If Americans Just Ate Healthy &; Exercised‚ Then Politicians Wouldn’t be Clamoring About $1‚000 Weight Loss Drugs “Bankrupting” Medicare

Fat Americans are turning to Big Pharma instead of healthy lifestyle choices. If the food-industrial complex had not flooded the nation’s food supply with junk‚ if the government actively encouraged healthy lifestyles‚ and if efforts to address the obesity crisis didn’t rely solely on ‘miracle weight loss drugs’ pushed by the pharmaceutical industry‚ then maybe – just maybe – politicians wouldn’t be clamoring on Capitol Hill‚ or the elderly (somewhat senile) president in the White House‚ about out-of-control drug prices. But since common sense has vanished in America and folks have given up on Peloton bikes for $1‚000 monthly injections of “Wegovy‚” the blockbuster weight loss treatment (also a diabetes drug called “Ozempic”) from Novo Nordisk‚ then socialists‚ such as Sen. Bernie Sanders (I-Vt.)‚ wouldn’t be reviving the discussion about high drug prices.  “Today‚ a new Yale study found that Ozempic costs less than $5 a month to manufacture. And yet‚ Novo Nordisk charges Americans nearly $1‚000 a month for this drug‚ while the same exact product can be purchased for just $155 a month in Canada and just $59 in Germany‚” Sanders said in a statement. Sanders cited the study “Estimated Sustainable Cost-Based Prices for Diabetes Medicines‚” conducted by researchers at Yale University‚ King’s College Hospital in London‚ and the nonprofit Doctors Without Borders. It was published in the journal JAMA Network Open on Wednesday.  In the study‚ researchers found Novo could produce the blockbuster drug for 89 cents to $4.73 per month‚ as opposed to the monthly retail price of about $1‚349 for Wegovy‚ a semaglutide injection. Introducing Next Level Foundational Energy from Dr. Jones Naturals starting at 30% off! This cutting-edge dietary supplement is designed to elevate your energy levels and support your overall well-being. “As Chairman of the Senate Committee on Health‚ Education‚ Labor‚ and Pensions (HELP)‚ I am calling on Novo Nordisk to lower the list price of Ozempic — and the related drug Wegovy — in America to no more than what they charge for this drug in Canada‚” Sander said.  He added: “The American people are sick and tired of paying‚ by far‚ the highest prices in the world for prescription drugs while the pharmaceutical industry enjoys huge profits.” Sanders warned: “This outrageously high price has the potential to bankrupt Medicare‚ the American people and our entire health care system. There is no rational reason‚ other than greed‚ for Novo Nordisk to charge Americans nearly $1‚000 a month for Ozempic when it costs less than $5 to manufacture it and can be purchased in Germany for just $59. Novo must substantially reduce the price of Ozempic in the US now. pic.twitter.com/rdyF5MCQbX— Bernie Sanders (@SenSanders) March 27‚ 2024 Analysts have forecasted that the market for weight-loss drugs could reach at least $100 billion a year by the end of the decade‚ with the production of Wegovy and Eli Lilly’s Zepbound and Mounjaro. And a decent chunk of the weight loss drugs will likely be covered by Medicare.  “The profit margin is immense” on weight loss drugs like Ozempic‚ Melissa Barber‚ a public health economist at Yale and the study’s lead author‚ told Bloomberg. She added‚ “There should be a conversation in policy about what is a fair price.” Rounding back to the intro of this note‚ Americans should eat better and exercise. Then‚ we don’t have to rely on the pharmaceutical-industrial complex. What’s odd is the government does not promote ‘common sense’ healthy lifestyles. Why is that? Are their donors pharma companies? ‘Whole Thing Smacks of a Brave New World’: New AI Tool Predicts Vaccine Hesitancy

According to the University of Cincinnati researchers who developed the tool‚ “Despite COVID-19 vaccine mandates‚ many chose to forgo vaccination‚ raising questions about the psychology underlying how judgment affects these choices.” A team of researchers has developed a “powerful new tool in artificial intelligence” (AI) that can predict if someone is or isn’t likely to get a COVID-19 vaccine. According to the University of Cincinnati‚ the new AI tool “uses a small set of data from demographics and personal judgments such as aversion to risk or loss” to identify “reward and aversion judgment” patterns in humans that may help explain one’s willingness to get vaccinated. The researchers presented their findings in a study published Tuesday in the Journal of Medical Internet Research Public Health and Surveillance. The study’s findings “could have broad applications for predicting mental health and result in more effective public health campaigns‚” the university said. According to the study‚ “Despite COVID-19 vaccine mandates‚ many chose to forgo vaccination‚ raising questions about the psychology underlying how judgment affects these choices.”Introducing Next Level Foundational Energy from Dr. Jones Naturals starting at 30% off! This cutting-edge dietary supplement is designed to elevate your energy levels and support your overall well-being. The researchers claim their findings “demonstrate the underlying importance of judgment variables for vaccine choice and uptake‚ suggesting that vaccine education and messaging might target varying judgment profiles to improve uptake.” But critics like Brian Hooker‚ Ph.D.‚ chief scientific officer for Children’s Health Defense‚ said that the new technology implies that those who question vaccines have mental health problems: “The whole implication here is that nonconformity to the government propaganda machine’s standard of care makes one some type of mental case or extreme outlier. The whole thing smacks of a Brave New World where potentially non-compliant individuals are targeted with messaging based on fear and irrationality.” Hooker said the new technology “is a prefabricated substitute to what Big Pharma and government health agencies avoid: rational discussions of science and medicine that might expose the truth about vaccine adverse events.”“The Wuhan Cover-Up” by Robert F. Kennedy Jr.ORDER NOW Using AI to target the ‘vaccine-hesitant’? Nicole Vike‚ Ph.D.‚ senior research associate at the University of Cincinnati’s College of Engineering and Applied Science‚ was the paper’s lead author. “COVID-19 is unlikely to be the last pandemic we see in the next decades‚” Vike said. “Having a new form of AI for prediction in public health provides a valuable tool that could help prepare hospitals for predicting vaccination rates and consequential infection rates.” The study’s authors said the technology also could be used to “aid vaccine rollouts and health care preparedness by providing location-specific details” — in other words‚ identifying geographic areas that may experience low vaccination and high hospitalization rates‚ according to the study. Critics questioned the study’s claims and also said they were worried about the potential adverse uses of this technology. “The main problem with research like this is the underlying premise: Vaccine hesitancy must be accounted for in terms of the (aberrant) psychology of the subjects and not with reference to the efficacy and safety of the vaccine(s) in question‚” said Michael Rectenwald‚ Ph.D.‚ author of “Google Archipelago: The Digital Gulag and the Simulation of Freedom.” As a result‚ Rectenwald said‚ it’s implied that “if people are vaccine-hesitant‚ the fault is endemic to them rather than to the vaccine itself. From this premise‚ the research seeks to justify vaccination as normal by linking anomalous mental and psychological characteristics with vaccine hesitancy.” This may lead to individuals being targeted‚ Rectenwald said: “Using AI to predict vaccine hesitancy on these terms might include mobilizing AI programs to target and even identify individually vaccine-hesitant subjects. We might also expect AI programs that seek to overcome vaccine hesitancy with attempts to ‘reprogram’ said defective subjects. “At the very least‚ identifying‚ targeting and re-educating vaccine hesitant subjects is in the offing.” Scott C. Tips‚ president of the National Health Federation‚ said the new technology poses privacy concerns. Tips said: “It is nobody’s business but that of the individual as to whether he or she wants to be vaccinated. Why does anyone need to predict health decisions? ‘Predictive’ AI on this issue is nothing but a solution looking for a problem. There is no problem here. In fact‚ we should be glad that there are people who do not want to be vaccinated.” Similarly‚ Dr. Kat Lindley‚ president of the Global Health Project and director of the Global COVID Summit‚ agreed. “There are many reasons why someone may be vaccine-hesitant‚ and relying on a program‚ no matter how intelligent‚ to predict the outcome‚ I fear will underestimate the human element and individual experiences.” Critics also question claims about the technology’s effectiveness. “AI is only as good as the programmer and the parameters it was given‚ which also includes the biases with which it was created‚” Lindley said. Tim Hinchliffe‚ editor of The Sociable‚ said‚ “We’ve seen how ChatGPT spits out nonsense and we’ve seen the diversity disaster that was Google Gemini‚ so it’d be best to approach the results with caution. And when there is AI-human teaming‚ the results can still be biased.” “‘Garbage in‚ garbage out’ applies equally to AI-driven decisions and results every bit as much as it applies to any other decisions or results made by humans and ‘dumb’ computers‚” Tips said. “If the AI is searching through mainstream-only files and data for its answers‚ then it will come up with incorrect and biased results.”RFK Jr. and Brian Hooker’s New Book: “Vax-Unvax”ORDER NOW ‘Who will be the next targets of this attitude-predicting apparatus?’ Other experts suggested governments could abuse the technology and weaponize it against the public. “It’s indicative of the state of medicine and the priorities of our federal government to see more research being done on how to increase uptake of whatever product they’re defining as a vaccine‚ than to do the safety studies the public has been crying out for‚” said Valerie Borek‚ associate director and lead policy analyst for Stand For Health Freedom. “This study fits the decades-long approach to using psychology and our subconscious to push products and agendas‚” she said. “There is already technology that can assess biometric data such as heart rate‚ temperature and eye movements‚ combined with audio and location information.” Citing an example‚ Borek said the Centers for Disease Control and Prevention “already has a record of using cellphone data for public health surveillance.” Borek added: “The government has too much data to comb through‚ so the use of AI is inevitable for public health surveillance. How long before the devices we voluntarily wear and carry are used for AI predictions of our health choices? “Will those predictions lead to any governmental interventions? We need to ask these questions of our lawmakers and do what we can to minimize our digital footprint.” According to Hinchliffe: “If ‘AI can predict people’s attitudes‚’ then predicting so-called vaccine hesitancy would be just the start. What comes next? Predicting who is a climate denier? What about predicting people’s attitudes toward presidential candidates and who they’ll likely vote for? Who needs elections when the AI already knows who will win? “What happens when the re-education and propaganda schemes don’t work? Will data on predicting people’s attitudes go to governments so they can crack down on dissidents? Who will be the next targets of this attitude-predicting apparatus? My guess would be people who are ‘hesitant’ about the climate change narrative.”Your support helps fund this work‚ and CHD’s related advocacy‚ education and scientific research. DONATE NOW  Study claims AI can ‘make accurate predictions about human attitudes’ According to the University of Cincinnati’s announcement‚ the development of the new AI tool was based on a survey conducted in the U.S. in 2021‚ involving a representative sample of 3‚476 adults. Respondents “provided information such as where they live‚ income‚ highest education level completed‚ ethnicity and access to the internet.” Participants were asked if they had received a COVID-19 vaccine‚ with approximately 73% of respondents reporting they were vaccinated‚ “slightly more than the 70% of the nation’s population that had been vaccinated in 2021‚” according to the study. They were then “asked to rate how much they liked or disliked a randomly sequenced set of 48 pictures on a seven-point scale of 3 to -3‚” to quantify “mathematical features of people’s judgments as they observe mildly emotional stimuli.” “The judgment variables and demographics were compared between respondents who were vaccinated and those who were not. Three machine learning approaches were used to test how well the respondents’ judgment‚ demographics and attitudes toward COVID-19 precautions predicted whether they would get the vaccine‚” the announcement states. According to the study‚ “a small set of demographic variables and 15 judgment variables” were identified‚ which “predict vaccine uptake with moderate to high accuracy and high precision.” The announcement says these findings show “that artificial intelligence can make accurate predictions about human attitudes with surprisingly little data or reliance on expensive and time-consuming clinical assessments.” The same announcement quoted Aggelos Katsaggelos‚ Ph.D.‚ endowed professor of electrical engineering and computer science at Northwestern University‚ who claimed “The study is anti-big-data” because the new technology “can work very simply” and without the need for “super-computation.” “It’s inexpensive and can be applied with anyone who has a smartphone. We refer to it as computational cognition AI. It is likely you will be seeing other applications regarding alterations in judgment in the very near future‚” Katsaggelos said. Lindley disagreed. She told The Defender “Calling this anti-big-data is an oxymoron‚ because to be able to claim a high level of accuracy‚ the program would have to encompass a high level of understanding of the hesitancy itself.” “The problem with this AI initiative is the population-wide approach‚ which disregards any individual concerns and experiences‚” Lindley said. “If I have learned anything practicing medicine these past 20 years‚ it is that the human element matters and it’s unpredictable by its nature.” ‘Tip of the iceberg’: AI may also be used for rapid development of vaccines Other AI-related technologies in the healthcare realm have recently been introduced. At the annual meeting of the World Economic Forum (WEF) in January‚ Pfizer CEO Albert Bourlapraised the role of AI in the development of Paxlovid‚ a prescription oral medication marketed as a treatment for COVID-19. “It was developed in four months‚” Bourla said‚ whereas development of such a drug “usually takes four years.” He said AI helped significantly reduce the amount of time needed for the “drug discovery” process‚ where you “really synthesize millions of molecules and then you try to discover within them‚ which one works.” Bourla credited this breakthrough with saving “millions of lives” and predicted more such developments in the future. “Our job is to make breakthroughs that change patients’ lives‚” Bourla said. “With AI‚ I can do it faster and I can do it better.” “I truly believe that we are about to enter a scientific renaissance in life sciences because of this coexistence of advancements in technology and biology‚” Bourla added. “AI is a very powerful tool. In the hands of bad people [it] can do bad things for the world‚ but in the hands of good people [it] can do great things for the world.” During the same WEF panel discussion‚ Jeremy Hunt‚ the United Kingdom’s chancellor of the Exchequer‚ said AI could lead to the rapid development and deployment of vaccines. “When we have the next pandemic‚ we don’t want to have to wait a year before we get the vaccine‚” he said. “If AI can shrink the time it takes to get that vaccine to a month‚ then that is a massive step forward for humanity.” A WEF project‚ first announced in 2019‚ is funding research on the use of “synthetic” AI-generated “patients” and “synthetic” clinical trial data. Concerns over AI’s predictive ability have led to some action from lawmakers around the world. On March 13‚ the European Parliament passed the Artificial Intelligence Act‚ which contains several restrictions and prohibitions on the use of AI in various contexts. According to Greece’s Business Daily‚ “Emotion recognition in the workplace and schools‚ social scoring‚ predictive policing (when it is based solely on profiling a person or assessing their characteristics)‚ and AI that manipulates human behaviour or exploits people’s vulnerabilities” are forbidden by this legislation. Yet‚ for Hinchliffe‚ “Using AI to predict people’s attitudes towards vaccines and vaccine hesitancy is just the tip of the iceberg‚” as AI technology can then “be used to predict attitudes on just about anything.” “If successful‚ predicting people’s attitudes will lead to predicting their behavior. Predicting their behavior means knowing more about them than they know about themselves‚” he said. “Once humans are ‘hackable‚’ then all bets are off: They can be manipulated and controlled in the most nefarious of ways.” Total Solar Eclipse Special Report: Deep State Using Event to Test Federal Communications Takeover for Martial Law

‘The Army Needs More People’: Israel Will Force Ultra-Orthodox Jews to Serve as Patience Among Seculars Runs Out

They have no intention of serving in the IDF‚ and the patience of seculars is about to run out. The Ultra-Orthodox community of Israel is generally exempt from compulsory military service. Over the years‚ the state has tried to change this. These attempts have largely failed‚ in part because the country failed to pass a law that would regulate their service.  Yanki Farber‚ a Haredi journalist from the city of Bnei Brak‚ central Israel‚ is not a typical representative of the Ultra-Orthodox community‚ which currently stands at 1.25 million people‚ or roughly 12.5% of the population. When he was 18‚ Farber enrolled into the IDF‚ and after his release around three years later‚ he has on occasion been called up to the reserves. When the events of October 7‚ 2023 took place – with Hamas militants launching a deadly attack on southern Israeli communities – he put on his military uniform again and went to serve. But Farber is an exception‚ not the rule. Historically‚ Ultra-Orthodox Jews‚ who were a minority when the State of Israel was established in 1948‚ received exemptions from military service. Back then‚ it was agreed that they would serve the state by praying‚ even though some did enroll in the IDF‚ especially in times of war and in cities that were attacked by Arab armies. Read more ‘I don’t want to be a pawn in this sick game’: Israel’s anti-Zionist fringe is taking a standURGENT! Keep Alex Jones in the fight against the NWO! Please pray &; contribute at DefendJones.com today! In the 1990s‚ when their population started growing‚ Israel tried to encourage them to serve‚ but despite their efforts‚ the IDF only managed to recruit 31 individuals in 1999.  Over the years‚ the situation has significantly improved. In 2016‚ the total stood at 2‚850. Recently‚ the military announced that it has around 6‚000 Haredi soldiers in its ranks. The events of October 7 have also given the numbers a boost‚ though this is still just a drop in the ocean. “The majority of the Haredis do not serve because they are afraid that in the military they will be exposed to a variety of different opinions‚” Farber said. “Over there‚ they are likely to encounter soldiers from the LGBT community‚ Druze and the Bedouins. They will serve with women – and this encounter can change their minds. This can weaken their religious beliefs‚ something the rabbis are worried about‚” he added. But Ronen Koehler – an Israeli colonel in the reserves and one of the key activists in Achim Laneshek (Brothers in Arms)‚ an organization that unites reservists who fight for equality in military service – says the roots of the problem run much deeper. “It is true that the rabbis of the Ultra-Orthodox don’t want to expose their younger generation to modernity [by sending them to the IDF – ed.]. But what’s also true is that the more students they have‚ the more money their yeshiva [religious school] receives. They treat it as a business‚ and they have no plans to loosen their grip.” In 2021‚ it was estimated that Israel spent $83 million annually on its 54‚000 young yeshiva students. In addition‚ it forked out $248 million a year on religious students with families. This budget was increased in 2023 to cater to the fast-growing population of Haredis‚ and experts believe these funds will continue to grow. This excessive spending frustrates Koehler‚ but he is also fuming about the repercussions of this policy on Israeli society. “They sit in the yeshiva until the age of 26 [after which they are automatically exempt from military service – ed.]. They do not study core subjects. Nor do they learn for a certain profession. So when they finish their studies‚ they don’t have a job. They can’t integrate into the market‚ they become a burden on the economy‚ and the whole country is paying the price.” However‚ for Koehler‚ it is not only about money. It is also about equality and principles. “It is unacceptable that an 18-year-old secular boy who has just finished his studies will go to the IDF‚ where he will spend three years of his life‚ whereas his religious peer will not do the same. I am not saying they [Haredis – ed.] all need to go to combat units. But they do need to serve the state‚ by either volunteering in hospitals‚ schools‚ by serving in cyber units‚ or anything else.”Read more The hunger killing Gaza’s children has a clear cause that few are willing to name out loud Oddly enough‚ the Israeli government‚ led by Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu‚ looks at it differently. In December 2023‚ two months after the outbreak of the war‚ the Knesset passed a law that increased the age at which exemption from military service is granted‚ pushing it from 40 to 41 for ordinary reservists‚ and from 45 to 46 for officers. In addition‚ the Knesset is considering the possibility of increasing the number of days reservists are obliged to serve. Right now‚ Israeli reservists give the state 54 days over the course of three years. The plan is that they will now need to serve 42 days a year‚ or 126 in total. “This policy contradicts any common sense‚” Koehler said.  “It is clear that now [because of the war – ed.] the army needs more people – no complaints there. But instead of solving the issue by increasing the number of recruits‚ they burden those who already serve even more. It creates inequality and frustration because those who do enlist don’t have a life and they also face a tough attitude from their employers‚” he added. This frustration has translated into action. Last Thursday‚ thousands gathered in Tel Aviv to demand equal treatment regarding IDF service. Protesters urged the government to enlist Haredis and pass a law that would regulate their service. But the government seems to be dragging its feet. For years‚ liberal groups have appealed to the High Court of Justice‚ urging it to force the government to adopt a law that would equate Haredis to seculars when it comes to military service. They also want the state to stop financing religious institutions that don’t send their students who are ineligible for an exemption to the military. In 2017‚ it was finally ruled that the chapter in the security service law that dealt with the postponement of Ultra-Orthodox service should be repealed. Each year‚ however‚ the government was allowed to prolong it‚ until in 2023 it finally expired. The government of Netanyahu‚ which relies on religious parties‚ was given until March 31‚ 2024 to come up with a concrete law that would regulate the conscription of Haredis – but the prime minister asked on March 28 for an extension of 30 days to normalize the law. His attorney general has expressed a different opinion‚ urging the High Court to cut the funding for the yeshivas and begin the enlistment of Haredis on April 1. For liberals‚ however‚ it might not be enough.  “They kept on postponing this law year after year. Now the time is up… if this government decides that it will abide by the law [the decision of the High Court – ed.] and passes the legislation‚ it will be good for everyone‚” Koehler said. “Unfortunately‚ this government proved time and time again that it has no problem to break the law‚ and ignore the ruling of the Court. If this will be the case again‚ anything can happen‚” he added. A number of liberal groups have warned that they will take to the streets in protest if Haredis are not called up to serve – especially now‚ when the IDF urgently needs 10‚000 people to curb the threat of terrorism emanating from Gaza. Read more Unethical‚ hypocritical and cruel: Western aid cut will cause more pain for starving Gaza civilians Liberals are also expected to demand that the money Israel spends on yeshivas and various religious institutions be significantly reduced. But Farber‚ who studied in the yeshiva himself‚ says this approach will never work. “Applying force will not work. If such a law passes‚ the Haredis will leave the government‚ collapse the coalition‚ and go to sit in the opposition. Over there‚ they will wait for better days‚ when another government comes and gives them what they want. One thing is for sure‚ they won’t send their youngsters to the IDF.” Koehler is aware of the sensitivities. He doesn’t believe in force either. Rather‚ he is sure the Haredis can be convinced that military service can benefit them in the long run. “We need to explain to them that by serving‚ they end up getting more money that they can use to finance their families. After finishing the military‚ they have a chance to earn 35‚000 NIS [roughly $9‚600 – ed.] instead of working as a yeshiva teacher and get 5‚000 NIS per month [$1‚370 – ed.]. Rabbis will not get it but the younger generation will‚ and we need to talk to them.” What happens if convincing the Haredis does not work‚ and the government‚ which needs their support to remain in power‚ keeps on delaying the passage of the law? Koehler promises his camp will not sit idly by. “We are responsible people and we will not burn the state‚ if it comes to this. But with each day that passes‚ we see more and more injustice. We witness more examples of the government acting illegally‚ and our anger and frustration mounts. One day it might as well explode‚” he warned.
