Scott Jennings Schools CNN Panel in Clash Over Woke Smithsonian's Slavery Obsession, Says Trump is Right

CNN's Scott Jennings came to President Donald Trump's defense Tuesday night by arguing that the Smithsonian should not be promoting a narrative that makes slavery the defining issue in American history. CNN "NewsNight" host Abby Phillip opened the program with a monologue chastising Trump for his administration's plans to review...

Winsome Sears Is Protecting Virginia Women and Girls’ Safety, Sports, and Well-Being

Virginia Lt. Gov. Winsome Sears is protecting Virginia’s women and girls, and she’s not letting off the gas. On Thursday, Sears will be speaking at the Arlington County School Board meeting, where she’ll stand up against Arlington schools’ failed leadership. The Trump administration has argued that Arlington schools are in violation—along with Fairfax, Loudoun, and Prince William Counties and Alexandria city schools—of federal Title IX law by allowing boys who identify as girls in girls bathrooms, locker rooms, and sports.  It’s sad that my home city of Arlington is harming girls, but I’m heartened that Sears is protecting them. Title IX was written to protect girls, not erase them. These schools are on murky legal ground when they allow males into female spaces in schools funded with federal dollars, and they are opening themselves up to major lawsuits. They are at risk of losing tens of millions of federal dollars in the name of embracing anti-scientific, anti-woman ideological agendas.  When schools ignore Title IX, they’re not just bending the rules—they’re undermining decades of progress that women and girls fought for. This isn’t just about sports; it’s about safety, fairness, and opportunity.  Sears knows that if we allow males into girls locker rooms or athletic competitions, we are telling our daughters that their privacy doesn’t matter, their scholarships don’t matter, and their hard work can be erased.  When institutions stop standing up for equal rights, trust in those institutions erodes. We need leaders like Sears willing to stand firm, enforce the law, and remind everyone that Title IX was created to protect women, not redefine them out of existence. I was glad to speak last week in Upperville, Virginia, at an event titled “Women Win With Winsome” hosted by Sears’ gubernatorial campaign with moderator Katie Gorka, who runs the Fairfax County GOP. Our panel also included Virginia state Sen. Tara Durant, R-Fredericksburg. During the event, Sears paraphrased tennis star Serena Williams, who said men and women’s tennis were “completely almost separate sports” because of men’s innate physical advantages. “When we’re talking about opportunity, we want to have an equal playing field, and it is not equal,” Sears said. “This isn’t something about what we’re against, it’s what we’re for. We’re for equal opportunity for our girl children, it’s really that simple.” (Carrie Sheffield) Gorka asked me about my work advocating for women’s opportunities, including speaking out against men stealing hundreds of medals and trophies from women across dozens of sports. I have also been writing about the failed record of Abigail Spanberger, Sears’ gubernatorial opponent. When she was in Congress, Spanberger voted against keeping men out of women’s sports and co-sponsored the so-called “Equality Act” that would practically redefine women out of existence. When males are allowed to compete in women’s sports, it’s not just about a scoreboard, it’s about scholarships, college admissions, and career opportunities that are being taken away from young women who earned them.  I’ve spoken with female athletes across the country who have been told to simply “accept it”—and that’s unacceptable. We should be encouraging their courage, not punishing it.  Sears wants to stand up for fairness, safety, and equal opportunity, and I believe we owe it to every girl in our commonwealth to protect the integrity of her sport. During Sears’ event, we also discussed public safety, a key issue for women, who are at a much higher risk of domestic violence than men. Public safety is fundamental to every other freedom we enjoy.  Sears noted that when prosecutors like Steve Descano, Fairfax County’s leftist commonwealth’s attorney, let violent offenders back on the streets within days, it’s not just a failure of the legal system—it’s a breach of trust with the community.  Victims feel abandoned, families live in fear, and criminals learn there’s no real consequence for their actions. Public safety shouldn’t be partisan—it’s the most basic responsibility of government.  Women know that Sears cares for our safety and well-being. Her policies would continue the work of Gov. Glenn Youngkin to protect women and girls in sports, prisons, locker rooms, and homes.  Virginia’s women and girls cannot afford to see our rights eroded in the name of trendy, non-scientific fads that defy logic, biology, and the law. Carrie Sheffield is a Virginia voter and author of ”Motorhome Prophecies: A Journey of Healing and Forgiveness.” We publish a variety of perspectives. Nothing written here is to be construed as representing the views of The Daily Signal. The Rotten Truth About the Egg Cartel

They lied. For 50 years, nutrition “experts” told you eggs would kill you. A University of South Australia study just proved them wrong. Eggs don’t cause heart disease. They never did. The methodology was embarrassingly simple. Separate the effects of cholesterol from those of saturated fat. The result? When eaten without excess saturated fats, eggs actually help reduce bad cholesterol. Any halfway competent researcher could’ve figured this out in the 1970s. But they didn’t — because they didn’t want to. The American Heart Association built its empire by peddling cholesterol-centered panic. By 2016, documents revealed the AHA had taken sizeable sums in corporate funding from companies like Coca-Cola and PepsiCo. It was the public-health equivalent of Mothers Against Drunk Driving being bankrolled by Budweiser. Big Pharma sold billions in statins. Food companies launched entire product lines around “low-cholesterol” labels. Admitting eggs were harmless would have shattered the illusion that made them all rich. So they buried the truth. Deep. (RELATED: The MAHA Movement Continues to Gain Steam) The body count from bad dietary guidance likely exceeds most modern epidemics. Meanwhile, people suffered. Generations avoided a cheap, complete protein. Kids missed out on nutrients critical for brain development. Seniors fell into malnutrition, faithfully following the same advice that was killing them. The body count from bad dietary guidance likely exceeds most modern epidemics. And the establishment didn’t care. They had careers to protect. Markets to expand. Money to make. This pattern repeats across the entire nutrition industry. Butter was demonized for decades (and to a large degree, still is), even though it contains vital fat-soluble vitamins A, D, E, and K. Instead, we were told to eat margarine, industrially processed sludge full of trans fats that actually caused the very heart disease they claimed to prevent. They banned the natural and pushed the toxic. Salt was declared an enemy of the people. Never mind that it’s essential for basic cellular function, nerve conduction, blood pressure regulation, and brain performance. In its place, we got low-sodium, chemical-laced cardboard masquerading as food. Only now are medical experts admitting that extreme sodium restriction is linked to higher rates of heart failure and insulin resistance. Yet these findings rarely make headlines. People developed serious health issues from salt deficiency. But hey, food companies made a killing on “healthier” options that tasted like drywall. Red meat was executed by a thousand junk studies that ignored context. Was it processed? Was it burnt? Was it eaten with a gallon of soda and a pile of fries? Didn’t matter. They pinned cancer on beef and moved on. Honest inquiry was never the goal. Framing the defendant was. It gets worse. Nutrition science relies on single-variable studies that ignore how real humans eat. They mistake correlation for causation when it fits their agenda. They churn out research bought and paid for by food conglomerates looking for favorable headlines. Credible reviews have shown that industry-funded nutrition studies are up to eight times more likely to deliver conclusions that flatter the sponsor’s products. Health organizations take corporate funding. Researchers serve as marketers. The results are predictable. Academic groupthink only amplifies the insanity. Young researchers are trained in dishonest methodologies by older academics who built careers on them. Peer reviewers block dissenting studies to protect orthodoxy. In 2017, a group of American scholars documented how sugar industry funding in the 1960s helped suppress research linking sucrose to heart disease, redirecting the blame toward saturated fat instead. Journalists repeat government talking points without a hint of skepticism. The machine enforces conformity. Truth becomes dangerous. And then there’s the Food Pyramid. That bureaucratic monstrosity wasn’t built on credible science; it was built on cartloads of corn. It declared carbs the foundation of a healthy diet while banishing fats and marginalizing protein. Coincidentally, this aligned perfectly with grain subsidies and Big Ag’s obsession with processed carbohydrates. Health was never the priority. Profit was. What happened was nothing short of disastrous. Obesity exploded. Diabetes skyrocketed. Heart disease climbed. The public followed establishment-approved advice and got sicker. Authorities turned on the very people they misled, muttering about lazy lifestyles and bad genes — anything to avoid accountability. All the while, Big Pharma cashed in. The cholesterol psyop was a goldmine. Scare people away from eggs, then sell them statins to solve the fake crisis. What a brilliant, utterly diabolical strategy. The low-fat craze was textbook institutional capture. First, vilify natural foods. Then, manufacture synthetic “solutions” to the imaginary problems you just invented. It worked. Patients suffered, while corporations’ value skyrocketed. The Mediterranean diet wasn’t spared scrutiny, even though it was flawless — it survived because it carried cultural prestige. Being European, it was celebrated by American academics and journalists alike, while homegrown traditions like steak-and-eggs or bacon were derided as “backward.” Geography and class bias, not stronger science, saved it from the chopping block. And that bias still lingers. Even today, Americans romanticize a postcard version of Europe — Vienna cafés, Parisian bistros, sunlit Italian markets — while ignoring the reality of cities decimated by migrant gangs, crime, and cultural decay. The myth persists because it flatters their sensibilities, not because it reflects health or truth. (RELATED: The Outbreak of Migrant-Related Crime and Rape in the EU) This egg study should spark a nutritional revolution. It should force every health agency, university, and corporate-backed dietitian to issue a public apology. But I’m not a moron, and neither are you. We know that this won’t happen. Too many reputations are tied to the old lies. University departments built entire curricula demonizing decent food. Government panels justified their existence with nutritional guidelines designed by lobbyists. And food giants rewired the entire supermarket around low-fat, high-sugar garbage, then paid off health organizations to slap “heart-healthy” on the label. None of them can afford the truth. Reform means collapse. Collapse means lawsuits, investigations, ruined careers. It means finally admitting that millions suffered — needlessly — because of advice that was wrong from the start. And no one wants that. So they’ll keep the confusion alive. Keep the grants flowing. Keep the drugs selling. Keep the lie going. Eggs never needed redemption. They needed protection from scientific corruption. The egg lie has finally cracked. Now it’s time to smash the whole carton. The real poison was never on your plate; it came from the podium, dressed in credentials, dripping with contempt. 60,000 More Troops for Gaza as Israel Floats a ‘Limited Ceasefire’

Israeli media reports that 60,000 military reservists are being called up for the takeover of Gaza City. This is on top of the tens of thousands already deployed. They’ll have two weeks to report for duty “to participate in the operation to capture Gaza City.” But what of the ceasefire? Even as Israel prepares a massive surge, other outlets report that talks toward a “limited ceasefire” are supposedly underway. Hamas is offering all the hostages in exchange for a ceasefire. “Note the wording on Israel’s ceasefire option: ‘limited.’” Some hostages may be exchanged, but Israel will not release all of their Palestinian hostages nor halt its plan for a full takeover of Gaza City. Especially not with another 60,000 troops now suited up for the job. Meanwhile, the campaign hasn’t just displaced people—it’s erased the cityscape. A new Haaretz report shows that the scale of demolition in Gaza is unprecedented in Israeli history, with hundreds of heavy machines, massive fuel consumption, and relentless pulverization of residential areas. They call it an “engineering project” but this isn’t about roads or bridges — it’s the systematic erasure of an entire civilization. DEA Announces Joint Cartel Crackdown — Mexico Says ‘What Agreement?’

On Monday, the DEA announced a new partnership with Mexico to target drug cartel “gatekeepers.” It is called Project Portero. According to the agency, the plan would unite Mexican investigators with U.S. law enforcement, prosecutors, defense officials, and intelligence officers to choke off smuggling corridors at the border. Then on Tuesday, Mexican President Claudia Sheinbaum flatly denied knowing anything about it. “There is no agreement with the DEA,” she said. “The DEA puts out this statement, based on what we don’t know. We have not reached any agreement; none of the security institutions has an agreement with the DEA.” So… ¿qué pasa? Either Washington just launched a high-profile cross-border operation without telling Mexico — or Sheinbaum is distancing herself from it for political reasons at home. But here’s the pattern: every time Washington talks about “going after the cartels,” Sheinbaum plays shocked, as if it’s not a priority. Why? Because she’s either unwilling or unable to take it on herself. One thing is clear: she doesn’t “got this.” The post DEA Announces Joint Cartel Crackdown — Mexico Says ‘What Agreement?’ appeared first on Redacted.

Male cheerleaders

It’s football season, male NFL cheerleaders are raising eyebrows. This isn’t new — men have been on NFL sidelines since 2018. And male cheerleaders themselves are nothing new. In fact, cheerleading began as a male sport, its chants derived from military cadences. Four U.S. presidents — George W. Bush, Ronald Reagan, Franklin Roosevelt, and Dwight Eisenhower — were all cheerleaders. Women only stepped into the role when men were drafted into World War II. After the war, Lawrence Herkimer — known as “Mr. Cheerleader” — created the famous herkie jump, patented the pom-pom, and built the first large-scale cheer camps. So why the uproar now? It seems less about cheerleading and more about cultural spillover. The backlash looks like a reflex to the trans debate, where the public has grown wary of men in traditionally female spaces. But these boys don’t deserve that. They aren’t pretending to be women or demanding validation. The truth is, the trans issue has so poisoned the conversation that the movement didn’t just hurt women — it hurt these boys too. The post Male cheerleaders appeared first on Redacted.

Dumb and Dumbr

These stories have nothing to do with one another, but they are both so dumb that they deserve a dual Dumbest Take of the Day award. First: Homeland Security Secretary Kristi Noem says the border wall will be painted black to stop people from climbing it, because black gets hot in the sun. Apparently gloves and nighttime never occurred to her. In unrelated news, The Dispatch has this gem about whether vaccinated kids should play with unvaccinated kids. It lacks any critical information about which vaccines offer herd immunity and which do not. Not all vaccines prevent transmission or provide herd immunity. For instance, tetanus isn’t contagious — it’s usually contracted from animal feces. So unless your living room is full of horse manure, you don’t need to worry about whether the neighbor kid got his tetanus shot. Why do outlets keep writing about vaccines as if they’re one monolithic “protected class” with identical attributes? They’re not. It’s as if they are trying really hard not to know that. It’s lazy, misleading — and in this case, flat-out idiotic. The post Dumb and Dumbr appeared first on Redacted.

Less Than A Year After Being Arrested For Stealing A Church Van, Wynonna Judd’s Daughter, Grace Kelley, Got Baptized In That Very Same Church

Wynonna Judd’s daughter, Grace Kelley, has been in and out of jail for the better part of the past decade, mostly related to drug use. She was arrested three different times in 2024 alone, including in April when she was arrested in Alabama for indecent exposure. She was also charged with obstructing governmental operations. Police say she “exposed her breasts and lower body” at the intersection of I-65 and Highway 14, and when confronted by officers, sat on the side of the road and refused to comply. They later added soliciting prostitution to the charges. In August of 2024, Kelley was arrested in Georgia and sent to Carroll County Jail on charges of fleeing or attempting to elude an officer, driving with a suspended/revoked license, and using motorcycle equipment improperly, public records show. She was released on $2,750 bond. She failed to appear, and a bench warrant has since been issued in the state of Georgia. And lastly, back in October near Charlottesville, Virginia, Kelley was arrested for stealing a church van. At this time in her life, Grace Kelley’s situation was dire, prompting her mother, Wynonna Judd, to take over care of her two-year-old granddaughter. While it was heartbreaking to see the drugs take hold of Grace Kelley’s life, leading to her not being able to care for her child, a year later, she’s turned her life around drastically. Grace Kelley recently sat down with The Daily Progress, sharing that after she served six weeks for her arrest in Charlottesville, Virginia, the time she spent in jail not only got her sober but changed her outlook on life. Upon her release, she’s remained sober and became a part of a sober living community in Charlottesville. “My entire life, the reason I travel so much is I was looking for home. But ever since I came to Charlottesville and I gave my life to God — oh, man, it’s just beautiful. I love it here.” Ironically, the church van she stole was from the church congregation she is a member of. At the time of the arrest, the pastor of the church said: “We devoted an entire service to her. We cut the livestream off, and we, as a church, prayed for her and her family. On a personal level level, we forgive her. If there’s ever an opportunity for us to be a part of her redemptive process in any way, we’re absolutely open to that.” And it sounds like that redemptive process is well underway. Talk about a full circle moment. But also, talk about a church living and breathing the example that Jesus set forth in the Gospels… this is what it is all about. Grace Kelley says that although she was not supposed to go near the church as part of her plea deal, Pastor Kent Hart’s wife reached out to her on Facebook and quickly became friends. Earlier this year, Kelley was baptized in their church. Kelley shared that without Pastor Kent Hart and his wife, Megan, she would still be on the streets living a rough life. While it’s amazing to see Kelley on a new path, in the interview, she did not have great things to say about her mother. Kelley’s troubles began at a young age when Wynonna Judd’s second husband, D.R. Roach, molested her. In response, her mother brought the whole family together for counseling. “Then when they found out in counseling what he had done to me, they’re like, ‘Wait a minute. We’re going to report this to law enforcement.'” Roach was arrested in 2007, and according to the Tennessee sex offender registry, he pleaded guilty to attempting to commit aggravated sexual battery on a minor. Kelley claims that her mother did not divorce him until the news of his crimes came out in the news. At the time of the arrest, the victim’s identity wasn’t revealed. Kelley also claims that after the divorce, her mother swept everything under the rug and was “never a mother” to her. “So is my mom rich? Yeah, she’s so rich that she was able to sweep me under the rug and abuse me and then cover it all up. I don’t want to talk bad about my mom, but we’ll just say she’s a good performer. She was never a mother.” After her mother divorced Roach, her troubles began, and she bounced around from different facilities until the age of 17. “Between 12 and 17, I was in 14 different facilities.” The Judd family had a lot of baggage, of course, with Wynonna going through her own struggles as well. Notably, with her mother, Naomi, the other half of legendary country duo The Judds, who sadly died by suicide in April of 2022. While things might not have been great in the past, hopefully these two can start fresh. Grace Kelley ended the interview with some words of hope that I hope she carries into a fresh start with her mother. “I’m thankful that we serve a forgiving God. I’m thankful that God is forgiving.” Pastor Hart adds: “There’s a lot of victory going on in her life and we’re just continuing to walk with her as we know Jesus would want us to.” Amen. Zach Top Releases Music Video For New Heartbreaker “South Of Sanity”

Zach Top has been on nothing short of an absolute roll lately. After capturing the hearts and ears of many with the release of his debut album, Cold Beer & Country Music, last year, the Washington native followed it up this year, bringing home New Male Artist at the ACM Awards back in April along with an Album of the Year nod. Arguably the hottest artist in the genre outside of the likes of Morgan Wallen and Zach Bryan, it seems as if the Top has been, well… on top of the world lately. After dropping his certified summer banger, “Good Times & Tan Lines,” back in June, the “Use Me” singer released arguably his best song to date with “South Of Sanity” earlier in the month. Instantly transporting you to a rainy night in the early 90s, Top grapples not only with losing his mind but also the prospect of losing his lover to the road in the heartbreaker. “Still I’m somewhere outside AmarilloThey just called my name from the stageWhen we last talked she was talkin’ leavin’But I gotta show I gotta playSomewhere south of sanityStill just north of insane” With his new album, Ain’t In It For My Health, releasing in just nine days, Top decided to keep the momentum going with the release of a brand new video for “South of Sanity” today. View this post on Instagram A post shared by Zach Top (@zachtop) In typical Top fashion, he keeps the video just about as simple as it gets. There’s no visualization of the song’s narrative. Instead, it depicts Top playing guitar atop a lonely plain with b-roll footage of scenes of him and his band out on the road on his current Cold Beer & Country Music Tour. With a song as good as “South Of Sanity,” there’s truly no reason to get elaborate with the music video. I think the music speaks for itself here. It’s starting to become a bit of a moot point to hail Top as the next savior of country music. While I don’t know if I’d go that far (not yet at least), songs like this, as well as “Use Me” and the certified-platinum “I Never Lie,” point to the brightest future we’ve seen in recent memory. Either way, it looks like we’re in for an absolute treat next Friday upon Ain’t In It For My Health’s release. In other news, Top extended his aforementioned Cold Beer & Country Music Tour, adding five brand new dates from October to December. A full list of tour dates can be found below.
