Over the weekend, Fox & Friends Saturday helped debunk claims by liberals that two women died because of Georgia's abortion ban as the show had on Dr. Christina Francis to discuss the issue. Co-host Rachel Campos-Duffy introduced the segment by playing a clip of Democrat presidential nominee Kamala Harris trying to scare an audience about abortion: RACHEL CAMPOS-DUFFY: Vice President Harris is calling out Trump's pro-life agenda as Democrats believe abortion will motivate voters across key battlegrounds. VICE PRESIDENT KAMALA HARRIS: At least two women -- and those are only the stories we know -- here in the state of Georgia, died -- died because of the Trump abortion ban. Showing on screen an image of an op-ed in The Atlanta Journal Constitution, Campus-Duffy soon introduced her pro-life guest: But in her new op-ed, our next guest explains why this is not the case. Dr. Christina Francis is CEO of the American Association of Pro-Life Obstetricians and Gynecologists, and she joins us now. Doctor, it's so great to have you on on such an important topic because there's a lot of lies being told right now. So explain to us exactly why did Amber Nicole Thurman die. Dr. Francis recalled that Amber Nicole Thurman traveled to North Carolina to get an abortion and was given two medications to induce the abortion in spite of those who argue the medications are unsafe: And when she was nine weeks pregnant, she drove to North Carolina for what she thought was going to be a surgical abortion, and then the reports actually state that just an employee of the clinic gave her the high-risk abortion drugs, mifepristone and misoprostol, and she took those drugs and, unfortunately, four to five days later, she went to her local hospital because she got heavy bleeding. She was vomiting blood. She then argued that, after Thurman became ill back home in Georgia, and the hospital she went to mishandled the situation and failed to do what it should have to save her life: Further reports she had passed out, and she showed up at her local hospital with what is very clear to me -- and I think I said in my op-ed -- even a first-year resident would be able to make the diagnosis of sepsis from an incomplete abortion, which we know to be a risk of taking these drugs. And, unfortunately, her doctors did not appear to treat her by the standard of care which would have been an immediate D&C and then antibiotics, and they waited 20 hours before they took her to the operating room. And at that point, she was in multi-system organ failure, and she was on medications to keep her blood pressure up because of the sepsis. And, unfortunately, she died on the operating room table. Dr. Francis then complained about Democrats and the media causing harm by misinforming women: "You know, it's really unfortunate that politicians like Vice President Harris and the media are trying to blame this on laws like Georgia's law that actually protects women and their children. And we know that Amber and her unborn children were victims of these high-risk abortion drugs." But they always want to push these pills are always safe and effective, and never cause complications. Referring to the case of Candi Miller's death, Campos-Duffy played a clip of another pro-life physician, Dr. Susan Bane, who has also accused the media of endangering women with misinformation: I'm mad because this woman didn't have to die. This woman did not die because -- as it is journalists report that a D&C procedure -- which is a minor surgical procedure -- couldn't have been done on this woman. Based on the timeline and her symptoms, she should have had it done as soon as she could get to the hospital. It was medical negligence. (editing jump) What's also negligent is the reporting I'm seeing over and over. You are harming women. You're scaring them to seek care. Stop it. And when things go wrong -- we know there's been an increase, I think, of 500 percent of emergency room visits -- and those are the ones we know of because we've been hearing reports that some of these clinics that are giving out the pills are telling women when they have these issues to just call and say, "I'm having a miscarriage." Which is true -- they're having -- but they're having -- this is from taking these abortion drugs. I want you to look at this clip because there are OBGYNs who are very angry about the lies being told because it's dangerous to tell lies and not tell the truth about what these pills do. Listen. There was a second story out of Georgia of another woman, Candi Miller, who her family states actually stayed at home when she was suffering complications again of these high-risk abortion drugs because she was afraid to go to the hospital because of things that she had heard that were false about Georgia's law. You know, we are seeing the direct results of spreading lies and misinformation about these laws. Women are being harmed by that because they are delaying in seeking care. And so I think it's really important no matter where somebody stands on the issue of abortion, we should all want women to have accurate information so that they seek care immediately if they're experiencing complications from things like these high-risk abortion drugs. Politico cartoonist Matt Wuerker has a big problem ...at least in his own mind. How to caricature Kamala Harris without appearing to be racist. The funny thing is that this obsession seems to have been shared with none of the other cartoonists that Wuerker contacted on this topic on Sunday in  "‘It’s a Minefield’: Top Political Cartoonists on the Challenges of Caricaturing Kamala Harris." "It's a minefield?" Apparently only in the very very concerned mind of Matt Wuerker since that headline quote comes from ...Wuerker. Let us now join Wuerker rubbing his caricaturist worry beads: When a new, potentially presidential face arrives on the scene, a fierce debate ensues among the cartoonists. What are the features that stand out? How far can we tug on those ears? Lampoon a nose? Mock the haircut? What about the clothes and the body language? Is the necktie too long? Is the pantsuit fair game? How far is too far? Today, that conversation requires us to wrestle with old toxic racial and ethnic stereotypes that were, sadly enough, immensely popular in earlier times. And unfortunately, that kind of racism remains a radioactive aspect of political cartooning, right up to the current generation of ink-stained wretches. Given that ongoing legacy, the caricature of Kamala Harris, possibly our first Black, South Asian-descended, female president, isn’t just precedent setting. It’s a minefield for cartoonists — even more so because it’s a profession that’s overwhelmingly dominated by white men of a certain age. With that in mind, we checked in with some of the nation’s top political cartoonists to see how they’re homing in on the caricature of Kamala. Wuerker then checks in with six cartoonists, and none of them shared his view on the perils of caricaturing Kamala, at least not in the sentence of reaction that's published. Alexandra Bowman just said “I love how Kamala Harris’ default emotion seems to be joy.” Well, that's not quite right. The sixth cartoonist was Wuerker himself who weighed in with this: “You know, in the good ol’ days cartoonists just needed to draw old fat white guys...” Obsessed much, Matt? You appear to be alone.

Kamala Harris continues to collect endorsements from establishmentarians with links to the military-industrial complex and security state. On Sunday, several hundred former officials who served in the George W. Bush, Clinton, George H.W. Bush, Obama, and Biden administrations joined a handful of nominal Republicans in signing a letter of support for Harris. Their letter, advanced by the advocacy group National Security Leaders for America, contains the kind of rhetoric that set the stage for two attempts on President Donald Trump's life and appears to have left nearly 3 in 10 Democrats polled wishing Trump had been killed. It states, "This election is a choice between serious leadership and vengeful impulsiveness. It is a choice between democracy and authoritarianism." The letter, signed by some architects of disastrous foreign entanglements, including what was for private contractors an extremely lucrative war in Iraq, stated, "We are trained to make sober, rational decisions. That is how we know Vice President Harris would make an excellent Commander-in-Chief, while Mr. Trump has proven he is not up to the job." The letter further alleges that Harris "has proven she is an effective leader able to advance American national security interests" and that she is "prepared and strategic." 'You need a president that's not going to be taking you into war.' The signatories were evidently content to overlook Harris' hand in the current Democratic administration's deadly withdrawal from Afghanistan, her ostensible abandonment of Americans in Haiti during its latest collapse, her failure as border czar to stem the flood of tens of millions of illegal aliens into the country, and the glaring fact that Russia invaded Ukraine during the Biden-Harris and Obama administrations, not Trump's. It's clear that the former security and military officials figure Trump — the first president since Richard Nixon not to kick off a new war or military conflict while in office — will make good on his promise of peace and relative non-interventionism. After all, their letter bemoans the Republican's decision to withdraw from what he called another "endless war" in Syria, his criticism of allies — a likely allusion to Trump's pointed demands that NATO members meet their spending obligations — and his supposed ceding of "influence in the Middle East to Russia, Iran, and China." During a town hall interview earlier this month with Sean Hannity in Harrisburg, Pennsylvania, Trump said, "You need a president that's not going to be taking you into war. We won't have World War III when I'm elected, but with these clowns that you have in there now, you're going to end up having World War III." 'They get rich when America's sons and daughters go off to die.' Among the signatories of the letter are several partisan ambassadors as well as John Kerry, Biden's former special presidential envoy for climate; former Biden domestic policy adviser and Obama national security adviser Susan Rice; Clinton adviser Nancy Soderberg; Obama speechwriter and national security adviser Ben Rhodes; Obama adviser Caroline Atkinson; Clinton national security adviser Anthony Lake; Janet Ann Napolitano, the Obama Homeland Security secretary who concern-mongered about Iraq and Afghanistan veterans returning from war as right-wing extremists; and Rt. Brigadier Gen. John Wade Douglass, a failed Democratic congressional candidate and former CEO of the Douglass Aerospace Group. Trump campaign spokesman Steven Cheung told Axios in a statement that the letter's signatories "are the same people who got our country into endless foreign wars and profited off of them while the American people suffered." This latest endorsement by establishmentarians comes just weeks after former Jan. 6 committee member Liz Cheney endorsed Harris "because of the danger that Donald Trump poses." Cheney, who was overwhelmingly rejected by Republican voters in Wyoming in 2022, previously called Harris "a radical liberal who wants to raise your taxes, take away your guns and your health insurance, explode the size of our federal government and give it control over every aspect of our lives." Sen. JD Vance (R-Ohio) said of Cheney's endorsement, "Kamala Harris and Liz Cheney make very, very interesting partners. They get rich when America's sons and daughters go off to die. They get rich when America loses wars instead of winning wars. And they get rich when America gets weaker in the world." In August, scores of Republican staffers who served under President George W. Bush, the late Sen. John McCain (Ariz.), and failed presidential candidate Sen. Mitt Romney (Utah) threw their support behind Harris, claiming another four years of Trump would alternatively "hurt real, everyday people and weaken our sacred institutions." Like Blaze News? Thousands of Hezbollah operatives have been wounded in Lebanon after their pagers spontaneously blew up — nearly simultaneously — in an unprecedented attack that is believed to have been carried out by Israel. “It looks like Israel somehow got into the supply chain, which means that it’s likely that these terrorists bought those pagers from Israel,” Karol Markowicz, New York Post columnist and host of “The Karol Markowicz Show,” tells Jill Savage and Matthew Peterson of “Blaze News Tonight.” “We don’t know exactly how they did it; that’s really a great mystery right now, how they got them all to detonate at the same time. All of that is really a large question,” she adds. Peter Gietl, managing editor for Return and Frontier magazine, is curious as to where this leads. “Are you concerned at all, Karol, about this broadening the conflict in the region?” he asks. “Obviously, as you correctly pointed out, this has been going on since last year, but I mean, is there a danger that this could escalate into a full war with Iran or at least Iranian proxies in Lebanon?” “I’m afraid for everybody in the Middle East,” she answers. Perhaps even more concerning is that a phone can so easily be turned into a bomb. “I think we should note,” Peterson adds, “what it presents is the possibility that you can create technology that has a bomb in it that could go off later on.” “That’s not impossible if what we just saw is possible, which would mean that you could sell products that you could essentially use as bombs any time. I think that is unlocking the imagination to a lot of dark possibilities for a lot of people right now,” he adds. Two were killed and three wounded — including two teen girls — in a shooting early Saturday morning around the intersection Hennepin and Fifth in downtown Minneapolis.It was the second straight weekend that a killing took place around that intersection. The previous Saturday, a 16-year-old girl was killed after a hit-and-run driver plowed into a crowd following a late-night fight.'You are not going to have downtown Minneapolis recover until you have safe streets and clean streets.'In regard to the latest killing, Minneapolis Police Assistant Chief Katie Blackwell told KMSP-TV, "Five families had their lives changed last night, and our hearts go out to them. It’s extraordinarily tragic."Blackwell added to the station, "These arguments escalate into violence so quickly."Investigators told KMSP there's no apparent connection between the incidents — but that hasn't eased the mind of at least one local business owner."It happened two weeks in a row. Why couldn’t it happen three weeks in a row?" Daniel Stensgaard — owner of Daniel’s Custom Clothing, a high-end store overlooking the intersection — asked the station."I just don’t even feel comfortable anymore," Stensgaard remarked to KMSP about the city, noting that he's planning to relocate his shop within 45 days."It’s sad that I’m reading about 14, 16, 17-year-olds," he added to the station. "Crime [on] Hennepin Avenue has always been a bit notorious, but nothing like this… you are not going to have downtown Minneapolis recover until you have safe streets and clean streets."In regard to the latest killing, KMSP said police recovered a gun at the scene of the shooting and arrested one person for rioting.Concerning the previous killing on Sept. 14, officers responded to a report of a hit-and-run crash on Fifth Street North at Hennepin Avenue around 12:23 a.m., and police said a female suspect drove in reverse on Hennepin and then drove the wrong way on Fifth Street into the crowd.Six people were taken to Hennepin Healthcare, including the 16-year-old girl who later died; another victim sustained life-threatening injuries while a handful of others suffered less serious injuries.Stensgaard spoke to WCCO-TV about the first incident, telling the station that city leaders "should have their asses down here starting at 11 o'clock at night and let them walk around and watch the shortage of police officers and what's happened."You can read a video report here about both killings.Like Blaze News? Lynda Carter, star of the hit 1970s television program "Wonder Woman," has openly endorsed the two Democrats running against her sister in a race for the Arizona state House.Carter's only sister, Pamela Carter, is running as a Republican for one of two seats representing District 4. According to an X post, sister Lynda hopes Pamela's Democratic opponents prevail instead."As a native Arizonan, I am proud to endorse @KelliButlerAZ and @KarenGreshamAZ for the two LD4 seats in Arizona's State House," Lynda Carter wrote earlier this month.In the post, she also described both Butler and Gresham as "strong" and "experienced."Butler formerly served in the Arizona House and currently sits on the Maricopa Community College District Board, the New York Post reported. Gresham is the president of the Madison Elementary School Board.Reports suggest ... that the issue on which the two Carter women differ most is abortion."That was very exciting. I was very honored to have the endorsement of Wonder Woman herself, Lynda Carter," Gresham later stated, according to AZ Family.Lynda Carter indicated in her post that she prefers Butler and Gresham to sister Pamela because of the issue of education, claiming that the two Democrat women "are working mothers fighting for the rights that matter most to Arizonans, especially every child’s right to a quality education."However, reports suggest instead that the issue on which the two Carter women differ most is abortion. Pamela is running on a pro-life platform, while Lynda, an outspoken liberal who has endorsed Kamala Harris, is ardently pro-choice.Pamela, a gym owner and exercise enthusiast who once starred in a fitness-related TV program, also served as the Arizona director of Trump's 2020 presidential campaign."A reformer, small business owner, and lifelong Arizonan, Pamela has the skills and passions needed to fix what is broken in our state government and provide our state with excellent jobs, schools, and quality of life," her website reads.Though she and Lynda may not always see eye to eye regarding politics, Pamela remains devoted to her sister. "I love my sister even though her politics are very far left and we disagree on some issues," she said in a statement regarding Lynda's endorsements. "That doesn’t change how I feel about her, so you won’t catch me criticizing her or bad-mouthing her in the press."Currently, one Republican, Matt Gress, and one Democrat, Eric Meyer, represent District 4.
