Single man asks married men their biggest marriage regret and they don't disappoint

Marriage is a big step in a relationship. It's something that people think about from the time they can grasp the concept of relationships. When you factor that in with the high divorce rate, it makes sense that people want to make sure they're getting it right before they take the leap.Typically people ask their close inner circle relationship advice. Leaning on people like their parents, siblings or friends who have been married to fill in the gaps of knowledge. But with the world being smaller than ever due to social media, it takes little effort to gather more collective knowledge from thousands of people from your target audience. Surprisingly, people are pretty forthcoming to strangers on the internet looking for support and help. One man who goes by the name King Boiza decided to ask his internet advisors, "married men what is your greatest regret about marriage? Advise the single boys. It could be about anything." They married men didn't hesitate to answer the call in the most genuinely wholesome way.Gleaning collective wisdom from those more experienced than you is a common practice, but being able to do it in such a large way is relatively new. Different life experiences lead to different perspectives that can be invaluable to someone still learning. The advice provided ranged from warnings to what could be seen as universal truths about marriage. "Your wife becomes the words you speak upon her, I regret not speaking life and good upon her," one man shares."In times of trouble, remember...It's not you against her but the both of you, against the problem...," someone writes."Listen when she speaks from the heart, once she feels unheard, she will be closed off for a long time if not forever," another advises."Not all women age gracefully with all their good looks and physique. Marry her for more reasons beyond her body and beauty. Seek a FOREVER," one commenter says. Forbes reports that 43% of first marriages end in divorce with the number significantly increasing with each subsequent marriage. Finding out the regrets, struggles and triumphs of other marriages may help others feel more prepared to commit to marriage with a bit of a roadmap laid in front of them. It's clear from the comments under the post that marriage takes work and while some of the men admittedly misstepped, they seem eager to share with others so they avoid the same mistakes. "My biggest regret in marriage was to cheat and I'm telling you...my wife was never the same...so my advice is never cheat never ever," one guy confesses. "We tend to take our spouse for granted once we get married. Continue to invest your time in her. You won't regret it and she'll know that you really see her," one man shares. But it wasn't only men who dropped by the comment section. Women stopped to share their appreciation for the wisdom being left for all to see. "After reading this comment section, my faith in the institution of marriage is restored. Relationships are not perfect, but we gotta try with people who want to try," one woman writes."I don't know why I'm crying...I guess I never knew men like these existed...Your wives must be blessed," another woman shares. If you need a dose of healthy masculinity and wholesome advice for lasting partnerships, look no further than that comment section. They're saving some future couple from heartache by simply showing up to answer a stranger's question on the internet. This article originally appeared last year.

Daughter surprises her dad with 'prized possession' he sold 30 years ago to help the family

Many people dream of somehow being able to pay their parents back for the sacrifices made for them during childhood. Whether that’s something physical, like paying off their mortgage, or simply being the best version of ourselves to make them absolutely proud. For Lindsay Moore, it was finding a “prized possession” her dad once gave up to help the family, and returning it to him once again.Moore still vividly remembers being only seven years old when she saw her father walk into a comic book store to sell a Dan Marino rookie football card from his first season with the Miami Dolphins. In a now-viral TikTok, Moore’s father is seen reliving this memory as he holds onto a Christmas bag and a family member reads a card out loud."Money was tight, so you were selling your most prized possession – at least I viewed it as that," Moore wrote. "I felt your sacrifice and it taught me that I would do whatever necessary to ensure my future family never needed anything. It was a lesson that has stuck with me since that moment." It was also the moment she became “determined” to pay her father back. Cut to thirty years later, and her father is her Secret Santa. It was the perfect opportunity to fulfill that promise."I will never be able to fully repay that debt," her note continued. "Seven-year-old me would be so elated to see that I finally fulfilled that promise I made to myself. Thank you for everything." As he listened, Moore’s dad began tearing up. Sure enough, he opened his gift to see it was the cherished card he sold all those years ago. The video concludes as Moore and her father enjoy a warm embrace. @lindseyswagmom Im not crying, you’re crying ♬ original sound - Lindsey Moore The sweet exchange certainly struck a chord online. “When he started crying I LOST IT,” one person wrote. Another added, “Something about bringing a grown man to tears always gets me.” A few parents shared their own stories of sacrificing prized possessions. “As someone who has sold his prized Gretzky rookie to provide for his kids, I appreciate and respect this a lot,” commented one person. “Just had to sell my signature MacKinnon jersey to pay bills. Sucked so much but kid comes first,” echoed another. On the flip side, some shared their one experience of getting to repay their parents. One wrote:“I got to do this for my mom last year. She won a [Dolce & Gabbana] purse one year at work and sold it to buy my prom dress and never thought twice. She never [got] name brand anything. So this year I took her to get her very first name brand fancy hand bag or her picking, my treat.” But perhaps the best comment belonged to this person, who astutely pointed out: “The card wasn't the real gift to him. It was hearing his impact on you. Priceless.” We might not all get to reclaim what our parents sacrificed. And that’s okay. There are so many other ways to share just how much of a positive impact they made on our lives. Even saying how much we appreciate them can be an invaluable reward. Yes. Really. Single dad receives letter from late wife and immediately gets a DNA test

Ten months after a man’s wife passed away, he finally got the courage to read a letter she left him, which contained a devastating admission. The 4-year-old son they had together may not be his.“My ‘darling’ wife passed away 10 months ago,” the man wrote on Reddit’s Off My Chest forum. “She wrote a letter for me before she died, but I couldn’t bring myself to read it until now. She told me how sorry she was that she didn’t have the guts to tell me this to my face when she was alive.”In the letter, the wife revealed that there was a “good chance” that the son he thought was his wasn’t his biological child. A few weeks before their wedding day, the wife got drunk at her bachelorette party and had a one-night stand with another man. Soon after that night, she became pregnant but was unsure who the father was.The man was torn whether or not to have the paternity test done. The child had only one parent in this world, and he would have to take care of him regardless. He also thought it was cowardly that his former wife would wait until she was no longer around to share the truth with him.“So she thought she’d rather drop this bomb on my life when I could no longer confront her about it,” the man wrote. “Now that my son would only have one parent looking out for him, and she’d have no idea how I would even react. Maybe I should not have got the paternity test done. Maybe it might be better to live in ignorance. But I just had to know.”The man took the paternity test and learned he wasn’t the child’s biological father.“I’m devastated. This doesn’t change how I feel about my son,” he wrote. “He’s my whole world and he’s innocent. But boy, does it hurt. There’s so much going on in my head right now. I haven’t stopped crying. Thank god my son is at my parents' place for the day. I’d hate for him to see me like this.”Facing a pain nearly too much for him to bear, the only outlet he had at the moment was reaching out to Reddit to find some solace. “I just needed to let this all out. Don’t have it in me to tell anyone in my life about this right now,” he wrote. The commenters send him hundreds of messages of support to get him through the shock of first learning the truth about his family. The most popular message was straightforward and honest. "All your feelings are valid, a lot of people will react with some kind of toxic positivity to things like these. Your feelings are valid. Each and everyone," femunndsmarka wrote.Another commenter added that someday, his son will appreciate how he stepped up and did what was right in a very trying circumstance. “He is going to find out the truth one day. Imagine how much more he will love you knowing you didn’t leave him, even though he wasn’t yours,” ImNotGoodatThis6969.Another commenter provided valuable insight from the son’s perspective."As an adopted child, I just want to thank you on behalf of your son. I deeply believe it changes nothing, family is not about blood, its about who you love, want to have by your side, and care for the most. Sending hugs, strength and gratitude," Mariuuq wrote. The father at the heart of this story is understandably devastated because his life was upended almost overnight. But the hope in the story is that his trials also taught him a powerful truth—his love for his son goes much deeper than blood. This article originally two years ago.

Parents who grew up in the '70s and '80s remember the experiences that blow their kids' minds

Parents who grew up in the '70s and '80s remember the experiences that blow their kids' minds

Parents, do you think your child would be able to survive if they were transported back to the '70s or '80s? Could they live at a time before the digital revolution put a huge chunk of our lives online? These days, everyone has a phone in their pocket, but before then, if you were in public and needed to call someone, you used a pay phone. Can you remember the last time you stuck 50 cents into one and grabbed the grubby handset?According to the U.S. Federal Communications Commission, roughly 100,000 pay phones remain in the U.S., down from 2 million in 1999. Do you think a 10-year-old kid would have any idea how to use a payphone in 2022? Would they be able to use a Thomas Guide map to find out how to get somewhere? If they stepped into a time warp and wound up in 1975, could they throw a Led Zeppelin album on the record player at a party?Another big difference between now and life in the '70s and '80s has been public attitudes toward smoking cigarettes. In 1965, 42.4% of Americans smoked and now, it’s just 12.5%. This sea change in public opinion about smoking means there are fewer places where smoking is deemed acceptable. But in the early '80s, you could smoke on a bus, on a plane, in a movie theater, in restaurants, in the classroom and even in hospitals. How would a child of today react if their third grade teacher lit up a heater in the middle of math class?Dan Wuori, senior director of early learning at the Hunt Institute, tweeted that his high school had a smoking area “for the kids.” He then asked his followers to share “something you experienced as a kid that would blow your children’s minds.”A lot of folks responded with stories of how ubiquitous smoking was when they were in school. While others explained that life was perilous for a kid, whether it was the school playground equipment or questionable car seats. Here are a few responses that’ll show today’s kids just how crazy life used to be in the '70s and '80s.First of all, let’s talk about smoking. “My high school had a smoking area. For the kids. What’s something you experienced as a kid that would blow your children’s minds?” — Dan Wuori (@Dan Wuori) 1650809267 Mine too. Up until my senior year. Also, my biology teacher smoked in the classroom. We used to tell time by how many cigarettes she had in her ashtray.— rbe (@perdidostschool) April 24, 2022 We made clay ashtrays as gifts for Mother's Day...whether moms smoked or not!?— Mark (@coach_mark1) April 24, 2022 We had a smoking room IN our high school. We also had cadet training and a shooting range in the basement of the school. We had Latin as an option and could drop math in Grade 10! Also in the « good old days »: we could smoke in class at Carleton, at the movies and on airplanes.— ??Jacques Leger?? (@jacquesleger17) April 24, 2022 I grew up in a rural area. It wasn’t unheard of for guys to have a shotgun in a gun rack in their trucks, parked at school. Could also carry large knives and openly chew tobacco in school. They don’t allow any of this now, which is good.— High Plains Grifter (@Too_Grizzled) April 24, 2022 Want to call someone? Need to get picked up from baseball practice? You can’t text mom or dad, you’ll have to grab a quarter and use a pay phone. My high school had pay phones.— Mark Angres (@AngresMark) April 24, 2022 Using a pay phone that was outside the school gym to call my parents for a ride home from practice. But calling collect and saying "pick me up" and hanging up before getting charged. ?— Stacy Kratochvil ? (@StacyKratochvil) April 24, 2022 People had little regard for their kids’ safety or health.I slept in the back window of the car when the family went on vacation!— CJFuemmeler (@fuemmelercj) April 24, 2022 We stared Death in the eye every day. pic.twitter.com/zWHh5bvUym— Ed Lettis ? (@edbobgreen) April 24, 2022 Car seats that just hung over the front seat. Hang on, kid! pic.twitter.com/2DdCoXhqmf— Bluenoser Forever (@long17_de) April 24, 2022 I have heard stories of country schools in the 50s (which are now urban schools) having boys swim naked in PE (that’s just how they did it in the country). Van Horn High School in Independence MO. I use this example any time people lament the changes from the “good ole days”.— Matt Parker (@DrMattParker) April 24, 2022 Also, in Driver's Ed. We warched this film, "Blood on the Highways." 45 minutes of unedited film of fatal highway accidents. This was mostly before mandatory seatbelts. 45 years later, I remember the rear view mirror that split a guy's skull, imbedded in his brain.— some call me Tim ?? ? MAT Elem. Educ. (@realtimaier) April 24, 2022 Large fry as your entire meal in middle school. It was the most popular item too. Literally as it sounds. Just a large basket of French fries for lunch.— Monique (@LivAnotherDay) April 24, 2022 Truck with gun racks/rifles in the HS parking lot. (DFW too not a small town) pic.twitter.com/RnWiKQwKB7— FortWorthPlayboy (@FWPlayboy) April 24, 2022 You could buy a soda in school.Vending machine in the cafeteria to buy sodaaaaa ?— Anna Sutter (@AnnaMSutter) April 24, 2022 Things were a lot different before the internet. If you wanted to listen to a particular song, you had to call the radio station (and hope you got through) and ask them to play it for you.— Sarah (@sarahbschaefer) April 25, 2022 Remember pen pals?I wrote letters regularly to a penpal from a different country and then saved them all in a shoebox. Then in college I flew to “meet” her for the 1st time to participate in her wedding ❤️ But now we connect on FB ?— Ms.Teach (@MidwestTeach14) April 24, 2022 A lot of people bemoan the fact that the children of today aren’t as tough as they were a few decades back. But that’s probably because the parents of today are better attuned to their kids’ needs so they don't have to cheat death to make it through the day. But just imagine how easy parenting would be if all you had to do was throw your kids a bag of Doritos and a Coke for lunch and you never worried about strapping them into a car seat? This article originally appeared three years ago.

Mellow dude shares the life hacks he didn't learn until his 30s. Here are 11 of the best.

TikTok has become a great place for finding life hacks and one of the best follows is @Sidneyraz. His hook is that he shows people the "things I wish I knew before I was in my 30s." Most of his life hacks are simple, domestic tricks for cleaning the house or preparing food. But he also shares some financial advice and makes the personal admission that "not being hungover is better than being drunk." That's a lesson that a lot of us wish we learned sooner. Like a lot of folks, Sidney is learning a lot of domestic skills in his third decade and that makes sense. That's the time when people begin to settle down with a significant other and pick up more domestic skills. The good news is that he's not going through this life change alone. He wants to share all of it with you. Here are 11 of his best life hacks. Trump demands FBI preserve DEI records after quietly closing officehttps://t.co/CNFHEg1Pec — RSBN (@RSBNetwork) January 18, 2025 Donald J. Trump@realDonaldTrump January 20th cannot come fast enough! Everybody, even those that initially opposed a Victory by President Donald J. Trump and the Trump Administration, just want it to happen. It is my obligation to protect the People of our Country but, before we even begin, we have to think of the Inauguration itself. The weather forecast for Washington, D.C., with the windchill factor, could take temperatures into severe record lows. There is an Arctic blast sweeping the Country. I don’t want to see people hurt, or injured, in any way. It is dangerous conditions for the tens of thousands of Law Enforcement, First Responders, Police K9s and even horses, and hundreds of thousands of supporters that will be outside for many hours on the 20th (In any event, if you decide to come, dress warmly!). Therefore, I have ordered the Inauguration Address, in addition to prayers and other speeches, to be delivered in the United States Capitol Rotunda, as was used by Ronald Reagan in 1985, also because of very cold weather. The various Dignitaries and Guests will be brought into the Capitol. This will be a very beautiful experience for all, and especially for the large TV audience! We will open Capital One Arena on Monday for LIVE viewing of this Historic event, and to host the Presidential Parade. I will join the crowd at Capital One, after my Swearing In. All other events will remain the same, including the Victory Rally at Capital One Arena, on Sunday at 3 P.M. (Doors open at 1 P.M.—Please arrive early!), and all three Inaugural Balls on Monday evening. Everyone will be safe, everyone will be happy, and we will, together, MAKE AMERICA GREAT AGAIN! Jan 17, 2025, 11:55 AM JUST-IN: Local Police Are Refusing to Help Secure Trump’s Inauguration Multiple local police departments from areas surrounding Washington, DC will reportedly refuse to assist with security for Trump’s inauguration on Monday as the swearing-in ceremony has been moved indoors. Local police refusing to help comes after the Metropolitan Police Department Chief Pamela Smith announced last week that “nearly 4,000 officers from across the United States who were generous enough to raise their hands and commit their time to assist the Metropolitan Police Department” during inaugural events. Several agencies in nearby Maryland, including Montgomery, Howard, and Queen Anne’s County police, have reportedly said they will not be assisting. The reason they will not help is unclear, but it may stem from internal disputes over Metro PD’s use-of-force policy. POTUS 100% insulated. Expect fireworks. JUSTICE. Q @ScottZPatriot, let’s dig deeper into this theory because [11.3] is the game-changer. The DoD Law of War Manual defines [11.3] as the End of Occupation—but here’s the kicker: sovereignty doesn’t transfer to the occupier. Now think about Q Post 26:“The only way is the military.… pic.twitter.com/jBwqauABDe — DIGITAL SWOLLJER ? (@DigiSwQll17) January 15, 2025 Fully controlled. Save & spread (once 11.3 verifies as 1st marker).” If Biden was installed as a foreign-controlled puppet, the U.S. could be under belligerent occupation without transferring sovereignty. The military’s role? To secure the Republic and uphold the Constitution. Trump had to “lose” to trigger the framework for lawful military intervention—just as Q hinted. And let’s not forget what Trump said in March 2020: “I feel it actually. I’m a wartime President. This is a war…. different kind of a war than we’ve ever had…. we are fighting an INVISIBLE ENEMY…. I think it’s going to be a tremendous day when we win this war, and WE WILL WIN THE WAR.” This isn’t just about optics. It’s about exposing [THEM], forcing compliance with international law, and delivering justice without risking civil war. The big question: Are we watching a silent military operation unfold under the Law of War? “The end won’t be for everyone,” because “Treason doesn’t pay well in the end.” “Let’s see what happens!” 552 Q !UW.yye1fxo No.36 Jan 18 2018 23:54:12 (EST) Unknown.jpg
