Meet The Bailiff From ‘JUDGED,’ And Find Out His Trick For Making Judge Walsh Laugh

“JUDGED by Matt Walsh” has become a defining moment for The Daily Wire for a couple of reasons. First and foremost, the Honorable Judge Walsh is excellent at cutting through the drama to get to the heart of each frivolous case, handing down verdicts with the wisdom of Solomon.  The series is like nothing else on DailyWire+. Silly, yet serious. Savage, yet entertaining. Surprising, yet relatable.   Judge Walsh sitting on the bench of justice and banging his gavel at every chance is undoubtedly the highlight of each episode. But there is one supporting character that audiences want to know more about: the bailiff. So many moments of brevity have come courtesy of the bailiff’s one-liners. The funniest thing about it is he’s never trying to be funny; he’s just being himself. We sat down with Kyler Finney, the “JUDGED” arm of the law, to discuss the wild moments, behind-the-scenes tidbits, and what it’s really like working with the inscrutable Judge Walsh. INTERVIEWER: What’s it like working with Matt Walsh? BAILIFF: It’s hard to make him laugh. INTERVIEWER: Have you tried to make him laugh? BAILIFF: Oh yeah, I’ve gotten him a couple times. He’s definitely Stonewall [Jackson].  INTERVIEWER: What’s the secret to getting Matt Walsh to laugh? BAILIFF: He likes being tickled. That, and calling him a silly goose. Gets him every time.  INTERVIEWER: How did you get the position of bailiff for the Honorable Judge Walsh? BAILIFF: Well, I served six years watching YouTube videos about being a bailiff. And then I went to three different army surplus stores and kind of got familiar with the equipment. INTERVIEWER: Sounds very qualified. BAILIFF: Oh, yeah. Definitely, definitely qualified. INTERVIEWER: Well, we know that Matt Walsh is the most qualified judge in America, so I’m assuming he wouldn’t hire someone who isn’t qualified. BAILIFF: Absolutely. I mean Matt Walsh is the most qualified to do his job. I actually got a fishing license and a concealed carry license, so I’m pretty qualified myself.  INTERVIEWER: The court hearings can get pretty crazy at points. Have you had to protect the judge from any crazy people yet?  BAILIFF: No. I think I do a good job at instilling fear and order in the courtroom. INTERVIEWER: Is that what you want to be known as: a person who instills fear? Or do you want to be known as someone who has fun? BAILIFF: I’m all about being silly, but I will do anything I can to protect Judge Matt. INTERVIEWER: What’s been the craziest conflict in the courtroom so far? BAILIFF: There were a couple instances where the plaintiff and the defendant got a little rowdy. But we were able to restore order in the court pretty quickly.  INTERVIEWER: Do you think people fear you more, or Judge Walsh more? BAILIFF: They should fear [Judge Walsh] more. …I’m the enforcer. I’m the muscle.  INTERVIEWER: In one episode, you start speaking Korean. Are you fluent in Korean? BAILIFF: Am I fluent? Yes, I am fluent in Korean. North and South.  INTERVIEWER: Are you fluent in any other languages? BAILIFF: I know Spanish and Pig Latin. Right now I’m learning Swahili.  INTERVIEWER: Why did you learn Korean? BAILIFF: They opened a Korean restaurant by my house. And I was having a hard time ordering so I decided to take on Korean so that it was easier. INTERVIEWER: Do you have any conflicts that you would take before Judge Walsh? BAILIFF: No, he’s already solved all my problems.  INTERVIEWER: What’s your relationship like with Judge Walsh? Do you talk in the back of the courtroom? BAILIFF: We have a pair of walkie-talkies that have a 100-mile radius. Whenever I’m within 100 miles of him, I ask if he can hear me. That’s how we keep our communication so it can’t be traced. INTERVIEWER: Does he chat a lot? BAILIFF: Over the walkie-talkies, yeah, but we don’t talk over the phone because people could be listening.  INTERVIEWER: What do you talk about? BAILIFF: Oh, different things… the weather, fishing, aliens. We talk about aliens all the time.  INTERVIEWER: Do you have any desire to go to another court, or do you think you’ve reached the pinnacle here? BAILIFF: I mean, there’s no other court to go to. Matt Walsh is the most qualified judge, probably in the world. And being a part of this court is a complete honor. I would do this over anything else. INTERVIEWER: What if I said you could be a Secret Service agent tomorrow for Donald Trump? BAILIFF: Yeah, I’d much rather be Matt Walsh’s bailiff.  Catch up on every episode of “JUDGED by Matt Walsh” exclusively on DailyWire+ and be sure to check out the finale airing next week. Top House Republicans Unpack ‘Three-Pronged’ Response To Prosecutions Against Trump

Leading House Republicans touted on Tuesday a “three-pronged” strategy to push back against the flurry of criminal cases against former President Donald Trump as he runs another campaign for the White House. House Speaker Mike Johnson (R-LA) talked about the use of investigations, legislation, and power of the purse during a press conference on Capitol Hill days after 12 jurors convicted Trump on felony charges in a New York hush-money case. Trump, who faces the prospect of jail time, has vowed to appeal the verdict. “We’re going to do everything we can — everything within our scope of our responsibility in the Congress to address it appropriately,” Johnson said of the congressional response to the verdict and three other prospective trials that Trump faces in matters that focus on the handling of classified documents and the 2020 election. Noting the House GOP is “working on a three-pronged approach,” Johnson explained, “We’re looking at various approaches to what can be done here through the appropriations process, through the legislative process, through bills that will be advancing through our committees and put on the floor for passage and also through oversight.” He added, “All those things will be happening vigorously. Because we must do that, because the stakes are too high and because people are losing faith in our institutions. And that at the end of the day, is something that should concern every single one of us, and I think it does.” House Republicans have opened investigations into key players involved in the Trump cases and have proposed legislation to restrain the prosecutors who are leading them. Judiciary Chairman Jim Jordan (R-OH) invited prosecutors from the hush-money case to testify and submitted proposals that would leverage the fiscal 2025 appropriations process. One of the other top House members who appeared at the press conference on Tuesday, Majority Leader Steve Scalise (R-LA), expounded on efforts already underway to “look into the weaponization of government” that Republicans argue is being leveraged against Trump by President Joe Biden and his allies. “We have committees … continuing to get transparency, bringing in witnesses. But we are also bringing legislation,” Scalise said. “You’re going to see in the appropriations process us look at the funding of some of these agencies. You’re going to also see policies that are going to be coming forward that are going to address the abuses of power that we’ve seen.” CLICK HERE TO GET THE DAILYWIRE+ APP Majority Whip Tom Emmer (R-MN) spoke about getting “accountability” for the American people and noted that he pressed the Department of Justice to act on criminal referrals against Michael Cohen, a former Trump lawyer who testified during the hush-money trial, for allegedly making false statements as well as stealing money. House GOP Conference Chairwoman Elise Stefanik (R-NY), a contender to be Trump’s vice presidential running mate who has filed a number of complaints regarding the hush-money case, said the guilty verdict last week “shows how corrupt, rigged, and unAmerican the weaponized justice system has become under Joe Biden and Democrats.” She added, “We must work and are committed to working around the clock to ensure President Trump is victorious this November to save America from Biden’s failed Far Left Democrat agenda and this illegal weaponization of the justice system against the American people.”
