Bill Ward says he would like to play with Black Sabbath one last time

A few months ago, Ozzy Osbourne said in an interview that he felt that Black Sabbath wasn't over, because the original drummer and co-founder Bill Ward was not part of their final album and tour. He said that he would love to do at least one last show with Bill and then Tony Iommi and Geezer Butler also said that they would also be up for it but were not sure if Bill could do it. Now, the drummer posted a message on his social media saying that he is totally up for it and would love to play those songs again one last time again with his bandmates. Bill Ward says he would like to play with Black Sabbath one last time "Hey ya, Bill Ward checking in regarding all the updates on a possible Sabbath show in England. I’m in for playing some of everyone’s old favorites. Loved playing them then, I’d love to play them one last time. I’m not going to talk about my health publicly except to say, everyday I’m pretty good for 76 years old, I’m active musically every day, and I have a very busy and gratifying life. Love you all, all the fucking time. Bill" The most recent kind of Black Sabbath reunion that happened was during the Commonwealth Games which happened in Birmingham, their hometown. Ozzy Osbourne and Tony Iommi performed live at the closing ceremony. Back in May, in an interview for his own internet show “The Madhouse Chronicles” (Transcribed by Blabbermouth), Ozzy said that he would like to do a final Black Sabbath show with Bill Ward. He even said that it would be cool if it was a surprise show in some small club. “I can’t remember why Bill didn’t do it (The reunion). I’ve gotta be truthful. It wasn’t really Black Sabbath because Bill wasn’t there. I mean, if you had Ginger Baker playing with The Beatles, it wouldn’t be The Beatles.” “Yeah (We did the final show in Birmingham), but I was sad that Bill wasn’t there. I mean, I mean, Tommy (Clufetos), my drummer , did a great job, but he ain’t Bill Ward.” “(That’s unfinished business) because it wasn’t Black Sabbath that finished it. It’s unfinished. If they wanted to do one more gig with Bill, I would jump at the chance. Do you know what would be cool? If we went to a club or something unannounced and we just got up and did it. We started up in a club,” Ozzy Osbourne said. https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=Yu5hwKn2O6IThe post Bill Ward says he would like to play with Black Sabbath one last time appeared first on Rock And Roll Garage.

Jeff Pilson says there is not end date for Foreigner’s farewell tour

Jeff Pilson says there is not end date for Foreigner’s farewell tour

Formed in New York City back in 1976 by British and American musicians, Foreigner became in the following decades one of the best-selling bands of all time, with an estimated amount of more than 80 million records sold worldwide. The only musician who was part of the band since they started is the British guitarist, keyboardist and producer Mick Jones. However, since 2023 he is not touring with the band, although they are currently on the road with their farewell tour. In an interview with Ethan Dometrius (Transcribed by Blabbermouth), the bassist Jeff Pilson (Ex-Dokken), said that there is no end date for Foreigner's farewell tour, because they still don't know when they wil finally retire. Jeff Pilson says there is not end date for the Foreigner farewell tour He explained that the band's singer Kelly Hansen (Who replaced the Lou Gramm in 2005) wants Foreigner to finish their activities before he can't deliver the performance the songs need in terms of vocals, since they are not easy to sing. So that's a conversation they had over the years and that's why they want to every year do less shows but maybe not stop completely. "(Foreigner is) not going away. We're not falling off the face of the earth. We're just not gonna be doing the nine- and 10-month tours like we used to. But we'll still be around, and you'll still hear us. Well, because we are looking at it, like, 'Well, let's just see what happens' — we know, for instance, that next year we're gonna do some shows, but we're gonna do a lot less. So we just kind of sit down and say, 'Well, how long do we wanna go? When do we wanna go?" How many shows do we wanna do?'" "And that way we can kind of wind it down nicely over the next few years. No absolute end date. That's not the objective. There is no absolute end date yet. That's not the plan. It's a wind-down right now. But again, we call it a farewell tour because this is the last time we're gonna really be touring, touring, touring," Jeff Pilson said. The band's current line-up has Jeff Pilson (Bass), Kelly Hansen (Vocals), Michael Bluestein (Keyboards), Bruce Watson (Guitar), Chris Frazier (Drums) and Luis Maldonado (Guitar). https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=ELQkWrBAtIE&pp=ygUSZm9yZWlnbmVyIGZhcmV3ZWxsThe post Jeff Pilson says there is not end date for Foreigner’s farewell tour appeared first on Rock And Roll Garage.

First trailer for new Bob Dylan biopic is released

The first trailer for the new Bob Dylan biographical movie "A Complete Unknown" was released and shows the actor Timothee Chalamet as the legendary Folk Rock musician. The movie will show how Dylan started in his home state of Minnesota all the way to New York City, where he started to achieve fame for his songwriting talent. It tells the story of his rise to fame until the famous performance at the Newport Folk Festival in 1965. Other incredible musicians will also be portrayed in the movie, like Sylvie Russo, Joan Baez, Alan Lomax, Johnny Cash and Pete Seeger. The director James Mangold talked with Rolling Stone recently about the movie and recalled the conversation he had with Dylan. "The first time I sat down with him, Bob said, 'What's this movie about, Jim?' I said, 'It's about a guy who's choking to death in Minnesota, and leaves behind all his friends and family and reinvents himself in a brand new place, makes new friends, builds a new family, becomes phenomenally successful, starts to choke to death again — and runs away." Then according to the director, Dylan replied: I like that". The American director James Mangold is famous for directing movies like "Identity" (2003), "Johnny & June" (2005), "3:10 to Yuma" (2007), "Ford Vs Ferrari" (2019) and "Indiana Jones and the Dial of Destiny" (2023). There is still no official release date for the movie but it is expected to be out this year. Eric Clapton pays tribute to John Mayall, who died at the age of 90

Known as the Godfather of British Blues music, the legendary singer and guitarist John Mayall sadly passed away last July 22 at the age of 90. His family shared the news on his social media and instantly many Rock stars reacted to that, including Eric Clapton, who was a member of Mayall's band The Blues Breakers back in the 60s. The album they recorded together in 1966 was a landmark in Blues music and continues to be one of the most influential albums of all time. Clapton lamented losing one of his dearest friends, called him a mentor and said he expects to see him on the other side soon, but not very soon. Read and watch what Eric Clapton said about John Mayall's death https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=9cujG_O4KA4 “I want to say thank you, chiefly, for rescuing me from oblivion… when I was a young man around the age of 18 or 19, when I decided I was going to quit music." “He found me and took me into his home, and asked me to join his band; and I stayed with him; and I learned all that I really have to draw on today in terms of technique and desire to play the kind of music I love to play. I did all my research in his home in his record collection – the Chicago blues that he was such an expert on." “I played with his band for a couple of years, with Hughie and John, and it was a fantastic experience. He taught me that it was okay to just play the music you wanted to play without dressing it up or making anybody else like it… to listen to myself, to my inner motivations.” “He was my mentor; and, as a surrogate father, he taught me all I really know, and gave me the courage and enthusiasm to express myself without fear, without limit. And all I gave him in return was how much fun it was to drink and womanize, when he was already a family man." "I wished to make amends for that – and I did that while he was alive. I have since learned that that is not the best way to carry on. I shall miss him, but I hope to see him on the other side. Thank you, John. I love you; I’ll see you soon, but not yet. Not yet, as they say in the Gladiator movie,” Eric Clapton said. Keanu Reeves gets emotional while sharing how much 'The Matrix' means to him

Keanu Reeves might have broken into the industry through “Bill and Ted,” and was an established '90s action actor thanks to films like “Speed” and “Point Break.” But his iconic role as Neo in “The Matrix” truly catapulted him into stardom. For many, “The Matrix” was both a thrilling cinematic escape and a powerful spiritual experience—exploring what it means to be human in the digital age, all while kicking ass in cool leather trench coats. And Reeves was the hero that took us on that journey. Of course, he would go on to be the center of another legendary franchise with “John Wick” and would become a legend off-camera as a genuinely compassionate and generous person. But to think—we might have not had any of it had Reeves never taken that red pill. It turns out that not even Reeves himself takes that moment in his life for granted. During a recent interview with Stephen Colbert on “The Late Show,” the host mentioned several of Reeves’ movies that were celebrating an anniversary this year — “Bill and Ted’s Excellent Adventure,” 35; “Point Break,” 33; “Speed,” 30; “The Matrix,” 25; and “John Wick,” 10. Colbert then asked Reeves to name a fond memory from each of these iconic movies in a lightning-round style. Reeves was able to get out simple answers like “friendship” for “Bill and Ted” and “the genius of Catherine Bigelow” for “Point Break,” but when he got to “The Matrix,” there was a palpable, emotional pause. After about twenty seconds, Reeves replied, “’The Matrix’ changed my life. And then, over these years, it’s changed so many other people’s lives in really positive and great ways.”Gathering himself, he concluded, “As an artist, you hope for that when you get to do a film or tell a story…it’s the best.”It was so well said that Colbert didn’t bother trying to get a memory for “John Wick” but instead shook his hand and ended the segment. Watch: "The Matrix" Changed My Life - Keanu Reeves Shares Fond Memories Of His Most Iconic Films www.youtube.com Down in the comments, people were once again moved by Reeves’ heartfelt authenticity. “Keanu's response to the Matrix question was so profound.”“That really got me. So moving. As for the movie itself, to this day, The Matrix is still the most mind-blowing experience I've ever had in a theatre!”“The answer, his face, his body language, how he changed his emotion so fast just gave me chills and I cried. He knows the truth.”“What a real dude. There's a reason everyone loves him.”“Do we all simply want to burst into tears when he emotionally recounts how The Matrix has touched people?”“To this day, The Matrix remains my favorite movie of all time. Full stop. It's amazing to see him get so emotional when he talks about it.”“He almost made me cry, that was a raw emotional sincere comment he made - just beautiful.”“The Academy Awards will honor Keanu Reeves one day with a lifetime achievement award. No doubt. The Matrix is the best sci-fi movie ever made and Keanu was brilliant in the role. A beautiful human being. I always support his work. I wish him the best this world offers.”By the way, if all this Matrix nostalgia has got you wishing you could see it on the big screen again, you’re in luck! AMC will be presenting a special anniversary screening of it in September.
