to hold her to give medication brings on a panic response. I have tried everything I can think of—mixing with food, liquid treats, applying to her fur—nothing works. Are there any new subdural meds that her vet might apply?” – Linda Hi Linda, Taking care of a cat with a history of trauma and allergies can definitively be challenging. Working closely with a vet is essential to ensure the treatment plan addresses Nikki’s physical and emotional needs. Identifying allergy triggers is a key step, as it allows for targeted strategies to manage her signs effectively. Treatment options may include antihistamines for mild cases or as part of a broader plan, corticosteroids to reduce inflammation and itching, and immunotherapy to desensitize her to specific allergens over time. Other options, like immunosuppressants such as Atopica (cyclosporine) or off-label use of Apoquel (oclacitinib), may also be considered, but this needs to be based on her specific case. Stress management is also important, as it can significantly impact her overall well-being since stress worsens allergies. If you wish to learn more and explore the different available options for Nikki while minimizing stress and ensuring her comfort, we recommend speaking to one of our veterinarians in a one-on-one consult at PangoVet.com. PangoVet’s services can provide personalized advice and help you navigate the next steps, ensuring you and the veterinarian can work together to create a plan tailored to her specific needs. Best wishes! Dr. Paola Speak To a Vet Online From the Comfort of Your Couch! If you need to speak with a vet but can’t get to one, head over to PangoVet. It’s an online service where you can talk to a vet online and get the personalized advice you need for your pet — all at an affordable price! Click to Speak With a Vet Image Credit: Chendongshan, Shutterstock Help! My Cats Are Fart Machines! “Dear Dr. Paola, I have two 5-month-old kittens, Tux and Max, from the SPCA. They eat Purina pro plan kitten food wet 2 times a day in addition to their dry food. Are they supposed to be little raging fart machines? I pick one up and WAM, it’s so foul I have to cover my nose. Is this normal? Thank you.”  – Mary Hi Mary! It’s not uncommon for kittens to experience occasional gas, however persistent foul-smelling flatulence isn’t considered normal. There are several possible reasons for this. Dietary factors are often the primary cause. Highly processed foods may contain ingredients that some kittens find harder to digest, such as certain proteins, fillers, or additives. Swallowing air while eating, especially if they’re enthusiastic eaters, can also contribute to the problem. Additionally, kittens recently adopted from shelters may have an imbalance in their gut flora or could still be harboring intestinal parasites, even if they were treated for worms. I recommend starting with a closer look at their diet. Transitioning to a species-appropriate, less processed food with fewer additives might help improve their digestion and reduce gas. You want to stay away from foods with “Meat By-Products” in the ingredient list as you can never know what they contain. Adding a high-quality, veterinary-recommended probiotic can support them in building a healthy gut microbiome. It’s also a good idea to confirm with your veterinarian that Tux and Max are free from intestinal parasites, as these can often cause gastrointestinal upset, including gas. If the issue persists or is accompanied by diarrhea, vomiting, or weight changes, a vet visit would be essential to rule out other underlying concerns. Sincerely, Dr. Paola Image Credit: mistermon, Unsplash Help! My Cat Needs Weekly Baths! “Dear Dr. Paola, I have a foster cat, Catsby, with serious environmental and food allergies. Since he’s allergic to dust mites he gets a weekly bath with a hypoallergenic shampoo. (Plus HEPA filters, frequent bedding changes, steam mopping, etc.) Someone recommended monthly treatment with Revolution because it would help with any dust mites in the environment. Is that true? I hate to put chemicals on his skin unless they really would help significantly. Thanks, Dr. Paola” – Kitty Hi Kitty, Thank you for your dedication to Catsby’s care while he finds a forever home! While Revolution (selamectin) is effective against many parasites like fleas, ear mites, and sarcoptic mange mites, it does not work on dust mites. Dust mites, such as Dermatophagoides farinae and Dermatophagoides pteronyssinus, live in the environment, feeding on household members’ skin flakes and other organic debris. Since they don’t live on or feed from pets, they’re not exposed to selamectin, which primarily targets parasites that live in and interact directly with treated animals. I need to congratulate you, you’re already doing an excellent job managing Catsby’s dust mite allergies with HEPA filters, frequent bedding changes, steam mopping, and hypoallergenic baths. These steps are the most effective for controlling dust mites and minimizing allergens. Adding Revolution is unlikely to provide additional help with dust mites, so I understand your hesitation about applying chemicals unnecessarily. Please never take treatment This article is a part of our weekly Ask Dr. Paola series Read last weeks questions here – Monday January 13, 2025  Click here to submit a question The post Ask Dr. Paola – Monday January 20, 2025 by Dr. Paola Cuevas MVZ (Veterinarian) appeared first on Catster. Biden Responsible for Single Greatest Disaster in Foreign Policy in a Century

Victor Davis Hanson, the renowned American historian and political commentator, has joined The Daily Signal as a senior contributor. This transcript has been lightly edited. Joe Biden is on his way out of office and as a farewell to all of us, he reviewed the state of affairs abroad to his own State Department. And he made a series of claims that were, to be frank, complete fabrications. He said that the world was calmer now than it was when he inherited. He inherited a common world of affairs, calm world affairs where there was no war in the Middle East. There was no war in Ukraine. He took credit, if you can believe it, for saving Ukraine. But when he entered office, remember what he said? He, first of all, said he was going to put on hold the weaponry and munitions necessary for Ukraine’s deterrence that Donald Trump had approved and he did. He was asked what would you do if Vladimir Putin should go into Ukraine. He said, it depends on whether it’s a major, a major invasion that had a green light effect on Vladimir Putin. So did the August, 2021 complete scram, skedaddle from Afghanistan, which we left $50 billion or so of munitions equipment. We lost 13 great soldiers. We were completely humiliated. That left a signal to Vladimir Putin, as did this reality that Vladimir Putin prior to the Biden presidency had gone into other countries that has left his borders two out of the prior three administrations during the lame duck George W. Bush administration when he went into Georgia and Ossetia, and of course, during the vice presidency of Biden himself and Barack Obama during the Obama presidency, but not Donald Trump. So you’re Vladimir Putin. You hear that he’s put on hold offensive weaponry to Ukraine. He suggested that he won’t react if it’s a minor invasion. You’ve seen what happened in Afghanistan, and you know that you were able to get away with it in a prior tenure in which Joe Biden participated as vice president. So why would you claim that you had done this? Outstanding achievement and the war is not over. It’s the worst carnage in Europe since the battle of Stalingrad with 1.7 million dead, wounded or missing. It’s nothing to brag about. It’s a complete catastrophe and it was a result of deterrence being crushed. He also bragged about the Middle East. He said Iran was, was weak. Yeah, it’s weak because Israel overrode your orders to them not to retaliate in kind when Iran sent 500 projectiles, drones, missiles, cruise missiles in two different occasions. And the Israelis were told not to reply in kind. The only reason that Iran is weak, is ’cause Israel bucked Joe Biden, and they did retaliate, not the way they wanted to, but enough to destroy the air defenses and humiliate Iran. They were the ones that went into Hezbollah’s territory in Lebanon. Despite, not because of Joe Biden, they decapitated the hierarchy of Hezbollah. They were the ones who destroyed 70% of Hamas against, again, the wishes of Joe Biden. He said that he was tough on China. He said, China wasn’t our rival. He allowed a Chinese spy balloon to traverse the United States. For a week, he did nothing. China has been buying systematically strategic acreage around our installations with no effect. China has some 20,000 single males who cross the border. For what purpose, we don’t know, except it must be nefarious. China surely threatens Taiwan. And why? Well, that’s up to conjecture, but given Hunter Biden’s trips to China on Air Force Two during the vice presidency of Joe Biden and the monies that came from Chinese affiliated corporations, you can see that the Chinese at least believe that he is compromised, he being Joe Biden, by extension, the whole Biden family. So there’s nothing to brag about. And when you look at the military, he said that, I’m the first president that, that will leave no Afghanistan for my incoming successor. That’s like saying, I lost D-Day, so we pulled out of World War II, and then Harry Truman, if you were going to imagine a conversation with a live [Franklin Delano Roosevelt] FDR, he had no war in World War II, because I lost it. Yes, Donald Trump didn’t have a war in Afghanistan because you lost it and you humiliated us and you destroyed deterrence. So, you add it all up. I’m sorry. I’m animated. I could go on, but this was the single greatest disaster in foreign policy in a century. And yet he had the audacity to go before the state department and claim it was a great success. And I don’t know whether we should laugh or cry. The post Biden Responsible for Single Greatest Disaster in Foreign Policy in a Century appeared first on The Daily Signal.

Jake Barber, UFO Whistleblowers, and a New Point For Disclosure

On January 18th, NewsNation aired an investigative special featuring Jake Barber, a former US Air Force veteran, who claimed firsthand involvement in retrieving what he described as “nonhuman” technology. While many focused on the accompanying video of a mysterious “egg-shaped” craft, some argued that it failed to deliver conclusive proof. However, the video was just a small part of the revelations shared during the special. Beyond the sensationalism, the whistleblower presented groundbreaking claims. Moving Beyond the Video The video wasn’t “earth-shattering,” and the dramatic music and presentation left much to be desired. However, we learned a great deal of new information, much of it on camera, from credible witnesses. Now several former special forces members broke their silence, sharing firsthand accounts of psionic assets and crash retrieval programs. These individuals, who operated in highly classified environments, described witnessing extraordinary phenomena and connecting with technology that appeared to transcend human capabilities. The concept of psionics—psychic abilities like telepathy—took very interesting point in the discussion. Barber described how psionic operators are crucial to engaging with UAPs. Jake Barber was contracted by the military branch to work as a helicopter pilot flying to the sites of downed UFOs, he said in an interview with NewsNation. These operators reportedly form a consciousness-based connection with the objects, enabling interaction and operation beyond traditional means. “The craft isn’t just flown; it’s bonded with,” Barber explained. Psionics has been a fringe topic in UFO lore. Now, it seems to be gaining attention as an integral part of the phenomenon. This could redefine how we understand UAP technology and its connection to human consciousness. Barber recounted visiting Dr. Gary Nolan, a renowned Stanford immunologist, to discuss the physical effects experienced by individuals involved in transporting anomalous objects. A professor from Stanford University has claimed that aliens have been on planet earth for some time. Credit: Youtube Nolan’s findings confirmed that multiple individuals, including Barber’s team members, became physically ill after transporting an object of unknown origin. Symptoms ranged from nausea to long-term neurological effects. This corroborates earlier reports of adverse health effects in individuals who come into close contact with UAPs. While much has been written about UAPs operating in air, water, and space, Barber introduced a startling new dimension: ground traversal. According to him, the craft retrieved during his operation exhibited the ability to pass through solid ground, a capability never before documented. Many viewers interpreted the NewsNation special as a direct challenge to the entities allegedly orchestrating the cover-up. “We have a highly experienced, effective, and talented team working right now to expose you,” seemed to be the unspoken message. John Blitch graduated from the US Naval Academy at Annapolis, Class of 1936. He retired as a Rear Admiral in the US Navy. Adding weight to Barber’s claims was the endorsement of Lt. Col. John Blitch, a Senior Research Scientist at Wright-Patterson Air Force Base and a former DARPA project manager. Blitch stated that he “wholeheartedly” supports Barber’s account and confirmed that “the U.S. has absolutely recovered UAPs.” This endorsement from such a high-ranking and credible figure reinforces the gravity of the allegations. What Comes Next? While the video clip itself was inconclusive, it’s essential to view disclosure as a process, not an event. Since 2017, the conversation around UAPs has evolved significantly. Key milestones include: 2017: The Pentagon acknowledges the existence of UAPs. 2023: Pilot testimonies and David Grusch’s allegations of secret programs bring renewed attention to the issue. 2024: Figures like Michael Shellenberger and organizations such as Immaculate Constellation push for transparency. Now, in 2025, Barber’s firsthand account. The next logical step is to bring Barber and other witnesses before Congress to testify under oath. Only through official channels can these claims be thoroughly investigated and validated. The NewsNation special, despite its flaws, delivered significant new information. The bravery of whistleblowers like Jake Barber deserves recognition. The post Jake Barber, UFO Whistleblowers, and a New Point For Disclosure appeared first on Anomalien.com.

The 8-year global revolution (and the suicide of the elites) is here

The moment has arrived. President Donald Trump will now be both the 45th and 47th president of the United States. Impossible as it was to predict the events of the 98 months and one week that have passed since the November night Trump first shocked the world, there were signs from before it even happened that pointed to what was to come. These warnings were virtually everywhere in the Western world, and virtually everywhere, they were imperiously ignored by the ruling elites. On this snowy January day, they reap it. It’s hard to overstate just how tumultuous a year 2016 was for the global order. Trump’s shock victory capped a year that had already seen British voters vote to leave the European Union, tearing at the very heart of a grand liberal experiment in the repression of national sovereignty under continental commissions and bureaucracy, to the benefit of finance and trade. Today might mark a new beginning, but more certain than anything, this day, Monday, Jan. 20, 2025, marks the liberal order’s end. And how sweet it is. The connection between Trump’s election and the popular vote to leave the European Union failed to resonate with elites in either Europe or America. While their initial reactions included some confusion and occasional moments of self-reflection, it ultimately did little to shift their perspectives. The overwhelming response was to write off the U.K.’s Nigel Farage and New York’s brash orange man as ugly aberrations from the long march of history. They weren’t treated as visionaries. They weren’t even understood as having tapped into legitimate mass frustrations. Rather, they were written off as irritable reactionaries, ugly echoes of an ugly past. “England is part of a global community,” they said. “America was never great.” Those among the elites who did actually blame themselves didn’t do so for failing their people or betraying the national interest. Instead, they blamed themselves for giving too much airtime to the victors’ grievances and for not adequately explaining their own virtues. As with Brexit, few took a step back and wondered whether the same anger that nearly catapulted a cantankerous 75-year-old Vermont socialist to the top of the blue ticket might be tied to the frustrations felt by blue-collar Democrats defecting to the Republican nominee. On this they failed as well. Today, former Bernie Sanders supporters from Joe Rogan to your next-door neighbor are bona fide Trump supporters. While some were dyed-in-the-wool socialists, most were simply sick of business as usual. It was clear by the time the 2020 elections came around that the pressure these two seemingly disparate septuagenarians had tapped into had found no release. Society was as tense as at any time since the 1960s. Still, few altered course. Even before COVID, Western politicians had busied themselves with suppressing the revolt instead of dealing with its causes. From 2017 to 2021, far from passing any meaningful reforms, the U.S. Congress did everything in its power to persecute its new president and his few loyal allies. Then, in early 2020, COVID-19 exposed just how far they’d go. While few other Western states followed Australia’s internment-camp model, across the world, the rulers divided families and villainized Christians and other dissenting voices — all hand in glove with Big Business and Big Tech. Then, in January 2021, America’s top corporations took the mask off, smashing the myth of a free internet, crippling the Parler social media app, and banning the outgoing president from his social media platforms. American dissidents lost their jobs and their bank accounts. Heavy-handed federal raids targeted aged trespassers alongside young rioters. In Europe and the larger British Commonwealth too, the pressure from on high continued. In Canada, Prime Minister Justin Trudeau, a longtime liberal icon, brutally suppressed truckers protesting his vaccine mandates. By the end of 2023, Europe’s farmers too were in rebellion. Tractors blocked roads, products were dumped, and bonfires were set. In Britain, the long-cherished rights of Englishmen were swept aside with impunity. While you’re far less likely to mysteriously die in a British prison than in a Russian one, you’re far more likely to find the police at your door for a social media post in England or Scotland than in Vladimir Putin’s homeland. For years, police, newspapers, and politicians ignored rape gangs. Still today, few among the elites are willing to address the scourge honestly, never mind act decisively to make sure it ends and never happens again. While Conservative governments have faltered and fallen, it’s not because the Labour Party was a popular alternative — it’s because the Tories resisted the British voters’ will at nearly every turn, continuing merrily along as if Brexit had never actually happened. In France and Germany, the trends were much the same — all while immigrant crime, attacks, and general disorder soared. As was prophesized in 1968, “the sense of alarm and of resentment lies not with the immigrant population, but with those among whom they have come and are still coming.” Across the world, these concerns were (and are) ignored or worse: written off as the irritable reactions of racist nativists. This smear was echoed on every front, from Fleet Street to Hollywood and from the Bundestag to the White House. And ever still, the pressure built. In 2024, the eruption so long foretold by its tremors finally poured forth. And not just in the United States. The previous fall had seen the toppling of the Dutch government and the near-ascension of longtime backbench provocateur Geert Wilders. It was called the biggest challenge to the Dutch status quo since the Second World War, and around the world, the upsets would continue. In Britain, Labour swept back into tenuous power on the backs of voters enraged by the Tories’ hollow promises and feckless governance. In France, liberal icon Emmanuel Macron’s government collapsed after a vote of no confidence. Twelve days later in Germany, Chancellor Olaf Scholz’s government collapsed after a vote of no confidence. Three weeks after that, Justin Trudeau announced his coming resignation as his own government followed suit. Like the fires that have burned swaths of Los Angeles to the ground, the end results of decades of neglectful misrule can no longer be blamed on Republicans or global warming or Russian interference or any other shadowy, distant evil. These are fruits of the liberal order’s own sowing. It did this. It set the conditions. All it took were sparks carried on a hard wind. None of this is to say the future is conservative. In Washington, a goodly number of professional Republicans are actively on the liberal order’s side — and are actively fighting against any real changes to its systems. Pierre Poilievre’s Conservative Party in Canada more closely resembles these Republicans than it does Trump’s people or those of the populist conservative movements of Europe. The same is true in Westminster. In France, Germany, and elsewhere in mainland Europe, conservative opposition is fractured, unsure, and eager for infighting. On the continent, socialists and Green Party types are as likely (or more) to reap the benefits of this collapse as those on the right are. All this is to say, however, that the postwar liberal order is dead. Dead, but not by Trump’s hand or by Wilders’ or Farage’s or Marine Le Pen’s in France. None but its own. It was killed by its decadence, its own condescension. The founders of this order had been restrained from excesses. They’d seen the League of Nations founder and fail under the weight of its own utopianism. Theirs was a clear-eyed order, promising to establish safe trade routes and roundtables for bipolar dialogue and de-escalation. Their goal was to prevent a third world war. Their successors took the hard-won peace and prosperity they’d inherited and spent it on adventurism, free trade, deindustrialization, outsourcing, unrestricted immigration from the undeveloped world, the breaking down of national sovereignties, and global crusades for democracy and gay rights. They spent credit they had not earned on priorities that actively hurt their own countries, and they did it with the moral fervor of a secular Awakening. Anyone who questioned them was “on the wrong side of history.” Theirs was the throne given them by their fathers. No more. The blinders are off, the rulers exposed. Ironically, the trauma of their responses to COVID did more than anyone to wake the people up, even if drowsily. Some blessings come in painful packages. The future is unknown, but it’s undeniably here. In November, Americans voted in the majority for the return of the man the world order elites had rejected. At every turn, they resisted both the realities around them and the change those realities demanded. Trump's inauguration is their reckoning. Today might mark a new beginning, but more certain than anything, this day, Monday, Jan. 20, 2025, marks the liberal order’s end. And how sweet it is. TikTok is back, but not in the App Store or Google Play

It's been a wild weekend for TikTok, US users, and US legislators. TikTok lost its final battle against the government, with the Supreme Court upholding the divest-or-ban law late last week with a historic 9-0 vote. On Saturday, TikTok decided to shut down service in the US, with over 170 million Americans finding themselves unable to get their TikTok fix for several hours. Apple and Google removed the app from the App Store and Google Play, with other service providers shutting down support. But TikTok stayed down for less than a day, as President-elect Donald Trump posted a message on Truth Social asking tech companies "not to let TikTok stay dark." Trump said he would issue an executive order on Monday that would give TikTok time to comply with the law before risking the ban. TikTok thanked Trump as it resumed service in the US, but that only means that the social network is working on devices that had the social network installed before the interruption of service. Apple and Google have not relisted TikTok in the App Store and Google Play, and it's likely it won't happen until Trump actually issues the executive order on Monday, after his inauguration.
