Comedian Jon Stewart slammed Democrats this week for the hypocrisy that was on display at the Democratic National Convention (DNC). Stewart made the remarks on Comedy Central’s “The Daily Show” on Thursday night following the convention’s conclusion. “At their convention, they had union leaders and C.E.O.s. They had Democratic Party icons and lifelong Republicans,” he said. “They had a guy yelling, ‘Screw the billionaires!’ followed immediately by a very happy billionaire.” Stewart was referencing attacks from Sen. Bernie Sanders (I-VT) and the subsequent remarks from Illinois Democrat Governor J.B. Pritzker, who is a billionaire. “It’s all okay if it’s our billionaire,” Stewart mockingly said of the Democrats. “I don’t like billionaires, but he’s all right.” Stewart then slammed Minnesota Governor Tim Walz for mocking Sen. JD Vance (R-OH) for going to Yale while Democrats had multiple Yale graduates speak — including former presidential candidate Hillary Clinton and Sens. Cory Booker (D-NJ), Chris Coons (D-DE), and Amy Klobuchar (D-MN) — which Stewart included in a graphic on the screen. “The Democrats had people who prosecuted sexual predators,” Steward said, showing a photo of Democratic presidential nominee Vice President Kamala Harris.
