Huh? CBS Wonders If Biden Will Be Compared to FDR and Washington or Wilson and JFK

On Thursday morning and after some cockamamie, tone-deaf reactions Wednesday night to President Biden’s farewell address, the major broadcast networks chose to double down with empty stenography for power with one network going to nonsensical links suggesting Biden could one day be compared to President George Washington, Franklin D. Roosevelt, and Lyndon Johnson as one of the country’s greatest presidents. CBS Mornings Plus was the offending news show on the historical front. After some stenography recapping his speech lecturing about the “oligarchy” stealing the country, senior White House and campaign correspondent Ed O’Keefe was brought in to weigh in on the Biden presidency. Later citing the effects of the bipartisan infrastructure law, he acknowledged Biden “touched on many of” his accomplishments, “but...what he was also signaling is something that previous unpopular...presidents have said on their way out, which is...you’re going to miss me when I’m gone or history is going to be kinder to me” with George W. Bush being another example. Co-host Adriana Diaz brought up one poll that pegged his final approval rating at a paltry 39 percent and asked O’Keefe to place that in context of other presidents. O’Keefe played both sides. First, he admitted “[i]t’s down near Jimmy Carter numbers — right — and it’s — and it’s less than Barack Obama” yet “similar to Donald Trump” before forwarding the White House’s spin for the Democratic losses in November that voters were caught up in “the anti-incumbent mood that the world — the world — really has right now toward its leaders in the face of economic downturn and economic revolution and the technological revolution.” He did this dance again when acknowledging Biden was elected “in response to four years of Trump,” but he “wasn’t necessarily adapting as quickly to the times” and the President (and Democrats) misread the red ripple in 2022 as a stamp of approval for him to seek a second term. But, to throw Biden a bone, O’Keefe claimed Biden “seemed to acknowledge that last night that, you know, things are changing, misinformation, disinformation is changing people’s perceptions of things and we’re not catching onto that and controlling it fast enough.”     “Controlling it fast enough?” There’s a word for that: censorship. O’Keefe then dropped the historical comparison after being asked by Diaz to share how Biden’s claim he would have defeated Trump had he stayed in the race (which O’Keefe said went over poorly with Democrats and Vice President Harris): CBS’s Ed O’Keefe wonders if Biden will be compared in the history books “alongside Franklin Roosevelt and LBJ and George Washington in terms of great presidents who did big things or does he end up in the conversation with Woodrow Wilson and James Garfield and John Kennedy of, if… pic.twitter.com/GNmmI5S44P — Curtis Houck (@CurtisHouck) January 16, 2025 Dokoupil closed by going back to the “disinformation” and “misinformation” lecture: It’s notable that, even though poll after poll shows Americans generally didn’t put democracy and threats to it atop their list of voting concerns, he went back to it again last night talking about misinformation, disinformation, and threats to our democracy. That’s one of those things actually that, right now, people may not appreciate, but we could think about it differently in 50 years. O’Keefe had the voice-over report in the regular CBS Mornings. Featured co-host Vladimir Duthiers had the set-up, saying Biden declared himself “very worried about the future because of the threat from misinformation, the misuse of technology, and the influence of some of the richest Americans.” “You know, after more than 50 years in public life, President Biden used his farewell address to issue those warnings and told the American public it’s now their turn to stand guard,” O’Keefe then reported. Later, O’Keefe cited the low poll number and chalked it up to “[c]oncerns with inflation, immigration, and his old age leave many Americans skeptical of his leadership, but...thinks history will be kinder.” At NBC’s Today, chief White House correspondent Peter Alexander could have mentioned how Biden wouldn’t be trotted out for a final press conference and skipped the traditional year-end presser in December. Of course, he didn’t bring that up. But what he did was gushing over Biden’s “valedictory speech” after having gone from “one of the youngest Americans elected senator when he first came to Washington” to “the oldest President ever to serve” “more than a half century later.” He continued (click “expand”): ALEXANDER: [F]rom behind the Resolute Desk one last time last night, touting his legacy and issuing a series of stark warnings about the future. In his farewell address after five decades in politics, President Biden looking to define his legacy following four tumultuous years. BIDEN: Every day I kept my commitment to be President for all Americans, through one of the toughest periods in our nation’s history.  ALEXANDER: The President vigorously defending his record leading the nation out of a global pandemic, restoring jobs after an economic crisis, and heavily investing in the nation’s infrastructure, and clean energy initiatives. With President-Elect Trump set to retake the White House, President Biden highlighted the peaceful transfer of power. BIDEN: I wish the incoming administration success because I want America to succeed. ALEXANDER: Still, he delivered a dire warning about what he called a dangerous concentration of power in the hands of very few, very rich people. BIDEN: An oligarchy is taking shape in America of extreme wealth, power, and influence that literally threatens our entire democracy, our basic rights, and freedoms, and a fair shot for everyone to get ahead. ALEXANDER: Another danger he warned? The growth of A.I. and big tech. BIDEN: Americans are being buried under an avalanche of misinformation and disinformation. [SCREEN WIPE] The truth is smothered by lies told for power and for profit. ALEXANDER: With First Lady Jill Biden, his son Hunter, and Vice President Harris in the room, this word of thanks. BIDEN: She and Doug have become like family and, to me, family is everything. ALEXANDER: After a lifetime in public service, the President calling on Americans to defend our democracy. BIDEN: A nation where the strength of our institutions and the character of our people matter and must endure. Now, it’s your turn to stand guard. ALEXANDER: While the majority of Americans say they are dissatisfied with his presidency, President Biden says it is going to take time for the full impact of all he accomplished to be felt. But, in his words, he insisted the “seeds are planted.”  ABC’s Good Morning America largely mirrored the network’s special report coverage from the night before with a very condensed dispatch from chief Biden regime apple polisher, Mary Bruce (click “expand”): STRAHAN: More now on President Biden’s farewell address overnight. Biden delivered a defense of democracy and a stark warning to the nation. Our chief White House correspondent Mary Bruce joins us now with more. Good morning, Mary. BRUCE: Good morning, Michael. Well, last night’s speech was a chance for the President to tout his accomplishments and try to define his own legacy. He did acknowledge that many of his policies haven’t resonated with Americans, saying that he has planted the seeds and it’s going to take some time. But what stood out most was the way he under scored the importance of American democracy and the need to protect it. The President, with a stark warning about unchecked power. BIDEN: I want to warn the country of some things that give me great concern. This is a dangerous concen — that’s a dangerous concentration of power in the hands of a very few ultra-wealthy people and the dangerous consequences if their abuse of power is left unchecked. Today, an oligarchy is taking shape in America, of extreme wealth, power, and influence that literally threatens our entire democracy. BRUCE: Now, the President issuing a plea to protect democratic institutions like a free press, warning of the dangers of misinformation. And, as his own political career winds down after more than 50 years, he is urging Americans to stay engaged to keep up his fight, saying, “it is your turn to stand guard.” His final message to the American people? I love America. You love it, too.  To see the relevant transcripts from January 16, click here (for ABC), here (for CBS Mornings), here (for CBS Mornings Plus), and here (for NBC).

Colbert's Softball To Yellen: 'Could You Have Been a Better Cheerleader?'

As Donald Trump prepares to return to the White House, CBS’s Stephen Colbert welcomed Treasury Secretary Janet Yellen to the Wednesday edition of The Late Show, where he lobbed a softball her way when he asked, “Could you have been a better cheerleader for the economy?” Also on the subject of Trump’s return, Colbert hailed former First Lady Michelle Obama’s decision to skip the inauguration, claiming she “came down with an incurable case of integrity.” During the Yellen interview, Colbert wondered, “Why do you think – this past election made it clear that 49.9 percent of American voters don't agree with you or don't agree with The Economist and that the economy was, according to polling, one of the biggest reasons why people put Donald Trump back into office? Why do you think that message about the good economy, as you say, the best economy in the world right now, especially of the advanced nations, came out of COVID in the best shape, regardless of our inflation? Could you have been a better cheerleader for the economy?”     Voters do not compare the U.S. economy to other economies; they compare it with what it was under the last guy. Additionally, “Regardless of our inflation” is the sort of unintentional comedy that the late night comedy shows occasionally provide. For her part, Yellen naturally refused to look inward, “Well, we tried and tried to explain why we were doing the best we could. We did see a huge increase in prices, something like 20 percent increase in the general price level over about three years. Now, every advanced country saw exactly the same thing when Russia invaded Ukraine, energy prices rose. Food price increases were associated with that, and this was a shock to Americans, and it came on top of a long period in which people have been really struggling with high housing costs, high healthcare costs, energy price bills, child care, making so many people feel it's tough to lead a middle-class life.” Earlier, during his monologue, Colbert happily reported, “There's going to be one person notably absent on Monday, because Michelle Obama will skip Trump's inauguration, and so far, no explanation has been given. What could it be? Some are speculating it's health-related and that she came down with an incurable case of integrity. You know what she always says? ‘When they go low, I go, 'byeee!'" Colbert wants to celebrate Michelle Obama not attending Trump’s inauguration, but she also skipped Jimmy Carter’s funeral. Why?  Whatever the reason, “integrity” is not it.     Elsewhere, Colbert also recalled, “One very special guest has been confirmed, because reportedly, the garbage truck that Trump used for a campaign photo op will appear in his Inauguration Day parade, which personally I find surprising for several reasons. First, those trucks usually take out the garbage. Second, you'll recall that Trump almost fell getting into the truck, and I assumed he had the door handle executed.” Colbert also went after Coca-Cola for making a commemorative inauguration soda can, “A lot of corporations are bellying up to the all-you-can-smooch Trump butt buffet. But this next corporation stings. Yesterday, the CEO of Coca-Cola made the pilgrimage down to Mar-a-Lago and gave Trump this inaugural Diet Coke bottle with a picture of the White House and Trump's name right on the label. It's not the first time an autocrat has been honored with a soft drink. Who can forget the failed roll-out of Dr. Stalin?” The photoshopped Dr. Pepper-Stalin spoof is something The Late Show made up for laughs, just like the idea that Trump is somehow comparable to a genocidal dictator who murdered millions of people is not a real thing. Here is a transcript for the January 15 show: CBS The Late Show with Stephen Colbert 1/15/2025 11:41 PM ET STEPHEN COLBERT: There's going to be one person notably absent on Monday, because Michelle Obama will skip Trump's inauguration, and so far, no explanation has been given. What could it be? Some are speculating it's health-related and that she came down with an incurable case of integrity. You know what she always says? "When they go low, I go, 'byeee!'" Hi. Are you guys doing? You guys okay?  One very special guest has been confirmed, because reportedly, the garbage truck that Trump used for a campaign photo op will appear in his Inauguration Day parade, which personally I find surprising for several reasons. First, those trucks usually take out the garbage. Second, you'll recall that Trump almost fell getting into the truck, and I assumed he had the door handle executed.  Of course, a lot of corporations are bellying up to the all-you-can-smooch Trump butt buffet. Stalin? Dr. Stalin. Dr. Stalin. … COLBERT: Why do you think – this past election made it clear that 49.9 percent of American voters don't agree with you or don't agree with The Economist and that the economy was, according to polling, one of the biggest reasons why people put Donald Trump back into office? Why do you think that message about the good economy, as you say, the best economy in the world right now, especially of the advanced nations, came out of COVID in the best shape, regardless of our inflation? Could you have been a better cheerleader for the economy? Now, when I look at the data, what it tells me is that wages also increased and according to our calculations, the typical wage earner is able to afford now, the same basket of goods and services as back before the pandemic with $1,600 left over to save or spend. So the typical worker is better off.

Trump-hating WaPo Pulitzer Prize-winning cartoonist, who mocked Republicans as 'groomers,' arrested on child porn charges

A long-time Washington Post cartoonist has been arrested in California on child pornography charges, according to authorities. According to Sacramento Sheriff's Office records, 49-year-old Darrin Bell was arrested on Wednesday at his south Sacramento home. Bell is being held at the Sacramento County Jail on $1 million bail. 'Donald Trump, like his friend Jeffrey Epstein, is a predator who grooms his victims.'The Sacramento Bee reported that Bell was charged with suspicion of possession and creating child pornography. The Sacramento County Sheriff's Office said in a statement that law enforcement was tipped off to possible child sex crimes by the National Center for Missing and Exploited Children. The sheriff's office said an individual had uploaded 18 files of child sex abuse material. Police said the child porn files led them to an account "owned and controlled" by Bell. Investigators said they discovered a total of 134 child pornography videos on Bell's account. Detectives executed a search at Bell's home, where they recovered the illicit files but also AI-generated child porn. Officials noted that this was the first arrest by the Sacramento Valley Hi-Tech Task Force/Internet Crimes Against Children Task Force involving the possession of a computer-generated/AI CSAM. The law to charge individuals with AI-generated child porn went into effect on Jan. 1, 2025. According to a LinkedIn profile, Bell was a member of the Washington Post Writers Group for nearly 20 years until March 2023. The profile shows that Bell is currently a cartoonist at King Features Syndicate — a unit of the Hearst Corporation.Bell was awarded the Pulitzer Prize in 2019. The Washington Post featured a profile of Bell in June 2023, which highlighted him having "the talk" with his three young children about racism and police violence against black people. Bell regularly attacked Donald Trump in his cartoons, including an image depicting the president-elect attempting to grope the Statue of Liberty and several that compared him to Adolf Hitler. When Trump was re-elected, Bell wrote: "Convicted felon, rapist, con-man and white supremacist Donald Trump decisively defeats Kamala Harris to become the 47th president of the United States. And this time he won the popular vote. The voters in the USA chose this Neo-Confederate president with their eyes open."Bell said of Trump in February 2024, "He’s a racist, treasonous, autocrat-admiring career criminal and rapist. Being desperate to stop him from getting back into the White House is the normal reaction that every decent person should have."In October 2020, Bell wrote on the X social media platform: "Donald Trump, like his friend Jeffrey Epstein, is a predator who grooms his victims. He’s grooming his supporters to refuse to accept any election outcome other than a Trump victory. And he’s grooming the rest of us to tolerate whatever he & red states may do to flip results."In a cartoon titled "The Groomer," Bell drew the GOP's elephant and had the Republican symbol cornering young children and exposing itself to the kids.In one of his cartoons, Bell compared rabid Trump supporters using the term "groomer" to Nazis. Grooming is when a sexual predator builds a relationship with typically a child, but it can be an adult, to abuse and exploit them by manipulating them to reduce the risk of them being caught.Another one of Bell's cartoons spotlights the sexual assault accusations against Supreme Court Justice Brett Kavanaugh. In 2011, Bell wrote on the X social media platform: "To a child, 'rape' & 'rapist' are merely words. If you explain it calmly it's simply a lesson. A valuable one."Bell is also known for his comic strip “Candorville,” which features three childhood friends.Bell is scheduled to appear in court on Jan. 17. Like Blaze News? Stacey Abrams' groups forced to pay largest campaign violation fine recorded in Georgia's history

Stacey Abrams' groups forced to pay largest campaign violation fine recorded in Georgia's history

Two groups founded by failed gubernatorial candidate Stacey Abrams (D) that sided with alleged domestic terrorists in 2023 have been slapped with what the Georgia State Ethics Commission indicated Wednesday was both the largest fine it has ever imposed and possibly also "the largest Ethics Fine ever imposed by any State Ethics Commission in the country related to an election and campaign finance case." Abrams and her groups have been embroiled in scandals for over a decade. Atlanta Magazine reported in 2015, around the time Abrams' groups were apparently siphoning millions of dollars in donations and turning out pitiful results, that funders were keen to know where their money went. The late state Sen. Vincent Fort stated, "[Abrams] hasn't been open and transparent." Influence Watch noted that in its first years, Abrams' nonprofit New Georgia Project — whose stated mission is "to build power with and increase the civic participation of ... black, Latinx, AAPI, and young Georgians ... and other historically marginalized communities" — not only failed to meet its quotas but was accused of submitting fraudulent voter registration applications and paying over $1.5 million to a D.C.-based voter registration firm instead of doing the work itself. Meanwhile, Abrams was accused of taking a massive salary while working for only 20 hours per week for the organization. When it came time for Abrams to announce her ill-fated gubernatorial bid in 2017, her groups were apparently ready to engage in far more consequential wrongdoing on her behalf. In 2019, a Georgia Government Transparency and Campaign Finance Commission attorney filed complaints alleging that the NGP engaged in substantial election spending in 2018 and 2019 without registering or filing the required disclosures. In the investigation that ensued, the commission subpoenaed the NGP's bank records and invoices. 'This represents the largest and most significant instance of an organization illegally influencing our statewide elections.' The commission alleged in 2022 that Abrams' New Georgia Project and the New Georgia Project Action Fund had failed to disclose over $3 million worth of electioneering expenses and over $4 million in political contributions between 2017 and 2019. Axios noted at the time that the commission argued the action fund and the nonprofit operated as a single entity but neglected to register as a super PAC or "independent committee" and failed to detail electioneering expenses. Democratic Sen. Raphael Warnock (Ga.) was CEO of the scandal-plagued outfit in 2017, 2018, and 2019. The commission advanced the complaint in August 2022, having determined that the NGP and its corresponding action fund had violated campaign ethics laws at least eight times. It turns out that the group was apparently guilty of many more violations than first thought. The Georgia State Ethics Commission noted Wednesday, several six- and seven-figure NGP financial discrepancies later, that "this represents the largest and most significant instance of an organization illegally influencing our statewide elections in Georgia that we have ever discovered." The current leaders of Abrams' group admitted in the consent decree, unanimously approved by the ethics board and released Wednesday, to 16 instances of illegal activity and agreed to pay a fine of $300,000 for violating state law. David Fox, a lawyer for the NGP and action fund, told commissioners over video, "The matter relates to events from more than five years ago, and respondents are eager to put the matter behind them," reported the Associated Press. Michael Brewer, a spokesman for Warnock's Senate office, suggested that the Democrat who was listed as CEO of the NGP during the time of its worst known abuses knew nothing of the violations. David Emadi, executive director of the commission, said of Warnock's potential culpability, "I'm not prepared to say he had direct involvement in this." Politico noted that a spokesman for Abrams did not respond to its request for comment. Like Blaze News? California fire chief reveals BIG issue with federal forest agencies

California may be in the midst of burning, but it’s not just Democrat Governor Newsom’s state that needs to clean up its forests before more devastating fires break out. Orange County Fire Authority Chief Brian Fennessy knows this all too well and agrees with Glenn Beck of “The Glenn Beck Program” that what has happened in California was “totally predictable.” “When I started back in 1978, we’d usually have a few days' notice. You know, meteorology is not what it is today. We started to get notified about 10 days out, and then confidence builds at seven days, and then when you’re about four days out, we’re pretty sure what to expect,” Fennessy tells Glenn. “It seems as though it was known that this was going to happen,” Glenn responds. “This is routine. You expect the Santa Ana winds every year, you expect forest fires and brushfires in California every year.” “It seems like incompetence of cutting the funding for the fire agencies, not really truly being prepared, and then on top of it, it seems incompetence to a level that is almost criminal. And then the third part of this, as we see it, as I see it, is there might be some actors after the main fire started,” he continues. “I don’t know for sure,” Fennessy responds. “I will tell you this. I grew up in Altadena, and that’s one of the towns that’s pretty well wiped out. And so, when you live that close to the foothills, you’re used to Santa Ana winds.” However, Fennessy is getting a similar story to Glenn’s. “I’m probably hearing the same things that you are, that reservoirs may not have been as filled as they needed to be. Yes, a draw on the system can cause some decrease in pressure, but I’ve never heard of it, but I’ve never heard of anything where there actually wasn’t pressure,” Fennessy says. “I do know, and I’ve shared this with people, that in 2003, in San Diego, we had at the time the largest fire in California history. We lost pressure, but that was because pump houses, pump stations, had been burned and we didn’t know they existed,” he continues. “Had we known, we’d have protected those pump houses as much as we protect a house.” Fennessy believes that it’s not just water supply and pump houses, but that even more can be done to prevent wildfires all around the country. “I’ve worked for both the USDA and the USDI, and let’s face it,” Fennessy says. “Firefighters for decades have done such a great job at suppressing fires quickly that it’s caused this growth and we’ve got an unhealthy landscape out there.” “We need to start putting beneficial fire back on the landscape; we need to clear the brush,” he continues. “We need to do something about this unhealthy forest.” Want more from Glenn Beck?To enjoy more of Glenn’s masterful storytelling, thought-provoking analysis, and uncanny ability to make sense of the chaos, subscribe to BlazeTV — the largest multi-platform network of voices who love America, defend the Constitution, and live the American dream.

Nonbinary city councilor takes 1-month hiatus from council meetings after being 'misgendered' by other members

The first openly nonbinary council member elected in Massachusetts history is taking a hiatus from appearing at city council meetings because of "misgendering" by other members. On Wednesday, Councilor-at-Large Thu Nguyen accused Worcester Mayor Joseph Petty of misgendering and said a one-month hiatus was necessary for the member's mental health. 'Hate should have no home in city hall and in Worcester City Council as well.' Nguyen posted a video from 2022 that showed Petty "misgendering" Nguyen. "I really really wish I felt safe enough to show up on the council floor, but I don't," said Nguyen. "I have faced transphobia with being misgendered."Petty said he had corrected himself and apologized to Nguyen once the mistake was brought to his attention. “During my 13 years as Mayor, I have always tried to treat every councilor with the dignity and respect they deserve,” read a statement from Petty. “I would never knowingly say anything harmful, and I firmly believe everyone deserves the dignity of having their identity honored and respected.”He went on to suggest that Nguyen simply didn't want to appear in person after it was mandated for meetings and sub-meetings. “I will not apologize for holding myself and my colleagues accountable to the responsibilities entrusted to us by the people we serve,“ he continued. ”Being available, accessible, and engaged is a fundamental expectation of our roles, and it is critical to the success of the city."Nguyen also claimed in the statement on Wednesday that another councilor-at-large had committed an act of misgendering against Nguyen and that a separate council member had referred to Nguyen as "it" several times. Other members on the council called for the accused to apologize to Nguyen. “City Councilors proclaim that hate has no home in Worcester,” wrote District 5 Councilor Etel Haxhiaj. “I agree. Hate should have no home in city hall and in Worcester City Council as well.”Nguyen is also the first Southeast Asian-American member on the Worcester council. Images from the city council meetings in Worcester can be viewed on the news video report from WCVB-TV on YouTube. Like Blaze News? Chicago Dems devolve into civil war over sanctuary laws shielding illegal aliens

The Chicago City Council devolved into a civil war on Wednesday after Democratic members voted against a proposal from two of their colleagues to roll back the city's sanctuary laws.Democratic aldermen Raymond Lopez and Silvana Tabares introduced an amendment to Chicago's Welcoming City Ordinance that would have allowed the Chicago Police Department to cooperate with federal immigration agents when illegal aliens have been arrested or convicted of certain crimes. 'They profit on fear.'Under the current ordinance, city officials are prohibited from cooperating with Immigration and Customs Enforcement in any enforcement situation. The proposal would have granted local officials the ability to cooperate with ICE when an illegal alien is arrested or convicted of sexual crimes involving a minor or gang, drug, and prostitution-related activities. The above carve-outs proposed by the aldermen were previously removed under former Mayor Lori Lightfoot (D).Wednesday's city council meeting was packed with residents who came out to voice support for both sides of the issue.During the meeting's rowdy public comment period, a man who referred to himself as "the Chicago Conservative" spoke in support of removing sanctuary protections for illegal aliens.During the previous speaker's comments and while the Chicago Conservative walked toward the microphone, Mayor Brandon Johnson (D) could be seen away from his seat, having a side conversation."Good morning, Brandon Johnson," the Chicago Conservative said. "I'm going to start off with this question: Who are you loyal to, the American citizens here in Chicago or the illegal immigrants here in Chicago?"His comments received boos and jeers from some residents in the chamber."The sanctuary law that Brandon Johnson allowed has drawn criminals, drug dealers, and now terrorists — we have terrorists in our city now. Some here in city hall as we speak," the Chicago Conservative continued. Johnson returned to his seat to address the audience uproar and restore order to the chamber, briefly pausing the Chicago Conservative's speech to issue a warning to those being disruptive."The Democratic Party cannot save us. Only God can save us," the Chicago Conservative added. During the meeting, the city council voted 39-11 to dismiss the Democratic aldermen's proposal.Lopez and Tabares may have an opportunity to pass the proposal during a future meeting. However, it would require 34 votes to approve, and Johnson, who has been a staunch supporter of the city's sanctuary status, would undoubtedly move to veto it.Johnson applauded the city council for rejecting the amendment."Our job is to make sure that people are protected and safe. That is the top priority of any government, and that's what we're going to do," Johnson stated. "The fear that has found its way in the city of Chicago, because of the threats that are coming from the incoming administration, the people of Chicago can rest assured that the full force of government will do everything in its power to protect the residents of this city."Tabares responded to the vote, saying, "These immigrant advocates, they don't want to solve the problem.""It fuels their narrative and capacity to fundraise, and so they profit on fear," she added.Lopez claimed, "All of this is just political theater for them to have a boogeyman to point at the next four years."
