Mollie Hemingway Lays the SMACK DOWN on the Censorship Cartel

Mollie Hemingway Lays the SMACK DOWN on the Censorship Cartel

The left continues to whine over Meta CEO Mark Zuckerberg’s decision to do away with censorship of free speech across his platforms, and allow the marketplace of ideas to decide which ideas win and which do not. While discussing this on Fox News Sunday, Editor-in-Chief of The Federalist Mollie Hemingway laid waste to those organizations vested in online censorship.  Watch as Hemingway delivers a brutal fact=check of her own: “If you want to please Democrats, you engage in massive censorship of American speech and debate and if you want to please Republicans you embrace free speech. I think that explains a lot about the last election results” – @MZHemingway on #FoxNewsSunday pic.twitter.com/xmqq9Xlmb5 — Brent Baker ?? ?? (@BrentHBaker) January 12, 2025 FOX NEWS SUNDAY 1/12/25 9:44 AM JUAN WILLIAMS: Wow, the Russians and the Chinese must be just celebrating. Great. They’ll put out nonsense. So I think- you think about the damage the internet has done to our children, to our lives, I just think it’s- I just think they have misdirected. A lot of people are being fooled to think it's a censorship argument when in reality we need, in fact, some regulation of what is the Wild, Wild West on our computers. MOLLIE HEMINGWAY: So, in fact, Mark Zuckerberg said that what they’re getting rid of is the left-wing so-called fact-checking enterprise in which left-wing groups censored speech and debate against conservatives. There will still be moderation but it’ll be done through free speech- through the free market of free speech where users of these platforms can themselves check facts and information. But it is interesting that people think that if you want to- if you want to please Democrats, you engage in massive censorship of American speech and debate. And if you want to please Republicans, you embrace free speech. I think that explains a lot about the last election results. “Disinformation” has been dumbed down to “stuff the left doesn’t agree with or that hurts it politically” and utilized this as the basis from which to censor political speech. We all remember how Hunter Biden’s laptop was deemed “Russian disinformation” and subsequently censored, only to be found to be true. Politically inconvenient information was suppressed, with a devastating result. Per our 2020 study: One of every six Biden voters we surveyed (17%) said they would have abandoned the Democratic candidate had they known the facts about one or more of these news stories. A shift of this magnitude would have changed the outcome in all six of the swing states won by Joe Biden, and Donald Trump would have comfortably won a second term as president. Facebook had a role in this suppression. Fast forward to four years later, and Zuckerberg is doing a 180-degree shift on those very policies.  Longtime Fox resident lib Juan Williams whined about the changes, claiming that they represented an open door for China and Russia and should therefore be regulated. Hemingway shuts down that call for censorship and exposes the corrupt so-called “fact-checking enterprise” that sought to control free speech for millions of Americans. In so doing, and noting the partisan nature of speech demands, an interesting question hangs in the air: Had Biden/Harris won, would Zuckerberg have made these changes?

Money bags found in leg of statue in German church

Restorers working at St. Andrew’s Church in Eisleben in the east-central German state of Saxony-Anhalt, discovered four bags of coins from around 1640 in the cavity of the leg of a statue of a kneeling count. They were hidden in the count’s leg during the Thirty Years’ War (1618-1648) when Swedish occupying troops wreaked havoc in the area, forcing the local population to house them, feed them and pay them large amounts of cash. Conservators found the treasure in 2022. The leather bags contained 816 coins, including an extremely valuable “golden angel,” several gold ducats, gold double ducats and silver thalers, half-thalers and quarter-thalers, plus 800 pennies. This was an enormous amount of money in an era when a miner made 24 pennies (one thaler) a week. The most valuable gold coins were wrapped in paper and labeled in a way that indicates the money belonged to the church treasury. “However, it is not the bell pouch for the Sunday collection,” [head of the State Coin Cabinet of Saxony-Anhalt Ulf] Dräger said. “Instead, it is the collected income from special services provided by the pastors,” such as weddings, baptisms and funerals. Pastors also collected money from “chair fees,” in which congregants would pay to sit in prominent seats in the church, he added. Historians know that from 1561, Eisleben had an “Aerarium Pastorale” — a common parish fund that was used as a pension and health fund, as social insurance for pastors, and to promote the training of theologians. “Perhaps we now have this fund before us,” Dräger said. “Historical research will show this.” Martin Luther was born in Eisleben in 1483 and died there in 1546. He gave his last four sermons from the pulpit in the Church of St. Andrew and his funeral was held there, although his body was taken to Wittenberg for burial by order of the Elector of Saxony. In Luther’s time, Eisleben was the capital of the county of Mansfeld, ruled by the counts of the House of Mansfeld, several of whom converted to Protestantism, splitting from the Catholic Church and the Holy Roman Emperor to follow Martin Luther. Luther acted as intermediary between the Catholic and Protestant Mansfeld Counts, negotiating a unique ceasefire in the roiling conflict of the Reformation: St. Andrew’s held Catholic masses in the mornings and Protestant services in the afternoon. As a matter of fact, Luther was only in town because he was settling another dispute between the Mansfelds. He arrived in January, rapidly took ill and died on February 18th. His body lay in state at St. Andrew’s for four days before it was removed to Wittenberg. The statue where the money was found was depicts one of the Mansfeld counts, namely Count Johann Albrecht von Mansfeld-Arnstein (1522-1586). It’s a high-relief scene of the count and his wife Countess Magdalena von Mansfeld (1530-1565) kneeling at the foot of the cross. The sculpture marks the tomb of the countess which was installed there in 1574, a decade after her death. Sixty-five years or so later, someone, perhaps a church functionary, cached the pension fund in his leg. Originally built in the 12th century, the church was undergoing a major reconstruction when Martin Luther was born. Most of the church that stands today — the three-aisled nave, choir and ground floor of the tower — were completed by 1486. The rest of the tower and dome were added to the Late Gothic hall in 1714-23. The wooden pulpit where Luther preached his last sermons is still present and has been a site of pilgrimage since his death.

Gavin Newsom unveils ‘totally spontaneous’ plans to rebuild Los Angeles after fires

In a move that has absolutely nothing to do with prior preparation, California Governor Gavin Newsom has unveiled detailed, fully realized plans to rebuild Los Angeles following the devastating fires that, by sheer coincidence, wiped out the exact neighborhoods marked for redevelopment by the WEF. “These fires were an unforeseen tragedy,” Newsom said during a press conference held on the ashes of a once-thriving community. “But in the spirit of California resilience, we have immediately mobilized a plan for a greener, shinier Los Angeles.” The 3,000-page blueprint, complete with architectural renderings, zoning adjustments, and the signature of a mysterious consultant named “I.M. Fireproof,” envisions a utopia of luxury high-rises, eco-friendly tech hubs, and artisanal oat milk cafes. “We certainly didn’t expect to have this ready so soon,” Newsom said, flipping through the bound and laminated plans. Critics have questioned the timing of the fires, which exclusively targeted older homes and small businesses while sparing nearby high-value properties. However, Newsom dismissed these concerns. “We can’t let conspiracy theories distract us from progress. California is about moving forward, even if we have to use controlled burns—I mean, nature’s burns—to get there.” The new redevelopment zone, which had been stalled for years by “pesky renters” and “sentimental landmarks,” now offers a clean slate. Newsom assured residents that the original homeowners would be “welcome back anytime,” provided they can afford the $3.5 million penthouses or secure one of the five subsidized micro-units that will be raffled off annually. When asked why the development plans were dated two months prior to the fires, Newsom laughed nervously. “That’s a typo. Don’t worry about it. Focus on the renderings—they’ve got rooftop gardens!” The governor concluded the event by planting a symbolic sapling and announcing a new task force to study fire prevention strategies—tentatively titled the “Let’s Not Question the Coincidences Committee.” The post Gavin Newsom unveils ‘totally spontaneous’ plans to rebuild Los Angeles after fires appeared first on Genesius Times.
