Bill Mitchell’s Clown Show: From Trashing MAGA to Loving Them

Bill Mitchell called Donald Trump horrific names during the primary as he supported Ron DeSantis. Mitchell also trashed all MAGA Trump supporters. Making America Great wasn’t for him five minutes ago. He blocked me on X for simply asking him why he has to bash Trump to support DeSantis. Now he’s trying to worm his […] The post Bill Mitchell’s Clown Show: From Trashing MAGA to Loving Them appeared first on www.independentsentinel.com.

Nearly 45% Of Trans-Identifying People Had ‘Serious Psychological Distress’ In Last Month‚ Survey Finds

Close to half of the trans-identifying people polled in a recently released U.S. survey reported having “serious psychological distress” in the previous month. About 44% of those surveyed said they had experienced serious psychological distress in the last 30 days‚ according to the U.S. Transgender Survey from the National Center for Transgender Equality‚ which was conducted in 2022 from October 19 through December 5. Nearly a third had also been homeless at some point‚ a preliminary analysis of the survey’s findings released Wednesday revealed. The survey‚ which says it is the largest of trans-identifying people in the country to date‚ polled 92‚329 people who identify as transgender or non-binary‚ including more than 7‚000 teens who were 16 and 17‚ although most of the questions did not include the minors. For several reasons‚ the survey cannot be taken to be representative of the U.S. trans-identifying population as a whole. One issue is that it did not poll a random sample‚ and another is that it skews young — 43% of the adults polled were age 24 or younger. The study included significantly more biological women than men — 55% were women and 43% were men. Another 2% identified as crossdressers. About 35% were biological men who identified as women‚ and 25% were biological women who identified as men. Other than the tiny percentage of crossdressers‚ the rest identified as non-binary‚ making that the biggest group at 38%. The large number of non-binary identities was driven by women. Only 8% were men who identified as non-binary‚ while 30% were women who identified as such. The study reported that the vast majority of people‚ 94%‚ who lived at least some of their time as their new gender identity‚ said they were more satisfied with life. Meanwhile‚ 98% of people who were currently receiving hormone treatments and 97% of people who had received gender surgery said the medical interventions made them more satisfied with life. However‚ critics quickly questioned these conclusions‚ noting that detransitioners‚ people who identified as transgender but no longer do‚ were not included. The level of complete statistical iliteracy on the part of people who claim to be watchdogs continues to grate on me. This survey examined those who *currently identify as trans* and who sought to participate in a study about that! Detransitioners were definitionally excluded. https://t.co/F1RDAJvlAX — Jesse Singal (@jessesingal) February 7‚ 2024 “This survey examined those who *currently identify as trans* and who sought to participate in a study about that! Detransitioners were definitionally excluded‚” journalist Jesse Singal posted on X. CLICK HERE TO GET THE DAILYWIRE+ APP Studies have shown that it can take several years for people to regret their gender transitions. One 2022 study found that 30% of more than 950 teens had stopped taking cross-sex hormones after four years. Among the survey’s teen respondents‚ 44% reported that their families were supportive of their new gender identities. Among the adult respondents‚ nearly a third said they had been homeless at one point‚ more than a third said they were in poverty‚ and the unemployment rate among respondents was 18%. The full report on the survey’s 600 questions is expected later this year.

Supreme Court Hears Arguments On Whether Trump Can Remain On Colorado Ballot

The Supreme Court heard arguments on Thursday on whether Colorado could remove former President Donald Trump from the ballot. Late last year‚ the Colorado Supreme Court ruled that Trump‚ the presumptive Republican nominee for president in 2024‚ should be kicked off the ballot after six voters represented by lawyers from a leftist legal group argued that he was ineligible based on the “insurrection clause” of the 14th Amendment.  During arguments on Thursday‚ justices seemed skeptical of the argument in favor of throwing Trump off the ballot.  “I think that the question that you have to confront is why a single state should decide who gets to be president of the United States‚” liberal Justice Elena Kagan said‚ according to NBC News. “It seems quite extraordinary doesn’t it?” Justice Samuel Alito said that it would create an “unmanageable situation” if states were able to remove presidential candidates from the ballot.  Trump’s lawyers argued that the characterization of the former president’s actions on January 6 was incorrect.  “For an insurrection‚ there needs to be an organized‚ concerted effort to overthrow the government of the United States through violence‚” Jonathan Mitchell said. “We didn’t concede that it’s an effort to overthrow the government either. None of these criteria were met. This was a riot. It was not an insurrection. The events were shameful‚ criminal‚ violent‚ all of those things but did not qualify as an insurrection as that term is used in Section 3.” During a speech after arguments wrapped up‚ Trump said that the effort was “election interference” by the Democrats and was optimistic that the court would rule in his favor.  “Watching the Supreme Court today‚ it’s a very beautiful process‚” Trump said. “I hope that democracy in this country will continue‚ because right now we have a very‚ very tough situation with all the radical Left ideas‚ with the weaponization of politics‚ they weaponize it like it’s never been weaponized before. It’s totally illegal‚ but they do it anyway. It has to stop.”  CLICK HERE TO GET THE DAILYWIRE+ APP Trump went on to discuss the border crisis‚ slamming President Joe Biden for the millions of illegal immigrants who have crossed into the United States under his watch. Recent polling shows Trump pulling ahead of Biden in key swing states and even leading nationally in some surveys.  Before the arguments began‚ Sens. Marsha Blackburn (R-TN)‚ Roger Marshall (R-KS)‚ and Tommy Tuberville (R-AL) held a press conference in front of the court decrying the possibility that Trump could be removed from the ballot.  “We want to fight for the right of ‘We the People’ to elect our next president‚ not a bunch of judges. And I just want to make it perfectly clear again why this is so important to people back home. They feel like this is yet another attack by Joe Biden‚ on their constitutional rights‚” Marshall said.

Felicity Huffman Describes Life After College Admissions Scandal: ‘Sort Of Like Your Old Life Died’

Actress Felicity Huffman discussed how life has been since returning to work after spending time in jail for participating in a college admissions scheme to get her daughter into a more prestigious school. “I walk into the room with it. I did it. It’s black and white‚” the 61-year-old said during a recently published interview with The Guardian. “How I am is kind of a loaded question. As long as my kids are well and my husband is well‚ I feel like I’m well.”  “I’m grateful to be here‚” she added. “But how am I? I guess I’m still processing.” Huffman has gotten back to work after pleading guilty to charges of mail fraud after bribing a college prep expert $15‚000 to change her daughter’s SAT scores. The “Desperate Housewives” alum was fined $30‚000 and ordered to complete 250 hours of community service after serving 11 days of a 14-day jail sentence. “I did a pilot for ABC recently that didn’t get picked up. It’s been hard‚” she continued. “Sort of like your old life died and you died with it.”  Next up‚ the Academy Award-nominated actress is appearing in “Hir‚” a comedy about a transgender person and how the family reacts to the change. In December‚ Huffman spoke about how and why she became involved in the college admissions scandal. “People assume that I went into this looking for a way to cheat the system and making proverbial criminal deals in back alleys‚ but that was not the case‚” Huffman said during an interview with ABC-7 Eyewitness News.  CLICK HERE TO GET THE DAILYWIRE+ APP “I worked with a highly recommended college counselor named Rick Singer. I worked with him for a year and trusted him implicitly. And he recommended programs and tutors and he was the expert. And after a year‚ he started to say‚ ‘Your daughter is not going to get into any of the colleges that she wants to.’ And so‚ I believed him‚” she said. “When he slowly started to present the criminal scheme‚ it seemed like — and I know this seems crazy at the time — that that was my only option to give my daughter a future‚” Huffman told the outlet. “I know hindsight is 20/20 but it felt like I would be a bad mother if I didn’t do it. So‚ I did it.” “It felt like I had to give my daughter a chance at a future‚” she added. “And so it was sort of like my daughter’s future‚ which meant I had to break the law.”
