EPIC Games Wins Antitrust Suit Against Google‚ Putting Company’s ‘Monopoly’ at Risk

Anti-free speech Google has been hit with multiple antitrust lawsuits.  Google suffered an epically devastating defeat in federal court on Dec. 11 after EPIC Games Inc.‚ the company that created Fortnite‚ successfully sued Google. This lawsuit stems from Google’s decision to ban EPIC Games after the company attempted to help its customers circumvent a 30% surcharge paid to Google on all EPIC games purchases. This is far from the only antitrust case Google has faced over the last few years.  Private‚ state and federal actors have criticized Google’s monopoly‚ including the Department of Justice and the founders of the social media app Rumble.  Google banned several social media apps popular with conservatives in Jan. 2021‚ including Rumble and Parler. As a consequence‚ Google drew a lawsuit from Rumble for its “anticompetitive and exclusionary practices.” The previous year‚ Google was on the receiving end of not one‚ not two‚ but three scathing antitrust lawsuits from two coalitions of states and the Department of Justice. Specifically‚ the DOJ alleged that Google was illegally maintaining monopolies in “general search services‚ search advertising‚ and general search text advertising.”  According to Business Insider‚ 90% of internet searches take place on Google and YouTube‚ which is owned by Google‚ amounting to billions of searches a day. The DOJ argued that Google reached its current complete dominance of internet searches by paying companies such as Apple to make Google the default on their products.  Google has also faced antitrust lawsuits abroad in the United Kingdom and the European Union. Google’s dominance should concern conservatives‚ as the anti-free speech behemoth‚ not only helped ban social media apps on the right but also frequently buried the websites of Republican candidates for the presidency and other offices. Google has frequently engaged in censorship‚ including by taking down Pro-Life ads at the behest of pro-abortion activists. Conservatives are under attack. Contact Google at 650-253-0000 and demand it be held to account to mirror the First Amendment while providing transparency‚ and equal footing for conservatives. Will life imitate art with ‘Civil War’?

Will life imitate art with ‘Civil War’?

A “Civil War” is coming just in time for the 2024 presidential election. Director Alex Garland’s film of the same name is slated for an April 26 release date. The mind behind “Ex Machina” and the feminist horror film “Men” envisions an America in the not-so-distant future at war with itself. Civil War | Official Trailer HD | A24 www.youtube.com Kirsten Dunst‚ Jesse Plemons‚ and Nick Offerman‚ the libertarian hero from “Parks and Recreation‚” lead the cast. Dunst plays a journalist covering the mayhem‚ while Offerman embodies a God-fearing commander in chief. Is there a better indicator from a Hollywood movie that he’s the bad guy? The first trailer dropped last week‚ and it shrewdly depicted the story’s big beats without giving much away. What started the civil war in question? Why‚ according to the trailer‚ does it appear that red Texas and cobalt-blue California are on the same side? If the recent argle-bargle over the trailer is any indication‚ the film’s release will spark endless social media broadsides. And‚ let’s hope‚ nothing more. And what does Plemons’ character mean when he interrogates someone at gunpoint and asks‚ “What kind of American are you?” Thoughts of previous movies savaging Christians (“The Purge” franchise) and the GOP (your choice of countless anti-Trump films and TV shows) rushed to mind. Some conservatives recoiled at the trailer‚ including the invaluable Ace of Spades website and pundit Jack Posobeic‚ who dubbed it “predictive programming.” The term refers to the government or other powerful entities getting the public accustomed to something as catastrophic as a civil war through art. The far-left Vice pounced and seized on select comments‚ suggesting a new alt-right-style conspiracy in the works without solid evidence beyond a few posts on X (formerly Twitter). Any political thriller from Hollywood Inc. deserves suspicion from conservatives. Still‚ we’ve been here before. A 2019 trailer for “The Hunt” sent conservatives scrambling for rhetorical cover. The thriller posed a provocative gimmick: What if liberals hunted down conservatives for sport? Think “The Most Dangerous Game‚” starring latte-sipping NPR listeners. That’s what many assumed from the film’s first incendiary peek. The teaser sparked a sizable controversy‚ including stern words from then-President Donald Trump: Liberal Hollywood is Racist at the highest level‚ and with great Anger and Hate . . . . the movie coming out is made in order to inflame and cause chaos. They create their own violence‚ and then try to blame others. They are the true Racists‚ and are very bad for our Country! Trump didn’t name-check the film. The message came through loud and clear. Universal Studios temporarily shelved “The Hunt” following a trio of mass shootings and the kerfuffle surrounding the film’s plot. The movie‚ released roughly six months later after the culture cooled down‚ lived up to some of the advance billing. Yes‚ smarmy liberals were hunting conservatives to the death. It still smacked both conservatives and liberals around‚ with progressives facing the meatier uppercuts. Conservatives should have held their collective tongues until the film reached theaters. You don’t negate cancel culture by embracing its worst tropes. Plus‚ if moviegoers robotically copied what they saw on movie screens‚ there wouldn’t be a soul left alive following four “John Wick” films. “Civil War’s” theatrical debut happens in the late spring‚ months before the first presidential votes are cast. Its release date still overlaps with what promises to be a grueling‚ divisive campaign. Could the filmmaker’s previous work or interviews suggest what he has in store for us with “Civil War?” Garland penned the script for “28 Days Later‚” one of the best of the modern zombie films and a story where animal activists‚ not the military‚ unleashed the undead-style plague. “Ex Machina” served up a sobering look at robot technology that seems almost prescient given recent advances in AI. “Men” delivered an anti-patriarchy screed overwhelmed by first-rate scares and original shocks. These tea leaves are inscrutable‚ at best. The furious response to the “Civil War” trailer isn’t difficult to explain. We’re living in deeply divided times‚ when even a film teaser can spark a war of words. The context remains chilling. Stores boarded up their windows in the days leading up to the 2020 presidential elections‚ fearing a new wave of far-left violence should Trump snag a second term. More recently‚ pro-Hamas protesters have run rampant in major cities with little police pushback. It might not take much to spark a new wave of violence‚ given the cultural kindling sprinkled across the country. If the recent argle-bargle over the trailer is any indication‚ the film’s release will spark endless social media broadsides. And‚ let’s hope‚ nothing more. The last thing Americans want from “Civil War” is for life to imitate art.

Gov. Abbott ratifies law allowing Texas police to arrest illegal aliens — to the great displeasure of open-border leftists

Gov. Abbott ratifies law allowing Texas police to arrest illegal aliens — to the great displeasure of open-border leftists

Texas Gov. Greg Abbott ratified legislation Monday effectively making illegal immigration a state crime — an apparent necessity in light of the Biden administration's apparent inability or unwillingness to enforce federal immigration law. Police will soon be able to arrest foreign nationals who illegally steal into the U.S. Magistrates will also be able to order illegal aliens to leave the country. Senate Bill 4‚ which goes into effect in March‚ is one of a handful of new tools Texas has been equipped with to address record-high monthly illegal border crossings. "Four years ago‚ the United States had the fewest illegal border crossings in decades‚" Abbott said in a statement. "It was because of four policies put in place by the Trump administration that led to such a low number of illegal crossings." In fiscal year 2020‚ there were 400‚651 southwest border encounters between October and September. By contrast‚ in fiscal year 2022‚ there were 2‚387‚944 encounters during the same stretch. Over 6.6 million illegal aliens have illegally crossed the border since President Joe Biden took office. "President Biden has eliminated all of those policies and done nothing to halt illegal immigration. President Biden's deliberate inaction has left Texas to fend for itself‚" added Abbott. — (@) Laying down the law Both chambers of the Texas legislature passed SB 4 in November. This legislation‚ proposed by Republican state Rep. David Spiller‚ would make illegal entry into the Lone Star State a class B misdemeanor as well as allow for foreign nationals who refuse to leave the country to be charged with a second-degree felony‚ which carries prison time of up to 20 years. Additionally‚ illegal aliens found "at any time" who have previously been convicted of two or more misdemeanors involving drugs‚ crimes against a person‚ or both would be charged with a third-degree felony. The law provides civil immunity and indemnification for local and state government officials to spare them from lawsuits resulting from the application of Texas law. However‚ law enforcement officials cannot perform such arrests at schools‚ churches‚ sexual abuse shelters‚ and hospitals. Spiller indicated in October that this legislation was a "Texas solution to a Texas problem. It is a humane‚ logical‚ and efficient approach to a problem created by the Biden Administration [sic] continued failure and refusal to secure our border. Not only does it not overburden our criminal justice system‚ it should be less costly than detaining many people that we are currently expending funds to house." "There is nothing unfair about ordering someone back from where they came if they arrived here illegally" added Spiller. Texas Lieutenant Governor Dan Patrick called SB4 “the strongest border security bill Texas has ever passed.” Backlash from the usual suspects Blaze News previously reported that Mexican authorities have been critical of SB4‚ noting in a Nov. 15 statement that "the Government of Mexico categorically rejects any measure that allows state or local authorities to detain and return Mexican or foreign nationals to Mexican territory." Democrats‚ liberal media outfits‚ and other leftist activists have joined the foreign power in denouncing SB4. The ACLU of Texas threatened last month to sue if Abbott ratified SB4. "Senate Bill 4 (88-4) overrides federal immigration law‚ fuels racial profiling and harassment‚ and gives state officials the unconstitutional ability to deport people without due process‚ regardless of whether they are eligible to seek asylum or other humanitarian protections‚" said Oni Blair‚ executive director at the ACLU of Texas. "These new measures will not rebuild trust among immigrant communities that have long grappled with the specter of detention and deportation‚" said Krish O'Mara Vignarajah‚ Michelle Obama's former policy director now serving as CEO of the Lutheran Immigration and Refugee Service — another group that welcomes illegal aliens into the U.S.. "To the contrary‚ they are poised to create a chilling effect‚ deterring immigrants from seeking necessary assistance or cooperating with law enforcement‚ and jeopardizing the safety and cohesion of Texan communities as a whole." The pro-illegal-immigration group Border Network for Human Rights threatened to stage a "journey of resistance" caravan along the Texas-Mexico border‚ teaching migrants how they can circumnavigate state law and exert political influence stateside to have the law repealed‚ reported WWTI-TV. Democratic Rep. Veronica Escobar (Texas)‚ a supporter of the BNHR's efforts‚ stated‚ "What the state of Texas is doing and our governor and members of the (Republican-led) Legislature are doing is they want to have a state immigration system‚ and that is against our Constitution‚ against federal law." U.S. Rep. Joaquin Castro (D-Texas) and other leftist lawmakers have written to the Biden Department of Justice‚ asking it to sue Texas to block SB4 from going into effect. "We urge you to assert your authority over federal immigration and foreign policy and pursue legal action‚ as appropriate‚ to stop this unconstitutional and dangerous legislation from going into effect‚" said the letter. Thirty former immigration judges issued a statement on Nov. 10 claiming SB4 "is not lawful." Liberal media outlets have repeatedly compared SB4 to a 2010 Arizona law‚ Senate Bill 1070‚ that was ultimately struck down in 2012 by the Supreme Court. "The core question is whether the states can make it a crime to violate federal immigration law and detain an alien for violating that law‚" said Josh Blackman‚ a constitutional law professor at South Texas College of Law Houston‚ told the New York Times. "What Texas is doing is taking up Arizona's mantle‚" said Daniel Morales‚ a law professor at the University of Houston. "This is a complete relitigation of the issues that appeared and were settled in that case." Some state Republican lawmakers figure the law might get a fairer hearing before the high court now that it has more conservative justices on the bench‚ reported the Texas Tribune. Like Blaze News? Florida woman allegedly rapes autistic brother-in-law‚ gives birth to his child

A woman in Florida has apparently been put behind bars after she allegedly raped her husband's autistic brother and gave birth to his child. Amanda Brooks was taken into custody by the authorities last week and charged with felony sexual assault‚ knowingly providing false information to law enforcement‚ and providing false information to a law enforcement officer concerning a felony‚ per WOFL. The Florida Keys Sheriff social media account posted: "Woman arrested for sexual battery. A 34-year-old woman was arrested Thursday by U.S. Marshals in Orlando‚ Florida for a sexual battery investigated by the Monroe County Sheriff’s Office that occurred in the Lower Keys in 2022.""Amanda Rose Brooks was charged with sexual battery on a person with a developmental disability‚ providing false information to law enforcement‚ and filing a false report. Brooks was taken into custody Thursday in Orlando‚ Florida by U.S. Marshals." — (@) Details of the incident apparently began to develop about a decade ago‚ per the report. The 34-year-old woman reached out to the Monroe County Sheriff's Office in June 2022‚ claiming that she had been sexually assaulted by her husband and his younger brother. Brooks described a list of events that occurred between February and April 2022‚ noting that she had been "coerced and forced" to take part in sexual activity. She went on to say that she had been "verbally and psychologically abused‚" according to an affidavit that was obtained by WOFL.As a result of the alleged abuse‚ the woman quickly fled with her children to Orlando. She eventually turned in a written statement to the Orlando police that was then sent to Monroe County. Brooks also provided emails and screenshots of messages with friends that apparently revealed herself as a "victim of abuse and mistreatment by the family of her husband‚ and continued to insist she was being harassed by them about her having left with her children‚" according to the affidavit. However‚ in July 2022‚ the mother of Brooks' brother-in-law said that her son was the victim and that Brooks had raped him. Brooks allegedly entered her autistic brother-in-law's room and sexually assaulted him on a number of occasions. The mother insisted that since her son was autistic‚ he could not possibly consent. The brother-in-law told the authorities that Brooks had sexually assaulted him at least four times over the previous ten years. He went on to say that he had told Brooks "no" and that "they shouldn't do this‚" but she insisted that he go along with it‚ saying that it "was okay" because it "made her feel good‚" per a report. During the time of the alleged assaults‚ Brooks' husband said that he was not sexually involved with her. Brooks had reportedly withheld sex from him‚ even though he noticed that she was still keeping up with an ovulation tracker. It was not until September 2022 that the authorities were made aware that Brooks was already several months pregnant. DNA samples were taken in April and May 2022 from Brooks' husband‚ the brother-in-law‚ and the unborn child. The results indicated that the brother-in-law was the father of the child. Brooks ultimately gave birth to the child on January 9‚ 2023.Brooks was arrested on December 10. She is currently in jail in Monroe Country on $150‚000 bond.Like Blaze News? 'They’re like savages': NAACP leader suspended for accusing migrants of rape‚ blames AI after video leaks

The president of the Illinois NAACP was suspended after a leaked video of a conference call emerged showed her calling illegal immigrants "savages" who are "raping people."Teresa Haley was on a Zoom call with other NAACP leaders in her state when she began to discuss what she believed was a lack of concern for addicted and homeless black people‚ while all the focus was going to the migrant population. The video was obtained by WLS-TV and showed Haley saying‚ "These immigrants who come over here‚ they’ve been raping people‚ they’ve been breaking into homes‚ they’re like savages as well. They don’t speak the language and they look at us like we’re crazy.""Black people have been on the streets forever and ever‚ and nobody cares‚ because they say that we’re drug addicts‚ we’ve got mental health issues‚" Haley also said‚ according to CNN."It’s the N-A-A-C-P. What do those letters mean to you? What does it really stand for? Yes‚ we can stand up for other people‚ but what are we doing for our own?" she reportedly added.Haley was initially reached by phone while on vacation in Dubai and denied making the comments. When confronted with the video‚ Haley reportedly claimed it could be a fake."With AI‚ anything is possible‚" she allegedly claimed.Days later‚ Haley issued an apology."First and foremost‚ I express my sincere apologies to anyone who may have been hurt or offended by my comments. I love and value all members of our communities — including immigrants‚" Haley said‚ per Fox News. "I have worked tirelessly to advocate for the underserved and the voiceless. I remain focused on denouncing injustices‚ racism‚ and discrimination‚" Haley opined. The leader added that she is "empathetic" to every person's plight and remains an advocate for "injustices‚ racism‚ and discrimination."DuPage County‚ Illinois‚ NAACP President Michael Childress claimed that Haley's comments were taken out of context. However‚ Governor J.B. Pritzker (D) called Haley's words "reprehensible remarks" and "extraordinarily inappropriate." The governor also said that he thinks people should recognize that "immigrants to this country are all around us."Meanwhile‚ the NAACP said that it stood firm in its "commitment to advancing racial justice and cultivating a society where human dignity is respected‚" a national spokesperson told CNN.The group added that Haley was indeed suspended on December 13‚ 2023.Like Blaze News? Best medieval games on PC 2023

What are the best medieval games? Rare is a videogame that doesn’t feature at least one sword‚ suit of armor‚ or roast chicken. Still‚ they’re usually mixed in with bearded hermits slinging magic fireballs‚ which we’re reliably informed your average medieval peasant had very little knowledge of. To that end‚ we’ve assembled a list of the best PC games that eschew all the prophecy and pyrotechnics for good old-fashioned steel-on-steel action. Medieval games come in all different shapes and sizes‚ with some opting for a more fantasy game style. Strange women lying in ponds distributing swords is‚ after all‚ no basis for a system of government. Similarly‚ a level ten Necromancer against a blacksmith wearing a potato sack is no basis for a fair fight.
