They’re Beauty, They’re Grace, They’re Facts About Miss Congeniality

In 2000, the world was introduced to Gracie Hart, aka Gracie Lou Freebush, an FBI agent who goes undercover at the Miss United States pageant and wants nothing more than world peace. And while Gracie, played by Sandra Bullock, gave us quirky one-liners and life advice to live by (S.I.N.G., anyone?), there are some fun behind-the-scenes facts you might not know. Did you know a six-year-old composed... Source

King Claims It Is 'Certain' Harris Will Face 'Racism and Sexism' During Campaign

Joining CNN Newsroom on Sunday evening to react to President Joe Biden’s announcement that he will be ending his re-election bid, chief national correspondent John King predicted that “you can be certain that racism and sexism” will be directed against Vice President Kamala Harris as she replaces Biden as the likely Democratic nominee. Host Wolf Blitzer led King by wondering, “And as you say, John, Republicans are recalibrating their approach as well. What can Democrats expect going forward?”     King rattled off a list of things Republicans are likely to throw at Harris, but warned that they “have always exaggerated what her job was at the border, but President Biden did put her in charge of trying to talk to the countries, Mexico and the other countries in Central America, to try to reduce the causes of migration.” After also suggesting Republicans will try to paint her as a San Francisco radical, King asserted, “You can be certain that racism and sexism, if not directly from the Trump campaign, from other forces, are going to come flying into this campaign.” This is the same CNN that had Van Jones claim less than one week prior that the Republican National Convention having four African American speakers on day one was “cringey.” King’s remarks further illustrate the two dominant media narratives coming out of Sunday’s events. One is that Biden is analogous to George Washington and the other is that Harris needs to be protected from supposed racism and sexism. Here is a transcript for the July 21 show: CNN Newsroom 7/21/2024 7:45 PM ET WOLF BLITZER: And as you say, John, Republicans are recalibrating their approach as well. What can Democrats expect going forward? JOHN KING: Democrats should brace and the vice president knows this, the Biden team, now the Harris Campaign knows this. Look, Republicans have always exaggerated what her job was at the border, but President Biden did put her in charge of trying to talk to the countries, Mexico and the other countries in Central America, to try to reduce the causes of migration. And so, the Republicans have always said she's the borders czar, that this is all her fault. So, you can brace, look, immigration was going to be a central issue for Trump and Vance anyway. You can brace now for ads saying Kamala Harris was Joe Biden’s border czar, look how it went. Do you want her running the economy? Do you want her running national security and then other issues -- other issues about San Francisco and the like. And look, let's just be honest about this. You can be certain that racism and sexism, if not directly from the Trump campaign, from other forces, are going to come flying into this campaign.

CNN: Outside ‘Reality’ for Trump Say He Wasn’t Properly Protected

How rabidly anti-Trump is CNN? During their Tuesday edition of CNN Newsroom, they proved that their kneejerk reaction to nearly everything former President Trump said was to suggest he was lying. Despite the facts showing that the Secret Service’s incompetence led to Trump being shot in the head by a would-be assassin, host Jim Acosta and law enforcement analyst Jonathan Wackrow insisted that it was “irresponsible” and “not the reality of the situation” for Trump to say he was not properly protected. Their ridiculous assertions came while they were reporting on the breaking news that Secret Service Director Kimberly Cheatle was resigning. “And there's also reaction coming in from Donald Trump. Apparently, he said on Truth Social, ‘the Biden-Harris administration did not properly protect me and I was forced to take a bullet for democracy. It was my great honor to do so,’” Acosta read. Together, the duo clutched their pearls as they decried Trump’s comments as beyond the pale: ACOSTA: I mean, obviously the Secret Service is a professional operation, you know, that the fact – to say something like ‘they did not protect me,’ it just sounds just wildly irresponsible. WACKROW: Yeah. I mean, he's just capitalizing on the moment and it's – he's looking at this through the color of politics, not the reality of the situation.     “Not the reality of the situation,” what are you talking about Wackrow? The Secret Service did nothing as they let a gunman – they were warned about and flagged as suspicious before the event – get on a roof and take a shot at the man they were supposed to be protecting. They did not protect him; and that’s a fact backed up by the fact a bullet went through Trump’s ear. “Obviously, there were security failures and there's no way to avoid you say that otherwise – that led to the attack and the assassination attempt,” Wackrow admitted, contradicting his own whining. “That needs to be resolved, that needs to be led by a new director and new oversight of the agency to ensure that there are no systemic problems that had –within the agency itself that led to this moment.” All Trump said was exactly what Acosta read, but Wackrow when on to claim it made a suggestion it did not. He suggested Trump’s posted insinuated “this was a coordinated effort by the Biden administration.” “So again, I just look at that statement as just looking at, looking at the situation through the color of politics and not the reality of the situation of the women and men that protect him,” he added. Wackrow also noted that Trump “has the utmost respect for the women and men that surround him day in and day out. I do know that I've heard that from his detail and that's widely known.” “Yeah. I mean, I suppose showing respect though would include not making statements like that,” Acosta scoffed. The transcript is below. Click "expand" to read: CNN Newsroom July 23, 2024 10:44:48 a.m. Eastern (…) JIM ACOSTA: And there's also reaction coming in from Donald Trump. Apparently, he said on Truth Social, “the Biden-Harris administration did not properly protect me and I was forced to take a bullet for democracy. It was my great honor to do so.” I mean, that that appears to be what the former President is saying perhaps he’s not aware that the director has stepped down, but that's what he's saying right now on Truth. Social. Let me go back to Jonathan Wackrow who is still with us, I believe. Jonathan when you hear the former President's saying something like that, what's your reaction? I mean, obviously the Secret Service is a professional operation, you know, that the fact – to say something like ‘they did not protect me,’ it just sounds just wildly irresponsible. JONATHAN WACKROW: Yeah. I mean, he's just capitalizing on the moment and it's – he's looking at this through the color of politics, not the reality of the situation. The reality is, is that the women and men that protect the former president, and now the Republican nominee, are career Secret Service agents. They are politically agnostic they don't align to politics or a political agenda. What they do is they operate day in and day out in a threat-based paradigm and apply the level of protection that is necessary to protect the former president. Obviously, there were security failures and there's no way to avoid you say that otherwise – that led to the attack and the assassination attempt. That needs to be resolved, that needs to be led by a new director and new oversight of the agency to ensure that there are no systemic problems that had –within the agency itself that led to this moment. But to – the sort of intimate that the – this was a coordinated effort by the Biden administration is just trying to capitalize on the moment. And I actually will give the former President credit that he has the utmost respect for the women and men that surround him day in and day out. I do know that I've heard that from his detail and that's widely known. So again, I just look at that statement as just looking at, looking at the situation through the color of politics and not the reality of the situation of the women and men that protect him. ACOSTA: Yeah. I mean, I suppose showing respect though would include not making statements like that, but Jonathan, I take your point. Jonathan, thank you.

WATCH: Kamala Harris gets ANGRY as NBC host calmly corrects her lie

President Joe Biden has dropped out of the presidential race and endorsed his vice president, Kamala Harris, to run in his place. While Harris has many weak points, one of her worst is our nation's border — where millions of illegal immigrants have crossed under the Biden administration's reign. In an interview Harris sat down for with NBC's Lester Holt, he caught her in a lie — and she made her incompetence on the issue extraordinarily clear. “There’s one other topic I wanted to talk to you about,” Holt said, preparing Harris. “Do you have any plans to visit the border?” “I’m here in Guatemala today; I, at some point, you know — we are going to the border. We’ve been to the border. So this whole thing about the border, we’ve been to the border. We’ve been to the border,” Harris shakily responded. “You haven’t been to the border,” Holt fired back without hesitation. “And I haven’t been to Europe, and I don’t understand the point that you’re making. I’m not discounting the importance of the border,” Harris continued, clearly frustrated. “I care about what’s happening at the border. I’m in Guatemala because my focus is dealing with the root causes of migration.” “There may be some who think that is not important, but it is my firm belief that if we care about what’s happening at the border, we better care about the root causes and address them, and so that’s what I’m doing,” she added. She also said “an undocumented immigrant is not a criminal” in a post on her X account in 2017. Dave Rubin of “The Rubin Report” can’t believe her logic. “Yes, they are a criminal. If you’re undocumented, you get here illegally,” he says in awe. Elon Musk reveals his relationship to Christianity — then he goes out of his way to endorse the teachings of Jesus

Elon Musk, the world's richest person, revealed this week that he identifies as a "cultural Christian."Speaking with Jordan Peterson in an interview that aired on Monday, Musk acknowledged that while he is "not a particularly religious person," he is drawn to the teachings of Jesus.'The anguish that Musk and others like him have over the pathological ideologies of this culture will not be extinguished by mere tradition ... but by surrender to the risen Christ.'"I do believe that the teachings of Jesus are good and wise and that there's tremendous wisdom in turning the other cheek," Musk said."This notion of forgiveness is important," he added. "I think it’s essential because if you don’t forgive, I forget who said it, but ‘an eye for an eye makes everyone blind.' "So I'm a big believer in the principles of Christianity," Musk explained. "I think they're very good."Musk, born in South Africa, was baptized in his youth and raised in the Anglican Church. Despite growing up in a religious environment, which included attending a Jewish preschool, Musk told Peterson he experienced a "crisis of faith" in his childhood.Still, Musk suggested that he believes religion — and faith more broadly — is good for society, arguing that societies endanger themselves when they throw away religion. The ideas Musk shared in his conversation with Peterson align with previous public statements, including his endorsement that the West is "screwed" without Christianity. But how should Christians respond to Musk's comments? It's true that Jesus of Nazareth taught that his followers must totally surrender to him and follow his teachings. It's the way to the kingdom of heaven and eternal life, he taught. There is no middle ground. However, there is a silver lining in Musk's remarks and his repeated public flirtations with the faith of his childhood, according to Southern Baptist Theological Seminary professor Andrew Walker."We should view this as an opportunity for cultural apologetics. Musk is increasingly borrowing from the moral capital of Christianity in recent public stances, and it would be right and good to connect those stances to the coherence of the Christian worldview. We should be thankful for the civilizational force that Christianity has had on our culture (so count me as a fan of 'cultural Christianity')," Walker explained. "Still, we should press for something further: Conversionary Christianity," he advised."The anguish that Musk and others like him have over the pathological ideologies of this culture will not be extinguished by mere tradition — important and valuable as that is — but by surrender to the risen Christ," Walker said.Like Blaze News?
