Tomlinson Fangirls Over Alleged CEO Assassin's Fashion Sense

CBS’s Taylor Tomlinson continued her strange quest to turn alleged health insurance CEO assassin Luigi Mangione into a sex symbol on Wednesday’s edition of After Midnight. Tomlinson began to conclude her monologue by reporting, “And finally: new Luigi outfit just dropped.”     After some hooting and hollering from the audience, Tomlinson continued as she talked over a screenshot of a New York Post headline that claimed, in part, “Luigi Mangione’s fancy trial loafers spark 1,400% Google search spike.” She declared, “Yeah, he was seen in court wearing loafers with no socks, so now it's being called the ‘New summer footwear fashion.’ Yeah, bare ankles haven't gotten this much hype since the Victorian Era.  Tomlinson suggested the episode proved that men have it all wrong when they are trying to impress women, “It's funny, men are always trying to get bigger biceps, meanwhile we’re going incognito mode to open Wikiankles. I swear everything Luigi does turns into a trend. He's like Regina George in Mean Girls. Next spring all the fashion girlies are going to be wearing ‘No chance of parole' core.” Last month, Tomlinson compared Mangione to Canadian Prime Minister Justin Trudeau, describing the former as a “hotter, younger health advocate” and mused about how “I bet we could peer pressure Joe Biden into pardoning Luigi before he leaves office.” Here is a transcript for the February 26-taped show: CBS After Midnight 2/27/2025 12:43 AM ET TAYLOR TOMLINSON: And finally: new Luigi outfit just dropped. Yeah, he was seen in court wearing loafers with no socks, so now it's being called the "New summer footwear fashion." Yeah, bare ankles haven't gotten this much hype since the Victorian Era. It's funny, men are always trying to get bigger biceps, meanwhile we’re going incognito mode to open Wikiankles. I swear everything Luigi does turns into a trend. He's like Regina George in Mean Girls. Next spring all the fashion girlies are going to be wearing "No chance of parole” core.

Flying Too Close to the Sun? Maddow Defense of Reid Reportedly Seen as Cringe

The indispensable weekly dispatch Wednesday night from Puck’s Dylan Byers dove into the fallout from MSNBC’s axing of Joy Reid (and demotions of Jonathan Capehart, Ayman Moyheldin, and Kate Phang) with MSNBC staff reportedly uneasy with longtime host Rachel Maddow’s latest public blasting of her bosses. While her public criticisms were supported in the past (and we’ll get to those later), Byers wrote this defense of Reid seemed out-of-touch. “This time around, however, the response inside the network to Maddow’s chest-thumping was more skeptical...After all, her critique of the network glossed over a few important details that did not go unnoticed by her colleagues, including several other anchor,” Byers said, putting it mildly before tearing into her factual inaccuracies. Earlier, he noted she’d “soon be ending her 100-day run as a five-night-a-week anchor and returning to her famously plum $25 million-a-year, Mondays-only gig” and that the other half of her hissy fit was that hard-working producers (“roughly 125 production staffers”) were being let go (yet free to reapply for 110 spots). Byers did the math on how much 125 behind-the-camera staffers cost and, would you believe it, it equals her salary. On top of that, he delivered a zinger about Maddow seemingly viewing cable newsrooms as “Montessori schools” in an era with cable writ large hemorrhaging dough and thus life “gets real” (click “expand”): Several of Maddow’s colleagues also noted the peculiarity of the star anchor’s cri de coeur on behalf of the 30 Rock proletariat...Maddow seemed to miss an obvious irony of her critique: She gets paid $25 million a year to effectively work one day a week, an absurdly misaligned salary that allows her to comfortably shuttle between her Manhattan apartment and pre-Civil War farmhouse retreat in the Berkshires, but puts a financial burden on MSNBC to stringently manage the unit economics of every other hour in primetime. Put another way, her annual salary is roughly equivalent to the combined salary of about—go figure—125 production staffers. (....) Maddow may have a point about “treating people well” and “having their back,” but terminally declining industries aren’t Montessori schools—shit gets real. In the increasingly ruthless world of cable news, anchors who don’t rate won’t be sent off to sinecures; budgets will continue to dwindle; other apparent indignities will present themselves, just as they once did in book publishing or the record industry. Where will anchors and producers go for a drink after their shows… in Stamford? If she’s this fired up about Joy Reid, she might not be able to stay here forever. Along with her hypocrisy on cash flow, Byers noticed Maddow bemoaned the programming changes as “worse than bad, no matter who replaces them,” thus ignoring Reid’s replacements Alicia Menendez, Symone Sanders-Townsend, and Michael Steele: Reid was being replaced at 7 p.m. by another Black woman (Symone), a Black man (Steele), and the first Latina woman (Menendez) to host an MSNBC primetime show in the network’s history. Not to put too fine a point on it, but the “two, count ’em two, nonwhite hosts” were actually being replaced by three—count ’em three—nonwhite hosts...[W]as it really “indefensible” to make space for three anchors of color whose chemistry might conceivably enhance the network’s popularity at a time when its ratings have been in the gutter? She also omitted the reality MSNBC had cut Reid as she “simply didn’t rate, and she had also become emblematic of the worst instincts of partisan punditry, building up a formidable sizzle reel of anti-conservative attacks in which she sometimes portrayed all Republicans as racists[.]” Byers noted these piercing jabs at unnamed bosses (including new MSNBC head Rebecca Kutler) may have left “the hundreds of thousands of elderly loyal viewers” with “no earthly idea what the [expletive] their favorite political commentator was talking about,” this was similar to the hissy fit she threw last year when NBC briefly hired former Republican National Committee Chairwoman Ronna McDaniel as a political analyst. He hilariously dubbed this as having “catalyz[ed] a stupid daylong, Dead Poets Society-style desk-jumping cascade in which nearly every MSNBC anchor took a turn dunking on the suits at 30 Rock.” We would add a slight fact-check that this was actually at least the fourth time she put her bosses on notice as, back in February and June 2015, she weighed on how MSNBC/NBC treated her buddy, Lyin’ Brian Williams. Byers asked the key question concerning the reality MSNBC and six other networks will have to financially stand on its own as a new company without Comcast: “[H]ow valuable is a talent who now brings in only 2 million viewers for one hour a week, and reserves the right to occasionally fly off the handle and nuke her bosses?”

Scott Jennings shreds legacy media's press pool freak-out with hard facts

CNN political commentator Scott Jennings shredded legacy media's freak-out over the Trump administration's decision to shake up the press pool.Critics of President Donald Trump have accused him of acting like a dictator by limiting event access for corporate outlets in exchange for providing more access to new media channels, including Blaze Media.'Trump is being far more transparent than any recent administration.'During a Tuesday episode of "CNN NewsNight," Jennings set the record straight about the Trump administration's transparency compared to former President Joe Biden.Xochitl Hinojosa, a Democratic National Committee spokesperson, accused Trump of revoking White House access for "individual reporters" as well as entire media outlets."When Trump doesn't like a question, he doesn't like a story in the New York Times, he doesn't like anything that someone says about him, he can ban those individuals," Hinojosa said. "That's something a dictator would do.""That is something that is scary," she added. "He's trying to filter the news to the American people."Host Abby Phillip responded by reading an X post from Peter Baker, a chief White House correspondent for the New York Times."Having served as a Moscow correspondent in the early days of Putin's reign, this reminds me of how the Kremlin took over its own press pool and made sure that only compliant journalists were given access," Baker wrote. "OK, can we just address this dictator business," Jennings jumped into the conversation. Jennings referred to a statistic from Chris Cillizza, a political commentator who previously worked at CNN."Our old friend Chris Cillizza, who calculated that in the first month of the Trump administration, the president took 1,009 questions," he continued. "Hardly dictatorial behavior.""Same stat for Joe Biden: 141," Jennings noted. "And I would remind you all that in 2023, the Biden administration revoked the hard passes of 442 journalists. And at the time, the White House Correspondents Association took, quote, 'a noncommittal stance.' So if you're worried about transparency, Trump is being far more transparent than any recent administration."In May 2023, Biden revoked hundreds of journalists' press passes. Upon taking office, the Trump administration restored the media credentials for those reporters. A report from the New York Post stated that during the first 31 days of his first term, President Barack Obama took 161 questions.Further, the outlet noted that under the Trump administration, reporters often ask four or five questions apiece during each event.Anything else?Fox News Digital reported Wednesday that Jennings is being encouraged to run for Senate in 2026 to replace Kentucky Sen. Mitch McConnell (R).Jennings did not respond to a request for comment from the news outlet. Like Blaze News? DNC anti-'misinformation' account caught pushing provocative fake audio of Donald Trump Jr.

DNC anti-'misinformation' account caught pushing provocative fake audio of Donald Trump Jr.

The Democratic National Committee's rapid response account FactPostNews, established in January as part of an initiative to "combat online misinformation," was caught Wednesday pushing a fake audio clip purporting to show Donald Trump Jr. voicing support for turning against Ukraine and arming Russia. "The audio in question, which was amplified by the official X account of the DNC, along with countless other major anti-Trump accounts, is 100% fake," a spokesman for Donald Trump Jr. told ABC News. "It appears to be an AI-generated deepfake." Hany Farid, a professor at the University of California, Berkeley, and the co-founder of GetReal Labs who is an expert on digital forensics and synthetic media, appeared to agree, suggesting that the audio viewed millions of times and shared at least 6,600 times on X was most likely generated by artificial intelligence. The clip was presented as an excerpt from the Feb. 25 episode of Don Jr.'s podcast ... even though the episode still had not been uploaded. In the fake audio clip shared by the DNC's FactPostNews account, thousands of other partisan accounts, and foreign outfits like Visegrád 24, a voice made to resemble Trump Jr.'s says, "I honestly can't imagine anyone in their right mind picking Ukraine as an ally when Russia is the other option." "I mean, just think about it: Massive nuclear power loaded with natural resources everyone needs, literally the biggest country on the planet. And ha ha, there's Ukraine, which has Chernobyl and some radiation-proof dogs," continues the voice. "Meanwhile, the Biden administration is like, 'Oh, yeah, this is definitely the ally we need. Let's dump all our money into them.' Honestly, if anything, the U.S. should have been sending weapons to Russia." Mediaite reported that there were immediately suspicions about the authenticity of the audio, especially since the clip was presented as an excerpt from the Feb. 25 episode of Don Jr.'s podcast, "Triggered with Donald Trump Jr.," on Spotify, even though the episode still had not been uploaded to the platform as of Thursday morning. In the full Feb. 25 episode that aired on Rumble, the remarks were nowhere to be found. Andrew Surabian, a Republican strategist and spokesman for Donald Trump Jr., tweeted, "This is 100% fake AI generated audio, but I'm sure that won't stop anti-Trump resistance accounts from continuing to dishonestly spread it." Citing a policy against "misinformation," a spokesman for the DNC told ABC News that the post was removed as soon as it was learned that the audio spread online was fake. When Democrats launched FactPostNews, DNC chief mobilization officer Shelby Cole said in a statement, "The Republican disinformation machine is powerful, but we believe a stronger weapon is giving people the facts about how Trump and his administration are screwing over the American people." The DNC does not appear to have bothered issuing a public apology for presenting provocative Russia-based falsehoods to its audience as "facts." Like Blaze News? Anti-ICE activists dox agents, sabotaging operations — Homan seeks retribution

Activists in the Los Angeles area doxxed Immigration and Customs Enforcement agents conducting operations nearby, and border czar Tom Homan is pursuing criminal prosecution.Fox News' Bill Melugin shared a photo earlier this week of a poster featuring several photographs of ICE and Homeland Security Investigations officers, as well as their names and phone numbers.'This shouldn't be controversial.'He explained that the bulletins, posted around Southern California, roughly translated from Spanish to read, "Careful with these faces.""These armed agents work in Southern California. ICE and HSI racially terrorize and criminalize entire communities with their policies. They kidnap people from their homes and from the streets, separating families and fracturing communities. Many people have died while locked up in jails, prisons, and detention centers," it continued. The poster warned that the law enforcement agents were expected to conduct some type of operation last Sunday."Per multiple federal law enforcement sources, anti ICE activists, which have been disrupting & live streaming ICE operations in the LA area in recent days, have now put up posters doxing SoCal ICE & HSI agents, revealing their faces, names, & phone numbers. I'm told ICE is aware and investigating," Melugin explained. "It is unclear which activist group is posting these."On Wednesday, Homan addressed the doxxing plot on "Fox & Friends," stating that the posters "crossed the line."Homan noted that, due to ongoing death threats, he has 24/7 security around his home."I know what it's like to be doxxed," he told Fox News. "These agents don't deserve that. These agents put a gun on their hip and wear a Kevlar vest every day, trying to make their communities safer."He reiterated that the current deportation efforts are "focusing on the worst of the worst," including criminal and national security threats. Homan stated that he had scheduled a meeting with Department of Justice officials to determine what can be done about the doxxing activists who are thwarting ICE's operations. "I think it crossed the line of impeding a federal law enforcement officer in the performance of their duties. So I'm hoping we find out who these people are and we can criminally prosecute them," he added.A Los Angeles FBI spokesperson told Fox News, "The FBI safeguards Constitutionally protected rights, including freedom of speech and assembly. However, any individual who impedes law enforcement operations, potentially threatening the safety of law enforcement agents and subjects of their investigations, is subject to investigation and potential prosecution by the Department of Justice."Earlier this week, a DHS spokesperson told Fox News that the activists' attempts were "putting targets on the backs of our law enforcement as they shield MS-13, Tren de Aragua, and other vicious gangs that traffic women and children, kidnap for ransom, and poison Americans with lethal drugs.""These individuals will be held accountable for obstructing the law and justice. This shouldn't be controversial," the spokesperson added. The news outlet reported that anti-ICE activists sabotaged a federal law enforcement operation on Sunday involving ICE, the FBI, and the Drug Enforcement Administration. ICE stated that the operation was not a raid. Like Blaze News? Bypass the censors, sign up for our newsletters, and get stories like this direct to your inbox. Sign up here!

Nevada's GOP governor gets serious on immigration while Democrat AG advocates weak-kneed approach

The Republican governor of Nevada made clear this week that his state will comply with all federal immigration laws after the Democrat attorney general recommended limiting enforcement in certain circumstances. The political spat began after Attorney General Aaron Ford — a far-left Democrat who regularly opposes the Trump administration, lectures about "racial injustice," and recently participated in a forum to help immigrants navigate their interactions with ICE — offered "model immigration policies" as required by state law.The policies suggest that cops concentrate on local crimes rather than "engaging in unpaid and non-criminal federal immigration enforcement." "The federal government is not entitled to free labor from our state public servants, who work diligently for Nevadans," the AG's announcement stated. The announcement added that the AG consulted with various "stakeholders" to help construct these immigration recommendations. Among those stakeholders are the Keep Nevada Working Task Force — a board under the purview of the secretary of state that apparently focuses on employment for immigrants, not citizens — as well as members of the Nevada Immigrant Coalition.Though the website for the Nevada Immigrant Coalition offers little content, it does include pictures demanding "citizenship now" and promoting the rights of illegal alien minors.Ford further claimed in a statement that his recommendations reflect the will of the state legislature — currently in full control of the Democrats — about limiting immigration enforcement in places like schools, hospitals, and courthouses. The Nevada Legislature intended these policies to limit "to the fullest extent possible and consistent with any applicable law, immigration enforcement at public schools, institutions of higher education, health care facilities and courthouses to ensure that such places remain safe and accessible to residents of this State regardless of the immigration status or citizenship of such persons."By engaging in a multi-year process with stakeholders, we are confident that these goals have been met. I am very proud of this collective effort. However, the announcement also noted that "the policies are recommendations ... not requirements" and that they "do not give sanctuary to criminals."'As long as I am Governor, Nevada will continue to follow federal law.'Republican Gov. Joe Lombardo — the former sheriff of the Las Vegas Metropolitan Police Department — immediately released a response, slamming Ford's model immigration recommendations as promoting "sanctuary"-like policies."Let me be clear: The Attorney General does not have the authority to make Nevada a sanctuary state or jurisdiction," Lombardo said in a statement. "As long as I am Governor, Nevada will continue to follow federal law."Lombardo further stated that "all affected state agencies" would continue to follow state and federal immigration law and that "the Model Immigration Policies are non-binding and non-mandatory guidelines." — (@) Ford then responded in kind. "The governor’s outrage would make more sense if these model policies were a surprise — but they aren’t," Ford said Wednesday. "The Legislature directed this work, and my office followed through. If the governor didn’t know that, the question isn’t about my office — it’s about his."Ford has already teased a gubernatorial run in 2026, when Lombardo is up for re-election. Thus their public bickering may be little more than typical political grandstanding.Between the mining in the rural north, the libertarian mindset that allowed Las Vegas to flourish, and the unions that represent much of the gaming and hospitality industries, Nevada truly is a purple state, oscillating between Republican and Democrat leadership for decades. However, prior to 2024, the state had not voted for a Republican presidential candidate since President George W. Bush's re-election 20 years earlier.U.S. Attorney General Pam Bondi has warned states to comply with federal immigration law or risk losing federal funding. Bondi has since sued New York for allegedly failing to enforce immigration laws."New York has chosen to prioritize illegal aliens over American citizens," Bondi said at a press conference earlier this month. "It stops. It stops today."Like Blaze News? Bypass the censors, sign up for our newsletters, and get stories like this direct to your inbox. Sign up here!

Democrats carry Trump's labor pick through key committee vote

Lori Chavez-DeRemer, President Donald Trump's pick to head the Department of Labor, cleared a procedural vote Thursday with the help of Senate Democrats, advancing her nomination to the Senate floor. The Senate Health, Education, Labor and Pensions Committee advanced Chavez-DeRemer's nomination in a 13-9 vote with the support of Democratic Sens. Maggie Hassan of New Hampshire, Tim Kaine of Virginia, and John Hickenlooper of Colorado as well as 10 Republicans. 'As the daughter of a Teamster, Lori Chavez-DeRemer knows the importance of carrying a union card and what it means to grow up in a middle-class household.'Republican Sen. Rand Paul of Kentucky was the only GOP senator to vote against Chavez-DeRemer's nomination, citing concerns over her previous support for the PRO Act. Notably, Chavez-DeRemer reversed her position on the PRO Act when Paul pressed her about it in her confirmation hearing. "This is the question, whether this is sort of a death-bed reversal or whether or not she is truly for this," Paul told reporters after the hearing."I'm going to think about her answers and think about whether or not a conversion in this last moment is sincere," Paul added.Although Chavez-DeRemer received support from several Democrats, not all of them entirely endorsed the nominee. “I have some concerns … but it just gets worse from here,” Kaine said. Chavez-DeRemer previously served in Congress, representing Oregon's 5th Congressional District from 2023 to 2025, although she was ousted by her Democratic challenger in November. During her time in office, Chavez-DeRemer was regarded as a more moderate, pro-union Republican, reflecting her swing district. Chavez-DeRemer additionally secured an endorsement from the Teamsters union, which is the largest union in the United States. "As the daughter of a Teamster, Lori Chavez-DeRemer knows the importance of carrying a union card and what it means to grow up in a middle-class household,” Teamsters General President Sean O’Brien said in a statement. “Working people need someone with her experience leading the agency that is tasked with protecting workers, creating good union jobs, and rebuilding our nation’s middle class," O'Brien added. "The Teamsters are grateful to President Trump for putting American workers first by nominating Rep. Chavez-DeRemer to this important role.” Like Blaze News?
