The male is the greatest weapon to protect the family. What is true for the family is true for the nation. Let’s be clear: the woman who acted as a human shield to the President is a woman of valor. There’s no need to take cheap shots at her. She displayed courage and bravery. Nevertheless, placing women as human shields of the President of the United States is the catastrophic result of the demolition of gender in our society. Women aren’t wired for this. Cheatle’s goal to have one third of the secret service filled by females has zero benefit for national security. The woman standing in front of Trump looks to be about 5’5”; Trump is 6’3”. A Secret Service agent should be able to shield a president with their physical size, move him with physical force, and engage in hand-to-hand combat if necessary. As Officer Tatum points out, they should be elite forces who command an intimidating presence and should be a large, imposing person of at least 6’2”. None of the women assigned to this security detail fulfilled those qualifications. He points out that women often have insights into criminals that men don’t, but physical fitness standards should be 100% the same across the board. But my experience tells me otherwise, and so does common sense. Infantry men are expected to be able to carry 60-100 lbs of extra gear, and still be able to carry their buddy who also has extra gear to safety if they need arises. Rep. Adam Schiff (D-CA) called for President Joe Biden to drop out of the presidential race on Wednesday where he expressed “serious concerns” about Biden’s ability to beat former President Donald Trump. Schiff’s statement comes as dozens of Democrats have called on Biden to end his campaign following his disastrous debate against Trump late last month that spurred weeks of highly negative news coverage for the party. “President Biden has been one of the most consequential presidents in our nation’s history, and his lifetime of service as a Senator, a Vice President, and now as President has made our country better,” Schiff told The Los Angeles Times. “But our nation is at a crossroads. A second Trump presidency will undermine the very foundation of our democracy, and I have serious concerns about whether the President can defeat Donald Trump in November.” He acknowledged that while Biden was the one who had to make the decision, it was time for him “to pass the torch” and “secure his legacy of leadership” by allowing another Democrat the opportunity to beat Trump. “I will do everything I can to help them succeed,” Schiff said. “There is only one singular goal: defeating Donald Trump. Pitts said that he sees patients like Biden up to 20 times a day at his practice and that the president’s stuttering problem has nothing to do with his cognitive issues. “You notice when he turns it’s kind of end-block turning; it’s not a quick turn,” Pitts continued. “That’s one of the hallmarks of Parkinson’s; it’s rigidity and bradykinesia, slow movement, and he has that hallmark, especially with the low voice they said was a cold; hypophonia, small monotone voice like this over time is a hallmark of Parkinsonism. In a bid to kick his soft-on-crime reputation as he runs for governor, North Carolina Attorney General Josh Stein touted a sheriff’s enforcement in his latest campaign ad. There’s just one problem: the sheriff in question has worked to shield criminal illegal aliens from deportation. Durham County Sheriff Clarence Birkhead has repeatedly refused to cooperate with Immigration and Customs Enforcement (ICE) as a record number of illegal immigrants have come into the United States under the Biden administration. In his endorsement, Birkhead says Stein has “done everything he can possibly do to make North Carolina safe across all communities.” But Stein has taken heat from law enforcement officials over his record on sanctuary cities, going as far as to claim “there are no sanctuary cities in North Carolina.” But according to Davidson County Sheriff Richie Simmons, “the threat” of sanctuary cities “is very real.” “Here’s the truth,” Simmons said in a video released by the Republican Governors Association. “Several North Carolina countries are refusing to cooperate with deportation officials.” Under Birkhead’s leadership, Durham has become one of those counties. Shortly after assuming office in 2018, Birkhead announced that he would no longer honor detainers from ICE, which are placed on criminals who are suspected to be illegal immigrants and who may be removable from the United States. The move prevents illegal immigrants arrested for criminal activity from being deported. In a 2019 press release, Birkhead’s office boasted that the sheriff “stands by his decision to end the practice of honoring ICE detainers.” Birkhead listed his decision to disobey ICE detainers as an “accomplishment” on his campaign website, claiming “Detainers target marginalized communities.” “It is unfortunate that ICE is now becoming more active in North Carolina, specifically in Durham,” Birkhead said in a statement included in the press release. “The recent actions of ICE agents are making persons, in our community, afraid of law enforcement. The decision I made to not honor ICE detainers was in part to help ALL of Durham’s people feel safe.”

A mother of two and her parents were all shot in California, but one of the victims managed to name the suspect before dying. Brenda Morales, 36, and her two young children, William, 6, and Wesley, 1, were shot along with Morale’s parents, 70-year-old Miguel and 56-year-old Marta, according to People Magazine. Before Miguel died, he named his son-in-law, Shane Killian, as the shooter. Killian, 54, was arrested without incident, Alameda Police Chief Nishant Joshi said during a press conference following the arrest. He said police responded to the home on July 10 after receiving a report that someone had been shot. When police first arrived, they found Miguel and offered assistance. Miguel managed to name Killian before succumbing to his injuries, KTVU reported. Police “became focused on a nearby residence,” Joshi said at the press conference, and went to the door. Killian answered and was taken into custody without incident. Afterward, police searched the home where Miguel was and found the bodies of the other four victims. Morales was Killian’s wife, William and Wesley were his children, and Miguel and Marta were his in-laws. Killian has been charged with four counts of murder, one count of attempted murder, corporal injury to a relationship partner, elder or dependent adult abuse, infliction of injury, possession of an assault weapon, and possession of an unconventional pistol, the Alameda County District Attorney said in a statement. Wesley initially survived the incident but died in the hospital, according to a GoFundMe set up to help cover funeral costs and relocating the victims’ bodies to their native El Salvador. Alameda police told People Magazine they expect Killian to be charged with Wesley’s death as well. It is unclear why Killian allegedly killed his family. He is currently being held without bail, according to KRON 4. His defense attorney, Palden Ukyab, told the outlet his client intends to plead not guilty. William, who was just 6, played in the Alameda Little League. An official from the organization told KTVU that his death has impacted the community. “Our heart goes out to them in its fullest,” Alameda Little League President Ron Matthews told the outlet. “This is really harmful to us – hurtful I should say.”

As demands for accountability mount, a top House Republican subpoenaed Secret Service Director Kimberly Cheatle on Wednesday, compelling her to testify next week on the security failure underlying the attempted assassination of former President Donald Trump at a weekend rally in Pennsylvania. Oversight Chairman James Comer (R-KY), who previously scheduled a hearing with Cheatle for Monday, said in a cover letter that Homeland Security Department (DHS) officials “appear to have intervened and your attendance is now in question” — necessitating a subpoena — amid a lack of “meaningful” follow-ups. “The lack of transparency and failure to cooperate with the Committee on this pressing matter by both DHS and the Secret Service further calls into question your ability to lead the Secret Service and necessitates the attached subpoena compelling your appearance before the Oversight Committee,” Comer wrote. Questions have been raised about how a shooter, identified as a 20-year-old Pennsylvania man named Thomas Matthew Crooks, managed to get onto a nearby rooftop and begin shooting roughly 150 yards away from the stage in Butler, Pennsylvania, with an AR-style rifle before the Secret Service could stop him. A bullet ripped through Trump’s right ear, causing blood to pour down his face. The shooter also killed one rally-goer and injured two others. A Secret Service sniper reportedly shot and killed the gunman from another building while other personnel rushed to protect Trump and escort him off the stage. Comer’s panel announced earlier this week that a public hearing with Cheatle would take place on Capitol Hill at 10 a.m. ET on Monday, giving lawmakers and the American people a chance to hear first-hand about the shooting and just what happened when it came to planning to secure the venue of the rally. She vowed her agency would “work with the appropriate Congressional committees on any oversight action.” Cheatle also said she would not resign, as pressure grows from the GOP. The FBI is leading an investigation into the shooting as “potential domestic terrorism,” with the agency saying it has gained access to the shooter’s phone, conducted a search of his home and vehicle, and conducted dozens of interviews. President Joe Biden said during an interview that was released on Wednesday that he will consider dropping out of the presidential race if doctors came to him and diagnosed him with a “medical condition.” The 81-year-old, who has insisted that he does not have any major medical issues, is continuing to face calls from within his own party to drop out of the race following his disastrous debate performance late last month against former President Donald Trump in which he displayed obvious signs of cognitive impairment. He said that he “made a serious mistake in the whole debate,” but then appeared to lose his train of thought and did not say what mistake he made. “I said I was going to be a transitional candidate, and I thought I would be able to move on from this and pass it on to somebody else,” he added. “But I didn’t anticipate things getting so, so, so divided. Following Trump’s announcement on Monday that Vance would be his running-mate in the 2024 election, Amazon sales for the VP nominee’s 2016 book in paperback and hardcover catapulted it to the best seller list, The Hill reported. As of Tuesday morning, “Hillbilly Elegy: A Memoir of a Family and Culture in Crisis,” was in the number one and two spot on Amazon, The Hill noted. Before the announcement on Monday, the book was at number 220, the Associated Press noted. By Monday night, the AP reported that sales for  “Hillbilly Elegy” totaled at least 1.6 million copies.
