Climate initiatives laid out in President Joe Biden’s Inflation Reduction Act (IRA) come with a bigger price tag than anticipated: over $400 billion more‚ per the latest estimates.  The Congressional Budget Office (CBO) revealed the increased $428 billion cost in its budget and economic outlook for the next decade. The agency admitted that its projections were subject to change‚ citing variables such as the pace of deployment and use of low-emissions technologies and electric vehicles‚ as well as the number of taxpayers who have yet to claim certain tax credits enacted in the IRA.  “The budgetary effects of energy-related tax provisions remain highly uncertain‚” stated CBO.  The CBO originally estimated in 2022 that the IRA’s climate and energy provisions would cost around $400 billion. However‚ other corporations and organizations said that number was far too low.  Shortly after CBO issued its estimate‚ the global investment banking company Credit Suisse estimated the climate initiatives would cost over $800 billion. That number is closer to CBO’s most recent estimate.  Other recent‚ outside estimates have been higher. An August report from the University of Pennsylvania Wharton School of Business predicted that the IRA’s climate and energy provisions would cost taxpayers over $1 trillion. The CBO explained that technical revisions resulted in the substantially higher projections‚ most of which ($224 billion) arose from clean vehicle tax credits and revenues from excise taxes on gasoline. Of that total‚ $151 billion came from reductions in projected revenues and $73 billion came from increases in projected outlays.  Much of the higher projections came from the Environmental Protection Agency (EPA) proposal last year to impose more stringent vehicle emissions standards beginning with the 2027 model year.  CLICK HERE TO GET THE DAILYWIRE+ APP The CBO further noted that Treasury guidance determined that credits claimed by businesses for leased vehicles weren’t subject to restrictions applied to credits claimed directly by individuals‚ such as a buyer’s income‚ eligible vehicle pricing‚ critical mineral sourcing locations‚ battery component manufacturer locations‚ and final vehicle assembly locations.  “Dealers and buyers have responded to that guidance by leasing more electric vehicles than [the Joint Committee on Taxation] anticipated when preparing its 2022 estimates‚” said CBO.  Apart from the cost of Biden’s climate initiatives‚ the CBO report didn’t lend a positive outlook for the nation’s economy. The CBO projected that the nation’s deficit would steadily mount‚ reaching $2.6 trillion in 2034 from $1.6 trillion in this fiscal year. In relation to GDP‚ the deficit is projected to reach 6.1% in 2034. The CBO said that these deficit levels were similar to those experienced during some of the greatest national crises. “Since the Great Depression‚ deficits have exceeded that level only during and shortly after World War II‚ the 2007-2009 financial crisis‚ and the coronavirus pandemic‚” read the report.  Debt held by the public would increase to 116% of GDP by 2034 ($48.3 trillion) and would continue to grow to 172% of GDP in 2054‚ up from the 99% projected at the end of this year ($26.2 trillion).  According to the CBO‚ that 2034 estimate would mark an all-time historical high for the nation‚ a record reached due to increases in mandatory spending and interest costs outpacing declines in discretionary spending as well as revenue and economic growth.

A forensic pathologist hired by Epstein’s family has pushed back on that conclusion‚ saying some of the evidence supports homicide. Sampson has publicly refuted that claim‚ saying she stands “firmly” behind her findings. Mark Epstein said that he initially had no reason to doubt the official cause of death given by Sampson. “I had no reason to doubt it‚” Mark Epstein said. “He didn’t have any children. Our parents are gone. He would know he didn’t have to worry about me. … so‚ I respected that as his decision.” Mark Epstein said that when he met with medical examiners in New York City‚ they told him that they could not call it a suicide “because it looked too much like a homicide.” He continued‚ “So‚ then the questions became if he didn’t commit suicide‚ then he was killed‚ and then who killed him? After finding a bear cub abandoned in the wild‚ rescuers are searching for a foster mother to take them in. This little critter‚ affectionately dubbed “Bits‚” was very young when their birth mom disappeared. In fact‚ they hadn’t even opened their eyes yet! Thankfully‚ Appalachian Bear Rescue stepped in to help the tiny cub. Experts believe that something scared Mom away from the den. While they track down a new mother for Bits‚ they’re treating the baby animal in the ICU. Unfortunately‚ rehoming the bear cub will involve more than simply dropping them off at the nearest den. This process will require research and‚ surprisingly‚ a bit of deception! First‚ wildlife officials will have to locate a new mom who has recently given birth. They’ll do this with the help of the University of Tennessee and the National Park Service. Next‚ they’ll have to sneak Bits into the potential foster mother’s den and make her believe the extra bear cub is one of her own! Matt says that a such a small bear cub should be raised by a foster mother rather than human caregivers. Christopher Ward is a photographer and filmmaker. He has been living in Ireland for 15 years but hails originally from South Africa. He photographs and films beautiful wedding portfolios. But some of his best work involves street portraits of random strangers he meets. The idea of walking up to strangers isn’t new or particularly unique. Many photography students use the practice to hone their craft. Christopher Ward calls his project Model Strangers. You never know what you’re going to get when you walk up to a total stranger and ask to take a street portrait. Such was the case when Chris approached Irene in Belfast‚ Northern Ireland. Irene is a well-dressed older lady with a unique style. Christopher mentioned her very nice fashion sense. She yanked off her purple gloves‚ remarking that she was annoyed with them because they contrasted with the rest of her outfit. Images from Instagram. With a quick laugh‚ Chris assured her that the gloves were amazing and that a little bit of contrast was good. Irene pulled out her gloves and put them back on. Then she asked if she was going to be a famous model. Yes‚ Irene‚ you are now a famous model. And an absolutely adorable human! During the photoshoot‚ as he clicked image after image‚ Chris asked general questions about his subject. He asked Irene what makes her happy. Her answer was “knowing if I can just help somebody get through a day a little better. That’s worthwhile.” Images from Instagram. Model Strangers Is An Amazing Look At Human Nature Irene elaborated on her career. She is a retired language teacher who taught French and German. She expressed some distress that she has been unable to learn Italian‚ even after studying for years and years. Then‚ she asked Chris some questions about linguistics. He admitted to speaking a little bit of Afrikaans and Zulu from growing up in South Africa. Irene mentioned she is heading there on a cruise soon. One of the big questions Chris asked is‚ “What has love taught you over the years?” Irene made a face but didn’t hesitate much with her answer‚ “Love has taught me not to be too idealistic. I’ve learned to accept human nature with all its flaws and to be compassionate‚ you know?” Images from Instagram. Florida Gov. Ron DeSantis criticized "senile" President Joe Biden's handling of classified documents during a new interview with BlazeTV host Mark Levin. The Republican governor also verbalized what everyone is thinking in regards to President Biden's memory concerns. Levin began the "Life‚ Liberty &; Levin" interview with DeSantis by highlighting recent mental gaffes committed by Biden. Levin pointed out how Biden confused Egyptian President Abdel Fattah el-Sisi as "the president of Mexico" during a Thursday press conference where the president was attempting to refute assertions that he is suffering from memory loss. Speaking about the report from Justice Department Special Counsel Robert Hur that painted Biden as a "well-meaning‚ elderly man with a poor memory‚" Levin noted that the report is "damning" for the president. Levin asked DeSantis‚ "What do you make of this where a guy like this doesn't even have to face the issue of whether he should be prosecuted constitutionally‚ as a sitting president‚ but on the other hand‚ they throw everything imaginable Donald Trump‚ even in the other case‚ the Klan Act‚ and the Enron Act and all the rest.
