Former President Donald Trump released a statement on Saturday after being shot at a political rally in Pennsylvania in what federal law enforcement officials are investigating as an assassination attempt. “I want to thank The United States Secret Service, and all of Law Enforcement, for their rapid response on the shooting that just took place in Butler, Pennsylvania,” Trump said in a statement posted to social media. “Most importantly, I want to extend my condolences to the family of the person at the Rally who was killed, and also to the family of another person that was badly injured. It is incredible that such an act can take place in our Country.” “Nothing is known at this time about the shooter, who is now dead,” he continued. “I was shot with a bullet that pierced the upper part of my right ear. I knew immediately that something was wrong in that I heard a whizzing sound, shots, and immediately felt the bullet ripping through the skin. Much bleeding took place, so I realized then what was happening. GOD BLESS AMERICA!” The U.S. Secret Service said in a statement that at least one rally attendee was killed and two more were seriously injured during the shooting. Kid Rock sent a strong message to followers that if you “f***” with former President Donald Trump then “you f*** with me” after the apparent assassination attempt on Trump on Saturday. In a post on Instagram, the 53-year-old singer shared a video of him making it clear that taking a shot at the former president is not okay after Trump was shot during his rally in Butler, Pennsylvania, while he was speaking to supporters ahead of the 2024 election. “You f*** with Trump, you f*** with me,” the rocker — born Robert James Ritchie — said in a video online as he pointed at the camera, and made it clear he was angry after someone had shot at Trump. The rocker wasn’t the only person from the music world who reacted to the attempted assassination of Trump. CNN anchor Wolf Blitzer got called out by a colleague on the network for talking about how “both sides” should cool their political rhetoric in the immediate aftermath of a shooting at Saturday’s Trump rally in Pennsylvania. Footage of the incident showed former President Donald Trump ducking behind his podium before being escorted away by Secret Service with blood on his ear. He raised his fist in the air several times as he left. The Trump campaign released a statement shortly after the shooting saying the former president was “fine and is being checked out at a local medical facility.” Trump himself later released a statement saying he was shot in the ear. A suspected shooter was “neutralized” by U.S. Secret Service personnel, according to the Secret Service. The Secret Service added that one spectator was killed and two others were “critically injured.” Later in the evening, Blitzer went back and forth with CNN pundit Scott Jennings, who was a special assistant to former President George W. Bush. “We have people in this country who are dedicated to telling half the country that if Donald Trump wins an election the country will end, the Constitution will go away, and so on and so forth,” Jennings said. It’s got to stop.” Blitzer countered that Trump has also spoken “very strongly” against President Joe Biden. “But we’re also hearing from Trump very, very strong statements of condemnation of Biden, ‘the worst president,’ ‘the most dangerous president,’ and all of that,” Blitzer responded. “He’s speaking very, very strongly against President Biden.” “Who’s in the hospital?” Jennings shot back. “You say calm things down,” Blitzer said. “I agree both sides should calm down.” Later in the evening, Blitzer repeated his call saying, “Clearly the rhetoric on both sides has to calm down.” On CBS, anchor Margaret Brennan questioned why Trump had not asked his supporters not to retaliate after the shooting. A Democratic congressman’s field director said in a now-deleted social media post that she hopes the shooter in the attempted killing of President Donald Trump takes shooting lessons “so you don’t miss next time.” A screenshot of a now-deleted post made by Jacqueline Marsaw, the field director for Rep. Trump was rushed off the stage by Secret Service personnel as he pumped his fist and yelled, “Fight!” A suspected shooter was “neutralized” by U.S. Secret Service personnel, according to the Secret Service. The Secret Service added that one spectator was killed and two others were “critically injured.” Thompson, a Democrat from Mississippi’s Second Congressional District, is the ranking member of the House Committee on Homeland Security. He commented on the attempted assassination of former President Trump in a post on X which read “There is no room in American democracy for political violence. I am grateful for law enforcement’s fast response to this incident.” “I am glad the former President is safe, and my thoughts and prayers go out to everyone involved,” Thompson went on to say. Thompson previously attempted to strip Trump of Secret Service protection with a piece of legislation called “Denying Infinite Security and Government Resources Allocated toward Convicted and Extremely Dishonorable Former Protectees Act.” “This legislation would reform the U.S. Secret Service’s protective mission by automatically terminating Secret Service protection for those who have been sentenced to prison following conviction for a Federal or State felony,” a press release advertising the legislation reads. Neither Rep. Thompson nor the Mississippi Democratic Party have responded to a Daily Wire request for comment.

The photo was one of three photos that Mills captured of the exact moment that the shooting happened. The first photo showed the bullet whizzing past Trump’s ear while the second photo shows Trump grabbing his ear, a sign that the bullet hit him. Once Secret Service agents got him up, they were in the process of rushing him off stage when he stopped them so he could deliver a message. “Wait! Wait! Wait!” Trump said to the agents. Then looking at the thousands of supporters who showed up, he raised his fist and shouted: “Fight! Fight! Fight!” In a statement, the U.S. Secret Service said that “a suspected shooter fired multiple shots toward the stage from an elevated position outside of the rally venue.” “US Secret Service personnel neutralized the shooter, who is now deceased,” the statement said. “US Secret Service quickly responded with protective measures and the former president is safe and being evaluated. One spectator was killed, two spectators were critically injured. A CBS News anchor and a former counterterrorism official in the Biden administration condemned former President Donald Trump and Republicans in the wake of the shooting that left Trump wounded Saturday night. CBS anchor Margaret Brennan condemned Trump for insufficiently “lowering the temperature” in his statement following the shooting. “This was a traumatic event no doubt for him, but I did notice there was no call for lowering the temperature, condemning all political violence, and really trying to signal to his supporters as well not to retaliate or to have any kind of escalation here,” Brennan said while reporting on Trump’s statement. Brennan condemned “some Republican lawmakers” whom she said were “directly drawing the line between the shooter” and “some connection to the government.” Vinograd called it “frankly unpatriotic” for anyone to be “stoking the flames when we know that we are sitting on a cauldron of tensions.” “The counterterrorism officials and homeland security officials that I’ve spoken to in the last few hours are deeply concerned that this event will be used as a rallying cry to launch attacks against individuals associated with the Biden campaign and lead to broader domestic distress,” she said. “It is unpatriotic in the sense in that we know that this kind of rhetoric has a nexus to violence,” Vinograd added. “We saw that on Jan. 6, we saw that in the attack on Nancy Pelosi’s husband, and in multiple other instances.” On CBS, Margaret Brennan and Samantha Vinograd talk up "retaliatory violence" from right-wingers, and then we hear of January 6. She served as a senior advisor at the Biden Institute at the University of Delaware before joining the Department of Homeland Security. Today, several of the liberal outlets made the choice to display absolute degeneracy when covering former President Donald Trump’s attempted assassination in Pennsylvania. Now, not all of the left-leaning outlets did this. ABC News, CBS, NBC News, and others reported correctly, along with center, independent, and right-leaning sources, that Trump was shot and Secret Service removed him immediately. Yet, CNN and others decided to go in a different direction.  CNN wrote, “Secret Service rushes Trump off stage after he falls at rally.”  The Indy Star and other USA Today outlets said “Trump removed from stage by Secret Service after loud noises startles former president.”  The Washington Post wrote, “Trump taken away after loud noises at rally.” Very specific, that. Politico decided to kick it up a notch by writing, “Photo of bloodied Trump fist bumping immediately spotlighted by his allies.”  Newsweek wrote an incredible headline, that has since been deleted, “MAGA responds with outrage after Donald Trump injured at Pennsylvania rally.” Yes, that’s the story: conservatives pounce on the former president’s attempted assassination. Now, not to be outdone, Colorado Democrat and state representative Steve Wood decided now was the right time to tweet, “The last thing America needed was sympathy for the devil. But here we are.”  It turns out that spending eight years calling a man Hitler and the devil has disgusting consequences. And, as usual, the legacy media are complicit.
