As the Biden administration pressured Big Tech companies to censor Americans’ speech during the COVID vaccine rollout‚ Google’s YouTube went along with the White House’s requests before Facebook was pressured to follow suit‚ according to documents shared with House Judiciary Chairman Jim Jordan and obtained by The Daily Wire. In an April 18‚ 2021‚ email‚ Facebook President for Global Affairs Nick Clegg expressed concern after Andy Slavitt‚ a senior White House advisor‚ told him that Facebook was “lagging behind” as YouTube “made significant advances to remove content leading to vaccine hesitancy.” “Just got off hour long call with Andy Slavitt‚” Clegg‚ the United Kingdom’s former deputy prime minister‚ wrote in the email. “There are some pretty serious — and sensitive … issues we need to address. A summary: He was appreciative of the data we sent thru on Friday‚ and confirmed that Rob F had said that they had never received so much so much data from us before.”  Clegg‚ who appears to referring to Rob Flaherty‚ Biden’s censorship czar‚ said it was the White House’s view that Facebook was lagging behind the other tech companies. “Andy attended a meeting of misinfo researchers (didn’t provide names) organized by Rob F on Friday in which the consensus was that FB is a ‘disinformation factory‚’ and that YT has made significant advances to remove content leading to vaccine hesitancy whilst we have lagged behind‚” Clegg continued.  Facebook Email Earlier this year‚ Jordan began releasing the “Facebook Files‚” showing that the Biden administration pressured the social media giant to stifle speech the White House didn’t like‚ including limiting outlets such as The Daily Wire’s reach on the platform and boosting the reach of legacy media outlets. Slavitt shot down Clegg’s concern‚ saying the post “demonstrably inhibits confidence in COVID vaccines amongst those the Biden administration is trying to reach‚” according to the email. Slavitt went on to say that YouTube would never allow such content‚ the emails show. Facebook Email Around ten days later‚ Google appears to confirm it was following the Biden administration’s requests closely.  In an email from April 29‚ 2021‚ the Google/YouTube government affairs team said that over the past few weeks‚ it “had conversations with the White House staff on YouTube’s policies and all the great work that is being done to raise authoritative information and fight harmful misinformation related to COVID-19 misinformation.”  “The discussions have been good and the information has been well received‚” the email added.   Google Email Following the release of the “Twitter Files” and the Judiciary Committee’s findings on Facebook‚ the American public has seen first-hand how the Biden administration colluded with Big Tech companies to censor speech and silence voices it didn’t approve of.  The “Facebook Files” were modeled after the “Twitter Files‚” a series of reports from investigative journalists‚ who were given access to internal communications at Twitter after Elon Musk took over. The “Twitter Files” revealed how the tech giant communicated directly with the Biden administration and the FBI‚ discussing tweets and even accounts of people who expressed concern about the COVID vaccine.

California Democrat Governor Gavin Newsom’s wife reportedly ended the Fox News debate on Thursday night between Newsom and Florida Governor Ron DeSantis. After the first 90 minutes of the debate were finished‚ moderator Sean Hannity said that he had more time to extend the debate. Both candidates agreed to stay and Newsom said that he would be “happy to do it.” “We will take a break. They have agreed to stay‚” Hannity said. “Well‚ that’s I guess the debate on the fly. We’ll continue on the other side and later have live post-debate coverage.” Behind the scenes‚ however‚ the Newsom team was reportedly furious over the outcome of the debate‚ with Newsom adviser Sean Clegg claiming: “The debate was rigged.” Much of the reaction on social media to the debate was positive for DeSantis and negative for Newsom. During the break before the extended portion of the debate‚ Newsom’s wife‚ Jennifer Siebel Newsom‚ entered the room and intervened to end the debate‚ NBC News reported‚ citing multiple sources with the DeSantis campaign and another source that was unaffiliated with either side. “We’re done‚” she reportedly said. POLITICO reported that two sources‚ including a DeSantis campaign aide‚ said the Newsom’s wife had put a stop to the debate extension. “Gavin Newsom got beat so badly last night his wife literally had to throw in the towel for him‚” said DeSantis spokesperson Andrew Romeo. DeSantis team strongly pushed back on those claims‚ saying that DeSantis was prepared to potentially go as long as three hours. A spokesperson for Newsom claimed without evidence that there was a teleprompter set up that allowed DeSantis to see what was going to be asked. A Fox News spokesperson said this claim was not true. Newsom’s team was also angered that DeSantis used printed images during the debate to show graphic material taught in California schools and a map of fecal matter on the streets of San Francisco. The Fox News spokesperson said that candidates were never told that they could not use props during the debate.

Kelly Clarkson‘s ex-husband Brandon Blackstock has been ordered to pay back the singer almost $3 million dollars in their ongoing legal battle after being found guilty of overcharging the singer on several of her contracts while acting as her manager. The California Labor Commission found that Blackstock unlawfully procured business deals for Clarkson as her manager‚ such as her landing the hosting gig for the Billboard Music Awards and her role as a judge on “The Voice‚” according to legal documents obtained by People magazine. The commission ordered Blackstock to pay the Grammy Award-winning artist $2‚641‚374 for overstepping his role in deals that it said could have only been handled by a licensed agent. The commission’s ruling found Blackstock crossed the line for her contracts for the music awards‚ the TV reality competition spot‚ Norwegian cruise and Wayfair. However‚ it didn’t agree that Blackstock had when it came to her landing the contract for “The Kelly Clarkson Show” and ruled that Blackstock will retain the earnings. There are certainly examples of former child actors who grew up to become happy‚ healthy‚ and well-adjusted adults. Unfortunately‚ there are also dozens of examples of the opposite happening.  The pitfalls of stepping into Hollywood under the age of 18 are so bad that many former child stars are speaking publicly against the concept and even forbid their own kids from entering the business. Most recently‚ former “Full House” actress Jodie Sweetin said that one of the biggest dangers for young stars is having parents who once wanted to be famous themselves. That’s not what happened to her — Sweetin’s adoptive parents were great‚ she said — but she also noted how people used to approach her to say the sole reason they had children was to make them famous. “When you see the kids that grew up in this business that turned out to be fairly normal‚ well-rounded people‚ they all have really normal parents‚ who didn’t want to be in the business themselves‚” the 41-year-old celebrity told Today during a November 2023 interview.  “They’re like‚ ‘I tried to be famous‚ but it didn’t work out‚ so now it’s your turn‚’” Sweetin added‚ saying people have told her‚ “I had a kid because I wanted them to be famous.” The actress became a household name thanks to the popular 90s comedy “Full House‚” making her debut on the show when she was just 5- years- old. While fame-hungry parents weren’t her downfall‚ Sweetin did struggle in adulthood with drug and alcohol addiction. She said the show ending was partially to blame. Drugs and alcohol just sort of numbed everything.” Another celebrity who warned the world about the dangers of childhood stardom is Academy Award winning actress Natalie Portman. The 42-year-old mother of two said children should be allowed to experience traditional childhood far from the bright lights of Hollywood. “I would not encourage young people to go into this. I don’t mean ever; I mean as children‚” Portman told Variety during a recent interview. “I feel it was almost an accident of luck that I was not harmed‚ also combined with very overprotective‚ wonderful parents‚” the “Black Swan” actress continued. “You don’t like it when you’re a kid‚ and you’re grateful for it when you’re an adult. Former child star Christina Ricci agreed with Sweetin’s assessment‚ going as far as saying parents who force their children to become famous are committing “child abuse.”  “I feel it’s child abuse to make your child famous‚” the 43-year-old mother of two said in 2019. “Once [my son’s] an adult‚ and he studies‚ and he understands that it’s an art form‚ then he can pursue an acting career if he’d like.” “Being famous is not good for children‚ it’s just not‚” Ricci added “We have a million examples of why it’s not good for children. I’m just not going to risk it. Ricci began her acting career at the age of nine in “Mermaids” (1990). She became a household name for her breakout role as Wednesday Addams in “The Addams Family” (1991) and the sequel‚ “Addams Family Values” (1993). During a July 2019 interview with People‚ Ricci said she has no regrets about being a child star.  “I’ve had some incredible experiences and loved working as a child. I have to say ‘The Addams Family’ movies were two really – they were like glory days for me as a 10 and 12-year-old. Those were great movies to be on‚” she said at the time.  There are many examples of child stars who had drama in their lives. Former child star Amanda Bynes was placed on a psychiatric hold in March 2023 after the actress was found roaming the streets of Los Angeles naked‚ as The Daily Wire previously reported. This was the latest in a long string of disturbing incidents over the years‚ including Bynes being placed under a conservatorship for years. Speaking of conservatorships‚ former child star turned pop artist Britney Spears has been making headlines for most of her adult life after launching her career in “The Mickey Mouse Club” at the age of 11. In time‚ Spears became one of the most celebrated pop culture figures in the world‚ but this fame had a dark side. Between 2007 and 2008‚ the pop star shaved her head‚ assaulted a photographer with an umbrella‚ lost custody of her two children‚ and was placed under a conservatorship which lasted 13 years. There are almost too many examples of child stars gone wrong to mention. Macaulay Culkin‚ who became famous as a young kid starring in “Home Alone‚” took his parents to court to block them from controlling his trust fund. The actress became famous thanks to her role in Steven Spielberg’s “E.T. the Extra-Terrestrial” in 1982 when she was five. Barrymore is a good example of a former child star who turned her life around after being in some bad situations. But not all young actors are able to escape a terrible fate. Gary Coleman‚ the kid star of the “Diff’rent Strokes” (1978-1986) died at the age of 42 following a history of substance abuse and depression. There will always be a need for child actors‚ but by the same token‚ there is a need to protect them from the worst elements of Hollywood. Those who have been there themselves have sounded the alarm‚ and it’s up to parents and studio executives to heed their warnings.

A Tennessee court ruled on Thursday that a group of parents can intervene in the legal fight to block the release of the manifesto of the transgender-identifying woman who murdered six people at a Christian school in Nashville earlier this year.  The Tennessee Court of Appeals said that the Covenant School‚ Covenant Presbyterian Church‚ and parents at the school had standing to intervene in efforts to block the manifesto’s release‚ but did not rule on whether to block the release of the shooter’s writings. “In this appeal‚ the only issues properly before this Court concern the trial court’s grant of intervention to Intervenors — any issues concerning the disclosure of the sought records had not yet been adjudicated at the time this appeal was filed and are not before this Court‚” Judge Thomas Frierson wrote. The church‚ school‚ and some parents of kids at the school have argued that the shooter’s writings should remain sealed for security and privacy purposes.  The ruling is the latest update in the legal battle over the manifesto of the 28-year-old woman who went on a rampage inside The Covenant School‚ a Presbyterian-affiliated pre-K-6 school‚ where she killed six people on March 28‚ 2023. The victims of the attack included three 9-year-olds — Evelyn Dieckhaus‚ 9; Hallie Scruggs‚ 9; William Kinney‚ 9 — and three staff members — headmaster Katherine Koonce‚ 60; Cynthia Peak‚ 61; and Mike Hill‚ 61. The Metropolitan Police Department and the Tennessee Bureau of Investigation denied open records requests from The Daily Wire‚ the Tennessee Star‚ and other outlets‚ citing that it was an ongoing investigation — even though the shooter was killed by police during the attack.  Michael Patrick Leahy‚ the CEO of Star News Digital Media‚ said that the Tennessee Star may consider an appeal to the Tennessee Supreme Court. “The Chancery Court ruling to allow the intervention was a clear violation of Tennessee statutes‚ as was today’s ruling by the Court of Appeals. Those crackers going to private fancy schools with those fancy khakis + sports backpacks w/ their daddies mustangs + convertables [sic]‚” she wrote in her diary.  “I wish to shoot you weakass d***s w/ your mop yellow hair‚ wanna kill all you little crackers! Bunch of little f*****s w/ your white privileges‚” she wrote. Three photographs of the pages of the shooter’s diary were obtained by commentator Steven Crowder‚ who reported that his investigative team independently confirmed the authenticity of the images. The Daily Wire’s sources have also confirmed the authenticity of the pages. The case now heads back to the the Chancery Court for Davidson County in Nashville.
