Someone made the Vision Pro way more comfortable with one simple tweak

Someone made the Vision Pro way more comfortable with one simple tweak

With the Apple Vision Pro now available in the US‚ some customers have complained about its weight‚ which is almost the same as the last-generation 12.9-inch iPad Pro. While Apple has its own solution to improve it by adding a Dual Loop band‚ someone on Reddit went a step further and added the ultimate band for comfort while wearing the headset. The Dual Loop band features a pair of upper and lower straps for a precise fit‚ but they're not as comfortable as the Solo Knit band‚ which provides cushioning‚ breathability‚ and stretch. With that in mind‚ this Apple Vision Pro customer spent an additional $100 to attach a second Solo Knit band to the existing Solo Knit band on Vision Pro. "I really like the softness and engineering of the Solo Knit band‚ so I decided to try and experiment‚" said Grimdar on Reddit. "I am blown away by the comfort. The dual loop band is comfortable‚ but this really allows your blood to flow around your head and is so much softer. Since the attachment point is further up‚ it lifts the headset away from your face a bit more. For the second iteration‚ I will be 3D printing a part to make it look a lot better. Also SO much easier to adjust. I'm surprised Apple did not come up with this in the first place." Image source: grimdar/Reddit Although it looks like the perfect solution‚ it's an expensive one: "The downside is you have to buy an extra band‚ which is $100. In my opinion‚ though‚ it's totally worth it. For the second iteration‚ I will be 3D printing a part to make it look a lot better." Apple Vision Pro Redditors were amazed by this hack‚ which looks way more comfortable than wearing the device with only a Solo Knit band or the Dual Loop band. Have you thought about using two Solo Knit bands? Have you discovered any other Apple Vision Pro hacks? Send me a message at jose@bgr.com if so. 3 AI chatbots predict the winner of the 2024 Super Bowl

While others are looking to experts to make predictions about who will win the upcoming Super Bowl‚ Tom's Guide AI editor Ryan Morrison took his questions to the three biggest AI chatbots on the planet. And‚ according to Morrison's report‚ all three AI Super Bowl predictions say the Kansas City Chiefs will take home the trophy. It's an interesting experiment that isn't wholly unexpected‚ given how big ChatGPT and other chatbots like it have become. Morrison says that he wanted to see just how the three different bots could take the data from the NFL and create their own predictions of how the upcoming Super Bowl would play out. The result was actually quite detailed. Morrison notes that the three programs he turned to -- ChatGPT‚ Google Bard with Gemini Pro‚ and Claude from Anthropic -- all said the same thing: that the Kansas City Chiefs would bring home the win. Further‚ they even shared their predictions for final scores and MVP nominations. Open AI's ChatGPT start page. Image source: Jonathan S. Geller Morrison says that he used the regular season win records‚ point differentials‚ strength of schedule‚ injuries‚ rankings‚ QB performance‚ weather‚ coaching records‚ playoff experience‚ and even recent trends to train the AI. From there‚ he also added in red zone efficiency‚ turnover differentials‚ third-down conversation rates‚ field goal percentages‚ and a slew of other important data. This‚ Morrison says‚ gave the AI a ton of information to use while weaving its Super Bowl predictions. According to ChatGPT‚ The Chiefs will win with a final score of 30-27. Bard says that the Chiefs will bring home the game with a final score of 28-24‚ and finally‚ Claude says the Chiefs will end the game with a final score of 31-27 in their favor. The chatbots also provided some predictions about the way the game will play out‚ including ChatGPT's prediction that pivotal turnovers and critical third-down conversions by Patrick Mahomes will play an important role in the Chief's winning the game. You can read through Morrison's entire report if you want to see more about how he trained the AI. But it is interesting to think of how close AI Super Bowl predictions may come to the real thing. Like any predictions‚ these are just based on tons and tons of data. But data doesn't always tell the entire story‚ not in something like this‚ where humans are actively involved and constantly changing the way they play. AI scammer stole $25 million with deepfake conference call

AI scammer stole $25 million with deepfake conference call

While artificial intelligence becoming sentient and taking over the world is an increasingly valid concern‚ the technology is already incredibly dangerous in the wrong hands. Over the weekend‚ the South China Morning Post (via Ars Technica) reported on a thief who drained a multinational company's Hong Kong branch of HK$200 million ($25.6 million USD) by using clever deepfake technology to stage a fake video conference call. According to the report‚ an employee in the company's finance department received a phishing message claiming to be from the chief financial officer (CFO) in the UK. The message instructed the employee to execute a secret transaction‚ but the employee was not convinced. That's when AI took center stage to bring the scam home. Using deepfake technology‚ the scammer hosted a conference call featuring videos of the CFO and other employees to convince the victim to transfer the money. Seeing co-workers on video was enough to convince the victim to initiate the transaction. The victim made 15 transfers to five different Hong Kong bank accounts. A week later‚ company officials were made aware of the scam and called the police. The report notes that the scammer was able to forge believable digital recreations of the victim's co-workers by using publicly available audio and video footage found online. The investigation is currently ongoing‚ and no arrests have been made yet. Fears of AI rising up to overthrow humankind are valid‚ but the robots aren't coming for us quite yet. Criminals are‚ though‚ and they have a knack for making use of the latest and greatest tools to scam us out of our money. These are the issues that will actually impact us‚ so we need to be more cautious than ever when receiving suspicious texts and emails.
