New Reports Reveal Five Eyes’ Surge in Biometric Data Collection

If you're tired of censorship and dystopian threats against civil liberties, subscribe to Reclaim The Net. Big Brother might be always “watching you” – but guess what, five (pairs) of eyes sound better than one. Especially when you’re a group of countries out to do mass surveillance across different jurisdictions, and incidentally or not, name yourself by picking one from the “dystopian baby names” list. But then again, those “eyes” might be so many and so ambitious in their surveillance bid, that they end up criss-crossed, not serving their citizens well at all. And so, the Five Eyes, (US, Canada, Australia, New Zealand, UK) – an intelligence alliance, brought together by (former) colonial and language ties that bind – has been collecting no less than 100 times more biometric data – including demographics and other information concerning non-citizens – over the last 3 years, since about 2011. That’s according to reports, which basically tell you – if you’re a Five Eye national or visit out of the UN’s remaining 188 member countries – expect to be under thorough, including biometric, surveillance. The program is (perhaps misleadingly?) known as the “Migration 5,” (‘Known to One, Known to All” is reportedly the slogan. It sounds cringe, but also, given the promise of the Five Eyes – turns out, other than sounding embarrassing, it actually is.) And at least as far as the news now surfacing about it, it was none other than “junior partner” New Zealand that gave momentum to reports about the situation. The overall idea is to keep a close, including a biometric, eye on the cross-border movement within the Five Eye member countries. How that works for the US, with its own liberal immigration policy, is anybody’s guess at this point. But it does seem like legitimate travelers, with legitimate citizenship outside – and even inside – the “Five Eyes” might get caught up in this particular net the most. “Day after day, people lined up at the United States Consulate, anxiously waiting, clutching the myriad documents they need to work or study in America,” a report from New Zealand said. “They’ve sent in their applications, given up their personal details, their social media handles, their photos, and evidence of their reason for visiting. They press their fingerprints on to a machine to be digitally recorded.” The overall “data hunger” between the 5 of these post WW2 – now “criss-crossed” – eyes has been described as rising to 8 million biometric checks over the past years. “The UK now says it may reach the point where it checks everyone it can with its Migration 5 partners,” says one report. TikTok Shuts Down Ads for Bold Feminist Sportswear Brand

If you're tired of censorship and dystopian threats against civil liberties, subscribe to Reclaim The Net. TikTok has issued a permanent advertising ban on XX-XY Athletics, a feminist sportswear brand that also advocates for the protection of women-only sports. XX-XY Athletics, launched by former Levi’s executive Jennifer Sey, champions the cause of maintaining sex-based divisions in sports, prioritizing safety and fairness for female athletes. The ad features a group of women and girls who call for courage in upholding “reality.” Jennifer Sey revealed through a post on the platform X that TikTok had sent her a notification stating her account was banned from advertising due to non-compliance with their policies. The notification, a blend of automated and human moderation efforts, did not specify the exact nature of the offense but labeled the content as potentially offensive. “Your account has been permanently suspended because it does not comply with our advertising policies,” the message from TikTok detailed. The brand features sportswear items and graphic tees with slogans like “Team Women” and “Save Women’s Sports.” The advert that caused the ban: https://video.reclaimthenet.org/articles/JenniferSey-1803154775833453130.mp4 If you're tired of censorship and dystopian threats against civil liberties, subscribe to Reclaim The Net. The Shores Of Titan’s Lakes Appear To Be Shaped By Waves

The Shores Of Titan’s Lakes Appear To Be Shaped By Waves

The lakes of liquid methane and ethane on Titan have shorelines that appear to have been shaped by waves on those hydrocarbon lakes, new evidence suggests, potentially settling an old argument. It could also shape the forthcoming mission to Saturn’s giant moon. When it comes to finding a world we can study for its resemblance to the early Earth, the best the Solar System has to offer is not another planet, but a moon. Titan is the only moon we know of with a substantial atmosphere, and one that is more similar to Earth’s than the wispy near-nothings of Mars or the boiling acidic hell of Venus. That atmospheric pressure allows lakes and seas of molecules that are liquid far below the freezing point of water, fed by rivers from hydrocarbon rains on higher ground. All these features created great excitement around the time the Voyager missions went past, but interest faded, other than around the time the Huygens probe touched down, as smaller moons took the spotlight. Now, as NASA prepares for the Dragonfly mission to explore Titan, the focus is swinging back, and planetary scientists want to know what to expect in order to tweak Dragonfly’s plans. As part of that process, MIT’s Professor Taylor Perron has sought to answer the question of whether large waves develop on Titan’s lakes, something that would have many important implications. Past investigations have produced conflicting answers.Perron and colleagues looked at the way waves erode the boundaries of large lakes on Earth, and compared this to images sent by Cassini of the outlines of Titan’s largest lakes. They acknowledge their results are not definitive – after all, Cassini only made flybys of Titan while orbiting Saturn, so the resolution of its images was not as good as we would like.“We can say, based on our results, that if the coastlines of Titan’s seas have eroded, waves are the most likely culprit,” Perron said in a statement. “If we could stand at the edge of one of Titan’s seas, we might see waves of liquid methane and ethane lapping on the shore and crashing on the coasts during storms. And they would be capable of eroding the material that the coast is made of.”Establishing the existence of waves has implications far beyond the shorelines. The occasional meteorite may trigger waves when landing in a lake, but such events would be even rarer on Titan than on Earth. Waves frequent enough to erode shorelines would be a sign of strong winds.First author of the paper reporting the findings, Rose Palermo, noted that efforts to see if waves occur had looked at Cassini’s images of the lakes themselves, trying to assess if they were still or choppy.“Some people who tried to see evidence for waves didn’t see any, and said, ‘These seas are mirror-smooth,’” Palermo said. “Others said they did see some roughness on the liquid surface but weren’t sure if waves caused it.” Besides the challenge of making these images out, we know Earth’s largest lakes can go from calm to storm so fast they seem enchanted. An absence of waves at any one time is hardly conclusive. If the work of Palermo, Perron, and co-authors is confirmed, it would allow us to improve models both of Titan’s atmosphere and how the lakes and seas move. Ideally, we might be able to determine how large a lake on Titan needs to be to develop shore-eroding waves, and whether winds and waves are stronger at certain latitudes, as they are on Earth.                 The team first sought to determine whether the shores were eroded at all, modeling their evolution from flooded river valleys. The next question was whether the erosion looked more like what would be created by waves or other processes, using what we know about Earth's lakes as a comparison point.A comparison of Titan's largest "sea" as viewed by Cassini with Lake Superior at the same scale.Image credit: NASA/JPL-Caltech/GSFCTo simulate wave-driven erosion, the authors needed to know wave height, which they modeled using what is known as “fetch”, which truly does happen, being the distance wind can blow unobstructed over water or another liquid.“Wave erosion is driven by the height and angle of the wave,” Palermo explains. “We used fetch to approximate wave height because the bigger the fetch, the longer the distance over which wind can blow and waves can grow.”The areas around four of Titan’s largest liquid bodies, comparable in size to North America’s Great Lakes, were then compared with these models.“We found that if the coastlines have eroded, their shapes are more consistent with erosion by waves than by uniform erosion or no erosion at all,” said Perron.“We had the same starting shorelines, and we saw that you get a really different final shape under uniform erosion versus wave erosion,” Perron added. “They all kind of look like the flying spaghetti monster because of the flooded river valleys, but the two types of erosion produce very different endpoints.”Now the quest is on to calculate the strength and direction of the winds required to create such erosion. We do space research because curiosity is natural to humans, but it can sometimes reveal unexpected benefits at home. By exploring how erosion occurs in the absence of humans, Palermo thinks we may learn how to better protect Earthly coastlines from damage. The study is published in Science Advances.

From Great Orators to Gobbledygook

Once in America – and in some parts of the world – we were gifted by great orators, men and women who could by the power and content of their words inspire, motivate and sometimes unify their nations. Today, we have politicians who mumble, slur their words, repeat themselves and in other ways make no sense. They neither inspire, nor unite. I don’t just mean President Biden and Vice President Kamala Harris, who recently added to her list of non sequiturs by saying community banks are good because “they’re in the community.” One of the articulate members in the Biden administration is Jared Bernstein, c hair of the president’s economic group. One sees him on TV spinning bad economic numbers, attempting to demonstrate that “Bidenomics” is working, despite visible evidence it is not. Still, he appears confident and speaks in complete sentences. Sometimes. In a recent social media interview, Bernstein was flummoxed trying to answer a simple question that anyone with a minimal knowledge of economics should know. His answer also exposes the phoniness many feel is projected from Washington instead of honest answers that give the public confidence that our leaders know what they are doing. What follows is a transcript of the exchange. Bernstein begins by saying the government can’t go bankrupt “because we can print our own money.” Interviewer: “It obviously begs the question: why exactly are we borrowing in a currency that we print ourselves…?” Bernstein (after a long pause): “Well, um, the uh, I mean, again, some of this stuff gets … some of the language that the … some of the language and concepts are just confused. The government definitely prints money and it definitely lends that money which is why the government definitely prints money and then lends that money by selling bonds. Is that what they do?” (seems confused).“ They, they um, they yeah, they, they sell bonds, they sell bonds, right, so they sell bonds and people buy the bonds and lend them the money, yeah.” (seeming more confident about his disconnected answer).“ So, so, a lot of times, a lot of times at least to my …” (unintelligible) … “the language and the concepts these concepts can be have unnecessarily confusing, but there is no question that the government prints money and uses that money to, um, uh, uh, so um, yeah I guess I’m just .. I … I can’t really.” (unintelligible) “I don’t get it. I don’t know what they’re talking about ‘cause, it’s like … the government clearly prints money. It does it all the time and it clearly borrows, otherwise you wouldn’t be having this debt and deficit conversation, so I don’t think there is anything confusing there.” Got that? Given our $34 trillion national debt, the refusal of Congress to cut anything, and demands by the administration to raise taxes on “the rich” and corporations, Bernstein’s stream of consciousness performance does not instill confidence that these people are capable of putting our economy back on the right track. China and Saudi Arabia have pulled back on the amount of U.S. debt they are buying. I asked financial adviser Ric Edelman what effect this might have. He responded: “ It could cause our interest rates to rise. But any such attempt would likely fail, partly because they really have nowhere else to go and because of the rise in stablecoins, which are already the ninth largest holder of U.S. debt and growing fast.” Still, no nation in history has been able to survive with such massive debt. Add to that the fact that Social Security and Medicare will soon run out of money unless reforms are made, an open border and the refusal by many to accept a shared moral value system and you have what happened to Rome and other empires that went from prosperity to decline, to the dustbin of history. Nothing in history indicates the U.S. can escape a similar fate if we don’t change our ways. Heed the warning of Thomas Jefferson: “… to preserve their independence, we must not let our rulers load us with perpetual debt.”

Megachurch pastor confesses to ‘inappropriate sexual behavior’ with a MINOR

Megachurch Pastor Robert Morris has stepped down from his position at Gateway Church in Southlake, Texas, after a horrific confession. In his own words, Morris admitted to engaging in “inappropriate sexual behavior with a young lady.” However, that “young lady” was only 12 years old at the time. The accuser, Cindy Clemishire, revealed in a post on the church watchdog site the Wartburg Watch what Morris had done to her in 1982. Clemishire is now 54. “I want you to pay close attention to what he said, that he has confessed to ‘inappropriate sexual behavior with a young lady.’ So, that implies that this was some kind of consensual interaction with a woman, but that’s not what went on,” Allie Beth Stuckey says, disturbed. Morris also claimed that he had stepped down from his prior position in 1987 for a time of counseling and was forgiven before being restored to the ministry. According to Clemishire, the first time she was assaulted by Morris was when he was 21 years old and a married traveling evangelist with a young son. The abuse lasted over four years. Morris — who had befriended her family — had allegedly asked her to lie down on her back one night, before he proceeded to touch her inappropriately. The sexual misconduct had escalated to digital rape over the years, before he attempted to have sex with her on multiple occasions. Clemishire had originally attempted to sue Morris in 2005, when Pastor Morris’ attorney implied that it was her fault for being “flirtatious.” They then offered her $25,000 if she signed a nondisclosure agreement, but she refused. “He may have turned away from that and may have never done that again, maybe,” Stuckey says. "That would be extremely unique when it comes to these stories of pedophilic molestation. Like that would be extremely, extremely, unique.” “I hope that is true. I hope that there are no other victims. It may be true that he turned around after that from that sin and he never committed that sin again, please God I hope that is true,” she continues, adding, “However, real repentance in this case would have included justice under the law.” Want more from Allie Beth Stuckey? To enjoy more of Allie’s upbeat and in-depth coverage of culture, news, and theology from a Christian, conservative perspective, subscribe to BlazeTV — the largest multi-platform network of voices who love America, defend the Constitution, and live the American dream.

Man who claims to be woman wanted for double homicide, remains on the loose

A man suspected of shooting two people to death in southern Utah earlier this week remains on the loose, police say.Around 7 p.m. on Tuesday, police received a report that shots had been fired inside a house on E. Chinook Dr. in Washington, Utah, just a few miles northeast of St. George. Officers were able to gain access to the residence easily as the front door was ajar when they got there. In a department statement posted to Facebook, Klotz described Bailey as a 'transgender male transitioning to female.' Then during an interview with St. George News, he repeatedly used female pronouns in reference to Bailey.Once inside, the cops made a horrific discovery: two adults, one male and one female, lying dead from apparent gunshot wounds. Officers attempted unsuccessfully to render medical assistance. The identities of the victims have not been released, though ABC4 described them as "a couple."There were no other individuals inside the home at the time. However, cops found evidence that the two deceased were victims of "a homicide," said Lt. Kory Klotz of the Washington Police Department.Police do have a suspect in this case: 28-year-old Collin Troy Bailey, a biological man who masquerades as a female and goes by the name Mia Bailey. Any connection between Bailey and the victims is unknown, and police did not reveal why they believe Bailey may have been involved in their untimely deaths.Bailey also remains at large, having fled the area in a bright yellow Kia Soul with Utah license plate UO69GF. Bailey is described as 5'10" and just 130 lbs. with brown hair, though Klotz noted that Bailey frequently wears different wigs. The suspect may also be carrying a small-caliber handgun, Klotz warned. So, anyone who spots Bailey or his vehicle should immediately call police and not attempt to engage, he said.In a department statement posted to Facebook, Klotz, described as a public information officer, described Bailey as a "transgender male transitioning to female." Then during an interview with St. George News, he repeatedly used female pronouns in reference to Bailey."Her whereabouts are unknown," Klotz said. "She is considered armed and dangerous."The Facebook post indicated that Bailey may still be in Washington County, Utah. Even with a possible murderer on the loose, "There are no threats to the general public," the post insisted. The case remains under investigation.Anyone with information about Bailey should notify Washington Police at (435) 986-1515 or simply dial 911.Like Blaze News? Mexican cartel worked with US-based group linked to Chinese underground banking to launder drug money: DOJ

The Department of Justice announced Tuesday that a five-year investigation revealed that a Mexican cartel worked with a United States-based group linked to Chinese underground banking to launder drug trafficking money.A press release from the DOJ stated that "Operation Fortune Runner" uncovered that a money laundering network connected to the Sinaloa drug cartel coordinated with a money transmitting group based in San Gabriel Valley, California, to process "large amounts of drug proceeds in U.S. currency in the Los Angeles area." According to federal authorities, the California-based group has ties to Chinese underground banking.'A partnership between Sinaloa Cartel associates and a Chinese criminal syndicate operating in Los Angeles and China.'The groups allegedly concealed the proceeds and made the funds available to the cartel's members in Mexico and elsewhere."The Justice Department today announced a 10-count superseding indictment charging Los Angeles-based associates of Mexico's Sinaloa drug cartel with conspiring with money-laundering groups linked to Chinese underground banking to launder drug trafficking proceeds. During the conspiracy, more than $50 million in drug proceeds flowed between the Sinaloa Cartel associates and Chinese underground money exchanges," the DOJ's press release read.Chinese and Mexican law enforcement agencies arrested fugitives named in the DOJ's superseding indictment after they fled the U.S., the department stated. Twenty-four defendants are facing multiple charges, including "one count of conspiracy to aid and abet the distribution of cocaine and methamphetamine, one count of conspiracy to launder monetary instruments, and one count of conspiracy to operate an unlicensed money transmitting business," the department reported.Edgar Joel Martinez-Reyes, 45, of East Los Angeles, was accused of using numerous strategies to conceal the money's source, including trade-based money laundering schemes, "structuring" assets, and cryptocurrency. The investigation resulted in the seizure of roughly $5 million in illicit drug proceeds, 302 pounds of cocaine, 92 pounds of methamphetamine, 3,000 Ecstasy pills, 44 pounds of psilocybin, ketamine, three rifles, and eight handguns. U.S. Attorney Martin Estrada for the Central District of California stated, "Dangerous drugs like fentanyl and methamphetamine are destroying people's lives but drug traffickers only care about their profits.""To protect our community, therefore, it is essential that we go after the sophisticated, international criminal syndicates that launder the drug money," Estrada continued. "As this indictment and our international actions show, we will be dogged in our pursuit of all those who facilitate destruction in our country and make sure they are held accountable for their actions."Drug Enforcement Administration administrator Anne Milgram explained that Mexican drug cartels are motivated by money and "responsible for the worst drug crisis in American history.""This DEA investigation uncovered a partnership between Sinaloa Cartel associates and a Chinese criminal syndicate operating in Los Angeles and China to launder drug money. Laundering drug money gives the Sinaloa Cartel the means to produce and import their deadly poison into the United States," Milgram added.Like Blaze News?
