Vice President Kamala Harris’ campaign put out a statement falsely claiming her running mate, Minnesota Gov. Tim Walz, had “chaired” the Veterans Affairs Committee. The statement came as the campaign defended Walz’s military record, which has been heavily scrutinized since he was announced as Harris’ VP pick. The statement, given to media outlets such as Axios, defended Walz’s service in general terms before falsely claiming he chaired the influential committee. “After 24 years of military service, Governor Walz retired in 2005 and ran for Congress, where he chaired Veterans Affairs and was a tireless advocate for our men and women in uniform — and as Vice President of the United States he will continue to be a relentless champion for our veterans and military families,” the campaign said. But as Real Clear Politics reported, Walz never chaired the committee. He spent more than a decade in the House of Representatives and rose to become the ranking member on the Veterans Affairs Committee – meaning he was the highest ranking member for the party not in power – but he never actually chaired the committee. A Harris aide told RCP that the campaign made “an innocent mistake” in making the claim. “Governor Walz was ranking member/top Democrat on the House Committee on Veterans’ Affairs,” a spokesperson told the outlet. The “mistake” comes after Walz’s misleading comments about his military service became national news. Walz has repeatedly claimed he retired as a “command sergeant major,” when he, in fact, retired as a master sergeant because he didn’t meet the conditions to maintain his promotion to command sergeant major. In an open letter posted to Facebook in 2018, retired Command Sergeants Major Thomas Behrends and Paul Herr wrote that Walz retired just a few months after receiving a warning order that his battalion would be deployed to Iraq – even though he told military personnel he would be going on the mission. “On May 16th, 2005, [Walz] quit, betraying his country, leaving the 1-125th Field Artillery Battalion and its Soldiers hanging; without its senior Non-Commissioned Officer, as the battalion prepared for war,” Behrends and Herr wrote. Mexican drug cartels are using drones packed with explosives in an area just south of the U.S. southern border, alarming members of the U.S. military as well as lawmakers in Congress. Los Salazar, a cell of the infamous Sinaloa Cartel, is dropping explosives on its rival cartel Los Pelones only two miles from the U.S. border, the New York Post reported. In March, Air Force Gen. Gregory Guillot, commander of North American Defense Command and US Northern Command, told the Senate Armed Services Committee that more than 1,000 drones a month were crossing the U.S. border; border agents told The Post the cartels used drones to surveil U.S. law enforcement. Sen. Joni Ernst (R-IA) who, back in December 2023, joined House Conference Chair Elise Stefanik (R-NY) in urging the Department of Defense (DoD) to prevent U.S. technology from equipping Chinese-backed drones, has introduced an amendment to the NDAA requiring the DoD to implement countermeasures against drones by creating a Counter Unmanned Aviation Systems (CUAS) task force, the Post reported. Almost none of our domestic military bases have the sensors to identify small drones. … The United States must launch a broad overhaul of its detection capabilities and streamline its ability to respond once a threat is identified.  … As Iran’s attack on Israel proved, our adversaries see drones as an inexpensive, deadly solution to penetrate the most sophisticated layered air defenses. There is no reason to think the challenge is limited to the skies over Iraq and Israel; it could threaten the United States, and fast. That means U.S. policymakers have no time to spare in generating a better blueprint for defenses against drones.

An anti-Israel group that claims to represent “thousands of Columbia students” publicly acknowledged a deeper truth: they are fighting to “eradicate” Western civilization. So, of course, the rapper had to give the routine a soundtrack. While the horse danced to the beat, he was doing a great job showing off his delicate footwork. If the judges were half as impressed as Snoop Dog and Martha Stewart, he would fare well in the competition. Gin And Juice: An Impressive Performance As he begins to lift his feet and jump in time with the music, you can hear Snoop Dogg’s surprise. He shouts, “Get cracking! Yes, yes!” as he snaps and moves his body to the same beat of the horse’s footsteps. Martha Stewart chimes in from beside him, “Look at that! Look at that!” As Snoop Dog watches this horse’s incredible display, he begins to freestyle the special moment. As the horse and rider begin to switch up their movements, Snoop Dogg is again impressed. “Oh that’s that side walk right there Martha” he narrates. Martha gives the horse even more credit when she says, “Yes, and four feet are a lot harder than two feet.” From there, Snoop Dog decides to show off his own fancy footwork, inspired by this impressive Olympic dressage horse’s performance. Later, in an interview, Snoop Dog admits, “Honestly, Mike, this is one of my new favorite sports.” He continues, “I didn’t realize that I really love the chemistry between the driver and the horse.” “It felt good sitting in the audience and watching it,” Snoop Dog told the NBC Olympics. “He got very excited, and he was really into it,” Martha Stewart said from beside him. Stewart then shared that they watched about four other Olympic dressage horse performances. Snoop Dogg Conquers His Fears Besides having a great time, watching this sport with his best friend is helping him overcome one of his biggest fears. In the same interview, Snoop Dog expressed how big of a deal it was for him to have fed these Olympic horses. He states, “I am really scared of horses.” It is so great that Snoop Dog is enjoying himself and conquering his fears.
