U.S. Capitol Police said they deployed pepper spray against protesters outside the Capitol after the crowds became “violent” during the speech. On Tuesday night, activists bypassed the security at the Watergate Hotel, where Netanyahu is staying, and released maggots, worms and crickets, according to a spokeswoman for the hotel. During his speech, Netanyahu condemned the anti-Israel protesters on America’s streets and campuses as “useful idiots for Iran.” “When the tyrants of Tehran, who hang gays from cranes and murder women for not covering their hair, are praising, promoting and funding you, you have officially become Iran’s useful idiots,” he said. “Some of these protesters hold up signs proclaiming ‘Gays for Gaza.’ They might as well hold up signs saying chickens for KFC.” Protesters chanting “from the river to the sea, Palestine will be free” have no idea what river or sea they are talking about, Netanyahu said, referencing the popular slogan for the elimination of Israel. “They not only get an F in geography, they get an F in history,” he said. “For nearly 4,000 years, the Land of Israel has been the homeland of the Jewish people. In his Wednesday speech to a joint session of Congress, Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu praised the United States and proposed an “Abraham Alliance” between Israel and Arab states to combat Iran and its proxies. “The new alliance I envision would be a natural extension of the groundbreaking Abraham Accords, those accords saw peace forged between Israel and four Arab countries and they were supported by Republicans and Democrats alike.” Netanyahu’s address comes as Israel continues to battle Hamas terror in Gaza after the terror group invaded the Jewish state on October 7 and massacred more than 1,000 citizens.  This was the prime minister’s fourth time addressing Congress. His last address in 2015 focused on the Iranian threat, a thread he picked up again on Wednesday. “Iran is virtually behind all the terrorism, all the turmoil, all the chaos, all the killings,” he said, quoting a top Hezbollah leader who called Israel a tool of America and said the “real war” is with the United States. Netanyahu made the case for America and Israel standing together against Iran and terrorism, focusing on their shared values and military cooperation. “Standing in Iran’s way is one proud, pro-American democracy. My country, the state of Israel,” he said. ”When Israel acts to prevent Iran from developing nuclear weapons, nuclear weapons that could destroy Israel and threaten every American city, every city that you come from. We’re not only protecting ourselves, we’re protecting you.” Netanyahu added that Israel helps prevent American boots from being on the ground in the Middle East’s many conflicts.  “We’ve jointly developed some of the most sophisticated weapons on Earth that help protect both our countries, and we also help. We also help keep American’s boots off the ground while protecting our interests in the Middle East.” Joining Netanyahu was Noa Argamani, a 26-year-old Israeli who was held hostage in Gaza until she was freed by an elite unit after 245 days in captivity. “On the morning of October 7, the entire world saw Noa’s look of desperation as she was violently abducted to Gaza on the back of a motorcycle,” adding that Argamani’s mother received her final wish of seeing her daughter returned before she passed away from cancer. Haim escaped his captors but was accidentally killed by IDF soldiers. Netanyahu said it is Israel’s intention to liberate all hostages held in Gaza and have a “complete victory” over Hamas. Out of the 255 hostages taken, 135 have returned home. Netanyahu also honored the heroes who helped fight Hamas on Oct. 7 where 1,200 people were killed including 39 Americans. “Proportionately, compared to our population size, that’s like 20 9/11s in one day,” Netanyahu said. “And these monsters, they raped women, they beheaded men, they burned babies alive. They killed parents in front of their children and children in front of their parents.” Four of Netanyahu’s guests were Israeli soldiers who fought heroically on October 7, including a tank commander who lost his right arm and vision in his left eye. Another soldier grabbed his gun during Hamas’s attack and ran seven miles from his home to join the fight, according to Netanyahu. After the war, Netanyahu said Gaza must be demilitarized and deradicalized with a Palestinian civilian administration and Israel remaining in control over security to prevent terrorism for the “foreseeable future.” “Israel does not seek to resettle Gaza, but for the foreseeable future, we must retain overriding security control there to prevent the resurgence of terror to ensure that Gaza never again poses a threat to Israel,” he said. “Gaza should have a civilian administration run by Palestinians who do not seek to destroy Israel. That’s not too much to ask!” Despite a boycott of the speech by over 50 mostly Democratic lawmakers, Netanyahu emphasized his desire to “anchor the bipartisan support that is so important for Israel” before departing on the trip. He was invited to Congress by its four top leaders: Senate Majority Leader Chuck Schumer (D-NY), House Minority Leader Hakeem Jeffries (D-NY), House Speaker Mike Johnson (R-LA), and Senate Majority Leader Mitch McConnell (R-KY). He thanked Biden for immediately condemning Hamas’ attack, sending two aircraft carriers, and calling himself a “proud Irish American Zionist.” “He came to Israel to stand with us during our darkest hour—a visit that will never be forgotten,” he said. “President Biden and I have known each other for over 40 years. I want to thank him for half a century of friendship to Israel.” Netanyahu thanked Trump for helping facilitate the Abraham Accords, recognizing Israeli sovereignty over the Golan Heights, and moving the U.S. embassy to Jerusalem to show recognition of the holy city as Israel’s capital. He also condemned the attempted assassination attempt on Trump, stating that there is “no room for political violence in democracies.” Netanyahu is set to meet with Vice President Kamala Harris, President Joe Biden, and Trump later this week. Netanyahu also called on the United States to fast-track weapons shipments to help expedite the end of the war in Gaza.  “Give us the tools, and we will finish the job,” the prime minister said, evoking Winston Churchill’s famous quote requesting weapons to finish the job in Europe. “The war in Gaza could end tomorrow if Hamas surrenders, disarms, and returns all the hostages.” He added that Israel will accept nothing but “total victory.”

Speaking to Fox News, the 52-year-old actress and self-declared liberal admitted the hate and vitriol coming from the left against Trump has surprised her, noting that she thought the party was all about “inclusivity” and “compassion.” “Everybody has their right to their opinion, and they have freedom of speech, so here we are,” Matteo said. “But, again, I’m a liberal. President Joe Biden did not end his 2024 re-election campaign over the weekend because of his health, the top White House spokesperson said on Wednesday. White House Press Secretary Karine Jean-Pierre dismissed the idea during a press briefing hours before Biden is expected to deliver an address to the nation. Allies had been pressuring Biden, 81, to step aside after a fumbling debate performance late last month spurred concerns about his mental acuity and electability. Jean-Pierre also rejected talks about how Biden should consider resigning from office. “We believe any suggestion of that note is ridiculous. It is not what we believe,” she said. Shortly after saying he was no longer seeking a second term, Biden endorsed Vice President Kamala Harris to become the Democratic Party’s presidential nominee. Harris has gathered the support of enough delegates to win the nomination, although the process remains open and another challenger could emerge before voting begins. The decision to bow out followed the White House saying last week that Biden tested positive for COVID and would cut short a campaign swing out West. Biden spent days isolating in Delaware, during which time he ended his campaign — marking a reversal from his prior stated commitment to staying in the race. The president returned to the White House on Tuesday, when his doctor said Biden’s COVID symptoms had “resolved,” and he shared plans to deliver a prime-time address. “Tomorrow evening at 8 PM ET, I will address the nation from the Oval Office on what lies ahead, and how I will finish the job for the American people,” Biden said in a post to X.

Senator Elizabeth Warren claimed in a Wednesday interview that her former colleague Kamala Harris’ “biggest accomplishment” while serving as vice president was being the first sitting vice president to visit an abortion clinic. Warren made the comment during an interview with CNN anchor Kaitlan Collins, arguing that Harris’ willingness to lean in to issues that were not always comfortable to talk about made her well-suited to her new role as the Democrats’ de facto 2024 presidential nominee. In a truly unprecedented performance on Tuesday’s episode of America’s Got Talent, one contestant tried to break a particularly unusual world record. During his introduction, Nick Manning explained that he’d “always wanted to be the best in the world at something.” So, that night, before the eyes of the judges, the audience, and an official from the Guinness Book of World Records, this ambitious man would be attempting something quite unexpected. He was going to break the world record for “most underpants pulled on in 30 seconds.” Nick informed everyone that, in order to unseat the previous record-holder, he would have to put on 24 pairs of underwear. In preparation for the attempt, he’d arranged dozens of pairs on the ground in a straight line for easy pick up. To make it clear when he beat the record, the 24th pair was gold. At first, the America’s Got Talent judges seemed slightly underwhelmed by this contestant’s choice in world record. However, it wasn’t long before Nick’s enthusiasm rubbed off on the audience. As soon as the timer started, guests began cheering while the man pulled pair after pair of underwear onto his person with lightning speed. Even the judges started getting excited! Unfortunately, Nick lost some of his momentum when he got his foot stuck in one of the leg holes. While it only took a second for him to get free, this mishap lost him valuable time. In the end, he was unable to put on all 24 pairs of underwear. America’s Got Talent audience members were devastated that he hadn’t broken the record! When the crowd found out that they would technically become record holders along with Nick, they were all for it! “I’ll put on underwear like never before!” shouted one guest in the audience. Even Simon Cowell participated, comedically putting his face through one of the leg holes as though it were a hood. Stakes were high at this point! As the Guinness World Records official warned, if even 10% of America’s Got Talent audience members did not wear a pair of underwear on their heads, they wouldn’t be able to break the record. While being counted, everyone would have to keep their headgear on for a full minute. Finally, the timer ran out, and the Guinness World Records official delivered the results. They beat the record for most people gathered in one place wearing underwear on their heads! As soon as the crowd found out, they went wild. There was still one more hurdle for Nick Manning on America’s Got Talent that night: would breaking a world record earn him a spot in the next round? Sadly, the judges agreed that, while his act had been entertaining, it wasn’t the kind of talent they were looking for. Although Nick Manning may have lost his chance to continue performing on America’s Got Talent, he still has a Guinness World Record under his belt.
