A serial child abuser from New York‚ with charges stemming back to 1986‚ has allegedly exposed himself to children on at least three occasions in the past month. Paul Goodrell‚ 54‚ has been arrested and released back into the public at least eight times after flashing himself to children as young as seven years old‚ sometimes while touching himself‚ stalking kids‚ and more. In just this past month‚ Goodrell allegedly exposed himself to children on at least three occasions‚ and police suspect that there are more victims‚ based on video surveillance footage. On December 8‚ Goodrell allegedly exposed himself to a seven-year-old girl inside a Canandaigua grocery store and attempted to lure the child away from her guardians. After he was arrested by officers the following day‚ Goodrell intentionally damaged his parole-issued ankle monitoring bracelet on his way to the police station. Days later‚ he was released from the Ontario County Jail. The sex offender was hit with more charges last week‚ stemming from an incident where Goodrell allegedly exposed himself to a child under 12 years old at another grocery store on December 6‚ and then allegedly exposed himself to a seven-year-old boy a week later. Goodrell’s alleged sexual crimes are so commonplace that police reportedly referred to him as “No Pants Paul.” Goodrell has a history of breaking into schools to flash himself to children. In 2006‚ he exposed himself to a group of girls at Newark Middle School. He also hit up a school in Auburn back in 2010. Additionally‚ Goodrell allegedly exposed himself to girls walking to school in the town of Irondequoit‚ did the same to girls waiting for their school bus in another Rochester town‚ and exposed himself in parking lots at SUNY Brockport and Geneseo colleges‚ Monroe Community College‚ and a dozen other locations. Goodrell was also touching himself‚ the children say. “We tried acting like we didn’t see him‚” one of the siblings said. “We walked away and he kept following us.” After a judge sentenced Goodrell to 12 years in state prison for some of his sexual crimes against minors in 2012‚ an appellate court halved the sentence‚ deeming it “unduly harsh.” Notably‚ when Goodrell left the courthouse‚ he said “no thanks” when asked by the media if he’d like to say anything to his victims and their families. He then faced the cameras and said‚ “It’s only a penis‚ for f*** sake.” Former Ontario County Sheriff Kevin Henderson suggested Goodrell’s re-arrest back in 2021 was predictable. “The New York State Division of Parole felt that he was able to be released back into society and again‚ based on the history of this individual‚ he is right back out in victimizing more people‚” Henderson said. Most recently‚ Goodrell was released on parole in July.

More than 1‚200 Pizza Hut delivery drivers throughout California will be out of a job in the coming months after California’s fast food minimum wage increase.  Numerous Pizza Hut franchises in California announced they would eliminate delivery driver positions and rely on third-party delivery companies such as DoorDash‚ GrubHub‚ and Uber Eats as the state’s minimum wage for fast food workers will increase to $20 in April‚ CBS News reported. The layoffs‚ which will start in February‚ will mostly affect Pizza Hut delivery drivers in Los Angeles‚ Orange‚ and Riverside counties.  One delivery driver told Business Insider last week that he was offered $400 severance pay if he worked until February 5 — the date Pizza Hut told him he would be laid off.  “The money they are giving us as severance pay is a slap on the face‚” the Pizza Hut employee said. “It comes to $3 a month for nine-plus years of service.” California’s Assembly Bill 1228‚ which increased the fast food worker minimum wage by 30% to $20 an hour‚ was signed into law by Democratic Governor Gavin Newsom in September. After the bill was signed‚ other fast food chains‚ such as McDonald’s and Chipotle‚ said they would increase menu prices to offset wage raises‚ according to Business Insider.  In 2022‚ Newsom signed the Fast Food Accountability and Standards Recovery Act‚ which called for fast food workers’ minimum wage to increase to $22 an hour‚ but fast food corporations opposed the bill and successfully got a referendum on the ballot. That minimum wage law was frozen by a California court last January‚ allowing groups who opposed the law to count signatures of those against the minimum wage increase.  AB 1228 then replaced the Fast Food Accountability and Standards Recovery Act‚ which made the minimum wage for fast food workers $20 an hour. Governor Kathy Hochul (D-NY) is being heavily criticized for signing a bill that moves most local elections to even-numbered years‚ aligning with federal elections.
