A married couple buys a house along the Little Miami River in Loveland‚ Ohio. She soon starts to experience an unknown being on the property. Did the infamous Loveland Frogman return?I received the following account from a woman who had a strange experience while living in Loveland‚ Ohio:“We bought a little house down by the Loveland Castle Museum back in 2000. It was perched above a ravine and creek‚ and the back of the house dropped off very steeply. There would have been enough room for a man or a bipedal person to stand behind the house‚ but the basement windows were eye-level and the first floor was quite far up from the place where one could stand. The reason I point this out is that because it was a very small house‚ we had to use the basement for our two boys' bedroom. They kept complaining that "something" kept looking in the window at them and my husband and I laughed it off at first. It was a wooded setting‚ very rural and beautiful‚ and VERY DARK at night‚ having no streetlights out there. So it seemed funny that they were thinking something was watching them. We just told them maybe it was a deer (they are plentiful in the fall) and went about our business.One night‚ however‚ I woke up hearing a weird sound just outside our bedroom window on the first floor. It faced out back of the house‚ and I was puzzled as to what it could be because it sounded like a man‚ breathing heavily. I started to sit up and realized that whatever it was‚ it was looking in my window‚ just inches from my head and I was terrified. I did not look out because I knew that I would see it and I kept feeling something urging me to look. We often would hear squeaking noises‚ screeching (not like an owl)‚ and a crying baby. I woke my husband up and he said whatever it was‚ it would have had to be 10 feet tall to look in our window. I couldn't sleep that night‚ but whatever had been there had moved on. I didn't mention it to the kids the next day. The boys came up from the basement‚ shaken from seeing "the red‚ glowing eyes" the night before. They were every bit as big as red road reflectors and they heard heavy breathing and the hair on their bodies stood up on end.This was only ONE experience we had out there in Loveland. It's right down by the Little Miami River‚ only a stone's throw. Many weird things out there: green glows‚ orbs‚ something very large and black on top of the roof of the house very late at night (when light was shone on it‚ it did not go through whatever it was on the roof‚ and it looked like a huge‚ dark figure.) I'd like to know if you have any more weird stories about this area. We moved a few miles away but still go past that area often. CF”NOTE: I assume that C.F. was not aware of the ‘Loveland Frogman’ sightings. I probably need to describe the incidents.The 1st sighting was in May 1955‚ around 3:30 a.m. an unnamed businessman claimed that he witnessed three bipedal‚ quasi-reptilian entities congregating by the side of the road. Later on March 3rd‚ 1972‚ around 1:00 a.m. an anonymous police officer was traveling along Riverside Road heading towards Loveland when he came across a frog-like creature on the side of the road. A few weeks later on March 17‚ 1972‚ Officer Mark Mathews‚ reported pulling over to assist an injured animal on the side of the road. Upon approaching the creature Officer Mathews was startled by a strange Frogman-like creature.The story of the Loveland Frogmen begins on a barren stretch of road that runs along the Little Miami River in Clermont County‚ just on the outskirts of the small town of Loveland‚ Ohio. (This would probably be in the approximate area where C.F. lived). Around 3:30 a.m. in May of 1955‚ an unnamed businessman claimed to witness three bipedal quasi-reptilian creatures gathered at the side of the road. The businessman pulled over to the curb and observed the creatures for what he estimated to be about 3 minutes. He went on to describe the creatures as being between 3 and 4 feet tall‚ covered with leathery skin‚ and having webbed hands and feet.Perhaps the most distinguishing characteristic of these creatures however is their distinctly frog-like heads‚ which the businessman reported to have deep wrinkles where their hair should have been. As the anonymous businessman watched the three “frogmen” one of the creatures suddenly held up with the witness described as some kind of wand above its head‚ he further claimed that sparks spewed out of the top of the wand. Upon witnessing this strange site the businessman fled the scene fearing for his life.The next documented encounter with the ‘Loveland Frogmen’ occurred at approximately 1:00 a.m. on March 3‚ 1972‚ when a police officer‚ who chose to remain anonymous‚ was traveling down Riverside Road heading towards Loveland. The officer claimed that he was driving slowly‚ due to overly ice roads‚ when he saw what appeared to be a dog on the side of the road. Suddenly the creature darted out in front of the cruiser causing the officer to slam on the brakes to avoid hitting the unknown animal. When the cruiser came to a stop the headlights fell upon a crouched frog-like creature.Quickly the creature stood on two legs and stared back at the officer; its eyes illuminated by the high beams‚ and scrambled over the guard rail‚ down the embankment‚ and finally vanished into the Ohio River. The officer described the creature as being 3 or 4 feet tall and weighing in the area of 50 to 75 pounds. He also stated that the skin had a leathery texture and that the animal resembled that of a frog or lizard. Later that evening another officer returned to the scene but found no signs of the animal‚ but did report that there were distinctive scratch marks on the guard raid that the creature reportedly scrambled over.Another sighting by a police officer‚ Mark Mathews had an encounter of his own two weeks later. According to Officer Mathew’s report‚ he spotted what he believed to be an injured animal on the pavement while driving into Loveland. Mathews stepped out of his cruiser to remove the injured animal from the ice-slicked road. As Officer Mathews got closer to the body the creature lurched upwards into a crouched position. Startled by the strange creature's frog-like appearance‚ Mathews drew his gun and fired at the creature‚ wounded the “frog man” limped to the side of the road‚ and slid over the guard rail. Officer Mathew’s description of the frog-like creature matched that of the other officers sighting two weeks prior.Years after his original sighting‚ Officer Mathews has somewhat changed his story. He now claims that the creature he saw that night was nothing more than a large reptile that had escaped from its owner. He further insisted that the reason he shot at the creature was to help confirm a fellow officer’s story. Whether or not Mathews changed his story due to ridicule or a fading memory of an event that took place one dark night on an icy road outside of Loveland. A Lincolnshire‚ UK resident had a creepy experience with what he now knows to be the phenomenon known as the black-eyed people. He includes a sketch of one of the entities.I received the following account:"Back in the summer of 1997‚ I had a terrifying experience with what I now know to be the phenomenon known as the black-eyed people. At the time I had never heard of these beings and have been bothered by the experience for many years. It’s only just occurred to me to scour the internet to see if anyone else has ever witnessed anything like it as I knew that I couldn’t possibly be the only one that this has happened to.My encounter differs from any that I have now discovered so far as they were not trying to communicate with me but were rather trying to keep away from me! Believe me‚ I now know that that is a good thing. Also‚ it differs in the fact that my experience happened in broad daylight rather than late at night like the others I have read.It was a hot sunny summer day in 1997. I was about 15 at the time and was out with my friends. I live in a small town called Grantham in Lincolnshire in the UK. While out with my friends I was not far from my home and decided to go home to grab a quick drink and my two friends accompanied me down to my house and waited outside whilst I went in to have a drink of water. I was quite thirsty so quickly drank 2 pints of water and then went back outside. My friends had gone so I decided I would walk back to my friend's house which was around the other side of the block.As I walked up the path to the street I happened to look about 5 houses down where my mum's friend lived. At the front of her garden‚ she had a wooden fence at the time and a driveway on the furthest side of the garden there was also a wooden fence‚ and just behind it‚ there were two very large conifer trees that overhung the fence.So looking down the street I saw two people backed up to the fence and the top of them was pushed back into the overhanging conifers so I only saw the 2 pairs of legs. Thinking that these were my friends messing around with me I started walking down towards them.As I got closer to them I shouted out‚ “Come on you two‚ I can see you hiding there”. Thinking that they would come out laughing‚ I smiled to myself. But instead of coming out‚ they managed to jump up into the conifers‚ over the fence‚ and come out in my mum's friend's garden! (at this point I was thinking how they could have done this because the foliage on the trees was pretty thick).They didn’t stop there. They turned around towards the next garden and managed to climb over the 5-foot fence panel. As I watched them weirdly go over the panel I shouted again to stop messing around. I said that it was weird the way they got over the fence because it wasn’t a hop or a jump. I can only describe it as lizard-like! That’s the only way that comes to my mind to describe it.So I kept walking down the road and watched as they went over a 6ft gate into the next door's back garden. So I thought to myself I know what to do. I would carry on walking and catch them when they come out of the next garden. I picked up my pace carried on and caught sight of them in the next garden and stopped dead in my tracks as I looked in horror at what I’d been chasing!They stood a few feet away from each other. One looked like a teenager. He was wearing the fashion of the time which was a blue puffa jacket that was zipped up. He was wearing jogging bottoms that had studs up the legs which were called poppers. Trainers. And a baseball cap. I didn’t look at his face as the other one caught my attention nearly straight away.This one was much older. Very pale skin. The top of his head was completely bald but around the side of his head‚ he had long greasy black hair down to the middle of his back. He was wearing a long trench coat which went down to his ankles. He was wearing boots. His hands had long fingers that ended with sharp-looking dirty nails. He had a big hooked nose and his eyes were pure black. It looked so evil. As my eyes met him it felt like time had stood still. Nothing was moving. Not a leaf. No breeze. Nobody else in the street. Silence. I couldn’t move as I was paralyzed with fear and terror. I knew it was staring at me into my eyes - maybe into my soul. I stood rooted to the spot for what felt like hours but must have been maybe 5 minutes. I broke the eye contact turned and ran for what felt like my life back to my house.When I got indoors I sat down and cried like a big baby. I couldn’t console myself. It took me a while to compose myself and tell my parents what had happened. They didn’t know what to do. I sat down and drew what I had seen. I still have the drawing today. Not that I need it. That image is well and truly etched into my mind and I would probably draw the exact same one in another 30 years.I don’t know what this thing is. It definitely was not human. Over the years it has played on my mind bringing many questions and no answers. I thought it was either an alien or demon or any monster in between.Some of the questions it’s brought me apart from what is it. How did they climb the fence like they did? Why were they wearing large coats on a boiling hot day? After reading other accounts of them why were they out in the middle of the day on a normal street in a small town? Why did they run from me?I hope no one ever has the experience of these black-eyed beings and if you see one run for it.P.S. It turned out that my friends went straight back home when they left me. There has never been this much support for Texas independence

A major feature of the House Ways and Means Committee’s “tax bill” is an expansion of the child tax credit. This expansion was necessary to secure Democrats’ support for the corporate tax provisions in the bill‚ but the trade isn’t worth the cost. The welfare-related child tax credit provisions aren’t a minor extension of the Tax Cuts and Jobs Act of 2017‚ but a massive departure from the status quo. Together‚ they move the country in the wrong direction on welfare policy after years of pro-family‚ pro-work progress. The problems with the committee’s bill are many. It would increase welfare subsidies for single parents rather than further promoting and strengthening married‚ two-parent households. It would undermine rather than strengthen work requirements in welfare. It would increase‚ not reduce‚ fraud and excess benefits. It would provide more welfare to illegal immigrants. Fundamentally‚ this bill accepts the tenets of President Joe Biden’s welfare agenda and‚ if it is not stopped this time‚ will need to be fixed when the rest of the provisions of the Tax Cuts and Jobs Act expire in 2025.  Far from a program that incentivizes work and family formation‚ the Ways and Means Committee’s bill‚ by expanding so-called refundable child tax credits‚ would simply expand the traditionally flawed welfare state. The bill is based on the premise that more welfare money must be spent‚ primarily to subsidize single parents. Although the bill claims its aim is to provide “tax relief” to families with children‚ there is little “tax relief” in it for working families. Instead‚ over 90% of the “family benefits” would be new cash welfare payments to families who pay no federal income taxes and little or no Social Security tax. Nearly all family benefits in the bill are overt cash welfare payments‚ not “tax relief.”  If passed‚ the bill would greatly expand the Additional Child Tax Credit‚ which is a simple cash welfare benefit program that has nothing to do with taxes. The current ACTC program has a weak work requirement riddled with extensive fraud. The committee bill would deliberately weaken this already weak work requirement.  Under current law‚ parents ostensibly are required to work to obtain ACTC benefits; benefits increase as earnings increase. However‚ this work requirement is highly porous and readily evaded through fraud. In the current program‚ only 55% of benefits for single parents appear to go to eligible parents. Often‚ the custodial single parent will transfer eligibility for the benefit and the work requirement to relatives or other adults who don’t even live with the child.  The transferred benefit then is shared with the nonworking single parent. A work requirement that easily can be “transferred” to others is not a serious requirement. Regrettably‚ this bill takes an already porous‚ fraud-filled work requirement and would weaken it further by insisting that recipients need only work every other year instead of every year.   Another alarming aspect of the bill is its expansion of an existing problem: welfare payments targeted to illegal immigrants. Under current law‚ illegal immigrants who have children born in the U.S. (and many do) may claim cash welfare benefits from the ACTC. The committee bill would expand these cash welfare payments for millions of current illegal aliens and millions more who enter the country in the future—exacerbating a design flaw in the program.   The bill would substantially increase a means-tested welfare system that already costs over $1.2 trillion per year. Benefits in that system are already quite high. Under current law‚ for example‚ in 2023‚ a single mother with two school-age children earning $15‚000 per year also would receive $15‚476 in welfare benefits from the Earned Income Tax Credit‚ the Additional Child Tax Credit‚ and the food stamps and school nutrition programs. In addition‚ this family would be eligible for Medicaid coverage worth‚ on average‚ around $14‚950. Altogether‚ these standard welfare benefits would triple the parent’s income; total post-tax resources would come to around $44‚300. In addition‚ some (but not all) such families would receive Section 8 or other public housing aid worth around $10‚000‚ bringing total potential resources to around $54‚300. The Ways and Means Committee’s bill would add more cash welfare on top of this benefit pile. In this example‚ the single parent would receive an added $1‚875 in cash grants under the bill. This would bring the family’s total income to $46‚184‚ or $56‚184 if the family received housing aid. The problem isn’t simply the immediate benefit increase; rather‚ by camouflaging new welfare benefits as “tax relief” and failing to even hint at the welfare already received by its beneficiaries‚ the bill lays fertile ground for even more welfare expansions. A prominent goal of the Left is to remove work requirements from welfare and to restore the work-free‚ unconditional cash aid that existed before welfare reform.  Biden sought to advance this goal by creating a new “child allowance” that removed work requirements from the ACTC and greatly increased benefits. The Ways and Means Committee’s bill goes at least halfway toward fulfilling the president’s aims. The bill embraces the premises and goals of the Biden plan to greatly increase cash welfare payments (predominantly for single parents) while weakening or removing work requirements.  The bill sets the ground for a future “compromise” that would fully enact the Biden “child allowance” program. From this perspective‚ the committee’s bill represents an enormous political and policy victory for Biden.  The welfare portion of the bill directly and explicitly repudiates the principles of successful welfare reform‚ which have governed the welfare system since the mid-1990s. Welfare reform instituted in 1996 by a Republican-led Congress‚ with broad bipartisan support‚ established work requirements and time limits in the dominant welfare program: Aid to Families with Dependent Children‚ known as AFDC. Over 90% of recipients in this program were single-parent families. A principal aim of welfare reform was to halt the rapid and alarming disintegration of marriage. Family collapse had been steadily advancing for decades. Work requirements reduced the utility of being a single parent on welfare and raised the relative utility of being married to a working husband. As a result‚ the rapid decline in married families halted; non-marital teen births and abortions fell rapidly. Overall‚ there have been 10 million fewer abortions due to the changes initiated and promoted by welfare reform. Yet‚ the Ways and Means Committee’s bill would increase cash welfare subsidies to single parents relative to married families and weaken work requirements that predominantly affect single parents. It threatens family formation. Overall‚ the welfare portion of the bill would overturn the principles that conservatives have stood for in welfare and family policy for three decades. If enacted into law‚ it would be a major victory for the Left and a heavy blow for American families.  It also would be a big step backward on the road to reform of America’s broken welfare system. Republican senators met Wednesday with a group of parents to discuss the state of education in the U.S. and school systems affected by woke ideology and critical race theory. Sens. Tommy Tuberville and Katie Britt of Alabama joined Sens. Ted Budd of North Carolina‚ Eric Schmitt of Missouri‚ and Roger Marshall of Kansas at the listening session‚ led by Nicole Neily‚ president of Parents Defending Education‚ in the Dirksen Senate Office Building on Capitol Hill. Eighteen parents from a number of states around the country sat around the table on Capitol Hill‚ and several of them spoke up to thank the senators for their efforts to fight back against woke education. They voiced concerns about the effects of not just gender ideology‚ but also leftist ethnic studies programs‚ the influence of the Chinese Communist Party‚ and new burdens placed on school districts by the immigration crisis the U.S. faces. “One major issue is that parents want to know what is being taught. They want to be involved in this‚” Neily said. “Districts now maintain what we call parental exclusion policies. As of this week‚ we’ve identified almost 1‚100 school districts across the country … infecting almost 11 million children and saying parents do not have a right to know their child’s gender at school.” She subsequently added: “We’re also concerned about immigration. This is placing new burdens on districts as migrants pour across the southern border. Recently in New York‚ the James Madison High School was forced to go remote while migrants were moved into the school‚ while in Chicago‚ families are angry that residents are required to provide vaccination records to enroll their child in public schools‚ yet migrants are allowed to enroll without such documents.” One mother from California‚ Sonja Shaw‚ warned that ethnic studies is the next frontier for leftist activists‚ noting that in her state‚ ethnic studies are a requirement for graduating: “It’s a gateway for hatred. It’s a gateway to brainwash our children.” Another mother‚ Now Wai Wah from New York‚ addressed concerns from parents about the immigration crisis and how it is affecting both children and education. She said that she herself is an immigrant‚ adding‚ “A lot of the residents in New York happen to be immigrants‚ and we think that New York is a special place that can provide good education.” She expressed fears about the way that migrants are being allowed into the country‚ warning: “This is impacting New York‚ but not just New York. In New York‚ we know that it is going to cost another $13 billion or so to take care of what has become like a small city of illegal migrants.” Tuberville told the parents that when Republicans “take the Senate‚” they must “do more of this.” Sen. People ask‚ ‘How can we help?’ Run for school board‚ run for city council‚ run for county commission. Help your community. It doesn’t happen up here‚ folks. This is the facade. This is the icing on the cake. The cake is made in your neighborhoods. You control your neighborhoods; we don’t. Unfortunately‚ we hurt your neighborhoods‚ what goes on here.” Tuberville urged the parents to continue to let lawmakers know what is going on‚ predicting that the country is at a breaking point when it comes to education‚ as well as with regard to other issues. “They are the future‚” he said of the children in American education systems. “They are the No. 1 commodity that we have.
