Democrats in Congress are signaling that a growing number of their colleagues will publicly call on President Joe Biden to drop out of the 2024 race after his first TV interview following a poor debate performance failed to reassure them. Axios published a report on Saturday that cited unnamed lawmakers saying the handful of House Democrats who had already come forward urging Biden to end his bid would soon have company. “The drip drip is about to be more than that,” one anonymous lawmaker told the news outlet. A second lawmaker said, “We’ll certainly amp up the public pressure as needed.” The report also featured quotes from an unnamed House Democrat saying, “No one’s mind has been changed,” as well as, “a growing number of lawmakers agree “it’s time” for Biden to step aside and are “hoping to give him space to do this on his own.” A different House Democrat said Biden’s interview Friday on ABC News was “not impressive.” This unnamed lawmaker also predicted that Biden is “toast” in November if he stays in the race against former President Donald Trump. Yet another House Democrat claimed to be “shocked” at Biden’s “refusal to recognize reality” in terms of polling and his “failure to make an argument about why he wants a second term,” per the report from Axios. Biden, who spoke to “This Week” anchor and former Clinton flack George Stephanopoulos, insisted the only way he will end his re-election campaign is “if the Lord Almighty comes down and tells” him to quit. He also argued that polls showing him down in the race are off the mark. While some in Congress have been defending Biden, four House Democrats had publicly called on Biden to put an end to his campaign heading into Saturday. They included: Reps. Lloyd Doggett (D-TX), Raúl Grijalva (D-AZ), Seth Moulton (D-MA), and Mike Quigley (D-IL). Rep. Angie Craig (D-MN), the first hailing from a battleground state, joined them with the release of a statement on Saturday. Declaring there was “simply too much at stake to risk a second Donald Trump presidency,” Craig added that she “respectfully” called on Biden to “step aside as the Democratic nominee for a second term as President and allow for a new generation of leaders to step forward.”

Even the show’s hateful hosts cautioned Grisham’s tone, reminding everyone the conversation was just “fiction.” In 2022, an armed man was arrested for plotting to kill Supreme Court Justice Brett Kavanaugh. Nicholas John Roske had duct tape, pepper spray, a gun, a knife and zip ties with him at the time. He confessed he planned to kill Kavanaugh for ending Roe v. Wade.

The New York Post reported that a parody social media account called "Chief Rabbi of Gaza Linda Goldstein" has fooled another squad member, this time pro-Palestinian Rep. Cori Bush. The development came after Bush's reelection campaign considered a fundraiser with "Rabbi Linda Goldstein," which is a fake X account that deliberately posts anti-Israel sentiments to draw in those too ready to condemn the Jewish state.The report noted that the fake social media account had previously fooled Bush's ally Rep. Jamaal Bowman. The fake account reached out to Team Bush late last month, hoping to pitch a fundraising idea.'Cori Bush is the perfect example of an ’empty suit’ antisemite.– completely clueless about how the Israel-Palestine conflict works.'The fake account reached out to Ronika Moody, who is Bush's finance and engagement director, writing via email: "I’ve been bouncing around different cities since my congregation was displaced from Gaza after Israel’s invasion on October 7."“Also – would [Bush] travel to the Gaza border for the fundraiser? The optics could be incredible!”Moody appeared to endorse Goldstein's idea, writing back on June 27: “Cori is interested in hosting in Gaza and it’s something she has been trying to plan. Unfortunately, we have not been successful with that opportunity as of yet.”Moody went on to ask: "Theme [of the fundraiser] is Gaza?"Goldstein has made absurd claims on social media in the past, such as the claim that she had used a menorah made of missiles and dug terror tunnels into universities across the U.S. But this did not seem to register with Bush's campaign. Goldstein told Moody via email that the theme of the fundraiser could be "the theme" of intifada, according to the report.“The topics are built around finding a final solution to the problem of Zionism,” added Goldstein.
