Leftist rage: Driven by feelings, not facts

by Pastor Jeff Crippen, America Outloud: If you vote for Donald Trump, you are a racist and white supremacist.” That was the accusation leveled by a leftist against a person who plans to vote for the previous President this fall. The accused responded with a denial and made this request: “On what basis do you make that […]

High-Ranking House Democrats Reportedly Call On Joe Biden To Withdraw From Presidential Election

According to POLITICO, several senior House Democrats privately called on Joe Biden to withdraw from the presidential election. The calls reportedly occurred during a private meeting convened by Minority Leader Hakeem Jeffries (D-NY). “Among those forcefully calling for Biden to stand down during the nearly two-hour call were Reps. Jerry Nadler (D-N.Y.), Adam Smith (D-Wash.), Mark Takano (D-Calif.) and Joe Morelle (D-N.Y.), according to two people familiar with the private session,” POLITICO stated. The report follows five additional House Democrats publicly calling on Biden to step aside. WATCH: As President Biden tries to restore his reputation following his debate performance, @ABC News has learned that four senior House Democrats have privately said he should step aside from the presidential race. @selinawangtv reports. https://t.co/WjsLR2l0yF pic.twitter.com/g2P5TfOgYK — World News Tonight (@ABCWorldNews) July 8, 2024 From POLITICO: Other members on the call voiced concerns about Biden’s path to November, including Reps. Jim Himes (Conn.), Zoe Lofgren (Calif.), Don Beyer (Va.) and Rick Larsen (Wash.). It’s a poor omen for the Biden campaign as the entire Democratic elected apparatus prepares to return to Washington on Monday evening where lawmakers will face tough questioning about their party’s standard-bearer. Aaron Fritschner, Beyer’s spokesperson, posted on X to push back on reports that Beyer called for a new nominee: “To be clear [Beyer] supports President Biden and said so on this call and any reporting to the contrary is a misunderstanding of what he said and what he believes.” The additional calls for Biden to stand aside from senior Democrats come after the president’s interview last week with ABC News did nothing to assuage concerns among rank-and-file lawmakers about his continued viability in the race. Members have repeatedly urged the president to quickly schedule more unscripted events and town halls to continually demonstrate his vitality and energy. It’s not just the House either. A group of Senate Democrats are reportedly planning a discussion of Biden’s path forward, led by Sen. Mark Warner (D-Va.), once that chamber returns to Washington on Monday. Five House Democrats have publicly urged Biden to stand down, while numerous others have expressed concerns about his viability in private. However, it appears the meeting between Senate Democrats will no longer happen. WATCH: Brown: Now breaking news, a source familiar with Senator Mark Warner's thinking tells me that the private meeting that he was trying to organize.. That's no longer happening. It’s been scrapped pic.twitter.com/uKx9bP0JkY — Acyn (@Acyn) July 7, 2024 The New York Post reports: The lack of endorsement from the top Democrats could serve as a major blow to Biden given the representatives’ positions and standing in the party. Nadler is the top Democrat on the Judiciary Committee and Morelle serves as the top Democrat on the Administration Committee. Smith is a ranking member of the Armed Services Committee, and Takano is a ranking member on the Veteran Affairs panel. Along with the four Democrats on the private call, Reps. Jim Himes (Conn.), Zoe Lofgren (Calif.), Don Beyer (Va.) and Rick Larsen (Wash.) have all voiced their fears of a potential Biden failure in the looming election. While no Democratic congressional leader has publicly called on Biden to step down yet, the mounting concerns from inside the House illustrate the party’s wavering confidence in the president.

Boeing Agrees To Plead Guilty To Criminal Fraud Conspiracy Charge Relating To Fatal 737 Max Crashes, Would Reportedly Avoid Public Trial

Boeing Agrees To Plead Guilty To Criminal Fraud Conspiracy Charge Relating To Fatal 737 Max Crashes, Would Reportedly Avoid Public Trial

Airplane manufacturer Boeing has agreed to plead guilty to one charge of conspiracy to defraud the United States regarding two fatal 737 Max crashes. The crashes, which occurred in 2018 and 2019, killed 346 people. The plea deal would force the company to pay fines up to $487 million. However, that’s only a fraction of the $24.8 billion sought by crash victims’ families. BREAKING: Boeing will plead guilty to a criminal fraud charge stemming from two deadly 737 Max crashes, Justice Department says https://t.co/9kHjvfBzsX — The Associated Press (@AP) July 8, 2024 “The parties have agreed in principle to the material terms of a plea agreement that would, among other things, hold Boeing accountable for its material misstatements to the Federal Aviation Administration, require Boeing to pay the statutory maximum fine, require Boeing to invest at least $455 million in its compliance and safety programs, impose an independent compliance monitor, and allow the Court to determine the restitution amount for the families in its discretion, consistent with applicable law,” a Justice Department court filing read. Breaking: @boeing has agreed to plead guilty per @TheJusticeDept filing pic.twitter.com/AsXw7GCdSG — David Shepardson (@davidshepardson) July 8, 2024 CNN reports: The families of victims of two fatal crashes of the 737 Max oppose the deal, the department said. The guilty plea is a severe blow to the reputation of Boeing, a company once known for the quality and safety of its commercial planes. Beyond the fatal crashes of the 737 Max jets, the company has faced a series of questions about the safety and quality of its planes. In January, a door plug on a 737 Max flown by Alaska Airlines blew out early in a flight, leaving a gaping hole in the side of the jet and further damaging Boeing’s reputation. The agreement stipulates that Boeing will have to operate under the oversight of an independent monitor, to be chosen by the government, for a period of three years. But that oversight and the fine did not satisfy the families of victims, according to one of their attorneys. “This sweetheart deal fails to recognize that because of Boeing’s conspiracy, 346 people died,” said a statement from Paul Cassell, a law professor at the University of Utah who represents many family members of the 2018 Lion Air crash and 2019 Ethiopian Air crash victims. “This deceptive and generous deal is clearly not in the public interest,” he added. The families are seeking a public trial on the charges. The Justice Department argues that the penalties Boeing agreed to were the most serious available. It argued it won other improvements as well, including the oversight of a monitor and the demand that Boeing spend more on safety and compliance of rules when building aircraft. Boeing Will Plead Guilty On Fraud Charges As Part Of Deal With DOJ On 737 Max Crasheshttps://t.co/KYDaGGCgBi pic.twitter.com/XUgQsxiJ3r — Forbes (@Forbes) July 8, 2024 “First 4 pages of DOJ filing, saying that Boeing will plead guilty to fraud. Many relatives of those who died in the 2 MAX crashes wanted DOJ to put Boeing on trial; that won’t happen,” Associated Press airline reporter David Koenig wrote. First 4 pages of DOJ filing, saying that Boeing will plead guilty to fraud. Many relatives of those who died in the 2 MAX crashes wanted DOJ to put Boeing on trial; that won't happen. pic.twitter.com/weZZHp5Vwk — David Koenig (@airlinewriter) July 8, 2024 Per Reuters: Boeing subsequently struck a deal with the Justice Department deferring any prosecution, in return for compensating victims’ families and improving its compliance. However, officials this year concluded that the firm had not complied with all terms of the deal. Boeing’s position wasn’t helped by the midair blowout on another MAX plane earlier this year, which raised new concerns about its quality control. It faces a separate criminal probe over that incident. Now the plea deal sees the firm admit to making false representations over a software system involved in the crashes. It spares the company a contentious trial – but could result in other big costs. The conviction could bar Boeing from lucrative defense and NASA contracts unless it can agree waivers.

BIDEN MUST ANSWER: Why Was a Parkinson’s Doc at the White House? | Steve Berman

A doctor from Walter Reed visiting the White House isn’t usually cause for investigation, but Col. Kevin R. Cannard (USA, Retired) is not any doctor. Dr. Cannard is an expert in treating “early phase Parkinson’s Disease.” And he didn’t just visit one time. The question this week, as a normally friendly media and wagon-circling Democrats have turned on the elderly president, is why? Emily Yoffe reported in The Free Press: Whenever Biden has been pressed about his fitness for the White House, he’s often responded with a favorite catchphrase, “Watch me.” But the public has been watching—with increasing alarm. Neurologists, who generally wish to remain anonymous, have been watching, too. One, an emeritus professor of neurology who has not treated the president, told The Free Press he believes Biden “has Parkinsonism, an umbrella term that refers to neurologic conditions that cause slowed movements, rigidity, and tremors. By observation, he has a masked face, reduced blinking, stiff and slow gait, hunched posture, low-volume voice, imbalance, freezing, mild cognitive disturbance, and difficulty turning.”  Another neurologist, who wrote to Berenson after his story was published, echoed these findings: “All the disturbing symptoms we all see are called Parkinsonism. . . . In fact in medical school we watch videos of patients with Parkinsonism like Biden to illustrate to the students how this manifests.” The White House cannot hand-wave this away. They can’t count on the benefit of the doubt here because they do not deserve it. The compliant media may try to bury the story in order to give Democrats cover to cut a deal to get Biden to step aside, but we don’t owe them the chance to do that either. No, they all must come clean with what they know. The blame game is well afoot. The media is in full gaslight mode about President Joe Biden, who was “sharp as a tack” for years and could do no wrong, they trumpeted over and over. Now they all say he somehow, in just one night, lost his ability for mentation. This is the same media that acted in collusion with elements of the U.S. government to squash stories that politically hurt Biden in 2020. It’s the same media that has pushed every possible negative story about Trump—true or not—for eight years. We are being told not to believe our eyes and ears when it comes to Joe Biden, but to believe everything they tell us about Trump.  Most individuals, when faced with that assault on their own intelligence, would assume that the folks who are feeding it to them believe them to be stupid. Some voters may genuinely be ignorant; but many are just angry and therefore act out against the machine, because they’d rather break it themselves, and at least have democracy, than have it broken for them by others who say with lying certainty that they know better. President Joe Biden wants to continue running for president, just like Nikki Haley wanted to continue her campaign to stop Trump—until she didn’t, and now she’ll vote for Trump since she’s a good Republican. In the vape-filled chambers and group chats that populate the Democratic Party, scrambling staffers and their bosses are trying to figure out ways to have bullet-proof excuses if Trump wins in November. Biden has the power to ignore everyone calling for him to drop out, but then he alone would get the blame if he loses. (Which I think he should: a man must reap his own consequences.) If there’s anything we know about Joe Biden, it’s that he never wants to take the blame. Therefore, if he can find a way to step out and everyone else gets the blame, he’ll go. But those people who would get the blame—like Vice President Kamala Harris, or Pennsylvania Gov. Josh Shapiro, or Pete Buttigieg, or whoever the Democrats would install as their nominee—don’t want the blame either. So Biden will go on claiming he’s in this for the whole enchilada, until he isn’t. Then the die will be cast and the blame game will become a matter of how things turn out in November. But there’s a bigger question now. Does the president have a debilitating disease that leaves many neurologists wondering how he could exhibit classic symptoms yet is just having a “bad night,” as Biden told ABC News’ George Stephanopoulos? Seems sketchy to me. The White House (I’d say I wanted Biden himself to do it, but I think we all know why he can’t) should answer these questions. If the president was examined by a Parkinson’s doc, then the people deserve to know what he found. I understand about health privacy and HIPAA and all that, but this isn’t your granddad, it’s the President of the United States. If he’s been diagnosed with Parkinson’s maybe it’s time for the 25th Amendment. We should demand answers. Follow Steve on Twitter @stevengberman.
