No Way Will Pope Francis Go To the Reoopening of Notre Dame

Pope Francis sternly ruled out any possibility of visiting France for the reopening of the Notre Dame cathedral on his return flight on Friday from Southeast Asia. Speaking during an in-flight press conference on the papal plane on Sept. 13, the pope resolutely stated: “I will not go to Paris!” French President Emmanuel Macron invited […] The post No Way Will Pope Francis Go To the Reoopening of Notre Dame appeared first on www.independentsentinel.com.

Constitution Killer Kamala

Today is Constitution Day, the day we celebrate the signing of the United States Constitution on September 17, 1787, as explained here. Tragically, enemies of the Constitution are trying to kill it, and one of its greatest supporters, Donald Trump. The great Chinese general and strategist Sun Tzu taught: “If you know the enemy and […] The post Constitution Killer Kamala appeared first on www.independentsentinel.com.

CNN Pundit Torches Panelists Over 2000 ‘Election Denialism’: ‘Remind Me Of The Rules?’

CNN Republican commentator Scott Jennings unloaded on a Monday night panel, torching Democrat panelists over claims that former Vice President Al Gore actually won the 2000 presidential election over former President George W. Bush. Jennings dubbed the exchange, “Conspiracy Theory Night here at The Abby Phillip Show,” mocking his fellow panelist Elie Mystal for suggesting that the Supreme Court would find a way to change the outcome of the 2024 presidential election in former President Trump’s favor. “Can someone remind me of the rules on election denialism?” Jennings asked in his caption on X. “Two panelists assured me on @cnn that the 2000 election was stolen. Plus, Dems gave the game away on Harris’s moderate rhetoric. My 10pm nightcap on Conspiracy Theory Night!” WATCH: Can someone remind me of the rules on election denialism? My 10pm nightcap on Conspiracy Theory Night! pic.twitter.com/m0OJNletJW — Scott Jennings (@ScottJenningsKY) September 17, 2024 Mystal, when given an open floor to discuss any topic he chose, ran with a recent story he’d read about the Supreme Court — particularly Chief Justice John Roberts. “My big story this weekend was The New York Times’ excellent reporting on John Roberts and how he’s been putting the thumb on the scale for Donald Trump all past this term,” he began. “So my hot take is this: If Harris is lucky enough to win the Electoral College by only one state, John Roberts and his Supreme Court will find a way to flip that state back into Trump and give Trump the victory. It will be a redo of 2000. So the people in Harris’s camp need to understand they need to win by more than one state. They need to win by two, three, four states to make their margin of victory so large that the Supreme Court can’t take it away from them.” Am I Racist? Is In Theaters NOW — Get Your Tickets Here! Anchor Abby Phillip appeared unsure how to respond, saying simply, “Hmmm, there’s a lot going on in that.” Jennings jumped in, saying, “I mean, for the record, [George W.] Bush won Florida.” “Come on, guys. It’s conspiracy theory night here at the Abby Phillip show!” he added when several jumped in to object. Jennings went on to give his take on Vice President Kamala Harris and her campaign’s attempt to appeal to the middle — namely that he wasn’t buying it, and he didn’t think anyone else should either.

IG Introduces ‘Teen Accounts’ With Built-In Privacy Settings ‘To Better Support Parents’

Social media giant Meta announced on Tuesday that its platform Instagram will be instituting new privacy settings that are “built-in” for teenagers’ accounts. After facing criticism for an apparent lack of safety surrounding minors’ Instagram accounts, Meta said the new “Teen Accounts” will protect young social media users while putting the parents in control. Teen Accounts will “limit who can contact them and the content they see” by keeping minors’ accounts private, meaning other Instagram users cannot see posts from or contact a Teen Account unless the teenager accepts their follow requests. “We know parents want to feel confident that their teens can use social media to connect with their friends and explore their interests, without having to worry about unsafe or inappropriate experiences. We understand parents’ concerns, and that’s why we’re reimagining our apps for teens with new Teen Accounts,” Meta said in a statement. “This new experience is designed to better support parents, and give them peace of mind that their teens are safe with the right protections in place.” Earlier this year, Meta CEO Mark Zuckerberg — along with the leaders of TikTok and X — testified before Congress on how his social media empire was addressing concerns from users and parents about privacy and the effects of social media on children. In one tense exchange during the hearing, Sen. Josh Hawley (R-MO) asked if Zuckerberg wanted to apologize to the families of children who were victimized by people on social media. “I’m sorry for everything you have all been through. No one should go through the things that your families have suffered,” he told some of the families who were in attendance. Under Instagram’s new Teen Accounts, teens will be shielded from any messages from people they are not “already connected to,” according to Meta. Additionally, Teen Accounts will be limited in the type of content they see on Instagram as the app’s “sensitive content control” will further limit content that shows “people fighting” or content that “promotes cosmetic procedures.” Am I Racist? Is In Theaters NOW — Get Your Tickets Here! Meta added that it will “automatically turn on the most restrictive version of our anti-bullying feature, Hidden Words, so that offensive words and phrases will be filtered out of teens’ comments and DM requests.” Teen users under 16 years old will now have to add a parent or guardian to their account if they want to change any of the built-in privacy settings. Teen Accounts will include time limit reminders, telling young users to close out of the app after 60 minutes each day, and all notifications will be muted between 10 p.m. and 7 a.m. Meta said it will enforce this new change by requiring teens to “verify their age in more places.” “Teens may lie about their age and that’s why we’re requiring them to verify their age in more places, like if they attempt to use a new account with an adult birthday. We’re also building technology to proactively find accounts belonging to teens, even if the account lists an adult birthday,” Meta said. “This technology will allow us to proactively find these teens and place them in the same protections offered by Teen Account settings. We’ll start testing this change in the US early next year.”

Matt Walsh Blasts Critics’ Refusal To Review ‘Am I Racist?’ Despite Its Box Office Success

“Am I Racist?” star Matt Walsh posted a lengthy explanation on X detailing responses, or lack thereof, from critics who were sent copies of the film, but refused to review it. The Daily Wire documentary debuted at number four at the box office alongside major Hollywood productions with much higher production and marketing budgets. “Am I Racist?” currently has a 99% audience rating on Rotten Tomatoes and is Certified Hot on the site’s popcorn meter, which means at least 500 of those reviews come from verified ticket purchasers. One of these things is not like the others pic.twitter.com/4cQVSQXTX2 — Matt Walsh (@MattWalshBlog) September 16, 2024 Am I Racist? Is In Theaters NOW — Get Your Tickets Here! Meanwhile, there is not one review from a mainstream critic. 9/ “Am I Racist?” has been so successful precisely because we didn’t churn out another safe, predictable Hollywood-style film. If you haven’t watched the movie that mainstream critics desperately don’t want you to see, you can get your tickets now: https://t.co/iJv1cNRoWV. — Matt Walsh (@MattWalshBlog) September 16, 2024 Walsh wrote in the post, “Many have asked how it’s possible that our new film ‘Am I Racist?’ hasn’t been reviewed by a single mainstream critic, even with a 99% audience score, a ‘Verified Hot’ rating on Rotten Tomatoes, and a top 5 box office debut. Here’s what’s happening behind the scenes.” “Beginning in mid-August, we reached out to dozens of mainstream outlets, offering an early screener of the film. Those outlets included [Time], [Associated Press], [IndieWire], [Variety], [The Hollywood Reporter], [The New York Times], [The New Yorker], and many others,” the post thread continued. “We followed up to virtual silence.” “We did, however, receive a flurry of unprofessional emails from independent critics who were enraged we’d even ask them to review the film. One of them wrote that he won’t waste any ‘professional time’ on a movie opening in over 1,500 theaters because I was involved,” Walsh wrote alongside a screenshot of the reply. He also shared a response from another critic who wrote, “You’d have to strap me to a chair like Malcolm McDowell to get me to watch this thing.” Another said, “Ew. Take me off of this list.” The X thread went on to say, “After it was clear ‘Am I Racist?’ was a hit, [Variety] attempted to cover for this oversight with a claim that Daily Wire ‘did not screen [the movie] for critics.’ We’ve asked them to correct this, they have not. They still haven’t posted a review, but I hope they do.” “A few other mainstream outlets have since requested screeners but have yet to publish a review,” Walsh went on. “One major mainstream outlet even acknowledged we had attempted to get them an advance screener but said the film had ‘slipped through the cracks.'” “This isn’t a mistake. You’d be hard-pressed to find another film that opened in >1,500 theaters that was completely snubbed by mainstream critics. If ‘Am I Racist?’ were terrible, these outlets could have reviewed it & trashed it. But the reality is they’re afraid of it,” he continued. “‘Am I Racist?’ has been so successful precisely because we didn’t churn out another safe, predictable Hollywood-style film. If you haven’t watched the movie that mainstream critics desperately don’t want you to see, you can get your tickets now: amiracist.com.” Walsh concluded by revealing that Rolling Stone was one of the first outlets to request a screener back in July, but noted how they hadn’t posted a review yet. The podcast host said he was looking forward to their review “most of all” because of a hit piece they posted on Walsh’s “What Is a Woman?” back in 2022, which was written without the critic ever seeing the film. Walsh shared a screenshot of the movie link sent to that writer showing it was 0% watched. Several independent reviewers did post their reactions to the movie, which were overwhelmingly positive. YouTube star Jeremy Jahns also posted a review, which resulted in many of his followers openly mocking and unfollowing him, as The Daily Wire previously reported. “Am I Racist?” is currently available in theaters.
