True all-screen iPhone could come soon as Apple supplier begins work on under-display cameras

Apple is rumored to introduce a true all-screen iPhone in the future. Reports indicate that this change could happen in 2027 when both Face ID and the front-facing camera will be hidden under the display. Now‚ a report by the Korean website The Elec says LG Innotek has started the development of this under-panel camera‚ with implementation coming "after 2026." According to the publication‚ this technology makes the camera invisible when not in the works‚ increasing the display immersion. To avoid issues with low light being absorbed by the front-facing camera‚ LG is developing a special technology called Feeform Optic to overcome the limitations of existing under-panel cameras. With that‚ this module would be composed of multiple lenses‚ including a "free curve" shape on one or more surfaces to make this transition seamless. That said‚ developing an under-panel camera will take a while‚ and a true all-screen iPhone is not expected before 2026. Interestingly‚ Apple has received under-panel camera samples from other companies‚ but it has evaluated performance as "unsatisfactory." Samsung has already applied under-panel camera technology for the Galaxy Z Fold series. Still‚ the camera specifications are too low – this is why the Korean company highlights the benefits of the main camera as the one to use at all times. Before Apple introduces a true all-screen iPhone‚ the company will first need to hide the Face ID technology under the display. This transition is expected to happen in 2025 with the iPhone 17. With that in mind‚ Apple could delay the design change of its entire lineup for another year‚ as Dynamic Island could stay the way it is from the iPhone 14 Pro to the iPhone 16 Pro. While we’re still a couple of years away from discovering Apple’s newest technologies‚ a sketchy report said that the Cupertino firm could bring under-display Touch ID to the iPhone in 2026. BGR will keep following Apple's plans for a true all-screen iPhone. Below‚ you can learn more about what we expect from the iPhone 16 lineup. Apple delays Apple Music Collaborative Playlist feature to 2024

Apple delays Apple Music Collaborative Playlist feature to 2024

One of the best iOS 17.2 features coming to Apple Music was Collaborative Playlist. Unfortunately‚ Apple removed all references to this function during the final beta before the Release Candidate version of this system. Then‚ when the company seeded iOS 17.2 RC yesterday‚ the release notes of this upcoming operating system showed that‚ indeed‚ the iOS 17 most-anticipated Apple Music Collaborative Playlist feature was postponed to 2024. As the name suggests‚ this function lets you invite someone to collaborate on a playlist in Apple Music. In the list‚ you could tell who added each song and also share the playlists with more collaborators using a link or QR Code. Image source: José Adorno for BGR Although this feature worked fine for me‚ Apple might have found a bug that made the company postpone this release to 2024. That said‚ there are a couple of new functions coming to Apple Music with iOS 17.2‚ such as: Favorite Songs Playlist in Apple Music lets you quickly get back to the songs you mark as favorites Use Listening History in Apple Music can be disabled in Focus so the music you listen to does not appear in Recently Played or influence your recommendations It's not the first time Apple has added a feature during the beta cycle and then postponed it for a later date. This happened with Universal Control and Stage Manager in previous years. Fortunately‚ with Apple taking time to release Collaborative Playlists early in 2024‚ Cupertino could add another tweak missing from the iOS 17.2 beta testing: song reaction. Apple says that in addition to the Apple Music Collaborative Playlist function‚ users will also be able to react to the songs friends have added to a list and vice versa. We hope this feature is added to a future iOS 17.3 beta version. Below‚ you can learn about all the features coming to iOS 17.2.
