Long after the Covid pandemic and vaccine mandates were at their peak, Hollywood is still hating on those who were/are wary about getting the vaccine. Case in point, Hulu’s comedy How to Die Alone, which featured a joke about an airline agent purposely booking difficult flights for “drunk anti-vaxxers.” The show had many little liberal digs scattered throughout its eight-episode first season, including using white racial stereotypes as fodder for laughs which happened in episode 8, “Get Lost.” But the worst dig came in the same episode, and it was at the expense of those who were wary of getting the Covid vaccine. It’s understandable many people were hesitant given the vaccine was new and, more specifically, mRNA-type vaccines had never been given to the public before. No one knew what long-term side effects could potentially occur. Given what we know now about the many life-threatening conditions linked to the vaccines, no one should blame people for being cautious. And there could be even more we don’t know about since the CDC admitted to withholding information from the public because they believe it “could lead to misinformation.” But Hollywood still blames who they label “anti-vaxxers,” and How to Die Alone made sure to throw more shade at them. As main character Mel (Natasha Rothwell) is waiting to board her flight to her former boyfriend’s wedding (whom she still loves) in the final episode of the premier season, she answers the call for a volunteer willing to give up their seat due to the flight being overbooked. Mel requests the longest flight with as many layovers possible so she can claim she tried to get to the wedding but couldn’t arrive in time. That’s when the airline agent jokes about how she usually books such difficult flights for “drunk anti-vaxxers”: Mel: I can give up my seat. Agent: Okay, Miss Jackson, you're flying first. Mel: Yeah. Agent: If you were to give up your seat you'd be doing coach with layovers. It's not worth it. This voucher… it probably won't even cover what you spent on the ticket. Mel: Okay, sis, this flight is taking me to the wedding of a man I wish I was marrying. The wedding is tomorrow so, I need as many stops as possible so that way I can miss the wedding and ensure that by the time I get there he is long gone. Agent: Say less. Okay, I usually don't book like this unless it's for drunk anti-vaxxers. How's this? JFK to Charlotte, Charlotte to Atlanta, Atlanta to Austin, Austin to LA and LA to Maui. You won't get to Hawaii within the next 48 hours. Mel: Book it. Later in the same episode there was another dig, this time at the expense of white people, which appears to be Hollywood’s favorite target to hate on lately. When Mel sees a couple of guys dressed up in costumes at the diner she’s eating at, she asks the waiter what’s going on. He answers with a bunch of racial stereotypes about white people in a derogatory way: Mel: What is all that about? Lloyd: Penguin Dive! White folks jump in the lake every New Year’s. Mel: Why? Lloyd: I don’t know. Whole lotta sh*t they do that I don’t understand. Eggplant, shiplap, freckles. Haha? We all know if the races and stereotypes were reversed, that line would never have been said. So, why the double standard? As the saying goes, if Hollywood didn’t have double standards, they wouldn’t have any standards at all. It's a shame because this was a really funny and entertaining show aside from the leftist digs. 

It’s not often we’re able to write a positive story on a Hollywood show, but every now and then, one comes along that surprises us. And the season 12 premier of Chicago P.D. did just that. They absolutely deserve kudos for their poignant and powerful portrayal of police bravery and sacrifice.  Episode 1, “Ten Ninety-Nine” introduced a new character, Officer Emily Martel (Victoria Cartagena), who joins main character Officer Adam Ruzek (Patrick John Flueger) on patrol after being on mental leave following the death of her partner. At the end of the episode, viewers got a glimpse of how dangerous the job of an officer is: Martel: So, what's our over-under? Ruzek: Over-under on what? Martel: How long before Voight picks up another scene? I'll put 20 on three hours. Ruzek: Yeah, I'll take the over. Get some sleep.   Martel: I'm starting to get used to it now. There's something about the pace. There's a-- there's a buzz to it. Ruzek: Yeah, a buzz of anxiety. Martel: No, adrenaline. You can't be scared. You just--you got to go. You got to move. It's good. Thank you for, uh, pulling me up. I was beginning to think I'd never be in the field again. Ruzek: You're welcome. You deserve it. Are we having a moment right now? Martel: We're having a moment. Stop! Two shots. Ruzek: Hold on, hold on, hold on. Where the hell did those come from? Martel: I don't know. Woman: What's going on? Ruzek: Police! Ma'am, go back inside, right now! Martel: Hey, you see anything? Ruzek: Martel, you good? Martel? This may be fiction, but it’s an accurate depiction of how things can change on a dime for our heroes in blue - how their loved ones never know if they’ll be coming home each day or night. And, how despite the hate and criticism they receive in our anti-cop culture, they’ll still put their lives on the line to protect us. Episode 2, “Blood Bleeds Blue,” picks back up at the scene, and despite Martel lying dead on the ground, Ruzek can’t cope with what he’s seeing and denies reality: Ruzek: Emily? Emily? Emily! Hold on. Come here. It's ok. Hold on. Hold on. 50-21 Ida, 10-1, 10-1, officer down. We're on the 4500 block of West Mackenzie. I don't have eyes on the offender. I do not have eyes on the offender. I need cars right now. Dispatcher: Copy, 50-21 Ida. Will notify. Ruzek: I got you. Dispatcher: Backup en route. Ruzek: Emily, can you talk? Em? Emily? Cook: CPD! Drop that weapon! Ruzek: I'm police! I'm police! Cook: Drop the weapon! Ruzek: Get down! I'm police. Get down! Get down. Shots came from that blue house back there. Are you responding? Cook: No, I was writing a parker, and I heard the call. I heard the shots. Ruzek: Can you see anything? You have eyes on the offender? Cook: No, nothing. Ruzek: Stay low! Stay low! I'm Ruzek, intelligence. Shots came from that blue house. You see? Ruzek: All right, listen, this is what we're gonna do. We're gonna put her in your car, all right? We're gonna take her to Med in your car. We're not waiting for the ambo. We need to go right now. Officer: Tommy, come here. We're using our car. Ruzek: Easy now. Easy, easy, easy. You're gonna be all right. Watch her head. Officer: I got her. Ruzek: Now, you listen to me. You keep working on her. You hear me? You keep working on her. I don't care if she-- you just keep working. Officer: We got her. The introduction of Officer Kiana Cook (Toya Turner) was also significant. Turner’s own father is an officer, so her respect for the job and her talent as an actress combine for some incredible scenes as she and Ruzek work together to capture the suspect. There’s no race baiting. No race wars. No claiming black officers are hated by everyone and shunned by their fellow officers. Just a completely unified team coming together for a common cause, which is a nice change of pace for a Hollywood show. After the suspect ends up dead, and Ruzek saves the suspect’s child, the reality of the entire ordeal finally hits Ruzek and we get a glimpse of the emotional aftermath: Ruzek: 50-21 Ida, I got an officer down. I need ambos. I got a tender two-year-old. It's all right, man. Voight: Hey, man. Ruzek: You're ok. Voight: Adam, it's over. It's safe. You saved him. Hey? Ruzek: Well done, Officer. Cook: You too, Officer. You too. I’m not crying, you’re…okay, I’m totally crying. Well done, Chicago P.D. Well done. Unlike other shows that try to vilify the police, it’s obvious Chicago P.D. actually works with real-life officers and understands what these heroes go through. As Flueger told TV Insider about the scene: Brian Luce, one of our producers and our tech guy, 21 years on the job as a police officer, told me that the curb is the police officer’s park bench. And when you see an officer sit down like that to try and take a load off, it’s like everybody knows what’s going on... You can just arrive on scene, and if you see somebody sitting like that on the stoop, not moving, not running around doing their job, there’s a reason for it. And he called it the police officer’s park bench. That made my eyes wet just when he said it. So it was kind of an important part of the episode. Showrunner Gwen Sigan added: I think any time that you have a police show and you remind yourself as a writer and also the audience that they are police and that they are going in doors every single day, that they don’t know what’s on the other side, and there is always a threat of danger and violence and a threat to your life, it keeps that reality to it and that authenticity. And so it will be something that I think all of our characters are affected in some way by… This show is exactly what our ACAB culture desperately needs. Keep up the great work, Chicago P.D.

Several media anchors and political commentators slammed Rep. Adam Schiff (D-CA) for his recent letter to Big Tech platforms begging for more censorship. On Thursday, Schiff and seven other Democrats urged social media companies—Meta, Google, X, YouTube, Snap, TikTok, and Microsoft—to prop up their free speech assault ahead of the November election in a likely redux of the 2020 election. Some cable news anchors swiftly scolded the letter, accusing him of “sovietizing” free speech. The criticism came from Fox News with Outnumbered co-hosts Harris Faulkner and Emily Compagno and guests John Yoo and Lisa Kennedy mincing no words regarding Schiff’s latest plan. Newsmax host Chris Plante and his guests on The Right Squad were equally vocal in their critique. “California congressman Adam Schiff and several other Democrats wrote a letter to social media companies urging them to disclose more information about plans to tackle so-called misinformation heading into November,” Faulkner said. Yoo, a Berkeley Law professor, dragged Schiff for his letter flaming the call for censorship. “So the vision of our bill of rights is it is up to us to decide what is information and disinformation. We put out all the ideas, the marketplace of ideas identifies who wins, what's right or wrong,” he said.  Compagno expressed her concern and disenchantment with Schiff’s waste of “tax dollars” to whine about “misinformation.” She stated, “The censorship, the risk, the threat to democracy is all from the Democrats who now have a demonstrably censored and worked with to prevent the American people from having access to make their choice over their agency and their information.”  Kennedy shared her colleagues' concerns, citing back to the Hunter Biden Laptop and Russia Collusion. She scathed, “He's trying to squash speech that is politically inconvenient to him and speech he doesn't like. It has nothing to do with foreign actors. He knew the truth about the Russian collusion hoax and Hunter's laptop and did nothing about it. That was misinformation.” On Newsmax, Plante flamed the letter sent by Schiff and other prominent democrats to Big Tech, thirsty for more censorship. “These guys love censorship. They’re Sovietizing everything” Plante said of Democrats. “They're not First Amendment people. They're not Bill of Rights people. At what point do we say the Democrat Party has become an un-American party now?”  The Right Squad guest Mercedes Schlapp sounded off on the letter and called out the apparatus that pushes censorship, referring back to previous instances of censorship.  “I mean, it is truly outrageous how the government and national security officials have been involved in the censorship game where they play this propaganda, where they put do this propaganda in other countries, and now they've brought this to the United States to shut people down,” Schlapp affirmed.  Conservatives are under attack. Earlier this year, we suggested that the fevered fearmongering of an MSNBC panel brought the mind the Rolling Stones song "Gimme Shelter."  After the rancid rabble-rousing of today's Morning Joe, perhaps, in the run-up to the election, the song should become the official anthem of the liberal media. Joe Scarborough, after calling Trump supporters "stupid" for believing his "lies," kicked off the fearmongering by alluding to, but failing to name, the host of a show on "another network" who supposedly said that elections don't work, and that war is the only solution. John Heilemann, while denying that he is a fearful person, stammered out that if Trump loses: "I'm, I'm, I'm, I'm nervous, very nervous" about what will happen. In the morning's laugh line, Scarborough responded by saying that he's not a "catastrophizer," but, like "everybody," is very concerned.  Not a catastrophizer? The guy's the catastrophizer-in-chief!  Scarborough has spewed out an endlessly putrid stream of accusations about Trump the fascist, the Hitler, the existential threat, the man who will end "Madisonian democracy." The BBC's "special U.S. correspondent" Katty Kay then made explicit the threat of MAGA political violence, saying that: "In a country with so many guns it doesn't take very much. People, perhaps not a huge leap of imagination, to imagine communities that, were Donald Trump were to lose, would see this as a, as a reason, as a giving them permission, if you like, to take out some kind of vengeance on people who didn't vote for him and didn't support him." Kay prefaced her remarks by citing the book "How Democracies Die," in which the authors argue that among the things needed for a democracy to die is the "demonization" of other groups.  It was lost on Kay that the liberal media, as epitomized by Scarborough and his ilk, have made a cottage industry out of demonizing Trump and his supporters.  PS: Kay recently complained on Instagram alongside Anthony Scaramucci that Kamala's surrogates aren't out their spreading her narrative (as if the media isn't doing it). Scaramucci told Kay her Kamala spin is better than the Kamala spinners.  Here's the transcript. Surveillance video of a Kentucky judge getting fatally shot in his chambers last month was shown during a hearing in the case of the sheriff accused of killing him.Spectators cried out in the Morgan County courtroom as the video played last week, WDKY-TV reported.'Everything seemed fine between them. There was no clue that anything was wrong at all.'You can view the surveillance clip of the shooting here; it omits the actual shots being fired, and it's included in a larger video report about the shooting.Former Letcher County Sheriff Shawn “Mickey” Stines appeared before a judge last Tuesday afternoon for a probable cause hearing, WDKY said. State police said Stines, 43, fatally shot District Judge Kevin Mullins in his courthouse chambers in Whitesburg on Sept. 19. Stines — who's accused of shooting Mullins eight times — pleaded not guilty to the murder charge.Kentucky State Police Detective Clayton Stamper testified that the full video of the shooting shows Stines using his own phone to make multiple calls, then using the judge’s phone to make a call, the Louisville Courier Journal reported, adding that the shooting followed.Stamper testified that the calls were to Stines’ daughter, the Courier Journal said. Stamper added that the phones have been sent to forensic teams for examination, the Courier Journal noted, adding that the daughter’s phone has not been examined. Stamper also said the phone number of Stines' daughter had been saved in the judge's phone and was called before the shooting, the Courier Journal reported.However, Kentucky State Police Trooper Matt Gayheart told WDKY in a separate story that contrary to how it was stated in court, investigators won’t know if the number of Stines' daughter was saved in Mullins’ phone until forensic reports come back in a few weeks. But the call log reportedly showed her number had been called prior to the shooting, the station noted.The shooting is particularly curious since Stines and Mullins reportedly had been decades-long friends. What's more, the pair went to lunch at the Streetside Grill & Bar on Main Street just hours before the shooting, the Daily Mail reported. A restaurant employee told the outlet that Stines and Mullins ordered their usual lunch — both having chicken wings with salad."Everything seemed fine between them. There was no clue that anything was wrong at all," an employee said. "You wouldn't have guessed there was the slightest problem."A woman who reportedly works for the Letcher County Sheriff’s Office also gave her phone to investigators for examination, WDKY said, adding that Stamper testified that she was one of Stines’ employees and believed she’d received text messages from Stines that noted what occurred at lunch and led to the shooting.Under cross-examination, Stamper said that when Stines "was taken into custody, I was told by one of the other officers that were there that he made the comment, ‘They’re trying to kidnap my wife and kid,'" WDKY added.Stines' lawyer also argued that the charges against his client should be lowered to manslaughter given Stamper’s testimony claiming the shooting was the result of “extreme emotional disturbance" and there's no evidence showing the shooting was planned.Court documents indicated that the defense established probable cause in last Tuesday’s hearing, and the case is set to be heard by a grand jury, WDKY reported.Like Blaze News?
