President Joe Biden didn’t wait long to use the adjective “convicted felon” when referring to Donald Trump, telling donors at an event on Monday that the former president is a larger “threat” now than he was four years ago, The New York Post reported. The Monday fundraising event at the home of former HBO CEO Richard Plepler in Greenwich, Connecticut, is the first time Biden has publicly called Trump a “convicted felon” after a Manhattan jury handed down a guilty verdict in Trump’s hush-money trial last Thursday. “For the first time in American history, a former president that is a convicted felon is now seeking the office of the presidency,” the president said, according to the Post. “But as disturbing as that is, more damaging is the all-out assault Donald Trump is making on the American system of justice,” Biden continued, adding, “Something snapped in him when he lost in 2020,” Biden said. “He can’t accept he lost and it is literally driving him crazy. The man accused of killing four women and dumping their bodies on Gilgo Beach in New York is expected to be charged with the murder of a fifth woman, according to multiple reports. The suspect, who is not being named by The Daily Wire, is expected to be arraigned on the new charge on Thursday, NBC New York reported, citing sources familiar with the investigation. The Suffolk district attorney’s office confirmed the court date with the outlet but didn’t specify the charge, and the sources didn’t say which victim it involved. The suspect’s attorney, Michael Brown, declined to comment on the reports to NBC, but said his client maintains his innocence. Vess Mitev, who is representing the suspect’s two adult children, doesn’t know what the district attorney will say on Thursday. “Just like the rest of us, we’re waiting to hear what the district attorney has to say,” Mitev said, according to NBC. “My clients, again, they’re going to take it day-by-day, minute-by-minute, hour-by-hour as the landscape shifts around them.” He added that his clients haven’t returned to the family home since police conducted a new search and that they stand by their father, no matter the charges. “If it’s one or 100, they are allegations and they are eager [to] have the legal process play itself out. The theory is based on the fact that the suspect’s family was out of town during the murders, suggesting he may have lured the victims to his home, a source involved in the investigation told the outlet. Four bodies were found within days of each other. The body of Barthelemy was found on December 11, 2010, during a police training exercise with a K9, according to a bail application obtained by the Daily Beast. Two days later, police searched the area and discovered the three other bodies. If convicted, the suspect faces multiple life sentences without the possibility of parole.
