Geezer Butler says he and Ozzy are on good terms again

During the last year, Geezer Butler revealed that his wife Gloria and Ozzy's wife/manager Sharon Osbourne were not speaking to each other and that made both Sabbath colleagues to not talk to each other regularly anymore. In an interview with Rolling Stone, Ozzy even said that he was upset that Butler didn't sent him a message, after some health scares, to ask him how he was feeeling. But now in an interview with Eddie Trunk (Transcribed by Blabbermouth), Butler revealed that he did sent a lot of messages to Ozzy but they were not being delivered to the singer. So now he explained that the miscommunication issue was resolved and they are on good terms again. The bassist also said that like Tony Iommi and Ozzy, he would totally be part of a final Black Sabbath show featuring the original drummer Bill Ward, since the musician wasn't part of their farewell tour. Geezer Butler says he and Ozzy are on good terms again "Of course there's an interest (of doing a final Sabbath show, on my part). But there's a big 'but'. You'd have to speak to Bill about it. Everybody wants to do it. (But I don't know if he is) capable (doing it)." He was then asked if he believed Bill would be able to play the drums in the studio or during a show. Geezer said: "I don't think so. Maybe, I don't know. I mean, the way technical things happen these days, maybe a couple of songs. But who knows? There wouldn't be any traveling involved. We wouldn't be actually all in the studio at the same time together. So it could be done that way — maybe". "Ozzy was hoping to finish it all off next year back in Aston, at the Aston Villa (Football stadium in Aston, Birmingham). I'm definitely up for it, to finish the whole thing off. Me and Ozzy have agreed, but I'm not sure about anybody else." About talking to Ozzy and being on good terms again, Geezer said: "Every day practically (I talk to him). There was a lot of miscommunication. He didn't think I was asking about his health 'cause I know he's been going through a lot of health problems. I was sending all these messages to him and they weren't being passed on to him. So he thought I was just ignoring him." "And then the weird way I had to go through Sabbath's accountant to tell Ozzy I'd sent him all these things. 'Cause he did this thing in Rolling Stone saying that I hadn't been in touch with him about his health. So I went through the accountant. (Then) he got in touch with Ozzy and said, 'He's just been sending you stuff. He wants to talk to you.' And we've been fine since that," Geezer Butler said. During the same interview the bassist and songwriter said that Bill Ward doesn't use email. Butler doesn't like to talk on the phone, so he usually send the e-mails to Ward's wife, who then passes on to him. He also said that still plays the bass everyday. Because instead of going to gym, for example, he goes to his studio and plays. https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=p1K4ZNiPG1U&pp=ygUZYmxhY2sgc2FiYmF0aCByZXVuaW9uIDE5OQ%3D%3DThe post Geezer Butler says he and Ozzy are on good terms again appeared first on Rock And Roll Garage.

James Hetfield talks about nightmares and insecurity before touring

The legendary Metallica co-founder, guitarist, singer and main songwriter James Hetfield talked in an interview for the Metallica Report about the insecurity and the nightmares he usually has before the band start a tour. For decades the musician talked about how he deals with anxiety and insecurity. During this conversation he shared details of the nightmares he usually has before the band hits the road and he explained how he learned to deal with them. James Hetfield talks about nightmares and insecurity before touring "(Transcribed by Ultimate Guitar) Over the last month, I will say that the normal thing happens, where I start to doubt myself. I start to feel insecure. (Thinking) 'Well, we're old, we can't do this, blah, blah, blah,' — all that bullshit everyone tells themselves before they go into something they care about." "So, having the nightmares (about how) I'm the only one who cares about what we're doing here. 'Where is everybody?' I show up at the gig, everyone's goofing off, or there's 200 people backstage and (thinking), 'Where's my stuff? Where's the setlist? What songs are we doing?' And then, typical things like the guitar neck is made of rubber, and there's only two strings on it." "And, 'Where's my roadie?', and the guitar cord won't let me get to the microphone. Silly stuff like that. That has to happen, and I don't freak out over it. All you do is you practice, and then you build that comes back pretty quickly. It's part of the cycle; it just is. You have anxiety build up, and don't let it get the best of ya because you have that balance of anxiety and faith. And as soon as you get up there, it's all gonna be good," James Hetfield said. Metallica has an extensive touring schedule in 2024 to promote their latest album "72 Seasons" released in 2023. They will perform in Europe and North America. https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=fmpKRI7rKSYThe post James Hetfield talks about nightmares and insecurity before touring appeared first on Rock And Roll Garage.

The song that Joe Perry said still gives him goosebumps

The song that Joe Perry said still gives him goosebumps

The legendary Aerosmith co-founder and guitarist Joe Perry started his career six decades ago, in 1965, when he was still a teenager. Since then he had the chance to see the evolution of Rock and Roll music up-close and obviously see a huge number of incredible artists playing over the years. Although he had many incredible musical experiences and heard a lot of music, there are a few songs that still makes him get emotional. He even revealed once, which is the song that still gives him goosebumps. The song that the Aerosmith guitarist Joe Perry said still gives him goosebumps Perry was heavily influenced by the music made in the United Kingdom in the 60s and early 70s and some of his biggest heroes appeared there during that era. Two of them are John Mayall and Eric Clapton, who worked together and released in 1966 the album "Blues Breakers with Eric Clapton". As Joe Perry told Guitar World in 2013, the song "Steppin' Out", from that album, is one that still gives him goosebumps. "I don't think I've ever heard such intense playing and such a great solo with so much attitude on it. And the tone was revolutionary. Everybody else played with that country twang up 'tiI then. The Beatles had some juice when it came to distortion. But Clapton was finally able to break through those early studio engineers' fear of overloading." He continued: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=HquRIGE6zDA&pp=ygUXc3RlcHBpbiBvdXQgam9obiBtYXlhbGw%3D "He defined the sound that guitarists spend the rest of their lives trying to get. There's so much expression in his phrasing and the harmonics. That song still gives me goosebumps," Joe Perry said. The song was originally composed and recorded by the American artist L.C Frazier, also known as Memphis Slim in 1959. Besides Mayall and Clapton, at the time the band covered the song, was formed by John McVie (Bass) and Hughie Flint (Drums). Perry is really a big fan of the track and even included the song many times on the setlist of his solo shows. The song was played many times during his most recent Joe Perry Project tour in 2023. It is one of his favorite albums of all time https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=Z3BEaxrrhbI&pp=ygUVam9lIHBlcnJ5IHN0ZXBwaW4gb3V0 In an interview with Best Life magazine in 2004, Joe Perry listed his 10 favorite albums of all time. One of them, of course, was "Blues Breakers with Eric Clapton" (1966). He explained that it was a really important album for him in the early days of his passion for music. “This came out in 1966 and was an important record for me growing up. It was hands down the cornerstone for the classic Les Paul blues sound. The song ‘All Your Love’ was one of the first songs Aerosmith learned together as a band. And the instrumental ‘Steppin’ Out’ just kicks ass. There’s so much fire on this record. I still listen to it and shake my head,” Joe Perry said. Before he became famous with Aerosmith, Joe Perry had the chance to see John Mayall live By the late 60s, many incredible British bands were touring across the United States. Boston was one of those cities where they used to visit. So Perry had the chance to see many amazing acts in small clubs and one of them was John Mayall & The Bluesbreakers. However, at that time Clapton was no longer a member of the group. But he saw them with the amazing future Rolling Stones guitarist Mick Taylor, who was in the band for the first time from 1967 to 1969. He recalled that experience in an interview with Rock Scene Magazine back in 2018 (Transcribed by Rock and Roll Garage). “He (Mick Taylor) was playing a Les Paul, SG, slide guitar. That’s when I got turned on to slide guitar as well. The main thing is (I started) underneath the songs and seeing who is playing these things,” Joe Perry said. The post The song that Joe Perry said still gives him goosebumps appeared first on Rock And Roll Garage.

How To Survive A Nuclear War

I understand that the topic of this article is not too cheery, but this is important information.  Someday, it could save your life and the lives of your family members.  We live at a time when the potential for conflict between major powers that possess nuclear weapons is constantly in the headlines, and it is just a matter of time before someone crosses a line that will never be able to be uncrossed.  When that day arrives, it is imperative that you have a plan. Entire books have been written about how to survive a nuclear war, and so I will only be able to cover some of the most essential information in this article. If you plan to keep on living once a nuclear war erupts, the first thing that you will need to do is to be located somewhere that is at low risk of being attacked. That means that you won’t want to be located anywhere near any military installations.  If you are not sure if there is a military base close to you, you can find a list of military bases in the United States right here. In addition, population centers that are of strategic importance such as Washington D.C. and New York City will also be targeted during an all-out nuclear conflict. For those that are considering relocating, experts suggest looking “in remote and rural areas with warm climate and access to water and farmland”… Real estate experts have concluded that the places in America that are best suited for nuclear war survival are in remote and rural areas with warm climate and access to water and farmland. They have recommended against densely populated urban cities and places with mass transportation, shopping centers and other convenient amenities that are traditionally desirable for living. I think that is very good advice. Once a nuclear war starts, you will not have any time to evacuate.  In fact, if the Russians launch missiles from subs parked just off our coastlines, it would only be a matter of minutes before major coastal cities started getting hit… If Russia launched a weapon from international waters just off the East Coast, people in cities like New York, Boston, and Washington, DC, might have just 10 to 15 minutes to prepare. “You wouldn’t even have time to go get your kids from school,” Irwin Redlener, a public-health expert at Columbia University who specializes in disaster preparedness, told Insider last year. If I was the Russians, I would conduct such a first strike in the middle of the night. So the good news is that when it happens you will probably be at home sleeping in your own bed. But if you do find yourself outside when it happens, you will want to get inside as soon as possible. When an impact occurs, a fireball that is almost as hot as the core of the sun is created. Whatever you do, it is imperative that you do not look at the explosion, because the brightness of the fireball can cause blindness… The best course of action is simply to avert your eyes. When a nuclear bomb strikes, it sets off a flash of light and a giant orange fireball. A 1-megaton bomb (about 80 times larger than the “Little Boy” atomic bomb dropped on Hiroshima, Japan) could temporarily blind people up to 13 miles away on a clear day and up to 53 miles away on a clear night. The Centers for Disease Control and Prevention also recommends dropping to the ground with your face down and your hands tucked under your body to protect from flying debris or sweltering heat that could burn your skin. If you have a scarf or handkerchief, cover your nose and mouth. But make sure to keep your mouth open, so your eardrums don’t burst from pressure. Research also suggests that if you’re in an above-ground building, avoid narrow hallways and doorways, which can act like a windtunnel, accelerating the detonation’s shockwaves to dangerous, bone-crushing pressures. Instead, seek shelter along walls in large, open spaces and avoid rooms with windows, if you can. Following the explosion, radioactive particles known as nuclear fallout will start raining down from the sky… If the detonation was a surface blast or the bomb hits the earth, large amounts of fallout are produced. The dust and debris kicked into the atmosphere rains down, bringing with it dangerous amounts of radiation. The fallout may rain down as contaminated black soot known as “black rain,” which is very fatal and may be of extreme temperature. Fallout will contaminate anything it touches. It may take more than a week for all of the nuclear fallout from an explosion to return to the ground. So it is really important for you to stay inside during this time. Even if you are nowhere near the initial explosion, you need to understand that those living “hundreds of miles downwind from the burst point” are potentially in danger… It has been estimated that a weapon with a fission yield of 1 million tons TNT equivalent power (1 megaton) exploded at ground level in a 15 miles-per-hour wind would produce fallout in an ellipse extending hundreds of miles downwind from the burst point. At a distance of 20-25 miles downwind, a lethal radiation dose (600 rads) would be accumulated by a person who did not find shelter within 25 minutes after the time the fallout began. At a distance of 40-45 miles, a person would have at most 3 hours after the fallout began to find shelter. Considerably smaller radiation doses will make people seriously ill. Thus, the survival prospects of persons immediately downwind of the burst point would be slim unless they could be sheltered or evacuated. I found a pretty good map that shows what areas of the U.S. will be in most danger from nuclear fallout in the aftermath of an all-out nuclear war, and you can view that map right here.  If you live in an area that is likely to experience “severe fallout”, you will want to stay inside for at least 3 weeks. While you are sheltering inside, I would highly recommend not drinking or using tap water even if it is still available. Your water source may have been contaminated, and you do not want to ingest radioactive particles. So I would suggest having plenty of water stored up ahead of time. Those that survive the nuclear fallout will find that they are now living in a society that has no electricity, no economy and no supply chains. In addition, it will be almost impossible to grow food outdoors because of the nuclear winter that has begun… This makes Earth freezing cold even during the summer, with farmland in Kansas cooling by about 20 degrees centigrade (about 40 degrees Fahrenheit), and other regions cooling almost twice as much. A recent scientific paper estimates that over 5 billion people could starve to death, including around 99% of those in the US, Europe, Russia, and China – because most black carbon smoke stays in the Northern hemisphere where it’s produced, and because temperature drops harm agriculture more at high latitudes. So if you plan to survive a nuclear war, you will want to have enough food and supplies for yourself and for everyone that will be depending upon you for as long as you plan to stay alive. I apologize for being blunt. I am just trying to be straight with you. We live at a time when the risk of nuclear war is greater than ever, and I believe that nuclear weapons will eventually be used during the period of tremendous global chaos that is ahead of us. I am trying to do my best to sound the alarm, and many others are too. But most of the population seems to think that it is party time, and so they aren’t even paying attention as our leaders drag us ever closer to the brink of nuclear conflict. Michael’s new book entitled “Chaos” is available in paperback and for the Kindle on Amazon.com, and you can subscribe to his Substack newsletter at michaeltsnyder.substack.com. About the Author: Michael Snyder’s extremely controversial new book entitled “Chaos” is available in paperback and for the Kindle on Amazon.com. He has also written seven other books that are available on Amazon.com including “End Times”, “7 Year Apocalypse”, “Lost Prophecies Of The Future Of America”, “The Beginning Of The End”, and “Living A Life That Really Matters”.  When you purchase any of Michael’s books you help to support the work that he is doing.  You can also get his articles by email as soon as he publishes them by subscribing to his Substack newsletter.  Michael has published thousands of articles on The Economic Collapse Blog, End Of The American Dream and The Most Important News, and he always freely and happily allows others to republish those articles on their own websites.  These are such troubled times, and people need hope.  John 3:16 tells us about the hope that God has given us through Jesus Christ: “For God so loved the world, that he gave his only begotten Son, that whosoever believeth in him should not perish, but have everlasting life.”  If you have not already done so, we strongly urge you to invite Jesus Christ to be your Lord and Savior today.
