A Guatemalan Volcano Erupted During A Lightning Storm And You’ll Never Believe The Breathtaking Show That Followed

One of Volcan de Fuego’s recent eruptions is captivating the world. The Guatemalan volcano is one of the most active in the world with small explosions of gas and lava every 15 to 20 minutes. Life-threatening eruptions are less frequent, so the spot has become a favorite location for travelers. Last week, Volcan de Fuego was having a typical day, and dozens of tourists were standing nearby watching for activity when they had the chance experience to see a volcanic eruption create a lightning storm. And it turned into a beautiful display of lights and smoke. A woman caught the display on video and posted it on Instagram. It has since gone viral for good reason. The video shows lava and ash shooting from the volcano as lightning simultaneously connects with it, and magnificent streaks light up the sky. The spectacle continues for some time and creates seemingly endless bolts. View this post on Instagram A post shared by Show you a different China (@maiduspace) It’s Common For Volcanos To Create Lightning Storms According to Mike Poland with the Yellowstone Volcano Observatory, the phenomenon is more common than most know because people aren’t typically gathered around when volcanoes erupt. “When you put all of this ash into the atmosphere, it creates the right sort of conditions for electrical charges to bounce around and produce a lot of lightning,” he explained to Cowboy State Daily. “The volcano erupts and puts a lot of ash (particles) into the atmosphere that’s electrostatically charged and interacting with one another,” he continued. “It’s really common in volcanic plumes. The most intense lightning storms on Earth occur in volcanic clouds.” Volcanic lightning, which is what people witnessed in the viral video, doesn’t need ice particles in clouds as thunderstorm lightning does. The volcano produces enough charge to sustain the “storm.” But if ice crystals are present in the atmosphere, it can intensify the electricity and create an even more stunning show. CBS's Robert Costa Begs Bill Maher to Stop Mocking Lefties, Just Mock Republicans

CBS's Robert Costa Begs Bill Maher to Stop Mocking Lefties, Just Mock Republicans

CBS reporter Robert Costa put together a puffball interview for HBO Real Time host Bill Maher on their show Sunday Morning. They let him claim he's not ideological and didn't laugh when he said  “I speak for the normies. I speak for that vast middle that is tired of the partisanship. I don’t want to hate half the country, and I don’t hate half the country.” Bill Maher represents the "vast middle," the "normies"? Conservatives across America would make a face at that. At bottom, Maher is a bit of shock jock, so that when Democrats are in power he's going to mock them as well, just as he suggested on Friday night that the Democrats "blew it" in all their legal warfare on Trump.  What was amazing in this profile was Costa imploring Maher to lay off mockery of the Left, just shine the spotlight on the right-wingers!  Robert @costareports pressed @BillMaher on @CBSSunday: If “left irritates you,” but “the right often alarms you,” then “what do you say to critics who say you should just focus on them if they’re more alarming to you than the left, then why not shine the spotlight on them only?” pic.twitter.com/5glVpJQsFQ — Brent Baker ?? ?? (@BrentHBaker) May 12, 2024 COSTA: You write a lot of throughout this book that the left irritates you, frustrates you at times, but the right often alarms you. MAHER: Yes. They’re very alarming. They’re extremely alarming. More alarming. COSTA: What do you say to your critics, though, who say that you should just focus on them, Bill, if they’re more alarming to you than the Left. And why not shine the spotlight on them only? MAHER: The truth isn’t one-sided like that. The Democrats constantly are, running against Trump with the idea ‘You people out there couldn’t possibly vote for this guy.’ And people are saying, ‘Watch me. Hold my beer. Watch me vote for him again.’ Earth to Bill: Your "news" people at CBS and ABC and NBC and PBS do believe the "truth is one-sided like that." Maher then insisted Trump is a massive liar and literally crazy with malignant narcissism. CBS ran a clip of Maher citing the Glenn Kessler "lie counter" at The Washington Post: "Trump made over 8,000 false or misleading statements as president. Nothing like this has ever happened before." What has never happened before (or since) was the Post doing a database of "false or misleading statements" by one politician. They refused to follow through with Biden. Maher could have asked Costa when he and Bob Woodward were going to do one of those investigative books on President Biden. Woodward did four on Trump. They're just like Kessler: "why shine the spotlight" on Biden?  Speaking of false statements, Maher talked about how he was willing (despite leftist protest) to interview former Trump Attorney General William Barr, in part because he found it very important that Barr was willing to say Trump lost the election. Then Maher also took after ”Bill Barr's, I thought, horrible behavior when the Mueller Report came out and he basically lied about it.” Costa didn't ask: What's the lie? It was more about spin as the collusion case fizzled. At the time, Democrats were furious because Barr announced Mueller would not indict Trump, but they wanted wiggle room. Mueller then offered verbal flatulence to Congress, "We did not, however, make a determination as to whether the president did commit a crime." But the scandal was over.

Howard University cancels graduation mid-ceremony after angry family members pound on doors and break window

A graduation ceremony at Howard University for nursing students ended in disruption and chaos after angry family members chanted "Let us in!" and pounded on the doors and broke a window after the auditorium closed after hitting capacity, according to the New York Post. Many loved ones of students in the College of Nursing and Allied Health Sciences crammed into the Cramton Auditorium in Washington, DC on Thursday. But not all relatives made it to the location in time before the doors closed.“I didn’t get to walk. I graduated magna cum laude and I didn’t even get to walk. I’m the class of 2020. I didn’t get to walk for my high school graduation and I didn’t get to walk for my college graduation.” — (@) Video footage of those standing outside the auditorium showed people yelling "Let us in! Let us in!" as the ceremony started. Not only that, but the video also shows a window that was broken after loved ones pounded on the doors to be let in. Some even tried to push past security to get inside. The Hilltop reported that Dean Gina Spivey-Brown said the college was the largest graduating CNAHS class in Howard's history. There were 280 degrees awarded. The graduation website said that Cramton was meant to accommodate about three our four guests per graduate. The auditorium is able to hold about 1,500 people, and the event was not ticketed.“Because of the size of the room, and because our relatives sometimes do not know how to act, the fire department is now here to shut us down,” Spivey-Brown said to the crowd. Keynote speaker, Dwain N. Esmond, was asked to pause his speech. One graduate, Halle Ragoonanan, said the incident was especially heartbreaking because she was unable to walk for her high school graduation in 2020 due to the pandemic.“I didn’t even get to walk,” she said. “I didn’t get to walk. I graduated magna cum laude and I didn’t even get to walk. I’m the class of 2020. I didn’t get to walk for my high school graduation and I didn’t get to walk for my college graduation.”Kalysta Henderson, a health sciences major from Riverside, California, said she was also heartbroken over the development. “I feel completely devastated, I feel blindsided. I did not know it was going to be like this. My entire family flew out here,” she said. “Howard is a very expensive school, and I have paid for it myself out of pocket and through loans just to stay here… today has just been completely devastating and heartbreaking.”Like Blaze News? South Side Chicago pastor says his 'faith in government is very low' after seeing city resources go toward the migrant crisis

A pastor from the South Side of Chicago has spent years trying to help improve the community but said his "faith in government is very low" after seeing much of the city's resources going toward the migrant crisis. Pastor Corey Brooks, founder of Project H.O.O.D., spoke with Fox News Digital, and said: "It's been overwhelming. We already have an infrastructure that is overburdened and we already have a city that is already overtaxed. And now you're adding individuals who, for the most part, are here illegally and now we're having to carry that burden.""It's very disheartening because, for organizations like ours – we're already trying to do the work in an area that's already difficult to do, and now you're adding more people to the problem," the pastor added. "When we make our city a sanctuary city and we start allowing people to be here illegally and having to take care of them, that is going to be a problem that is overwhelming."He went on to say that the situation represents a "serious leadership flaw," adding that it is "a serious problem."The report stated:Chicago has spent nearly $300 million on the migrant crisis since 2022, including $215 million since Chicago Mayor Brandon Johnson took office in May 2023. Last month, the city voted to approve an additional $70 million to go toward migrant care despite backlash from residents that illegal immigrants are being prioritized over native Chicagoans. That money is on top of a $150 million assigned to migrant aid in the budget already.Even though residents pushed back against Johnson's massive effort to help those who are here illegally, the city has played host to 40,000 migrants since August 2022. The report noted that there has been as many as 2,000 arriving to the city in a single week. The Associated Press reported last month that the city had spent more than $300 million of the city, state, and federal funds to provide housing, health care, education, and more to around 38,000 mostly southern American migrants. The report also mentioned that the development in Chicago has stirred widespread resentment among the black community. "When we make our city a sanctuary city and we start allowing people to be here illegally and having to take care of them, that is going to be a problem that is overwhelming," Brooks said. "The leadership has been taking funds from much needed areas, and they're getting a lot of flack for it.""And all of a sudden, those resources that they never had, for the homeless problems that they've already been faced with, they're now being made available," he continued. "I understand when people, from Chicago or other areas start to really question the fact that now we have these resources, and they're going toward individuals who sometimes are not even legally here, and we never had an opportunity to get those resources ourselves."Like Blaze News?
