President Donald Trump claimed on Wednesday that Ukraine President Volodymyr Zelensky is a “dictator” who does not want to end the war against Russia because he “wants to keep the ‘gravy train’ going.” Trump made the remarks after slamming Ukraine during a Tuesday press conference at Mar-a-Lago in response to Zelensky expressing frustrations over being excluded from talks that were held between the United States and Russia in Saudi Arabia. “Think of it, a modestly successful comedian, Volodymyr Zelenskyy, talked the United States of America into spending $350 Billion Dollars, to go into a War that couldn’t be won, that never had to start, but a War that he, without the U.S. and ‘TRUMP,’ will never be able to settle,” Trump posted on social media. “The United States has spent $200 Billion Dollars more than Europe, and Europe’s money is guaranteed, while the United States will get nothing back,” he continued. “Why didn’t Sleepy Joe Biden demand Equalization, in that this War is far more important to Europe than it is to us — We have a big, beautiful Ocean as separation.” Trump also claimed that Zelensky has a low approval rating. “He refuses to have Elections, is very low in Ukrainian Polls, and the only thing he was good at was playing Biden ‘like a fiddle,'” Trump said. “A Dictator without Elections, Zelenskyy better move fast or he is not going to have a Country left.” Zelensky won 73% of the vote in Ukraine’s 2019 election against incumbent Petro Poroshenko. The New York Post noted this week that Zelensky’s approval rating currently sits just a little over 50%. “In the meantime, we are successfully negotiating an end to the War with Russia, something all admit only ‘TRUMP,’ and the Trump Administration, can do,” he added. “Biden never tried, Europe has failed to bring Peace, and Zelenskyy probably wants to keep the ‘gravy train’ going. President Donald Trump, in a move reminiscent of many presidents before him, issued instructions for removing “all remaining ‘Biden Era’ U.S. Attorneys.” “Over the past four years, the Department of Justice has been politicized like never before,” Trump posted on Truth Social on Tuesday. “Therefore, I have instructed the termination of ALL remaining ‘Biden Era’ U.S. Attorneys. We must ‘clean house’ IMMEDIATELY, and restore confidence. America’s Golden Age must have a fair Justice System — THAT BEGINS TODAY!” Trump is hardly the first president to conduct such an action; President Bill Clinton fired 93 U.S. attorneys shortly after taking office in 1993, and President Obama “replaced” several U.S. attorneys starting in May 2009. In February 2021, reports surfaced that the Biden administration would fire U.S. attorneys who the Senate confirmed during the Trump administration. “The resignation request is expected to apply to 56 Senate-confirmed US attorneys appointed by Trump,” CNN reported at the time. “Justice officials have scheduled a call with US attorneys around the country to discuss a transition that is expected to take weeks. The Delta flight which flipped upside down while attempting to land on Monday was operated by Endeavor Air, a regional carrier that has been promoting female employees and “unmanned” (or male-free) flights.  No information about the pilots of Delta Connection Flight 4819, operated by Endeavor Air, has been released, so there is no way to know if the employees being promoted in multiple TikTok videos were involved, or if the flight was one of the company’s “unmanned” crews. But it has led to questions from people on social media sounding off about the airline’s hiring practices and apparent focus on DEI (diversity, equity, and inclusion). The crash occurred at Toronto Pearson International Airport. Video footage captured a Bombardier CRJ-900 regional jet flipping upside down during its landing attempt, which led to 21 people being injured with no fatalities. Several injured parties remained hospitalized as of Tuesday. Videos featuring female Endeavor Air crew members have been circulating on social media since the crash. One video is set to lines from the Disney movie “The Incredibles” (2004) and features a voiceover saying, “Girls, come on? Leave the saving of the world to the men? I don’t think so. I don’t think so,” as a female pilot mouths the words and wags her finger. Another video features female employees getting ready for an “unmanned” flight, while other clips show instances of women working for Endeavor flying planes and attending what appears to be a trade show, all set to upbeat music with girl-power-themed lyrics. The video also showed windy and snowy conditions on the runway.  Multiple outlets noted that in the videos, it appears the pilot did not perform the usual “flare” maneuver, which involves pulling up the nose of the plane before touchdown to slow the aircraft and ensure a smoother landing. The Transportation Safety Board of Canada (TSB) is leading the crash investigation with assistance from the U.S. National Transportation Safety Board (NTSB) and the Federal Aviation Administration (FAA). Delta Air Lines CEO Ed Bastian said on Wednesday during an interview with CBS Mornings that the flight crew was experienced. “There is one level of safety at Delta,” Bastian said. “All these pilots train for these conditions.” The CEO also called the video of the incident “horrifying” but praised the flight crew for quickly and efficiently evacuating passengers after the crash. “This is what we train for,” Bastian told the outlet. “We train for this continuously.” A note on the Endeavor Air website says, “We are aware of an incident involving Endeavor Air Flight 4819. We are focused on gathering more information and taking care of our employees and customers at this time. We will share additional details as they become available.”

The popular but controversial fertility method has sparked concern from religious and pro-life Americans who have moral objections to IVF, especially due to the number of embryos that are destroyed in the IVF process. White House Press Secretary Karoline Leavitt blasted Senate Minority Leader Chuck Schumer (D-NY) on Tuesday after he blamed President Donald Trump’s government cuts for the Delta Air Lines crash-landing in Toronto earlier this week. Schumer posted on X on Monday shortly after the crash, writing, “Trump’s doing massive layoffs at the FAA—including safety specialists—and making our skies less and less safe.” In a follow-up post, Schumer added, “To those asking whether it matters that the plane’s destination was in Canada: The flight took off from Minneapolis. The FAA was still responsible for inspecting the aviation equipment, and Trump just let go of FAA safety specialists.” Leavitt responded to Schumer’s criticism of the Trump administration, telling Fox News, “It’s incredibly irresponsible for Chuck Schumer to say such a thing when the investigation is still underway.” She then pointed out that the “crash unfortunately took place in Canadian airspace with Canadian air traffic controllers overseeing it.” According to Leavitt, no air traffic controllers have been fired during Trump’s purge of the FAA. She added that the Trump administration “has put great emphasis on hiring the best and the brightest air-traffic controllers who want to be part of the FAA.” The response from the White House Press Secretary prompted another social media post from Schumer, who wrote, “Here are the facts: This flight took off from Minneapolis. The FAA was still responsible for inspecting the aviation equipment, and Trump just fired FAA safety specialists.” He added, “The Trump administration turns away from the facts, and it’s hurting Americans. Democrats are fighting to protect the flying public.” The Professional Aviation Safety Specialists union, which represents FAA and Department of Defense employees, said earlier this week that the Trump administration fired hundreds of FAA probationary workers, including systems specialists, safety inspectors, and maintenance mechanics. The reported firings came after Trump ordered a review of all FAA “critical safety positions” to “ensure top-notch air safety and efficiency.” Authorities have not determined the cause of the crash-landing in Toronto as Canadian and U.S. officials team up on the investigation. Video footage showed the regional jet hit the runway at an odd angle before its right main landing gear snapped off. The plane’s right wing smashed into the ground and the aircraft turned upside down and burst into flames. All 80 people on board, including 76 passengers and four crew members, survived, with 21 requiring medical attention. Authorities will look into factors that could have led to the crash, including the weather and the pilots’ experience and training. A retired Delta captain told The Daily Wire on Tuesday that he does “not believe that weather was a factor.” “Most likely from what I gathered yesterday at the time of the incident, the wind was approximately 40 degrees from center, so the crosswind component was around 20 knots and the headwind was around 23,” he said, adding, “Any pilot should be able to handle that. It’s no big deal.” Delta Air Lines CEO Ed Bastian told “CBS Mornings” on Wednesday that the crew on Delta’s Endeavor Air CRJ-900 was experienced, adding, “All these pilots train for these conditions.” Bastian also praised the crew for quickly evacuating everyone on the plane.

On Wednesday, President Donald Trump spurned a Senate budget reconciliation plan that leaves some of his domestic priorities for a second measure in favor of a heftier spending bill from the House that embraces his “one big, beautiful bill” preference. “The House and Senate are doing a SPECTACULAR job of working together as one unified, and unbeatable, TEAM, however, unlike the Lindsey Graham version of the very important Legislation currently being discussed, the House Resolution implements my FULL America First Agenda, EVERYTHING, not just parts of it!” Trump said in a post to Truth Social. “We need both Chambers to pass the House Budget to ‘kickstart’ the Reconciliation process, and move all of our priorities to the concept of, ‘ONE BIG BEAUTIFUL BILL.’ It will, without question, MAKE AMERICA GREAT AGAIN!” On Tuesday, the Senate began consideration of a $340 billion package championed by Budget Chairman Lindsey Graham (R-SC) that seeks to authorize funds for Trump’s border security, energy, and military priorities while setting aside tax cuts for a second bill. House Republicans proceeded with a resolution that deals with spending in addition to calling for $4.5 trillion in tax cuts and raising the debt limit by $4 trillion. It also sets the goal of reducing mandatory spending by $2 trillion. Both chambers of Congress are narrowly under GOP control, meaning Republicans will have to stay largely unified in the face of Democrat opposition to pass a budget measure, whatever it is in the end. In a post to X on Tuesday, Graham said the Senate budget plan “sets in motion full funding” Trump’s border security agenda and provides $150 billion in new spending for strengthening the United States military. “OMB Director [Russ] Vought and Border Czar [Tom] Homan told Senate Republicans that ICE is running out of money,” Graham added. “We’ve got to keep our foot on the gas. Build the wall, deport illegal aliens, and create additional detention space so we don’t have to release illegal immigrants into the community. And God knows the military needs more money in these dangerous times. Taking up the budget resolution this week now puts us one step closer to the most transformational border security bill in history. Time is of the essence.” The budget reconciliation process is an “expedited process for considering bills that would implement policies embodied in a Congressional budget resolution,” according to the Congressional Budget Office. It has been used to pass various laws over the past few decades, such as the 2017 tax law, the American Rescue Plan Act of 2021, and the Inflation Reduction Act of 2022. The Senate requires only a simple majority — or 51 votes — to pass a budget reconciliation bill, bypassing the three-fifths majority threshold needed to overcome a filibuster. Currently, the Senate GOP has a 53-47 majority. Speaker Mike Johnson (R-LA) joined with House Majority Leader Steve Scalise (R-LA), Majority Whip Tom Emmer (R-MN), and Republican Conference Chairwoman Lisa McClain (R-MI) in a joint statement that noted how the House budget resolution already passed through committee. The House GOP leaders alluded to how their plan aims to quickly extend tax cuts from the 2017 law set to expire at the end of the year. “House Republicans have now cleared a critical hurdle to delivering on the major priorities of President Trump’s America First agenda. From the outset of this process, we sought to ensure participation from every member of our conference and make clear that this resolution reflects our collective commitment to enacting the President’s full agenda – not just a part of it,” they said. “This is the start of the process, and we remain laser-focused on ultimately sending a bill to President Trump’s desk which, among other things, secures the border, keeps taxes low for families and job creators, restores American energy dominance, and makes government work better for all Americans.”
