Top Republicans have started to push President Joe Biden to resign from office immediately after he announced on Sunday that he was ending his reelection campaign. The 81-year-old said in a letter addressed to the public: “I believe it is in the best interest of my party and the country for me to stand down and to focus solely on fulfilling my duties as President for the remainder of my term.” Biden did not give a specific reason for why he decided to end his campaign, even though it was driven mainly by his declining poll numbers against former President Donald Trump.
