Big Tom Cat Comes to a House for Food One Day‚ Changing the Course of His Life

A big tom cat came to a house for food one day‚ and it changed the course of his life. RickyHelen PophamAt feeding time‚ Helen Popham‚ who cares for local community cats‚ came out with food for a few ferals who had chosen her yard as their haven. Among them‚ there was a new guy‚ a big tom cat named Ricky.Ricky the tabby resembled a cross between a raccoon and a bobcat‚ with his giant cheeks as his prominent feature. He arrived as a surprise when Helen spotted him through her camera. He was very nervous around people and covered in battle wounds. After contacting her local Cats Protection‚ Helen learned that Ricky had roamed the neighborhood for a few years‚ scrounging for food and shelter. Helen Popham"As soon as we found out he was a stray and was getting so many injuries‚ we made it our mission to start taming him‚" Helen told Love Meow.As his visits became more frequent‚ Ricky‚ who had an insatiable appetite‚ grew more comfortable around his food provider. He snagged a morsel from Helen's hand with such force‚ like he was in a battle. He devoured all his food and licked his bowl clean. He was very hissy and nervous at firstHelen PophamHelen tried to approach him for a gentle stroke but was vehemently denied with a warning hiss from the big man."One day‚ he came to us‚ and we noticed he had a very bad abscess from being bitten. We knew he needed vet treatment ASAP. Because he was feeling weaker‚ we were able to capture him." He had many battle woundsHelen PophamThey set up a quiet‚ comfy space in the garage for Ricky to recover. "We weren't sure how he was going to respond. To our surprise‚ he adjusted very quickly‚ and every day‚ he started improving."It was this new sense of comfort and security that began whittling away his walls. Ricky was a softie underneath his big‚ puffy exterior. Ricky began improving and warming up to his peopleHelen PophamWith proper treatment‚ his wounds healed‚ his energy levels increased‚ and his appetite soared. He warmed up to Helen and gave the green light for head scratches‚ though he was still hissy at times.Realizing the kitchen was the portal to his food‚ Ricky mustered the courage to step inside the house. He started to explore the houseHelen PophamAfter each excursion‚ he rushed back into the garage and lay comfortably on his hay bale bed‚ charging up another day's worth of courage for more indoor expeditions. His confidence grew with each passing day. He began to seek head scratches and melted whenever he was combed. His stay inside the house lengthened until he no longer wanted to leave. Helen Popham"We were looking after him outside for about four months‚ and then after we got him inside‚ his trust grew even more. Within a couple of weeks‚ he was regularly after pats and got more and more affectionate."Ricky was no longer a stray as he officially became a permanent part of the family. Helen Popham"We got him neutered and microchipped‚ and all went well. The vet was amazed at how he has been so happy to stay indoors with us‚ considering how wild he was."Ricky was immediately drawn to catnip toys‚ grabbed one with his paws‚ and rubbed it against his face until he passed out in bliss. Ricky's first Christmas with the familyHelen PophamHe had his first Christmas with his family and was dressed to impress.Ricky finally decided to check out Helen's room recently and discovered the bed. "Now‚ he's found it. It's his new favorite place to nap." His new favorite napping place - his mom's bedHelen PophamHe loves trailing his people around the house‚ supervising them‚ and napping by their side. He enjoys belly rubs and makes the sweetest biscuits‚ knowing he's loved. Helen PophamShare this story with your friends. Former DoJ Spox: Biden Missed His Sister Souljah Moment On Immigration

Former DoJ Spox: Biden Missed His Sister Souljah Moment On Immigration

The media’s sugar rush over President Joe Biden’s performance at the State of the Union has largely worn off. Like the president’s cognitive cocktail. What remains is the media’s angst over the president’s use of the term “illegal” to describe the illegal alien that killed UGA nursing student Laken Riley.  The left tut-tutted the president into submission over the term. As our very own Tim Graham noted: Obviously‚ leftists -- including leftist journalists -- were furious over this gaffe. "No person is illegal!" Even murderers deserve ethnically sensitive descriptions! Biden quickly expressed his regrets‚ he should have said "undocumented person." MSNBC doesn't press Biden for letting criminals in. They press him for using the wrong word for the criminal. Biden‚ of course‚ taps out to the language police and backtracks on his use of the term. Now watch as former Department of Justice spokesperson Sarah Isgur points out what a botch that was for Biden‚ as aired on ABC This Week on Sunday‚ March 10th‚ 2024: GEORGE STEPHANOPOULOS: Rachel‚ you were inside the chamber. What an atmosphere.  RACHEL SCOTT: The level of decorum and the lack thereof‚ rather‚ and it was interesting to see President Biden. Look‚ he knew this from the last time he gave this address that Republicans booed him. But going toe to toe‚ head to head with Congresswoman Marjorie Taylor Greene as if this was some sort of‚ like‚ high school debate open forum‚ repeating back the words she was saying to him. Challenging him on that‚ and that's where he sort of caught himself in this bind when it came to using the term “illegal”‚ which obviously drew a lot of backlash from Democrats and now the president has- has backtracked on that. STEPHANOPOULOS: I'm not so sure that was as much of a mistake even though he took it back‚ as people made it out to be.  SARAH ISGUR: What a missed Sister Souljah moment for President Biden. He has this back and forth‚ he gets the better of it‚ but then once again sort of caves to that sort of far left campaign staff level base within the Democratic Party where you're worried more about what you called the murderer than you are about the woman who was murdered. And again‚ when you are trying to reach those voters who are going to decide this election‚ not the Democratic base‚ but the people who don't like two of their choices here and are looking for some way forward- total missed opportunity. “What an atmosphere”‚ gushed host George Stephanopoulos over the State of the Union‚ fresh off of attempting to rape-shame Rep. Nancy Mace (R-SC) over her political choices- namely‚ her endorsement of Donald Trump. And after correspondent Rachel Scott weighs in and polishes a bushel of Biden’s apples‚ as per the custom at ABC News‚ Isgur comes in and points out the obvious. Biden did‚ in fact‚ miss out on an opportunity to call out the most open-borders elements of his party‚ and use the opportunity provided him by Rep. Marjorie Taylor-Greene’s callout in order to do something on immigration more serious than call yet again for passage of the dead Senate bill…perhaps even call for passage of the House-passed H.R. 2. Note Stephanopoulos saying “I’m not so sure that was much of a mistake…” But Biden proved that he is captive to the Very Online left‚ both in campaigns and in the media- and beholden to the Professional Latinx which are a large part of his electoral coalition. At a time when Biden’s coalition is cracking‚ he can’t afford to lose much more support. So he backtracked.  The rest of the liberals on the panel had nothing for Isgur. And so it is that President Joe Biden‚ on the urging of his Very Online coalition‚ which includes the media‚ apologized for mislabeling an illegal alien murderer while never apologizing for his administration’s role in enabling the murder in the first place.

A 16-year-old boy in Alaska was charged as an adult in the shooting deaths of two people in the village of Point Hope. He was arraigned on Friday and faces 16 felony charges‚ according to the Associated Press.Daniel Dalle-Molle‚ who is the public defender for Guy Nashookpuk‚ entered not guilty pleas to the charges leveled by a grand jury. Nashookpuk appeared telephonically from jail for the proceeding that took place at the courthouse in Kotzebue. The teenager faces two counts each of first- and second-degree murder‚ four counts of attempted murder‚ seven counts of assault‚ and a single count of burglary in the February 25 shooting that left two people dead and two others injured.ABC News reported that the names of the victims have not been released‚ and the North Slope Borough spokesperson did not reveal why this was the case. The authorities said they discovered two people dead and two others injured after responding to a call about a shooting at a Point Hope home‚ per the report. One witness told the authorities that the teen allegedly entered the home with a handgun and began shooting‚ but the details surrounding the altercation are not yet known. After the teen allegedly shot the victims‚ he fled on a four-wheeler.Just ten minutes after the incident‚ the teen's father took him to the police station after he said his son admitted to shooting four people‚ according to court documents. Police also noted that the teen admitted to shooting the victims while his parents were present. No motive has yet been established in the case. It is also unknown if the teen knew the victims. The AP reported that Point Hope has a population of 675 people and sits on a "triangular spit of land that juts into the Chukchi Sea." The community is known as Tikigaq in Inupiaq‚ and it is nested in a treeless grid around the Tikigaq School‚ also known as the "Home of the Harpooners." Like Blaze News? Boy‚ 11‚ dies from cardiac arrest after attempting 'chroming' TikTok challenge‚ family says

An 11-year-old boy in the United Kingdom died from cardiac arrest after attempting the "chroming" TikTok challenge‚ according to the child's family. Tommie-Lee Gracie Billington went into cardiac arrest and was found unresponsive at a friend's home in Lancaster around 12 p.m. on March 2‚ according to the Times of London. The boy was later pronounced dead at a local hospital. The boy's grandmother‚ Tina Burns‚ explained‚ "He died instantly after a sleepover at a friend’s house. The boys had tried the TikTok craze 'chroming.' Tommie-Lee went into cardiac arrest immediately and died right there and then. The hospital did everything to try and bring him back‚ but nothing worked. He was gone."The distraught grandmother added‚ "He had a heart of gold just like his dad. Our family is utterly devastated."The University of Pittsburgh Medical Center defines chroming as: "The inhalation of aerosol paint and other chemical products in an attempt to get high.""Hydrocarbons are present in many different household products‚ including aerosol paint‚ paint thinner‚ motor fuel‚ and glue‚" the hospital warns. "Inhaling them can create a high‚ which causes many people to use them as a drug of abuse. People may inhale the chemicals in different ways — breathing in the fumes directly or using something like a bag or rag."Chroming is sometimes known as "huffing." The Royal Children's Hospital in Melbourne‚ Australia‚ cautions that chroming can cause hallucinations‚ impulsive behavior‚ depression‚ slurred speech‚ lack of coordination‚ headaches‚ dizziness‚ brain dysfunction‚ seizures‚ palpitations‚ shortness of breath‚ and even sudden death.Forbes reported‚ "684‚000. That’s how many adolescents between the ages of 12 and 17 huffed or inhaled toxic chemicals in 2015‚ according to a 2017 report from the Substance Abuse and Mental Health Services Administration. A total of 1.8 million people 12 years and older performed the practice that same year‚ though inhalant use typically decreases with age."Following the tragedy‚ the grieving grandmother said social media companies need to "do more‚" and added‚ "We don’t want any other children to follow TikTok or be on social media."Like Blaze News?
