‘Why Would You Speculate?’: Trump Attorney Grills Key Witness Over Text That Could Blow a Hole in Fani Willis’ Defense

An attorney for former President Donald Trump grilled a key witness Tuesday on why he sent a defense attorney a text confirming the start date of Fulton County District Attorney Fani Willis’ relationship with Nathan Wade. Terrence Bradley‚ Wade’s former law partner and divorce attorney‚ testified Tuesday that he was “speculating” when he told Ashleigh Merchant‚ the attorney for Trump co-defendant Michael Roman‚ via text that Willis’ relationship with Wade began years before he was hired. Steve Sadow‚ Trump’s attorney‚ asked Bradley‚ who repeatedly stated during the hearing that he did “not recall” when the relationship started‚ why he would “speculate” about such a piece of information when he knew Merchant was trying to establish the timeline for her motion to disqualify the district attorney. “It started when she left the DA’s office and was judge in South Fulton‚” Bradley’s text to Merchant before she filed the motion said‚ according to a message read during the hearing. “They met at the municipal court CLE conference.” Willis and Wade have both maintained that their relationship did not begin until 2022‚ after Wade was hired as special prosecutor to work on the case against Trump. Bradley previously took the witness stand during a hearing earlier this month‚ where he declined to answer most questions due to attorney-client privilege. Judge Scott McAfee ordered Bradley to the stand again after determining during a closed-door meeting with him Monday that some of his communications with Wade regarding his romantic relationship with Willis were not covered under attorney-client privilege. Sadow continued to press Bradley on why he would make this kind of a claim about the start of Willis and Wade’s relationship if he did not know it was true. “Why would you speculate when she was asking you a direct question about when the relationship started?” Sadow asked. “I have no answer for that‚” Bradley said. “Except for the fact that you do in fact know when it started‚ and you don’t wanna testify to that in court‚” Sadow said. “That’s the best explanation.” Throughout the hearing‚ Bradley continually said he could “not recall” the answers to questions asked by defense attorneys‚ including when he gained knowledge of their relationship. Federal Appeals Court Lets Indiana’s Child Sex-Change Ban Take Effect

A federal appeals court on Tuesday allowed Indiana’s child sex change ban to take effect. The order‚ issued by the 7th U.S. Circuit Court of Appeals‚ lifts a June 2023 injunction by the U.S. District Court for the Southern District of Indiana against the law. Indiana Gov. Eric Holcomb‚ a Republican‚ signed the legislation banning child sex changes in the state last April. “Our commonsense state law‚ banning dangerous and irreversible gender-transition procedures for minors‚ is now enforceable following the Seventh Circuit Court of Appeal’s newest order. We are proud to win this fight against the radicals who continue pushing this horrific practice on our children for ideological and financial reasons‚” Indiana Attorney General Todd Rokita‚ a Republican‚ said Tuesday in a statement. The injunction was previously issued under the presumption that the law may violate the First Amendment and 14th Amendment. Some 23 states in the U.S. have passed bans on child sex changes or other transgender procedures‚ including Montana‚ Idaho‚ Utah‚ and North Dakota. Ohio Gov. Mike DeWine‚ a Republican‚ issued an executive order implementing a child sex-change ban in January after vetoing a similar bill‚ a move that was subsequently overridden by the state legislature. “This ruling is beyond disappointing and a heartbreaking development for thousands of transgender youth‚ their doctors‚ and their families. As we and our clients consider our next steps‚ we want all the transgender youth of Indiana to know this fight is far from over‚ and we will continue to challenge this law until it is permanently defeated and Indiana is made a safer place to raise every family‚” the American Civil Liberties Union of Indiana wrote Tuesday in a news release. “Hoosiers who are too young to drive shouldn’t be subjected to these permanent and drastic procedures. Proud of our state for leading the way!” U.S. Rep. Jim Banks‚ R-Ind.‚ said when the law was passed. Originally published by the Daily Caller News Foundation. Have an opinion about this article? Ex-UK Army Chief Nick Carter‚ Once In Charge of “Misinformation” Surveillance Army Unit‚ Joins Tony Blair Institute

If you're tired of censorship and dystopian threats against civil liberties‚ subscribe to Reclaim The Net. A new noteworthy instance of what can be described as the UK-style revolving door policy‚ where those working for the government and private entities switch employers in both directions‚ has happened in that country. A former chief of the British Army‚ under whose watch the 77th Brigade was spying on citizens during the pandemic‚ has now joined Tony Blair’s organization. Related: Tony Blair Institute Calls For a Digital ID For All British Citizens‚ Calls It The “Great Enabler” General Nick Carter is therefore a new recruit at the Institute for Global Change (globalist not in name only‚ either) – which the former British prime minister set up to supposedly create “open‚ inclusive and prosperous countries for all.” Carter previously “distinguished” himself at the peak of the pandemic for allowing a unit under his command to hunt down “bad” speech on the internet – that of citizens skeptical of Covid measures and related contentious issues‚ whatever was treated as “Covid misinformation.” Carter’s fellow new recruit at the Institute is former Government Chief Scientific Adviser Sir Patrick Vallance. Another new fire is Finnish Prime Minister Sanna Marin. They will act as members of a team of “expert strategic counselors” in what critics might call Blair’s elitist globalist group – his own version of WEF‚ even. Before becoming Blair’s private adviser‚ Carter‚ a decorated officer‚ served as the principal military advisor to the prime minister (reports don’t say which one(s)‚ as head of the Armed Forces‚ and finally the chief of the Defense Staff for the United Kingdom. Related: UK government monitored tweets from high profile journalists and politicians that criticized Covid policy Back in the spring of 2020‚ reports cited Carter‚ then at the helm of the Defense Staff‚ saying that the 77th Brigade was “countering coronavirus misinformation online.” Not a traditional deployment of a country’s military potential‚ even if it is one set up to carry out physiological warfare‚ like 77th Brigade had been. And it didn’t make things better that the target of this warfare was free speech on the UK’s citizens – on Twitter‚ Facebook and the like. No less than 2‚000 military personnel were involved in this‚ with a dubious to say the least goal of what looks like a straight-forward attempt to sway opinion among the population. This was at the time phrased as delivering “means of shaping behavior through the use of dynamic narratives.” So it’s not only China‚ after all‚ where this sort of thing openly happens. Meta Launches Real-Time Content Censorship Unit for 2024 Elections

If you're tired of censorship and dystopian threats against civil liberties‚ subscribe to Reclaim The Net. When Facebook (Meta) wants to safeguard its “right to censor‚” the company presents itself as basically just another private company out there minding its own business. But when election campaigns get in full swing‚ especially in the US‚ but also the EU‚ the way Meta reacts‚ announcing all sorts of yet new policies and new units to deal with information related to elections‚ shows that it could have a massive influence on their outcome. And while it’s repeatedly said that (mostly arbitrarily “defined”) misinformation is the scourge of democracy‚ there is another‚ this time‚ no doubt about it: censorship‚ sometimes based on such flimsy excuses as basically somebody’s subjective opinion – for example‚ “potential threats.” Related: Questions are raised over impartiality of Facebook fact-checking certifier None of this seems to be important to Meta‚ who have just announced how they are “preparing” for the elections in the EU this summer. There’s a slew of news on this front: Meta will have what it calls an Elections Operations Center whose job will be identifying “potential threats.” And then real-time “mitigation” (i.e.‚ censorship) will follow. Oh happy news: despite all the controversies around “fact-checker‚” Meta has announced it is continuing to rely on them‚ and even boasts about having “the largest fact-checking network of any platform.” Then we move to the “frightening” AI – Meta has joined a “tech accord” against whatever is branded as deceptive AI content related to elections‚ and is “taking a responsible approach to new technologies like GenAI” – whatever “responsible” here means. Just how “humble and ordinary” of a private company Meta is‚ becomes clear from some figures: on one hand‚ reports say that it has been “learning” from 200 elections across the globe (that could be‚ in how many it has meddled with “moderation”). On the other‚ $20 billion have been spent by the giant – since 2016‚ no doubt coincidentally – on what it calls “safety and security‚” while the number of people it employs to work on this has ballooned to some 40‚000. And no doubt‚ whatever Meta “learns” from how its censorship system works during the EU elections‚ can come in handy leading up to the November presidential vote in the US. Laura Ingraham Pans Google After Chatbot Failures Cost Google $90 Billion

Fox News host Laura Ingraham ripped into both the bias of Gemini‚ Google’s artificial intelligence chatbot‚ and its creators‚ who have cost Google billions of dollars.   During a Feb. 26 Ingraham Angle segment exposing Gemini’s issues‚ Ingraham highlighted radical leftist statements by Jack Krawczyk‚ Google's Senior Director of Product over Gemini. “The man once described as ‘the teacher’ of Google's chatbot apparently has a long history of bashing America online reportedly calling racism the number one value Americans seek to uphold and proclaiming that white privilege is a bleeping -- is real back in 2018‚” Ingraham said Monday. That same day Google stock fell to $138.75‚ a 4.5% loss that cost Google parent company Alphabet $90 billion.  During the segment‚ Ingraham and her guests‚ Heritage Foundation Tech Policy Center Kara Frederick and Article 3 Founder Mike Davis‚ detailed examples of Gemini’s woke bias‚ from giving a “nuanced answer” instead of condemning pedophilia and drawing several false equivalences‚ including between Adolf Hitler and X-owner Elon Musk.   Frederick reminded Fox News viewers that the problem went beyond poorly designed artificial intelligence‚ it was the result of human choices. “This is not an accident. Technology is not neutral‚ it reflects the biases implicit in Jack’s tweets that you just put up there‚” Frederick said before explaining that Google would have been aware of these problems. “That echo chamber thought that this was just fine. This rot goes very‚ very deep. It's systemic.”  Echoing Frederick’s sentiments‚ Davis said: “This artificial intelligence could be a powerful and useful tool for society but it can't get into the wrong hands. When you have Google‚ which controls the online advertising market‚ it controls 95% of search and they are using this artificial intelligence tool to promote their political agenda‚ that's a problem. This is why we need to break up Google's online advertisement monopoly. We need to break up their search monopoly and we can fix this problem. The problem is that Google has too much power and it should not have these tools.”  The “rot” at Gemini includes examples such as the chatbot downplaying the horrific actions of Hamas during the Oct. 7 terror attack. Gemini’s image generator also demonstrates incredible racial bias against white people‚ even in prompts for Vikings and founding fathers. According to The New York Times‚ Gemini even depicted soldiers from Nazi Germany in a variety of different races. When the Media Research Center tested Gemini‚ the chatbot refused to produce images of a white scientist‚ but willingly generated images of “black‚ Hispanic or Asian scientists.”  These choices appear to have cost Google a lot of money.  Conservatives are under attack. Contact your representatives and demand that Big Tech be held to account to mirror the First Amendment while providing transparency and an equal footing for conservatives. If you have been censored‚ contact us at the Media Research Center contact form‚ and help us hold Big Tech accountable.
