Genetic testing firm 23andMe confirmed Monday that hackers were able to access the data of 6.9 million users‚ about half the company’s customer base. The California-based company said hackers accessed 5.5 million profiles that were using a feature called DNA Relatives‚ which allows people to find genetic relatives. Hackers were also able to access family tree information from another 1.4 million DNA Relatives profiles. In some cases‚ the hackers gained access to users’ ancestry reports‚ zip codes‚ and birth years‚ 23andMe said. “23andMe has completed its investigation‚ assisted by third-party forensics experts. We are in the process of notifying affected customers‚ as required by law‚” the company said in a statement posted Saturday evening to 23andMe’s website. “We have taken steps to further protect customer data‚ including requiring all existing customers to reset their password and requiring two-step verification for all new and existing customers‚” the company said. Last week‚ 23andMe said hackers had accessed data from about 14‚000 users or 0.1% of its customers. In order to pull off the data breach‚ the hackers reused old usernames and passwords from other websites that had already been compromised‚ a tactic known as credential stuffing. “We have taken steps to further protect customer data‚ including requiring all existing customers to reset their password and requiring two-step verification for all new and existing customers‚” a company spokesperson told Fox Business. The company also said on Monday that it has not learned of “any reports of inappropriate use of the data after the leak.” In October‚ profile information from 23andMe customers reportedly started showing up on a dark web forum used by hackers. The company is currently working on notifying all customers who were affected by the breach‚ as required by law‚ although the timeline for when everyone will have been notified is not clear. Jewish students at Northeastern University in Boston encountered an anti-Israel demonstration taking place in their campus center as they tried to enter the building to attend a Shabbat dinner. The dinner‚ planned months in advance by the campus’s Chabad‚ was set to host 85 students Friday on the university’s Curry Student Center’s third floor. On the mezzanine below‚ dozens of anti-Israel students gathered for an eight-hour-long “sit-in” protest‚ organized by a group not officially recognized by the university. Many Jewish students did not know there was an anti-Israel protest‚ and after being forced to walk through it to get to their Shabbat meal‚ some entered the room nearly in tears. Anti-Israel students call to ‘globalize the intifada’ during protest at Northeastern University   “They were just shocked to the level of coming into the room almost crying‚” said Northeastern’s Chabad rabbi‚ Mendy Posner. “We’re inside here doing Shabbos and then downstairs‚ there’s a sign calling to globalize intifada.” The protesters hung several banners from railings in the atrium including one calling for a ceasefire in Gaza‚ one demanding their university to boycott Israel and one calling to “globalize the intifada.” “We all know what the two intifadas were and what they resulted in‚” Posner added. “When you say ‘globalize the intifada’ you mean that it’s not enough that Jews are being killed in Israel‚ it’s time to take it worldwide.” The protest was organized by Huskies for Palestine‚ and its location was announced just days before the Shabbat meal. “Recognize that an occupied people have a moral and legal right to pursue liberation and resist their oppressors by any means necessary‚” the group wrote in an Instagram post announcing the event which included their list of demands. It’s common knowledge at this point that pretty much every prediction ever made by climate activists has turned out to be completely false. But‚ for the most part‚ all along‚ there’s one thing these activists have been smart enough to do. They’ve typically made predictions that were pretty far out into the future. They didn’t say anything that could be proven wrong within a couple of months. They knew enough to create some distance between their prediction‚ and the day you could theoretically point to that prediction and say‚ “Well‚ that didn’t pan out.” There are a lot of examples of this phenomenon. There’s Leonard Nimoy‚ a.k.a. Mr. Spock‚ claiming in a 1978 television special that‚ “during the lifetime of our grandchildren‚ arctic cold and perpetual snow could turn most of the inhabitable portions of our planet into a polar desert.” That TV special was called “The Coming Ice Age.” Of course‚ by the time Mr. Spock’s prediction was falsifiable‚ he was near death‚ so no one was going to hold him accountable‚ or say “I told you so” while he was on his deathbed. Then there was that infamous 1989 article from the Associated Press‚ citing a “senior U.N. environmental official‚” saying‚ “entire nations could be wiped off the face of the Earth by rising sea levels if the global warming trend is not reversed by the year 2000.” Again‚ they’re putting some distance between the prediction‚ and the time you can prove them wrong.  A NASA scientist did the same thing in 2006‚ when he told NBC News that‚ “the world has a 10-year window of opportunity to take decisive action on global warming and avert catastrophe.” More recently‚ Greta Thunberg got in on the action in 2018‚ when she claimed‚ “A top climate scientist is warning that climate change will wipe out all of humanity unless we stop using fossil fuels over the next five years.” In all of these cases‚ the climate predictions weren’t even close to being true. Reality disproved all of them. But it took time for these predictions to “age out” and become clearly false. Most cultists are smart enough to design their claims so that they sound highly alarming at the time. And then‚ by the time you can validate these claims years later‚ most people have forgotten all about the whole thing. WATCH: The Matt Walsh Show A couple of months ago‚ there was a very notable exception to this general rule. There was a cult leader who slipped up‚ and made a prediction that could be proven wrong very quickly. I’m talking about this prediction from our climate czar‚ John Kerry. They’ll say this is indeed the hottest year ever‚ and that’s because “Mother Earth” doesn’t like your truck‚ or your grill‚ or the way you vote. None of these articles will mention the recent volcanic eruption in the Pacific Ocean‚ which blasted a huge plume of water vapor into the atmosphere. They won’t tell you how that likely trapped heat and raised the global temperatures. Instead‚ they’ll blame you for all the heat. What’s funny about this premise is‚ if we accept it as completely true for the sake of argument‚ then humans must also be responsible for the extremely cold temperatures that are also being recorded this year. It turns out it hasn’t been hot everywhere‚ contrary to what John Kerry says. Take a look at what’s happening in Europe right now. According to an article from yesterday in Reuters‚ for example‚ “Temperatures in Siberia dip to minus 56 Celsius as record snow blankets Moscow. … In the Russian capital‚ some of the biggest snowfalls ever seen on December 3 left swathes of Moscow blanketed in drifts of more than 35 cm of snow in just one day.” Most of Central and Eastern Europe was like this last week. They have never seen snow like this in recorded history. This is supposedly the hottest year ever recorded‚ and they’re experiencing record snowfall. But it gets better. If you want decisive proof that irony is still alive‚ despite every effort by climate activists to quash it forever‚ here it is. The snow was so bad last week that in Munich‚ the airport was completely covered in snow. Private planes were immobilized and in some cases‚ frozen in what looks like the take-off position‚ because snow stacked up on their tail sections. And reportedly‚ some of these planes were supposed to head to the COP-28 climate summit‚ which is underway right now in Dubai. You could not script this any better. It’s kind of like a dietician being late to a weight loss seminar because his car broke down in the Taco Bell drive-thru. The climate evangelists have gone full-circle‚ once again‚ headlong into self-parody. In the interest of full disclosure‚ even though it kind of ruins the joke‚ I should clarify that we don’t know for a fact that this particular plane in that video was heading to the COP-28 summit. According to some Internet sleuths‚ who looked at this aircraft and its registration number‚ it was parked for several days before this storm arrived. But we can assume‚ given the wide impact of this torrential snowstorm all across Europe‚ that some travel plans for this COP-28 summit were indeed disrupted. And that is‚ among other things‚ both deeply ironic and profoundly hilarious. It’s also not the first time something like this has happened. Back in March of 2009‚ when these nutjobs still used the term “global warming” instead of “climate change‚” they held a big rally in the nation’s capital. They were there to complain about how hot the world was getting. (Because‚ apparently‚ warming climates is always a bad thing‚ even though it often makes it easier to farm in huge portions of the world‚ and has many other benefits‚ but never mind that.) These climate activists gathered in Washington‚ D.C. to send the message that the world was getting way too hot. And right on cue‚ a historic snowstorm completely shut down the whole protest. Watch: The solar panels on the Greenpeace truck‚ which read “America can stop global warming‚” were frozen over. It’s a remarkable clip‚ for so many reasons. For example‚ you also heard the now-familiar retort from one of the climate activists in that clip. She insists that‚ “Weather is different from climate. Just because you have a snowstorm doesn’t mean the warming isn’t happening.”  That’s an important line‚ and a familiar one. It’s also totally false. The literary dictionary definition of “climate” is: “The weather conditions prevailing in an area in general or over a long period.” Saying weather is different from climate is like saying water is different from H2O. It doesn’t make sense. And you can tell the woman doesn’t really believe it. You can tell she has no idea what it’s supposed to mean‚ because she laughs about it a few seconds later. But it lets her reconcile the fact that her beliefs are being contradicted by reality‚ right in front of her. It gives her something to say‚ in a desperate attempt to avoid complete humiliation. That clip‚ in retrospect‚ belongs in a time capsule. It marked one of the last times climate activists would ever talk about global warming with a straight face again. They transitioned‚ very soon afterwards‚ to exclusively talking about “climate change‚” instead of global warming. And the reason is obvious. “Climate change” gives them a catch-all they can always blame‚ in any context. They don’t have to risk any more embarrassing photo ops‚ where they’re whining about global warming as they’re getting pummeled by snow. When the villain is “climate change‚” then you can complain whether it’s hot‚ or snowy‚ or anywhere in between. That’s the advantage of talking about “climate” instead of “warming.” Climate change is proven no matter what happens. It is unfalsifiable‚ which is also why it’s false.  So this is how it’s gone. From ice age‚ to global warming‚ to climate change. Getting broader and less specific which each change.  According to NASA‚ “… global warming became the dominant popular term in June 1988‚ when NASA scientist James E. Hansen had testified to Congress about climate‚ specifically referring to global warming.” Then‚ people started to notice it was getting colder than it had ever been. In 1994‚ for example‚ the midwestern and eastern portions of this country experienced a cold wave that caused more than 100 deaths. The country saw its coldest temperatures in nearly a century. And so once again‚ the lexicon had to change. As CNN reports‚ the term ‘climate change‚’ “became more popular in the 2000s.” The point of all these changes isn’t just to save face. With every change‚ activists give themselves more latitude to justify all of their other political goals in the name of “saving the environment.” At the COP-28 summit the other day‚ John Kerry pledged to shut down all coal power plants everywhere in the world (except‚ presumably‚ China‚ which is constantly opening new coal plants every week‚ and which doesn’t remotely care what John Kerry says about anything). Kerry’s plan would destroy the world economy. It would do precisely nothing to stop the climate from changing. But you’re supposed to think that it’s a reasonable thing to do‚ because we’re in a “climate emergency.” Everything is on the table. Hillary Clinton has been doing her part to sound the alarm about this fake emergency. Recently she insisted that climate change is somehow killing people due to extreme heat. It’s not even close. Extreme cold kills far more people than extreme heat. To give just one data point‚ according to the Lancet‚ there were roughly 800 deaths due to heat in England and Wales between 2000 and 2019. By contrast‚ there were more than 60‚000 deaths associated with extreme cold. And Forbes reports that in this country‚ “the CDC’s National Center for Health Statistics Compressed Mortality Database‚ which is based on actual death certificates‚ indicates that roughly twice as many people die of cold in a given year than of heat.”  This is kind of obvious‚ when you think about it. Someone exposed to cold can develop  hypothermia literally within minutes. In most cases‚ the heat will not effect you that quickly‚ or at all. Even in 90 degree temperatures‚ if you find a shady spot and have enough water to drink‚ you can lay around outside all day and be perfectly fine.  But the point of what Hillary Clinton was saying wasn’t really about extreme heat‚ or extreme cold. Her goal is to convince you that a lot of people are dying due to the “climate.” Effectively‚ that’s like saying a lot of people are dying due to the fact that they live on planet Earth. It’s completely meaningless. Talking about “deaths related to climate” is like talking about “deaths related to physical existence.” It’s a category so broad as to be incoherent. But you’re just supposed to buy into it‚ and smile and wave as hordes of so-called “climate refugees” flood into this country. That’s all Hillary Clinton cares about. Our public health establishment‚ meanwhile‚ wants to use “climate change” to explain away the next fake pandemic‚ which they can use to gain even more control over your life. Two decades ago‚ the establishment Right made the same arguments about the “war on terror.” They told us terrorism was an existential threat and we therefore had to sign away our rights to FISA courts‚ which very soon‚ would be used by the FBI to harass and imprison their political opponents. Now the Left is using “climate change” in much the same way. It’s an unkillable‚ ever-evolving enemy‚ and in order to combat it‚ we’re told we need to destroy everything that’s important to civilization.  To that end‚ the Department of Agriculture in Ireland recently considered a plan to kill 200‚000 cows to reduce emissions. They’re thinking about literal animal sacrifices to save the climate‚ even though — by the climate alarmists’ own standards‚ Ireland barely emits any CO2 into the atmosphere at all. If there’s any distinction between climate alarmists and most cultists‚ it’s that you can only string cultists along for so long. Historically‚ most cults disband once the cult predicts a doomsday‚ and gives a specific date‚ and then the date passes without any asteroid impact or anything like that. But the climate cult is different. They can make prediction after prediction‚ and even though they’re all wrong‚ they get to keep making more predictions. They get to keep flying in private jets to climate conferences where they lecture us on how to behave — what cars to drive‚ what food to eat‚ what stoves to use‚ and so on. And in the meantime‚ the corporate press will defend them. A reporter for Axios‚ responding to criticism that all of these private jets might harm the environment‚ wrote this on social media: “To all those complaining about world leaders flying to attend a meeting on climate change‚ you’re not saying anything original. Fact is‚ ya can’t do a zoom call with 190 countries‚ and face to face talks move the needle the most.” The Axios reporter never explains why a big Zoom call wouldn’t be possible‚ exactly. He also never explains why some of these world leaders can’t fly on commercial planes. You’re just supposed to accept it‚ because ultimately‚ they have power and you don’t. That’s the actual explanation.  And a couple of years ago‚ at another climate summit‚ John Kerry himself made that explicit. Watch: Arrest‚ charge‚ prosecute and indict John Kerry for the crimes of perjury and conspiracy to defraud the United States. He’s just too important to follow the rules that you’re supposed to obey. That’s because the rules really have nothing to do with the climate‚ or with global warming‚ or any of that. The point of all the regulations is to establish that people like John Kerry are superior.  In the end‚ that’s what all of this has always been about. 

There are a lot of threats facing America these days. One is the threat of fiscal collapse. Mid-to-long-term‚ America’s economic system is increasingly unsustainable. We’re running a $33 trillion national debt; our actual national debt‚ including unfunded liabilities‚ runs another $80 trillion over the next 75 years. Virtually all of those figures are driven by Medicare and Social Security shortfalls. This means‚ sooner or later‚ we’re going to have to radically increase taxes‚ cut benefits‚ or inflate our currency. Another threat is the threat of foreign aggression. The United States is lucky in that we are surrounded by an ocean on one side‚ Mexicans to the South‚ and Canadians to the North. But that doesn’t mean we’re invulnerable. As the world becomes a more dangerous place — as American power recedes — we will feel that everywhere from our pocketbook to our military budget. American hegemony has created a global economy which has paid off for the American consumer in extraordinary ways. That can easily be reversed — and indicators are‚ it will be. A third thread is the threat of internal moral collapse. Indeed‚ this threat is the chief factor behind the first two threats. As our communities die‚ our local institutions lose credibility and loyalty‚ we stop having children‚ and our economy turns upside down. The government grows‚ but the population that has to fund it doesn’t; government spending increases‚ but the population supporting it doesn’t. As the post-American future takes hold at home‚ it will similarly take hold abroad‚ with our enemies ready to fill the gap. WATCH: The Ben Shapiro Show That last threat is the truly frightening one. It is the reason for America’s polarized politics: We once shared basic values‚ particularly at the local level‚ but now‚ those values have fallen away‚ replaced with hatred and rage at Christians and white Americans. Take‚ for example‚ James Carville. Carville is a Clintonian political voice and a person who has routinely urged the Democratic Party to move away from its most extreme and radical positions‚ understanding they are electoral poison. But now‚ he has apparently decided that the Republican Party in general is a threat to the United States — that it is a Christian nationalist party. What does he mean by that term? Apparently‚ he doesn’t mean that many Republicans prefer to see a revitalized church at the center of American life‚ a proposition with which I wholeheartedly agree as an Orthodox Jew. No‚ he means the Republican Party is — in the words of far-Left Daily Kos founder‚ Markos Moulitsas — an American Taliban. Carville said on Bill Maher’s show on Friday night‚ “(House Speaker) Mike Johnson and what he believes is one of the greatest threats we have today to the United States. I know these people. (Christian nationalists). This is a bigger threat than Al Qaeda to this country. … They have the Speaker of the House; they got at least two Supreme Court Justices‚ maybe more. In Carville’s view‚ two Supreme Court justices and the Speaker of the House are leading the charge for a Christian theocracy. There is also grifter extraordinaire Ibram X. Kendi‚ who says his fellow Americans are generally white supremacists. This‚ apparently‚ will be the Democratic Party’s campaign in 2024: Republicans are Christian theocrats and white supremacists. The entire Republican Party is dominated by a desire for white Christian fascism — or something like that. The response‚ presumably‚ would be an alliance of the secularists and people of color. Not shockingly‚ that’s precisely the coalition the Democratic Party seems to be wooing. And they are doing so with ugly scare tactics. Catholic leaders slammed the Federal Bureau of Investigation on Tuesday after the House Judiciary Committee discovered federal agents interviewed a priest and a choir director as part of an investigation into so-called Radical-Traditional Catholics as potential domestic terrorists. “The latest revelations only raise more questions about the illegitimate targeting of Catholics by the FBI‚” CatholicVote President Brian Burch told The Daily Wire in an emailed statement. “We now know that the FBI effort involved at least four field offices‚ authorized the use of undercover agents to infiltrate Catholic parishes‚ and used a Catholic priest and a choir director to inform on one of their parishioners.” The House Judiciary Committee and the Select Subcommittee on the Weaponization of the Federal Government launched an investigation into the FBI earlier this year after former agent-turned-whistleblower Kyle Seraphin leaked an internal memo from the bureau’s Richmond Field Office‚ which painted certain “radical-traditionalist Catholics” as violent extremists and proposed opportunities for the FBI to infiltrate Catholic churches as a form of “threat mitigation.” “Despite every effort to downplay the significance of this abuse of power‚ the FBI still owes Catholics and all concerned Americans answers as to who was behind the effort to spy on Catholics‚ how far and wide this effort went inside the FBI‚ whether it is ongoing‚ and whether anyone has been held accountable‚” Burch added. Whistleblower disclosures in the report said FBI authorities interviewed a priest and choir director of The Society of Saint Pius (SSPX) — an international priestly society promoting traditional practices affiliated with a Catholic church in Richmond‚ Virginia‚ between November and December 2022. Although federal agents refused to disclose the contents of the interviews‚ the committee noted the whistleblower’s allegations showed the FBI directly communicated with Catholic clergy and staff about parishioners practicing their faith around the same time the analysts started drafting the memorandum. During a hearing on Tuesday‚ FBI Director Christopher Wray claimed that the interview of the priest and choir director was part of “an investigation of a specific individual who was amassing Molotov cocktails and posting about killing people. And it does not surprise me that there were people who knew that subject in that investigation.” Likewise‚ the FBI told Fox News that the interviews highlighted by the committee’s report were conducted by the Richmond Field Office during an investigation of an individual allegedly threatening violence who has since been arrested. “The interviews were not conducted for the domain perspective as characterized by the report‚” the FBI said. Committee members found the memo sparked confusion among FBI employees after failing to define the meaning of “radical traditionalist Catholics” when preparing their anti-Catholic document‚ which the report said would likely still operate in the bureau’s systems without the revelations of whistleblower disclosures. The report also discovered the memo circulated to numerous field offices around the country‚ including field offices in Los Angeles‚ Milwaukee‚ and Portland. The alleged findings appeared to contradict previous testimony from FBI Director Wray‚ who claimed the operation was limited to one office. Missouri Republican Senator Josh Hawley pressed Wray about the memo’s alleged expansion during the Tuesday hearing. But Wray rejected the notion that other field offices were involved as “garble.” “And let me explain why‚” Wray said. “I mean‚ why I say that the only involvement of the two other field offices was the Richmond authors of the product‚ which included two sentences or something or thereabouts‚ referencing each of these other offices’ cases. And they sent those sentences about the other office cases to them‚ not the whole product‚ and asked them‚ ‘Hey‚ did we describe your case right?'” “That’s all the other offices had‚” he added. “So it was a single field office product‚ and I stand by that.” Additional findings in the report included the FBI labeled Americans who are pro-life‚ pro-family‚ and those who support the Church rejecting radical gender theory teachings as potential domestic extremists. Meanwhile‚ at least one undercover agent allegedly spied on Catholics at their religious services as the bureau attempted to develop sources among Catholic clergy and church leadership. Ashley McGuire‚ a senior fellow at the Catholic Association and co-host of the nationally syndicated radio show‚ “Conversations with Consequences‚” called the findings “a major wake up call to any and all Americans who care about basic civil liberties.” “While Catholic Churches as well as pro-life pregnancy care centers are under constant attack from actual violent extremists‚ the FBI had the audacity to investigate and spy on those targeted by these crimes‚” McGuire told The Daily Wire in an emailed statement. “The notion that traditional Catholics pose some kind of national threat is so absurd it exceeds even Hollywood’s imagination.” “And yet the FBI‚ an agency designed to protect Americans and their rights‚ was spying on Catholics everywhere from their choir lofts to their rectories‚” she added. Almost immediately after the document leaked‚ FBI authorities spiraled into damage control and purged the ant-Catholic memo from its system‚ saying the bureau would “never conduct investigative activities or open an investigation based solely on First Amendment protected activity.” “While our standard practice is to not comment on specific intelligence products‚ this particular field office product — disseminated only within the FBI — regarding racially or ethnically motivated violent extremism does not meet the exacting standards of the FBI‚” a spokesperson told The Daily Wire. “Upon learning of the document‚ FBI Headquarters quickly began taking action to remove the document from FBI systems and conduct a review of the basis for the document.” The FBI told Fox News that it conducted an internal review of the memo and found “no malicious intent to target Catholics or members of any other religious faith‚ and did not identify any investigative steps taken as a result of the product.”

Palestinian refugee aid group‚ and he repeatedly pivoted to talk about the food and other necessary supplies that were being brought in on UNRWA trucks. And on Saturday‚ the IDF said that it found dozens of rockets hidden under boxes marked with UNRWA’s insignia‚ in northern Gaza‚” Golodryga asked first about the rockets‚ noting that they had been found hidden under UNRWA boxes — and that the question was whether or not UNRWA had smuggled those rockets in under the guise of humanitarian aid. Golodryga went on to reference another report‚ saying that one of the hostages who was released back to Israel had told officials that he was being held by an UNRWA teacher. “This teacher locked the victim away‚ barely provided food and neglected medical needs‚” she said. So on any given day here‚ we are distributing over 50‚000 bags of flour to families so that they can provide for themselves. We account for that‚” he said. “Does it bother you then at all that some of these trucks may be bringing‚ secretly smuggling in rockets or that UNRWA teachers are hiding abductees allegedly?” Golodryga pressed again. “Look‚ our trucks are not bringing in rockets‚” White said‚ immediately pivoting back to his previous talking point. “Our trucks are bringing in wheat flour. They’re bringing in supplies that help families eke out a very basic existence. We have a very clear system of accountability. Every bag of flour that is provided is cross-referenced against people’s national identity number. And so‚ you know‚ there are now hundreds of thousands of bags‚ literally wheat bags‚ wheat flour bags in Gaza with the UNRWA logo on them. And they have all gone to families so that they can feed themselves.”
