Ted Cruz: ‘In A Very Real Sense’ Biden Has ‘Funded The Death Squads That Murdered Jews’

Sen. Ted Cruz (R-TX) slammed President Joe Biden this week for policies that he says have led directly to Jews being murdered by terrorists. Cruz made the remarks during an episode of his “Verdict” podcast with co-host Ben Ferguson while talking about new updates from Israel’s war against Hamas and the political impact that it’s had in the U.S. He said that the fallout of Hamas’ October 7 attack “somehow doesn’t seem to be very relevant to Joe Biden to the Democrats calculus” for the upcoming election. “When he came into the White House, they systematically attacked Israel, they also funneled over $100 billion to Iran, they funded Iran, they funded Hamas,” Cruz said in referring to Biden’s relaxing of sanctions enforcement against Iran. “Now, they funded Hamas, both through Iran, because 90% of Hamas funding comes from Iran. They funded Hezbollah through Iran, because 90% of Hezbollah’s funding comes from Iran, but they also sent hundreds of millions of dollars to Gaza, which they knew would go directly to Hamas and be used for terror killings, Joe Biden, which he somehow didn’t tell this to the college kids in the commencement address, in a very real sense, have funded the death squads that murdered Jews.” Cruz also took a shot at Senate Majority Leader Charles Schumer (D-NY), saying that he is “the second greatest friend Hamas and Hezbollah has ever had.” “And by the way, and historically, Schumer has always said, I’m an Israel guy,” Cruz said. “He’s defined himself as the defender of Israel. And he is right now defending Hamas and supporting Joe Biden and cutting off weapons to Israel. Like Chuck Schumer, the language and words he said for 30 years are all being turned on their head because Schumer, just like Biden, just like the rest of the Democrats is terrified of the radical left, that is their base.” WATCH: Joe Biden has undermined Israel for his entire career. He has allowed over $100 billion to flow to Iran, which has consistently supported Hamas. In a very real sense, Joe Biden funded the October 7th terrorist attack on Israel.https://t.co/px5RWQcVFs pic.twitter.com/j0DUMBSjkl — Ted Cruz (@tedcruz) May 20, 2024

‘We Need You’: Former ESPN Anchor Comes To Harrison Butker’s Defense, Calls Out Hypocrisy On Left Silent Over ‘Hateful’ Campus Protests

Former ESPN anchor Sage Steele came to Kansas City Chief’s kicker Harrison Butker’s defense following the kicker’s commencement speech that caused a leftist meltdown, blasting the silence from the left over “hateful” pro-Palestine campus protests with “death to Jews” calls. In a video posted on X, Steele said she couldn’t believe the attacks against the placekicker over his speech to the graduates at Benedictine College — when he praised his wife for being a “homemaker,” called out President Joe Biden’s support for abortion, and criticized LGBTQ “Pride month.” “I am so saddened at the criticism that has come this man’s way just because he voiced his opinion,” Steele said. “Doesn’t mean you have to agree with everything he said, right. Diversity of thought.” “I’ve been preaching that since long before I left ESPN and I will never stop preaching it because that is what’s right,” she added, noting that she didn’t agree with “every single thing Butker said.” Harrison Butker….please don’t change. ?? #diversityofthought@buttkicker7 pic.twitter.com/jx0MDEsQhi — Sage Steele (@sagesteele) May 19, 2024 “I know women, women who are close friends of mine, who actually are quite content in life without having kids, whether it was their specific choice, they didn’t want to become a mother or they couldn’t and are now at peace with it…” Steele continued. “For me that would not have been the case. And I am so grateful and blessed that I am a mother times three. And that by far is my best accomplishment and something I’m most proud of. The best job I’ll ever, have being a mother.” Steele then asked why it was acceptable to judge one person based on his opinion, calling “so many parts of [Butker’s speech] beautiful” and blasting the NFL for releasing a statement affirming that, as an organization — one that represents thousands of people — it didn’t “align with” Butker’s views. “How cool is it as a woman to hear your spouse praise you and have such gratitude towards you?” the former sports anchor said. “That’s a beautiful thing. Isn’t that pro woman? That’s the way I took it.” “I’m just saddened at all of the negativity that surrounds him,” she added. “And how about the hypocrisy. Where were all these people on college campuses over the last couple of months…if you are hateful towards others and doing [calls] ‘death to Jews’ and being threatening towards Jewish people. Where were all of you with your statements then denouncing the pure hatred?” “Instead you are denouncing a man who is uplifting women?” Steele continued. “I just don’t get it. Harrison Butker has a right to believe what he wants to believe. Harrison Butker thank you for your courage. Don’t change. We need you.”  Related: ‘This Is Total B.S.’: Sage Steele Slams ‘Hypocrisy’ Of Left Pushing ‘Diversity And Tolerance’ During Interview With Ben Shapiro

Biden Education Department Shared Activists’ Memo on Mobilizing Dem-Leaning Voters

Biden administration officials circulated and discussed a memo authored by a coalition of liberal groups aimed at getting more college students to participate in elections as part of the Education Department’s presidentially ordered voter-registration efforts, newly surfaced emails show. Groups that donated millions to elect Democrats and are funded by major liberal donors submitted a list of recommendations to the Education Department in 2021 outlining ways the department could get college students, a historically liberal demographic, to vote more, according to emails obtained by The Heritage Foundation’s Oversight Project. [Heritage founded The Daily Signal in 2014.] The memo recommended that the Education Department include a voter registration option on its college financial aid application, use resources to make students aware of vote-by-mail opportunities, and allow universities to use federal work-study to pay students for nonpartisan election work. The coalition of groups sent its memo in response to President Joe Biden’s 2021 executive order directing federal agencies to promote voter registration, education, and participation, offering recommendations on how to implement it. Nick Lee, deputy assistant secretary for higher education, shared the memo with Annmarie Weisman, another deputy assistant secretary, and Gregory Martin, another department official, emails show. Lee explained to Weisman and Martin that he had been discussing ways to implement Biden’s executive order with an Education Department policy director and that he was willing to speak further on the topic. Lee also shared the memo with members of the Education Department’s Office of the General Counsel, again explaining that the department was in the process of finalizing responses to Biden’s voting executive order, emails show. The Biden administration may have been receptive to at least one of the recommendations the coalition of left-of-center groups offered. In April 2022, the Education Department clarified that universities could pay students with federal work-study funds to engage in election-related work. Although students may be compensated for voter registration work, they cannot be paid using federal funds “for work involving partisan or nonpartisan political activity, including party-affiliated voter registration activities, as this is expressly prohibited,” the department said. In February, the Education Department expanded on the specific work that federal funds could cover, stating that “supporting broad-based get-out-the-vote activities, voter registration, providing voter assistance at a polling place or through a voter hotline or serving as a poll worker” were all acceptable. Although Biden’s executive order stresses that agencies should tap “nonpartisan third-party organizations” to aid with voter registration efforts, the effects of registering more college students to vote could be a boon for the Democratic Party. A September 2020 poll found that 70% of college students said they would vote for Biden in that year’s election, compared to just 18% who said they would vote for then-President Donald Trump. Strong turnout among college students in 2022 helped Democrats pull off a better-than-expected midterm election performance, NPR reported. Heading into the November presidential election, Biden’s reelection campaign is seeking to mobilize college students. The president held a 23-point lead over Trump among college students heading into the election, according to a Harvard Institute of Politics poll conducted in March. The groups that sought to push the Education Department to mobilize more college voters themselves have ties to the Democratic Party. The American Federation of Teachers and the National Education Association, for instance, are both signatories of the memo and have spent millions of dollars to help elect Democrats through their political action committees, Federal Election Commission records show. Both groups endorsed Biden in the 2024 Democratic primary season and historically have supported the Democratic Party. New America Foundation, which signed on to the memo through its education program, has received extensive support from the Soros family’s philanthropic network, pulling in millions since 2016, according to a grant database. George Soros himself has donated massive sums to Democrats and is one of the largest figures in the left-of-center philanthropic world. The Voter Participation Center, another group that signed on to the memo, has received over $1 million from nonprofits managed by Arabella Advisors, tax filings show.  Arabella Advisors is a consultancy firm that manages a network of nonprofits that spend millions every year on efforts to help liberal groups and Democrats. The Voter Participation Center on its website claims to work diligently to mobilize members of the “New American Majority,” which includes people of color and unmarried women, to register to vote and cast ballots. Republicans have taken issue with the Biden administration’s approach to using federal resources to juice voter participation. “We have concerns about the lack of constitutional and statutory authority for federal agencies to engage in any activity outside the agency’s authorized mission, including federal voting access and registration activities,” a May 13 letter from the House Oversight Committee sent to Office of Management and Budget Director Shalanda Young reads. The Education Department, New America, the Voter Participation Center, the National Education Association, and the American Federation of Teachers didn’t immediately respond to the Daily Caller News Foundation’s requests for comment. PBS's Washington Week Sees Dangerous GOP, Is Sad Hunter Trial May Make Joe Unhappy

It was a livelier-than-usual roundtable on Friday’s Washington Week with The Atlantic, as the import of former President Trump’s polling strength in the face of multiple trials seemed to be causing panic among the press corps. Moderator Jeffrey Goldberg led the feisty journalists in the discussion, including Laura Barrón-López of PBS NewsHour, Eugene Daniels of Politico, Susan Glasser of The New Yorker, and Steve Inskeep of National Public Radio. Susan Glasser of The New Yorker suggested it was only Republican members of Congress who were "play to the crowd" and "the cameras": Institutions are unraveling, not just the institution of the U.S. Congress, in fact, you see the Trumpification arguably of the Senate Republican conference, where the traditions have held up across-aisle-civililty much stronger until more recently. I think that this is, we’ll talk more about the Supreme Court, we’re seeing not only the hyper-politicization of our institutions but a kind of constant playing to the crowd, to the cameras, to the social media, and Marjorie Taylor Greene is a very effective example of this strand of our politics. It’s not going to go away.”     Glasser found it tacky for Congressional Republicans to travel to New York to support Donald Trump on trial. Then she really went low: GLASSER: ….not only is it Trump's party, but they even dress up like Donald Trump now. And that was something that -- for me, that is a visual marker, in some ways, of just what the decline of the Republican Party has been in many ways into a kind of a cult of personality, right? So, it's not only that the Republican Party is going to have as their nominee, someone who might well be convicted of felony crimes, who's even essentially acknowledged already in a court of law to be a sexual assaulter. GOLDBERG: He is a civilly adjudicated sexual offender? GLASSER: Yes. You know, this is a phrase that you used and I thought it was really notable. I don't think it's broken through to most people, a civilly adjudicated sexual offender is going to be the third time in a row the nominee of the Republican Party, and here they are dressing up like him. Meanwhile, Democratic President Bill Clinton paid Paula Jones $850,000 to settle a sexual harassment lawsuit while president in 1998. He spoke to the 2000 Democratic National Convention as president and at every convention since then, so he’s not yet a party pariah, not even after the #MeToo era. As for dressing up in solidarity for a cause, surely Glasser recalled the Democratic leadership dressing and kneeling wearing kente cloth to support police-reform legislation after the killing of George Floyd. She can read her own magazine for some pungent criticism of the stunt. Eugene Daniels of Politico was worried that average people weren’t as scared of Trump as the smart journalists who were paying attention, harping on a tweet from Congressman Matt Gaetz (R-FL) in support of Trump: “Standing back and standing by, Mr. President”: DANIELS: …the folks that are paying attention right now are were all kind of nervous about it, but the American people really aren't making those kinds of connections, right? When you talk to the American people, they say Congress is broken versus the Republican Party is, you know, all going on the Acela up to New York to dress the same, to defend Donald Trump, to do all the things he can't do, and also to wink and nod to the most dangerous aspects of the Republican Party, the most dangerous aspects of the Trump base, that, hey, we may need you to do something here. And this would be hyperbolic if the insurrection hadn't happened on January 6th…. GOLDBERG: Steve [Inskeep], I just want to ask you to switch subjects to another trial that is coming next month -- the Hunter Biden trial, gun possession. Now, Hunter Biden is not running for president, there is a big difference. But the question is, how is this going to affect the mood and happiness and effectiveness of Joe Biden? Hmm. WAs that really the big question? There was no speculation or even a hint regarding President Biden’s own possible culpability, even though the president was allegedly heavily intertwined with his son Hunter’s financial mis-dealings. For journalists, it’s always only about the president’s personal anguish of seeing his son on trial. Inskeep also kept the issue on a personal, not legal, level for the President: “…he’s gonna take it personally because he takes this personally.” Goldberg somberly stated: “He's a father and it’s gonna affect him.”

Disney’s 'Dr. Who' goes LGBTQ with cast of gender bending characters

It only took around four minutes for the first transgender character to show up in Disney’s new "Dr. Who" series — and viewers are overwhelmingly not pleased. “Not only were we very quickly presented as viewers with a trans singer, but for some reason, the show’s writers also thought it would be appropriate and fun to portray this iteration of the Doctor as someone who, you know, likes to get down at gay dance clubs,” Lauren Chen comments. The Doctor is also wearing a skirt in the opening scene. “Him and the costume director have been very clear that he actually wanted to gender-bend the Doctor’s wardrobe in this series for some reason,” Chen says. While the gayification of the series is undeniably a massive reason for the negative feedback, the show itself isn’t written well enough to make up for it. “This shows attempt at providing fantastical yet sciency-seeming premises for these outrageous events to occur,” Chen explains is “failing awfully.” The show predictably has a whopping 97% critic rating on Rotten Tomatoes — but only a 36% audience rating. “Because of course, it’s new, it’s gay, it’s black. That must make it wonderful,” Chen says, noting that one of the show's main villains is also a drag queen who used to be on "RuPaul’s Drag Race." “I get that Russell T. Davies wants to be inclusive and affirming of LGBT people, but really I think it’s gotten to the point now where 'Dr. Who' just exists as a platform for him to expose the audience to diverse elements,” she adds.
