French Dip Sliders

French Dip Sliders

A fun twist on a classic sandwich‚ these French Dip Sliders are a deliciously easy appetizer or dinner idea for any day of the week! FRENCH DIPS MADE INTO SLIDERS I have always been a fan of French Dips. They are really one of my favorite sandwiches. When it comes to these French Dip Sliders‚ it takes that favorite sandwich to a whole other level. I love when I can have things in smaller portions that I can use as an appetizer or meal and not have to commit to one larger sandwich. With all the same great flavors of the classic‚ these are baked up with cheese‚ onions‚ roast beef and then a butter onion soup topping. Add in the au jus dipping sauce and this French Dip Slider recipe is a real winner! FREQUENTLY ASKED QUESTIONS: What rolls are best for French Dip Sliders? We usually use Hawaiian Sweet Rolls but you can use any of your favorite slider buns for this recipe. We like the contrast of the sweet rolls with the sandwich itself. Do I have to use provolone cheese? While this is the most common cheese used for French Dips you can use others such as mozzarella or even Swiss cheese. Do I have to make the dipping sauce? These are great alone and don’t require the au jus. But they’re called French Dips because of the au just dipping sauce so we make the sauce. Can I use another meat besides roast beef? While we want to stick with beef‚ you can swap out the deli roast beef with leftover pot roast‚ Mississippi roast‚ or any leftover beef you have on hand will work with this recipe. Is the Onion Soup Mix on top really necessary? No. If you feel like it is onion overload‚ just don’t use it. If you want‚ you can just melt a little butter and pour that on top. I also have a recipe for Homemade Onion Soup Mix as well. How do I store leftover French Dip Sliders? These can be stored covered in an airtight container or in pan in the refrigerator where they will keep for 2-3 days. You can reheat in the oven until heated through or in the microwave. INGREDIENTS NEEDED FOR FRENCH DIP SLIDERS: (SEE RECIPE CARD BELOW FOR THE FULL RECIPE) HOW TO MAKE FRENCH DIP SLIDERS In a large skillet over medium heat‚ melt the butter. Add the onions and coat in the butter. Cook‚ stirring occasionally‚ for about 12-15 minutes until the onions are soft and browned but not burnt. Add the thyme‚ salt‚ and pepper‚ stir to combine‚ take off the heat‚ and set aside. Preheat the oven to 350°F. Take the rolls out of the package‚ leaving the rolls intact. Take a large knife and slice the rolls across so you have the tops and bottom separated. Place the bottom‚ cut side up into an 11×7-inch baking dish. Top with half of the cheese.  Add the roast beef. Top with the onions‚ spreading them out.  Add the remaining cheese. Then add the tops of the rolls on top. In a small bowl stir together the melted butter and onion soup mix. I like to brush this mixture on top of the rolls to make sure it’s evenly distributed but you can just pour the butter sauce on top. Cover loosely with foil‚ you want to make sure the foil is not touching the tops of the rolls and bake for 25 minutes. Take the foil off and bake an additional 5 minutes to brown the rolls.  While the rolls are baking‚ prepare the au jus per the package directions with the water. Serve the rolls with an optional garnish of parsley and au jus on the side for dipping. CRAVING MORE RECIPES? Stuffed Pepper Casserole

Stuffed Pepper Casserole

The Best Stuffed Pepper Casserole is a deliciously easy and tasty dinner recipe! Ground beef‚ rice‚ tomatoes‚ garlic‚ cheese and seasonings! No need to even boil the rice first! AN EASIER VERSION OF STUFFED PEPPERS I think my love for stuffed peppers is pretty clear at this point. I have shared recipes for Crock Pot Stuffed Peppers‚ Instant Pot Stuffed Peppers‚ Stuffed Pepper Soup and Instant Pot Stuffed Pepper Soup! This is another great one to add to the collection. This Stuffed Pepper Casserole is a filling and satisfying dinner recipe that is simple to make! TIPS FOR MAKING STUFFED PEPPER CASSEROLE: Try using one pound ground beef and one pound ground Italian sausage for a kick of flavor. Do not use brown rice for this recipe. Brown rice takes longer to cook and needs more liquid. I have not tested this with brown rice so make at your own risk. If you don’t like it quite as “beefy” – just use one pound of meat instead of two. A can of petite diced tomatoes can be substituted for the regular diced tomatoes. You can also find diced tomatoes that have basil‚ oregano and garlic seasoning which will also add more flavor. Don’t like green bell peppers? Try yellow or orange peppers for a milder flavor. This casserole would be delicious served with a side salad or maybe some Garlic Bread. INGREDIENTS NEEDED FOR STUFFED PEPPER CASSEROLE (FULL RECIPE IN THE RECIPE CARD BOTTOM OF THE POST) HOW TO MAKE STUFFED PEPPER CASSEROLE Preheat oven to 350F degrees and spray a 9×13-inch casserole dish with nonstick cooking spray. In a large skillet (with high sides) over medium-high heat‚ add ground beef‚ diced green peppers and onion. Cook and crumble the ground beef until no longer pink and the peppers and onions are soft. Turn off heat. Drain excess grease from meat and put back into the skillet. Add in minced garlic‚ salt‚ pepper‚ Italian seasoning‚ tomato paste and diced tomatoes‚ beef broth. Stir. Then add in uncooked rice and stir again. Stir this mixture really well and place into prepared baking dish. Cover the baking dish with aluminum foil and put into preheated oven. Bake for about an hour. Stir the mixture halfway through to ensure all the rice gets evenly cooked. Casserole is done once the rice is completely cooked and soft. Uncover the casserole and top with shredded cheese. Place back into the oven for about 5-7 minutes for the cheese to get completely melted. Then serve! HOW TO STORE: Cover stuffed pepper casserole and put it into the refrigerator. It will keep for up to three days. To reheat‚ sprinkle a little water on the rice mixture and cover with a paper towel and reheat in the microwave. To freeze‚ store in an airtight container. Freeze for up to 3 months. To reheat‚ allow it to thaw in the refrigerator‚ then reheat using microwave directions above. CRAVING MORE RECIPES?
