President Joe Biden will veto the House GOP proposal to combine a short-term spending measure with an election integrity bill if it passes through both chambers of Congress, the White House announced on Monday. The Office of Management and Budget (OMB) released a statement that said the Biden administration “strongly opposes” the passage of H.R.9494, which would provide funding for the federal government for six months — through March 28 — in addition to instituting the Safeguard American Voter Eligibility (SAVE) Act. “Instead of working in a bipartisan manner to keep the Government open and provide emergency funding for disaster needs, House Republicans have chosen brinkmanship,” the OMB said in its statement of policy, adding later, “If the President were presented with H.R. 9494, he would veto it.” The SAVE Act, which passed the House as a standalone bill in July with some bipartisan support but never got taken up by the Democrat-controlled Senate, aims to require that individuals show proof of U.S. citizenship to register to vote in elections for federal office and pushes states to remove non-citizens from voter rolls. Proponents of the SAVE Act argue the bill is necessary to shore up the security of the voting process. In vouching for the legislation, House Speaker Mike Johnson (R-LA) released a white paper that warned of a National Voter Registration Act “loophole” in which states do not ask for proof of citizenship when registering an individual to vote in federal elections and cited evidence of noncitizens appearing on voter rolls in places such as Massachusetts, Ohio, and Virginia. “There is a danger that the NVRA loophole, combined with the Biden Administration’s willful disregard of U.S. immigration law that has allowed the U.S. foreign-born population to grow by 5.1 million people in the last two years alone and by 6.6 million since President Biden took office, could lead to millions of noncitizens registering to vote,” the paper said. “Should this happen, it would jeopardize the integrity of our elections, turning the outcome of the 2024 election over to foreign persons and potentially even foreign interests.” The OMB’s policy statement claimed the SAVE Act is “unnecessary” because it is already a federal crime for noncitizens to vote in federal elections and states already have “effective safeguards” in place. Further, the bill would make it “much harder for all eligible Americans to register to vote and increase the risk that eligible voters are purged from voter rolls,” the statement added. Congress is running out of time to reach a deal on a short-term spending measure if lawmakers returning to Washington, D.C., from their summer recess are unable to pass appropriations legislation to fund the various federal agencies for the coming fiscal year. A government shutdown could happen by the beginning of October without some kind of agreement in the coming weeks. Democrat lawmakers, joined by at least a couple of Republicans, have come out against the House GOP plan to link a six-month spending bill combined with the SAVE Act. There also seems to be disagreement over how far a continuing resolution should go. Axios reported Democrats and the White House prefer a three-month spending measure, which would lead to a December lame-duck session on government funding — once it is clear which party won the presidential election and control of the two chambers of Congress in 2025. The OMB statement criticized the six-month continuing resolution on a number of fronts, saying it would be particularly “irresponsible” in regard to national security because it would “would erode our military advantage relative to the People’s Republic of China, degrade readiness, and fail to provide the support our troops deserve.” It also said a “CR ending March 28th also takes the Congress dangerously close to the deadline when across-the-board cuts would come into place next year, as dictated by the Fiscal Responsibility Act of 2023.” Fox News reported on Monday that Johnson said he believes the House can pass a continuing resolution with the provision of requiring proof of citizenship. In a post to X, senior congressional correspondent Chad Pergram noted that he asked the speaker what his fallback position was, to which Johnson replied, “There is no fallback position. This is a righteous fight.”

Vice President Kamala Harris pledged during her presidential campaign in 2019 to use taxpayer money to fund sex change surgeries for illegal aliens locked up in detention, according to a largely ignored questionnaire that she filled out at the time. CNN’s Andrew Kaczynski reported that the then-senator indicated on the American Civil Liberties Union questionnaire that she supported decriminalizing federal drug possession, making “drastic cuts” to Immigration and Customs Enforcement (ICE) and pledged to no longer detain illegal aliens. Harris was asked on the questionnaire if she as president would use “executive authority to ensure that transgender and non-binary people who rely on the state for medical care – including those in prison and immigration detention – will have access to comprehensive treatment associated with gender transition, including all necessary surgical care.” She answered, “Yes.” Harris explained her answer by claiming that it was “important that transgender individuals who rely on the state for care receive the treatment they need, which includes access to treatment associated with gender transition.” “Transition treatment is a medical necessity, and I will direct all federal agencies responsible for providing essential medical care to deliver transition treatment,” she claimed. Harris’ campaign did not answer questions about whether she still supports these extreme far-left policies. “The Vice President’s positions have been shaped by three years of effective governance as part of the Biden-Harris Administration,” the campaign claimed. “As President, she will take that same pragmatic approach, focusing on common-sense solutions for the sake of progress.” Harris’ campaign has claimed on numerous occasions that she no longer supports many of the extreme positions that she had during the 2020 election. However, the statements often only come from the unnamed sources on the campaign that mainstream publications grant complete anonymity to. Hollywood star Kathy Bates announced that she’s done her final project and will retire once the reboot of CBS’ “Matlock” airs later this month. Speaking to The New York Times, the 76-year-old actress shared how she had planned on retiring before she was sent the script to play Madeline Matlock in the reboot of the popular attorney TV series that aired from 1986-1995 and had Andy Griffith playing the lead. “This is my last dance,” Bates said as she revealed that she knew it was time to quit after she ended up crying on her sofa during an unnamed movie shoot. “It becomes my life,” she added. “Sometimes I get jealous of having this talent. Former President Donald Trump plans to hold Vice President Kamala Harris accountable for President Joe Biden’s “nightmare” administration at Tuesday’s presidential debate, Trump advisers said Monday. Trump senior adviser Jason Miller, joined by Rep. Matt Gaetz of Florida and former congresswoman Tulsi Gabbard, discussed Trump’s debate strategy on a call with reporters Monday afternoon. Trump will focus on communicating his own “record of success” and highlighting how the Biden-Harris administration has “broken this country” when he takes the debate stage in Philadelphia, Miller said. Gaetz pointed out that the “stakes are higher” for Harris since she has not been taking questions from the media, instead remaining “wrapped in bubble wrap since securing the nomination.” “It’s very clear that Kamala Harris is the one who’s been running the country the entire time,” Miller said. “You can’t talk about turning the page when you’re the one who created our current nightmare. You just can’t.” As “Border Czar,” Miller said, Harris is responsible for the ongoing border crisis. He highlighted her deciding vote for two stimulus bills “which led to sky-high inflation,” and noted that she boasted about being the last person in the room before Biden carried out the “disastrous” Afghanistan withdrawal. The Florida congressman also pointed out that Harris is “not some new arrival in American politics,” before listing off her “dangerously liberal” record on crime, progressive prosecutors, the border, and more. Gabbard similarly critiqued Harris’s record on foreign policy, calling Harris’s decisions “disastrous” and accusing her of embroiling the United States in “wars spanning three continents.” “She’s shown how little she values the relationship with Israel through her actions,” Gabbard said, noting that Harris skipped Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu’s joint address to Congress and critiquing Harris for going “back and forth” on the question of enacting an arms embargo against Israel as the country seeks to defeat Hamas. Gabbard referenced the attempted terrorist attack that American authorities uncovered days before the anniversary of 9/11. “Kamala Harris refuses to use the term ‘radical Islamist terrorism,’ which begs the question, how can the American people actually trust her to defeat this threat that is still ever present ideologically and militarily if she doesn’t understand it and refuses to identify it?” Gabbard asked. “You can’t.” Harris, meanwhile, has spent the last week in a Pittsburgh hotel preparing for the debate in “highly choreographed debate practice sessions” with an adviser who is not only acting like Trump, but dressed like him, according to The New York Times. The Times reports that Harris will try to portray Trump as a rich, “stale old act” who is focused only on helping the wealthy. Rather than tell voters that Trump is evil, Harris will reportedly try to win over undecided voters who are concerned about the economy and want to hear from both Trump and Harris on how the candidates will improve Americans’ lives.

Just like he did with “What Is a Woman?” in 2022, the Daily Wire podcast host managed to expose the sham of left-wing activists, making them the butt of the joke without them realizing it, while simultaneously drawing attention to critical social topics. Walsh sat down with Ben Shapiro for an episode of his popular “Sunday Special” series to discuss the humorous elements of this latest exposé, which explores the massive grift of the DEI industry. First, Shapiro asked about Walsh’s acting background, mentioning how there are some parts in “Am I Racist?” where he needed to use those kinds of skills. That’s my whole process,” he said. “It’s actually kind of easy,” Walsh continued. “Like, I think anyone can be a passable actor.” Walsh also talked about his legendary ability to keep a deadpan demeanor even in extreme situations. “I mean, the answer of doing the deadpan is I was born without a soul,” the podcast host said. “I don’t know…  I’m an emotionless freak, I suppose is the answer. People ask me that all the time, but how do you manage that? Like, that’s just that’s how I am, I guess.” “I guess when you have this thing of not showing emotions, you have to find a way to channel it,” he added. Later, the pair discussed some of the preparation that went into the film, including Shapiro asking if Walsh had actually read all the anti-racist propaganda that was featured in the comedy. Walsh said he did read “White Fragility” in preparation for his conversation with author Robin DiAngelo. “Truly, an awful piece of s***,” Shapiro said of the best-selling book. “It’s horrific,” Walsh agreed. “So, you know from reading the book that it’s not only [that] the ideas are terrible, obviously, but it’s also just bad writing. It’s a slog to get through. There’s nothing entertaining. It’s just like being nagged while you sit there for hours reading this book. It’s just a very unpleasant experience.” Walsh said he didn’t feel that it was necessary to read all the DEI books because they all repeated the same stale talking points.  “Once you read one book… you get the idea. It’s always the same thing. It’s the same ideas. All the people we talked to in the film, they all have the same central thesis, which is that white people are inherently racist and are the villains of history” he said.  The conversation inevitably turned to some of the people featured in “Am I Racist?” including DiAngelo herself. Walsh said he hasn’t heard from her team yet despite her being featured in the movie trailer, but that one extremely embarrassing moment did get included in the final cut. “Probably a lot of them are sitting kind of nervous right now and thinking about embarrassing things they said and thinking like, ‘God, I hope that didn’t make it into the film,’” Walsh said. “I can tell them right now it did And to Robin D’Angelo in particular, there’s one moment that she’s thinking, ‘My gosh, I hope that’s not in there.” Oh it is, Robin.
