The Ups and Downs of My First East Tennessee Motorcycle Ride

The CFMOTO 450SS was a pretty good steed to take on my first East Tennessee motorcycle ride. (photo by Killboy) When I’m traveling and tell other riders that I’m from Tennessee‚ they tell me they’re jealous. They talk about how lucky I am to live in a state with so many fantastic riding roads through the Great Smokies. However‚ before last summer‚ I had to shamefully admit I’d never ridden in East Tennessee. I got the opportunity to change that in June when I needed some photos for my CFMOTO 450SS review. I’d get to spend a couple days away from the desk‚ experience Appalachian riding‚ put some miles on the test bike‚ and get paid for it! Talk about a win‑win‑win‑win. As with most trips‚ this one didn’t go as smoothly as planned. The CFMOTO 450SS and I spent a lot of time sheltering from the rain under gas station canopies. I ran into my first hiccup just past Nashville. When I stopped to pull up directions for the next leg of my journey‚ my phone’s map wouldn’t load. I also wasn’t able to call or text. I didn’t know where I needed to go other than in a general southeast direction. Unable to rely on my phone for navigation‚ I stopped at gas stations along the way to ask locals for directions. Most were happy to help‚ and some were so happy that they took half an hour to tell me their own motorcycling stories. I enjoyed these interactions‚ but it was getting late‚ and I was still a long way from 129 Cabins in Robbinsville‚ North Carolina‚ where I’d be staying. When night fell‚ I was on the highway that would take me directly to the cabin‚ and I started to relax. Then I saw a sign that read “Motorcycles: High crash area next 11 miles.” Before I knew it‚ I was on the Tail of the Dragon. Those 11 miles with their 318 curves were the longest I’ve ever ridden. It was pitch dark with no other cars‚ bikes‚ or signs of human presence. The LED lights on the 450SS are great‚ but they shine in front of the bike while the road snaked away from where the headlight was pointed. I was also afraid of deer popping out from the woods since they’re a big cause of accidents in my area. A stretch of road that many riders travel across the world to experience was a nuisance to me. I felt some guilt about that‚ but all I wanted was to get to my cabin in one piece. And eventually‚ I did. After a delightful photoshoot with Killboy the next day‚ it was time to head home. My phone started working again after a simple restart‚ but the return trip took just as long as getting there. I dodged storms for hours‚ ducking into gas stations to keep the laptop in my backpack dry when rain poured down. When the skies cleared‚ the temperatures rose from 65 degrees to 98 with 100% humidity. Sitting on the interstate in stand‑still traffic with no airflow in that kind of heat was draining. Related: Killboy | Ep. 53 Rider Magazine Insider Podcast I finally made it home‚ and after a cold shower‚ I felt better. When my husband got home from work‚ I told him all about the storms and the heat and the traffic‚ filling his poor ears with complaints. Then I remembered riding along the Ocoee River. The rain had stopped for a while‚ and the temperature was just right. Mountains were rising on either side of me‚ and the river rushed by as kayakers navigated the rough whitewater. I remembered all the wonderful roads I’d sampled during the photoshoot‚ how much fun I had with the photographers‚ and how welcoming and peaceful the cabin was. And I knew I’d make this journey again‚ although with a little more preparation next time. I was relieved to reach my destination after a stressful nighttime ride on the Tail of the Dragon‚ and my room at 129 Cabins did not disappoint. (photo by Killboy) Riding is living times 10. There’s always something to complain about‚ but the beauty to be found is worth it. The post The Ups and Downs of My First East Tennessee Motorcycle Ride appeared first on Rider Magazine.

Owen Shroyer Released From Prison

Infowars journalist Owen Shroyer was released from federal prison on Friday after serving 45 days of his 60-day sentence. Shroyer reported to FCI Oakdale prison on October 24th to serve a sentence related to his presence at the U.S. Capitol grounds on January 6th‚ 2021. Ladies and Gentleman‚ I will see you tomorrow. pic.twitter.com/3rvkiVkdUb — Owen Shroyer (@OwenShroyer1776) December 8‚ 2023 Shroyer never entered the Capitol and was among the few individuals charged in connection to the protest who neither entered the building nor faced allegations of violent or destructive behavior. “He did not enter the building‚ but prosecutors said to he violated a previous deferred prosecution agreement that forbade the journalist from using ‘loud‚ threatening‚ or abusive language‚ or to engage in any disorderly or disruptive conduct‚ at any place upon the United States Capitol Grounds‚'” The Post Millennial reports. BREAKING: Owen Shroyer has been released from federal prison — Jack Poso (@JackPosobiec) December 8‚ 2023 The Post Millennial provided further details: Shroyer served 45 of this 60-day sentence‚ and spent much of the time in solitary confinement. The first stint‚ lasting around 5 days‚ was a result of the prison’s Covid intake policies. The second‚ which lasted much of the month of November‚ came in response to a phone call Shroyer placed with a friend to post on his X account‚ in which he thanked his followers for their support and letters during his time in prison. Court documents stated that Shroyer had allegedly completed 30 of the 32 hours of community service required by the deferred prosecution agreement‚ which was reached in January of 2020 after he “shouted in a loud manner” in a December 2019 House Judiciary Committee hearing. There’s also a push on X to reinstate Shroyer’s original account upon his prison release. If you are a friend‚ fan‚ or associate of Owen's please comment in this thread with @elonmusk and let him know that you would like @allidoisowen to be rightfully unbanned. Owen deserves his original account. Help welcome him home to something pleasant. Thank you. https://t.co/gsL6UslNrM — Owen Shroyer (@OwenShroyer1776) December 7‚ 2023 Please reinstate his associate @allidoisowen as well‚ the handle was restricted over a Media Matters hit piece that resulted in his suspension from twitter 1.0 over covid social distancing. 23-Year-Old Nurse Goes Into Cardiac Arrest While Learning How To Treat Condition

A 23-year-old nurse in New Hampshire suffered cardiac arrest while attending a training session to treat someone experiencing the condition. Andy Hoang started her first nursing job earlier this year and wished to specialize in cardiac care. While Hoang attended the training session at Dartmouth-Hitchcock Medical Center‚ she began to feel dizzy and nauseated. The young nurse felt she needed to sit down. In an interview with the Associated Press‚ Hoang said “that’s the last thing I remember.” “I woke up to a room full of doctors and nurses‚” she told the outlet. Just after starting her first nursing job‚ Andy Hoang went into cardiac arrest herself and needed help immediately. Her colleagues sprung into action. https://t.co/e72ByZKt44 — ABC 7 Chicago (@ABC7Chicago) December 6‚ 2023 AP reports: It turned out that she‚ herself‚ had gone into cardiac arrest and needed help immediately. Her colleagues sprung into action — instead of practicing chest compressions on a mannequin in a simulated environment‚ they went to work on her. “One checked her carotid‚ one her femoral (arteries)‚ and she did not have a pulse‚” instructor Lisa Davenport said. The nurses started CPR and a “code blue‚” or medical emergency‚ team was called. “What was really stressful about the situation was that we never had a real code blue in the center‚” Davenport said. “We train for them all the time.” Davenport shouted for help. Luckily‚ the Lebanon hospital’s critical care team was nearby‚ attending a separate session. More nurses came in‚ hooked Hoang up to defibrillator for monitoring‚ inserted an IV line and placed her on oxygen. A doctor and nurse from another department rushed in with crash carts. Hoang was waking up by the time an emergency team arrived. Davenport estimated 15 minutes passed from the time Hoang slumped over to when they got her on a stretcher and sent her to the emergency department. But it felt longer. A #CardiacArrest training for #nurses at @DHMCandClinics became a real emergency when a nurse unexpectedly went into cardiac arrest herself. “It really changed my perspective on how I view life‚" Andy Hoang‚ RN‚ told @AP. https://t.co/kPnWxzAVfi @DHHeartVascular — Dartmouth Health (@DartmouthHealth) December 7‚ 2023 “It worked out‚ but it was pretty frightening for all of us‚” Davenport said. “You just don’t expect that to happen with someone as young as Andy‚” she added. CBS News added: Charmaine Martin‚ one of the nurses at the scene‚ agreed it was a scary moment‚ but also one “where I saw and felt supported and we all worked as a team‚” she said in a statement. Hoang‚ who recently returned to work‚ couldn’t believe what had happened either. “I would say I’m your pretty average healthy 23-year-old‚” she said. She goes to the gym four times a week‚ runs‚ and eats well. “I’m on my feet 12‚ 13 hours a day at work‚ so I want to make sure that I’m in shape for that.” Cardiac arrest — the sudden loss of heart function — causes more than 436‚000 deaths in the United States each year‚ according to the American Heart Association. It is different from a heart attack‚ which happens when blood flow to the heart is blocked. A person can suffer cardiac arrest after having a heart attack‚ but the association says other conditions can also disrupt the heart’s rhythm and lead to cardiac arrest‚ including having a thickened heart muscle or cardiomyopathy‚ heart failure‚ arrhythmias and more. According to information compiled by the National Heart‚ Lung and Blood Institute‚ a person’s risk of cardiac arrest increases with age. It is rare in someone younger than 30. Genetic arrhythmias‚ problems with the structure of the heart or coronary arteries‚ heart inflammation and substance abuse are the main risk factors in younger people. Most cardiac arrests also occur in men and women’s risk increases after menopause. Unsurprisingly‚ the elephant in the room goes unmentioned by the mainstream media outlets. They refuse to discuss the possibility of the experimental mRNA COVID-19 shots playing a role in a young‚ healthy nurse going into cardiac arrest. In a recent press release‚ Pfizer acknowledged the increased risk of myocarditis and pericarditis following COVID-19 inoculation. Pfizer issued a press release Friday afternoon stating definitively that mRNA covid vaccines “show increased risks” of myocarditis + pericarditis. pic.twitter.com/BQ70xDIhJ0 — Antonio Sabato Jr (@AntonioSabatoJr) October 23‚ 2023 From Pfizer: Authorized or approved mRNA COVID-19 vaccines show increased risks of myocarditis (inflammation of the heart muscle) and pericarditis (inflammation of the lining outside the heart)‚ particularly within the first week following vaccination. For COMIRNATY‚ the observed risk is highest in males 12 through 17 years of age. Seek medical attention right away if you have any of the following symptoms after receiving the vaccine‚ particularly during the 2 weeks after receiving a dose of the vaccine: chest pain shortness of breath feelings of having a fast-beating‚ fluttering‚ or pounding heart

President Trump’s Town Hall With Hannity — FULL VIDEO

President Trump did a Town Hall with Sean Hannity this week and many people missed it. Most of us tuned out Fox News years ago‚ and even Hannity. Tucker was the last reason I tuned into Fox‚ and when he left‚ I left. So if you’re like me‚ you may not have even known about President Trump’s Town Hall‚ but it was fantastic and I want to make sure everyone can watch. Here’s a short clip of one of my favorite moments: President Trump on whether they are going to steal the election again: “WE’RE GONNA STOP THEM.” I personally don’t know how‚ but he sure says that with conviction – and I believe him pic.twitter.com/LojRIY2edD — DailyNoah.com (@DailyNoahNews) December 8‚ 2023 And I’ve also got the full video for you right here… Please enjoy:
