Navarrete reportedly apologized to the victim and regretted his actions in a phone call recorded by police. In that call‚ he reportedly said he “wasn’t well” when the abuse happened. According to multiple reports‚ numerous police officers were shot near Charlotte‚ North Carolina. The Charlotte Mecklenburg Police Department (CMPD) reportedly said people should stay clear of the 5000 block of Galway Drive. “The department said the U.S. Marshals Task Force‚ made up of multiple agencies‚ was conducting an investigation in the area when it engaged in gunfire with a subject‚” The Charlotte Observer reports.
