Plus you’ll need vegetable oil to fry in. That’s all! If you want a little extra sweetness, you’ll need powdered sugar for sprinkling on top. Freeze The Peanut Butter Cups The key to success with this recipe is to freeze the peanut butter cups before frying them. Stick them in the freezer for at least an hour.   Tips For Making Deep-Fried Peanut Butter Cups You want your peanut butter cups to be partially frozen. Don’t remove them from the freezer until you are ready to batter and fry them. Keep the oil temperature between 350 and 375 degrees. I use a clip-on thermometer to keep track of the oil temperature.
