Even Extreme UV from Massive Stars Can't Stop Planets from Forming

We know that planets form in protoplanetary disks, swirling collections of gas and dust that rotate around very young stars. But we don't know all the details, partly because it's difficult to see inside these disks and watch the process unfold. One question astronomers want an answer to concerns ultraviolet radiation. Does extreme ultraviolet radiation disrupt the planet-forming process?

HERMES-PF's 6 CubeSats Watch The Entire Sky For High-Energy Bursts

Multi-messenger astronomy has been all the rage lately. It involves capturing data on the gravitational and electromagnetic signals from catastrophic cosmic events. However, with that newfound interest comes required updates to infrastructure. Gravitational wave detectors have been upgraded and will be even more sensitive soon. But to realize the promise of multi-messenger astronomy, scientists must have a fleet of spacecraft watching the entire sky for high-energy signals indicative of the events that cause gravitational waves. At least, that is the team's long-term plan behind the High Energy Rapid Modular Ensemble of Satellites Pathfinder (HERMES-PF) mission, which successfully launched in March and is currently undergoing commissioning.

Morgan Wallen Gets The Better Of Tom Brady In 9-Hole Golf Challenge: “I Got My A** Kicked”

YouTube golf content has cracked into the country music realm. Recently, the undisputed GOAT of NFL quarterbacking asked the biggest name in country music to play a little 9-hole golf match in Tennessee. Tom Brady brought his camera and crew along to make it a part of this “Last Week with Tom Brady” vlog series… and I’ve got to say, I didn’t mind this episode. The others where he’s frolicking along in the sun on fancy boats? I’ll pass. But getting to see Tom Brady and Morgan Wallen play at the beautiful Troubadour Golf & Field Club in College Grove, Tennessee? I’m here for it. Brady and his crew were all set up for the arrival of the country music singer, and once Wallen got there, Tom asked him how things were and if he’d been busy. Morgan responded by saying: “I’ve been working hard and chasing turkeys. That’s about it. I ain’t been playing no golf.” Now I don’t want to get to in-depth with this, but I think that was a little bit of sandbaggery (acting like you won’t be good right before you are really good) by Morgan Wallen. Because he proceeded to rip driver on a lot of holes out on the course, while Tom played more conservatively off the tee with what looked to be a driving iron. Amidst the competition, Tom was able to ask Wallen questions about his career, like if he had always loved music. As they rode around in the golf cart from shot to shot, the “I’m The Problem” singer shared this answer: “From the beginning. I started singing in church when I was three years old. My dad was a pastor, and my mom just recognized early on that I had a love for it. So she had me singing when I was three, then when I was five, I wanted a violin for Christmas and then I started learning it. Hell, I was offered a southern gospel record contract when I was seven-years-old.” Wallen later credited his mom with shooting down that deal because she wanted him to be a kid and have a normal life. So that’s what he did, and he focused on baseball. From the looks of his golf swing, it appears the country superstar played a little golf in his younger days as well. I say that because during the 9 hole match, Morgan Wallen got the best of Tom Brady (Wallen credited his mental break from recently turkey hunting giving him the advantage) Tom accepted defeat (I wouldn’t say graciously), which then led to the pair throwing the football around out on the course. If that portion of the video looks familiar, that’s because the picture from that of the two tossing the pigskin went viral ahead of the ACM Awards. It does appear that Wallen was out on the links with Brady instead of attending the 2025 ACMs. Don’t think he would have attended anyways though. The video ends with Brady giving Wallen a signed jersey, and the country music star returning the favor with a specialized guitar that was themed for Morgan’s I’m The Problem album and tour. Tom said he didn’t know a thing about guitars, and that prompted Wallen to share a little bit more about his creative process: “Usually we won’t even start a song unless we have the full concept and the payoff hook done at the beginning. Then we’ll start at the first verse to write towards that hook. Every once in a while, there’s a couple of songs in this album where I had an idea and I was like, ‘I don’t know what the song is gonna be called. I don’t know anything other than I have this idea.’  So we started from the top with no hook. Wrote first verse, chorus all the way down until we found the hook. So we started with there was a day Jack and Jim didn’t know me from Adam, so you just get all of those Garden of Eden type ideas and you just keep going.” All in all, it was a quick look (maybe a little too quick, I wouldn’t have been upset if it was longer) at Morgan Wallen’s golf game and musical process. And it was all captured on… I can’t believe I’m saying this… Tom Brady’s vlog series. Stay tuned for the rematch… Tom mentioned that he got a** kicked multiple times and he won’t let that lie for long. To Long Nights And Loud Music: Koe Wetzel Stakes His Claim With Outlaw Light Beer

Step aside you other domestics, there’s a new sheriff outlaw in town. Much is made about “outlaws” in country music. Without a doubt there’s been some real ones (Merle Haggard and Billy Joe Shaver, to name the obvious) but many more have tried on the label in hopes of making something of themselves despite having nothing to back it up. In fact, it’s rare someone dubbed an “outlaw” truly lives up to the name. But that’s never been a problem for Koe Wetzel. His shows are dark, loud, and rowdy. The music twang, grunge, and grit. Don’t try to put him in a box, there’s none that can hold him, and don’t say he’s faking because fake don’t run through Texas blood. Koe Wetzel is a modern-day outlaw to the bone, and he just staked his claim in a beer company that raises a glass to him and his kind. Outlaw Light Beer was born from a rebellious spirit and refusal to blend in. Corporate macro breweries have long monopolized the light beer market and America needed something different, something better, to break the boundaries wide open, which is exactly what Outlaw Light Beer has done. Crisp, crushable, and refreshing only crack the surface of what drives Outlaw drinkers to it. View this post on Instagram A post shared by Outlaw Mile Hi Light Beer (@outlawbeer) Created by Colorado’s Trivoli Brewing Company, Outlaw embodies the resilient legacy of a company whose roots stretch back to 1859. They survived Prohibition, natural disasters, economic turmoil, and the onslaught of publicly traded conglomerates, always finding a way to make a comeback no matter what was thrown their way and Outlaw Light Beer is the next chapter that story. True to their name, Outlaw attracted some artists that buck trends, throw away the naysayers, and do things on their time, in their way. Koe Wetzel and HARDY have taken equity stakes in Outlaw Light Beer, which goes much deeper than a celebrity endorsement; it puts their money where their mouth is. When asked why he made this commitment to Outlaw, Koe said: “I didn’t want to just be the face of it—I wanted to be part of building it. Outlaw is smooth, easy-to-drink beer for people like me and my fans, and taking a real stake in it means I’m all in. We’re building something from the ground up that feels real, and that’s rare in this game.” While in the old days, “outlaw” meant someone living outside the rule of law, the word has taken on a new meaning today. It still involves not following some rules, let’s not kid ourselves here, but Koe describes being an outlaw as more than that: “Being an outlaw in 2025 isn’t about breaking the law—it’s about breaking the mold. It’s about doing things your own way, even when people tell you not to. That’s how I’ve always lived, and that’s how Outlaw Light Beer feels too. It’s not trying to be flashy or fit into some big corporate box. It’s beer for folks who like their music loud, their nights long and their drinks cold.” For loud music and long nights… Now that’s something I’ll drink too. In fact, this message has resonated with people throughout the country, leading Outlaw Light Beer to become the fastest growing domestic light beer in the US. Use the “Where To Buy” feature on their website to find a distributor near you. Outlaw is available in 45 states, so there’s bound to be one not too far away. Koe and HARDY are heading out on the JIM BOB World Tour which kicks off tonight in Chula Vista, California and I just know a whole lot of outlaws are going to be in attendance… Grab a case (or two) of Outlaws and get to tailgating because there’s no better way to get ready for the show than with the light beer that America deserves. Here’s to the Outlaws.
