Calls for Death: The View’s 9 Most Heated Hateful Moments of 2023

If you find yourself on the same side as the cast members of ABC’s The View‚ they will bend over backwards to defend you (as NewsBusters’ 2023 retrospective showed). But if you find yourself opposing them‚ they will launch some of the most racist‚ bigoted‚ and hateful attacks on television against you. They will even support your death. And as tensions in America ratcheted up in 2023‚ so did their naked hatred. Their contempt for Republicans‚ pro-lifers‚ and white people flared on air often. So it was difficult to narrow things down. Presented here are The View’s nine most heated hateful moments of 2023. UPDATE: Jane Fonda Offers Final Solution to Pro-Lifers‚ ‘Murder’ Them Without a doubt‚ the most hateful moment from the show in 2023 was when leftist extremist Jane Fonda offered up a final solution to the pro-life problem: “Murder” them. A suggestion that didn’t get any opposition from the cast: JOY BEHAR: Besides marching and protesting‚ what else do you suggest? FONDA: Well‚ it does involve murder. The View: ‘God’s Will’ Pro-Lifers DIE Rather than Get Cancer Treatment Pro-lifers were apparently a particularly painful thorn in the side of The View. They again were the target of their death wishes in early December when co-host Sara Haines (who claims she used to want to be a minister) smeared them as hypocrites for seeking out cancer treatments because it’s “God’s will” they die: Because if we’re going to argue about life in‚ then let's be honest about life out. Don't go to the hospital if you're hurting because it is God's will. Like‚ I don't like the inconsistencies and the hypocrisy when people weaponize religion on this issue.     Joy Behar: East Palestine Got What They Deserved for Voting Trump If the first two instances weren’t enough to convince you of The View’s hatred for the lives of conservatives‚ consider their contempt for the people of East Palestine‚ Ohio‚ whose town was poisoned by a train derailment. According to co-host Joy Behar‚ they got what they deserved because they voted for former President Trump. “By the way‚ he placed someone with deep ties to the chemical industry in charge of the EPA’s chemical safety office. That's who you voted for‚ in that district. Donald Trump‚ who reduces all safety‚” she sneered at them. Sunny Hostin Decries Judging a Person’s Character‚ Not Skin Color The next few moments in this list featured co-host Sunny Hostin‚ arguably one of the most staunchly racist and anti-Semitic people on television. And during Martin Luther King Jr. Day‚ she decried that people would listen to his words and judge people on their character and not their skin. “I think the biggest problem with Martin Luther King Jr.'s legacy is that people misinterpret his legacy. They misinterpret what he was asking for‚” she whined. “while we always hear this‚ I want my little girls and boys to be judged by the content of their character and not the color of their skin‚ that's all you ever hear anyone saying.” The View: ALL White People 'Continue to Reap the Benefits' of Slavery Hostin has repeatedly flaunted her racism against white people and perhaps the most distilled incidents occurred in July when she insisted that all white people “continue to reap the benefits” of slavery. “So‚ don't sit here and tell me one side of the story that black people may have had an enhancement when white people really benefitted the most and continue to do so today‚” she sneered in reaction to lies about Florida’s history standards about race and slavery. “I believe that's what they're trying to hide.”     Racist Hostin: The Problem With Gun Owners Is ‘White’ Skin‚ Fox News Ignoring the fact that the first gun control laws in America were enacted out of racism‚ Hostin’s contempt for the Second Amendment was also influenced by her racism. According to her‚ the problem with gun owners in America was that they’re white and watch Fox News: [W]e know that America is the only country in the world that has more guns than people and those guns are owned by about 30 percent of the population…And largely they're men and they're largely white men. And I think what you are seeing happening is that people are being radicalized by Fox News‚ they're being radicalized by other right-wing media‚ and they’re being taught to fear people that don't look like them. 7.     Anti-Semitic Hostin Defends Calls for Jewish Genocide on College Campuses Hostin’s bigotry also extended to anti-Semitism‚ which was really put on display following the Hamas terrorist attacks on October 7. She has suggested that the Israeli people brought the attacks on themselves and that they were the ones who were committing war crimes‚ not Hamas terrorists. She even defended calls for Jewish genocide on her son’s college campus of Harvard. “And although many may feel uncomfortable about it‚ the most hateful and heinous speech is the most protected speech‚” she said. Racist Whoopi: White People Need Beatings Before Police Reform The racist comments weren’t just limited to Hostin. Ahead of Black History Month‚ moderator Whoopi Goldberg suggested that white people needed beatings for police reform could happen. “Seems things don't seem to make sense to people unless it's somebody they can feel or they can recognize. But how many times do we have to – do you we need to see white people also get beaten before anybody will do anything?” she proclaimed before trying to walk it back. Joy Behar: Tim Scott‚ Clarence Thomas Clueless on Being Black in America Black conservatives are the recipients of a particularly potent venom from The View because they don’t fall into their accepted stereotypes. And few things say racist like a white woman telling black conservatives they don’t know what it’s like to be black. That was the case in 2023 when Behar lashed out at Senator Tim Scott (R-SC) and Justice Clarence Thomas: And he's one of these guys‚ you know‚ he’s like Clarence Thomas‚ black Republican‚ who believes in pull yourself by your bootstraps‚ rather than‚ to me‚ understanding the systemic racism that African Americans face in this country and other minorities. He doesn't get it. Neither does Clarence.

Report: BBC Feeds Viewers a 'Diet of Woke Bias' in News and Dramas

The Daily Telegraph of London reports that a group called the Campaign for Common Sense is offering new research demonstrating a "woke bias" at state-run British Broadcasting Corporation‚ despite rules about maintaining impartiality. It comes two years after BBC director general Tim Davie launched a 10-point plan to ensure impartiality. Start with slavery: As of September‚ the BBC News website had featured 55 separate stories about slavery and reparations for slavery and Britain's links to the transatlantic slave trade‚ appearing at a rate of more than one a week to that point in the year. Stories ranged from “How a flood led family to discover slavery link” to “Jamaicans call for Gladstone slavery reparations”. In January‚ the long-running soap opera Waterloo Road featured a plot involving students in open revolt over their school’s links to the transatlantic slave trade. "The episode opens with a girl scrawling the word 'racist'  across a plaque of her school’s 19th-century founder. Students are later depicted holding banners saying 'students against slavery'‚ and throwing red paint to symbolize the blood of slaves." The BBC also came under criticism in January for referring to the explorer Sir Francis Drake as a “16th-century slave trader”. BBC London News was forced to amend its online article and delete a tweet on it after a backlash. The research also revealed how contested gender issues also featured in BBC news and drama with what the Campaign described as a “woke world view” driving the output. In February‚ BBC Radio 4’s PM program was forced to apologize for having two transgender activist guests who branded Harry Potter author J.K. Rowling "transphobic" without any opposing view. The Left despises allowing any dissent from LGBTQ orthodoxy. In June‚ the medical drama Casualty came under fire for promoting breast amputation -- “top surgery” -- before 9 pm‚ what they call "pre-watershed." The episode featured Arin Smethurst‚ a non-binary trans actor playing the character Sah‚ expressing happiness her amputation has been scheduled. "For now at least‚ I'm just happy that I'll finally look like the person I feel like on the inside." Other characters shared their happiness and approval.  The Independent published an official BBC attempt at a rebuttal:  A spokesperson for the BBC responded to the accusations‚ arguing that “cherry-picking a handful of examples or highlighting genuine mistakes in thousands of hours of output does not constitute analysis and is not a true representation of BBC content”. “We are proud that our output seeks to represent all audiences and a range of stories and perspectives‚” they continued. “Across the entirety of our services there will‚ of course‚ be occasions when people disagree with or want to challenge what they have watched or heard and we have well publicised routes for them to do that.” Readers of NewsBusters know we laugh especially hard at newscasters complaining about "cherry-picking" examples‚ since news organizations "cherry pick" quotes and facts all day‚ every day.

'Homophobia or bigotry or hate speak': Marvel Comics exec responds to fan backlash against upcoming X-Men project

Marvel Comics executive and editor Tom Brevoort pushed back on fans who predicted an upcoming "X-Men" project would be a disappointment‚ warning them that he won't interact with anyone who is homophobic‚ bigoted‚ or engaging in "hate speak."The executive also affirmed that the premise behind the upcoming series would also be "the message."Brevoort posted an image on his X account that simply showed "X-Men from the Ashes" and added "July 2024" as an assumed release window. The image was accompanied by the caption "Start the clock …"Many of the responses from fans showcased their disdain for the modern works of Marvel."Why is Marvel deliberately tanking the comic industry?" one user replied."Unless Marvel cleans house...ridding themselves of the current writers‚ majority of artists and editors...it will be nothing but a countdown to more failure. The industry hasn't admitted the problem yet...until then‚ nothing will change‚" another fan theorized.Others simply said "it'll suck‚" while another said the writers have already "broken" the characters "for good."Many comments focused on what has been perceived as a very woke direction for the comics. Predictions like a male character being "too masculine" or the inclusion of pronouns were plentiful. Brevoort later reposted the image and declared that he would not engage with what he determined to be bigotry."Well‚ this X-Men graphic sure brought people out in force‚" the editor said in response. "One reminder that I thought wouldn’t be necessary: express whatever opinion you like‚ but if you show up with homophobia or bigotry or hate speak of any sort‚ it’ll be an instant block‚" he said."How about you tell a good story and stop shoving the message down our throats?" a fan said in response to the new post."It’s X-Men. The message is the premise‚" Brevoort replied.According to Bounding into Comics‚ "the message" alludes to the idea that X-Men was created as an allegory for the 1960s American civil rights movement‚ which the outlet called a popular yet false belief. Well‚ this X-Men graphic sure brought people out in force. One reminder that I thought wouldn\xe2\x80\x99t be necessary: express whatever opinion you like‚ but if you show up with homophobia or bigotry or hate speak of any sort‚ it\xe2\x80\x99ll be an instant block. — (@) Brevoort previously came back at a fan in October 2022 over complaints about comics being too "woke.""Can you please cut all the woke s*** outta your plots? Thanks‚" a fan wrote on X in response to a new comic."I’m curious. Which 'woke s***' would that be?" Brevoort replied."Lots of examples…how about homo Superman for starters?" the fan then explained.Brevoort then noted that he would have pointed out that Superman becoming a gay character was at the hands of DC Comics‚ not Marvel‚ but then said he didn't want to engage with blatant "intolerance and homophobia." @SamuelTrautman_ @DanSlott I might have actually pointed out that that\xe2\x80\x99s the other guys‚ but this sort of blatant intolerance and homophobia is an automatic block. — (@) Marvel has received criticism in a year rife with failures‚ such as the rumored gender-swap of the beloved Silver Surfer character that surfaced in late November 2023. Meanwhile industry veterans like Chuck Dixon have been particularly critical of the direction of the once-adored medium.Dixon had previously said that modern comics are "literally shaming the reader" with their messaging and reinforced in December 2023 that the comic book industry has seemed clueless in its attempts to win fans back."They think third-wave feminist comic book stories are going to bring girls back to read; no‚ no they’re not."Brevoort did not respond to Blaze News' request for comment. Florida woman arrested on Christmas Eve for smashing man's car for refusing to pay for 'sexual favors': Deputies

A bizarre scene unfolded on Christmas Eve when a Florida woman was arrested for smashing a man's car for refusing to pay for "sexual favors‚" according to local police. Haniffa Hosein was arrested and charged with criminal mischief on Sunday afternoon in Minneola‚ Florida. The curious situation reportedly unfolded on the 100 block of E. Washington Street – where police were dispatched for a criminal mischief complaint.Police said Hosein engaged in an argument with a man – who told responding deputies with the Lake County Sheriff's Office that Hosein was "involved in an argument with him for no reason."However‚ Hosein maintained that the dispute was over a disagreement regarding payment for sexual acts. The argument escalated to the point that the 23-year-old woman reportedly smashed the man's car with a bottle. The man claimed that Hosein became infuriated and exited the vehicle. However‚ she allegedly forgot her cell phone in his car. The Florida man is accused of throwing Hosein's cell phone out of the car window‚ which sent the woman into a rage. According to WOFL: "When deputies spoke with Hosein‚ she said she hit the taillight with a bottle because 'she was angry that (the man) did not want to pay her the money that he owes her in return for a sexual favor since (he) was not satisfied with the way she had performed‚' the arrest affidavit said."The arrest affidavit said that the attack left the man's taillight smashed. The man is demanding that Hosein pay for the damages to his vehicle‚ which would allegedly cost approximately $400. Hosein said that she and the man had a relationship in the past but have not been together in more than a year‚ according to deputies. Police officers placed Hosein under arrest‚ and the young woman was taken to the Lake County Jail. Hosein has reportedly since been released after posting $1‚000 bond. Like Blaze News? Social media giants made $11 billion in ad revenue from US children: Study

Social media giants raked in $11 billion in advertising revenue from children based in the United States‚ a Harvard-led study recently found.A study released Wednesday from the Harvard T.H. Chan School of Public Health revealed that Facebook‚ Instagram‚ Snapchat‚ TikTok‚ YouTube‚ and X‚ formerly Twitter‚ generated billions of dollars in ad revenue in 2022 from American minors and youth.“This study aimed to estimate the number of U.S.-based child (0–12 years old) and adolescent (13–17 years old) users and the annual advertising revenue generated from youth across six major platforms‚” the study explained. In 2022‚ nearly 50 million minors used YouTube‚ 7 million used X‚ and 9.9 million used Facebook. Approximately 18 million were on Instagram‚ Snapchat‚ and TikTok.“The greatest advertising revenue profits derived children ages 0–12 years old was from YouTube ($959.1 million)‚ followed by Instagram ($801.1 million) and Facebook ($137.2 million). Among youth ages 13–17 years old‚ the greatest estimated advertising revenue was generated on Instagram ($4 billion)‚ TikTok ($2 billion)‚ and YouTube ($1.2 billion)‚” the study revealed. The report stated that youth-generated ad revenue accounted for 41.4% of Snapchat’s entire 2022 ad revenue‚ 35% of TikTok’s‚ 27% of YouTube’s‚ 16% of Instagram’s‚ 1.9% of Facebook’s‚ and 2% of X’s. Across the social media platforms‚ approximately $2.1 billion of ad revenue was generated by children 12 years old and younger‚ while roughly $8.6 billion was generated by youth between 13 and 17 years old‚ the report claimed. It contended that the federal government’s efforts to protect children online have “largely failed” due to “substantial resistance” from social media giants.“Our findings underscore the financial incentive for platforms to oppose government efforts to protect youth‚” the report noted.“We undertook this study to inform health researchers and policymakers about how much revenue is generated from youth users and how many children and adolescents actively use the major social media platforms‚ with a goal to inspire greater data transparency and political will to protect young people online. Our estimates suggest that social media platforms derive considerable profits from youth users‚ emphasizing the need for greater transparency and regulation of their practices to ameliorate potential harms to youth mental health‚” it concluded.Bryan Austin‚ senior author and professor with Harvard’s Department of Social and Behavior Sciences‚ stated‚ “As concerns about youth mental health grow‚ more and more policymakers are trying to introduce legislation to curtail social media platform practices that may drive depression‚ anxiety‚ and disordered eating in young people.”“Although social media platforms may claim that they can self-regulate their practices to reduce the harms to young people‚ they have yet to do so‚ and our study suggests they have overwhelming financial incentives to continue to delay taking meaningful steps to protect children‚” Austin added.Meta‚ Google‚ Snapchat‚ X‚ and TikTok did not respond to a request for comment from the Daily Caller News Foundation.Like Blaze News? 'I didn't bow down to the medical industrial complex': Aaron Rodgers hits back at 'puppet' journalists who still attack him

NFL quarterback Aaron Rodgers spoke out against journalists who criticized him for a taking up a roster spot on his team‚ the New York Jets‚ despite being injured. The four-time NFL MVP also alleged that journalists who continually criticize him are often the same ones who took issue with his stance against the COVID-19 vaccine.Pro Football Talk creator and editor in chief Mike Florio is an example of a journalist who may have jumped the gun on Rodgers' roster spot controversy. On December 20‚ 2023‚ Florio wrote that "Rodgers’s desire to be on the practice field cost a teammate his job.""To make room for Rodgers on the 53-man roster‚ the Jets waived veteran fullback Nick Bawden. If Rodgers didn’t want to keep practicing‚ the Jets wouldn’t have had to release a player‚" Florio claimed. Bawden was later re-signed‚ with Rodgers stating that his preference was to remain on the injured list‚ but he was overruled by management."The same people who are criticizing me or coming up with these conspiracies about my injury‚ before they talk‚ let's go back to 2021 and let's make people say their vax status to start‚" Rodgers told former NFL punter Pat McAfee on "The Pat McAfee Show.""That'll frame all these comments in the right window. ... Let's have them say‚ 'Hey‚ I'm so-and-so‚ double vaxxed with Pfizer and triple boosted. And my opinion about this is this guy's a bad guy because he just wanted to practice and took money away.' Then at least you'd know‚ and everybody could know at that point that they have their puppet masters who are puppeteering them to say this certain thing about this guy and that they're still upset about the fact that I believe in medical freedom. So it's the same tired narrative." — (@) At least one journalist took Rodgers up on his offer. Fox Sports 1 commentator Nick Wright declared he has two COVID-19 vaccinations but no boosters and said that criticisms of the Super Bowl champion were not because of his vaccine status but rather his attitude."Aaron Rodgers is the most disingenuous athlete of my lifetime‚" Wright said. The analyst went on to say that Rodgers had been disingenuous about his potential retirement‚ as well as about his vaccine status when he openly stated that he had been "immunized."Rodgers reasserted to McAfee‚ however‚ that journalists are still mad that he didn't bow down to the medical establishment."They're still mad I'm covid MVP. Not just the two MVP's that I won but also I didn't bow down to the medical industrial complex and the mass formation psychosis and I decided to make a decision that was in the best interest of my health‚" Rodgers explained. "They're still trying to get their jabs in. Have another jab while you're at it." Aaron Rodgers dropped 'Mass Formation Psychosis' on ESPN \xf0\x9f\xa4\xa3\n"They're still mad I'm covid MVP. Not just the two MVP's that I won but also: I didn't bow down to the Medical Industrial Complex and the Mass Formation Psychosis and I decided to make a decision that was in the best\xe2\x80\xa6 — (@) "I don't know if they'll do that‚" McAfee replied. "What'd you say‚ 'mass formation psychosis?'" he then asked."Yeah‚ that's a good one‚ look that one up‚" Rodgers jokingly clarified.Like Blaze News? Father shoots male accused of severely beating his daughter‚ cops say: 'It’s hard to blame a parent'

A southwestern Illinois father shot a male accused of severely beating his daughter earlier this week‚ police said. What are the details?A woman who had been severely beaten showed up at her parents’ home around 2:30 a.m. Tuesday‚ KTVI-TV reported.Wood River police told the station the woman’s father tracked down the man accused of harming his daughter and shot him in the middle of a street. The shooting took place off North 6th Street by Lewis and Clark Junior High School‚ police added to KTVI. As it happens‚ the two men shot each other‚ police told the station. Both were transported to St. Louis-area hospitals — one by ambulance and one by helicopter‚ police said. Wood River is about a half-hour north of St. Louis.More from KTVI:FOX 2 spoke with neighbors off camera who said they witnessed the shooting. One neighbor said that after he heard a pop‚ he stepped outside and saw the older man standing over the younger one‚ pointing a gun at him. He heard the younger man beg the older man not to shoot him‚ followed by the older man saying‚ “That’s my daughter! She means everything to me!”After that‚ he said he watched as the older man shot the younger one and then waited for police to arrive. He said the older man did not appear severely injured from his vantage point‚ while he heard the younger man screaming in pain.Police have not released the names of two men and haven't said if either has been charged‚ the station said‚ adding that police intend to turn over the case to the Madison County state’s attorney once the investigation is over.'It's hard to blame a parent'Longtime resident Mildred Rulo told the station the incident isn't an everyday thing in Wood River.“My thought is‚ 'I’m just glad they knew each other‚'” Rulo noted to KTVI.She added to the station that she still feels safe in the area: "If I thought someone was going around the neighborhood shooting people just for the fun of it‚ I would have been sure the doors was locked. And I’d be more careful about who I opened the door to."Another resident sympathized with the dad but thought things went too far‚ KTVI said“It’s hard to blame a parent‚" Dawn Howard noted to the station. "There’s five girls in our family‚ and I can see all of our dads going after a guy. But with a gun? No. Beat him up; don’t shoot him.” Details on Wood River‚ Illinois double shooting emerge youtu.be Like Blaze News? Scientists catch culprit behind serial seal decapitations in the act

Decapitated seals have been turning up along North American coastlines for several years. Some experts have suggested humans were to blame for sea lions‚ harbor seal pups‚ and various other pinnipeds losing their heads. One private investigator went so far as to suggest the "cuts were surgical." It turns out that canids‚ not beachfront butchers‚ were to blame. What's the background? Private investigator David Stuart was among the beachgoers to express concern in 2016 about the discovery of headless seals and ponder their fate. After coming across one such decapitated mammal on Garry Point Park beach in British Columbia‚ Stuart told Richmond News that the incision was extremely clean‚ "almost laser precision." "The seal's rectum has been removed and cauterized; it makes no sense‚" continued Stuart. "This was a crime scene as far as I was concerned; this needed to be looked at." Years later‚ after numerous other incidents were reported on the West Coast‚ 21 headless seals turned up on the other side of the continent‚ along the shores of Nova Scotia‚ Canada. Mammal zoologist Dr. Anna Hall‚ who noted a similar trend was impacting sea lions in British Columbia‚ suggested humans might have been responsible‚ reported the National Post. "The carcasses have a distinct similarity to them‚" said Hall. "While we can't say definitely that the seals on the East Coast have been decapitated by human efforts‚ it does seem that is a distinct possibility looking at the photographs." Marine mammal biologist Tonya Wimmer alternatively suspected scavengers were to blame‚ stating‚ "From the images and information we've received‚ many of the holes are where the umbilicus would have been and is likely scavenging by other animals." Caught in the act Sarah Grimes‚ a stranding coordinator at the Noyo Center for Marine Science in Mendocino County‚ California‚ long speculated about the cause of the headless wonders. "It was so gruesome‚" she recently told the Mercury News regarding the headless harbor seals she encountered along the high-tide line in MacKerricher State Park‚ near Fort Bragg. "I was like marine mammal CSI‚ seeing all the dead pups with their heads torn off‚ and I'm like‚ 'What the heck did that?'" Frankie Gerraty‚ a Ph.D. student at UC Santa Cruz‚ ultimately provided Grimes with an answer‚ capturing the culprit on tape in MacKerricher. "We set up camera traps and got one really solid video of a coyote dragging a harbor seal pup and beheading it‚" said Gerraty. "We are pretty confident there has been predation at four sites along the Northern California coast." The student noted that contrary to popular wisdom‚ coyotes — who have made a big comeback from having their numbers suppressed by farmers and ranchers for decades — are often beach dwellers. "Coyotes are underappreciated predators in shoreline ecosystems‚ and marine mammals are the largest and most calorically rich nutrient parcels in the ocean‚ and really anywhere in the world‚" said Gerraty. It's unclear both why coyotes only eat the heads and whether this behavior is altogether new. Gerraty told the Los Angeles Times‚ "My guess is that the brains are pretty nutritious compared to a lot of other seal parts. Blubber can be pretty hard to get through." The student indicated that the coyotes' hunting pattern is unlikely to have a substantial impact on seal populations but may prompt them to relocate where they give birth and "haul out."
