‘Have You Apologized?’ Congressman Grills DOJ Official About Targeting of Catholic Father Mark Houck

Republican Texas Rep. Chip Roy grilled the assistant attorney general for civil rights at the Department of Justice on Tuesday over the DOJ’s targeting of pro-life activists like Catholic father Mark Houck. Kristen Clarke‚ who oversees investigations into violations of the Freedom of Access to Clinic Entrances Act‚ came before the House Judiciary Subcommittee on the Constitution and Limited Government on Tuesday for a hearing on the “Oversight of the Department of Justice Civil Rights Division.” The FACE Act protects both abortion clinics and pregnancy centers‚ but the Biden DOJ has largely used it to prosecute pro-life individuals. During the hearing‚ Clarke told lawmakers‚ “Please know that the division is committed to even handed enforcement of the FACE Act.” Roy drew attention to the fact that Clarke’s division charged at least 26 individuals with FACE Act violations in 2022 and more in 2023. “Even under your watch‚ it’s at least 35 to 1 or 2‚” Roy emphasized. “That is not even-handed. It’s far from even handed. And importantly‚ Mark Houck‚ who was targeted‚ had a raid of his home‚ prosecuted under this‚ was acquitted by a jury! Have you apologized to him on behalf of the Department of Justice for that grave violation of his civil rights? Having his family have to watch him being raided at his home? And then he’s acquitted by a federal jury? Have you apologized to him?” Chip Roy: "Have you apologized to [Mark Houck] on behalf of the DOJ for that grave violation of his civil rights? Having his family have to watch him being raided at his home?"DOJ's Kristen Clarke: "We follow the facts and apply the law‚ that is our job…" pic.twitter.com/r8XhJWgJZH— Mary Margaret Olohan (@MaryMargOlohan) December 5‚ 2023 “We follow the facts and apply the law‚ that is our job‚ and we welcome opportunities to engage with other pro-life groups that may be experiencing threats or acts of violence‚” she responded. “So the answer to that is no‚” Roy said. The congressman was referring to the Catholic father of seven who was arrested and charged with violating the FACE Act in September 2022. The DOJ’s FACE Act charges stemmed from a 2021 incident outside a Philadelphia-based Planned Parenthood where Houck pushed an abortion clinic volunteer who was repeatedly harassing his son‚ Mark Jr. Local authorities ultimately dismissed the matter—until the Biden DOJ re-upped it in response to the overturning of Roe v. Wade.  Mark Houck and his wife‚ Ryan-Marie Houck‚ believe they were targeted by the Biden DOJ in an effort to intimidate‚ silence‚ and scare the family for their pro-life work—praying outside abortion clinics for the women headed inside to abort their unborn babies.  In November‚ the Houck’s sued the Biden administration for “malicious and retaliatory prosecution.” No @chiproytx my family has not received an apology from the @FBI‚ @TheJusticeDept ‚ or @KristenClarkeJD. My dm's are open for that apology any time now!@FoxNews @seanhannity @benshapiro @realDailyWire @NEWSMAX https://t.co/visX9f2p5S— Mark Houck for Congress (@Houck4Congress) December 5‚ 2023 Since 2022‚ the DOJ’s Civil Rights Division has charged dozens of pro-life individuals with FACE Act violations. In 2023‚ the DOJ charged four individuals with FACE Act violations related to attacks on pregnancy centers in Florida‚ though at least 88 pregnancy centers and 218 churches have been attacked by pro-abortion vandals since the leak of the draft opinion indicating that Roe v. Wade would be overturned‚ according to CatholicVote. Clarke has openly supported abortion and condemned pro-life pregnancy centers‚ which offer aid to women who are pregnant and need help. In the past‚ Clarke called pro-life pregnancy care centers “predatory” and “fake clinics‚” and claimed they are part of a “coordinated strategy to tear down Roe‚” as The Washington Free Beacon’s Chuck Ross reported. Pro-abortion groups described her as “exactly the accomplished civil rights attorney who will bolster civil rights enforcement and ensure equal justice for all‚” when President Joe Biden nominated her for the Civil Rights Division position in 2021. US Army Enlists University of Arkansas at Little Rock To Fight Online “Misinformation”

If you're tired of censorship and dystopian threats against civil liberties‚ subscribe to Reclaim The Net. The US Army has announced a “combat” partnership (effective through 2025) with the publicly-funded University of Arkansas at Little Rock – and what they plan to “combat” together is none other than whatever is deemed to be online disinformation‚ but also‚ something defined as “cognitive threats.” And by that‚ they don’t mean all manner of government and formally or otherwise government-associated entities falling over themselves trying to pass off various forms of speech suppression and censorship as fighting “disinformation.” But there’s no denying that this‚ too‚ could fall under the definition of misinformation and cognitive threats offered here – namely‚ the goal is “to detect and combat bad actors online who are trying to manipulate how and what populations think.” But if an actor is perceived as “good” – does manipulating how and what populations (note the plural) think‚ then magically become a good thing? Sarcasm aside – the new initiative is backed with a grant worth $5 million. What the deal reveals is that more and more universities in the US are getting “hired” – whether by non-profits‚ or‚ again‚ the government – to work toward this goal via various dedicated research hubs. In UA Little Rock’s case it’s called the Collaboration for Social Media and Online Behavioral Studies (COSMOS) Research Center. Beside the US Army’s own Research Office‚ another key player in putting this project together was Senator John Boozman. “War is on the social media platforms‚” is one of the comments cited in reports about this development‚ but curiously‚ it doesn’t come from a military representative but a budding academic with the COSMOS Research Center‚ graduate assistant Mano Har. UA Little Rock’s specific task here will be to develop a tool that will detect bots active on social media‚ and this tool will be web-based – but also based on the school apparently already using “AI” to harvest troves of data from social networks. It’s not exactly explained who’s responsible for the omnipresent algorithms’ biases being there in the first place – but now the new tool’s job will not be to get rid of them‚ rather‚ it is to “prevent those who would exploit the biases in algorithms to further narratives and agendas.” (Obviously‚ if they are classified as “bad” actors. “Good” actors may or may not be given a pass trying to accomplish that same task.) Harvard Research Group That Has Received Government Funding‚ To Study “Governance Infrastructure” of the Internet

If you're tired of censorship and dystopian threats against civil liberties‚ subscribe to Reclaim The Net. Harvard’s Berkman Klein Center for Internet &; Society and a non-profit are coming together in the hope of devising what they call a governance infrastructure of the internet – via something called Applied Social Media Lab (ASML). For those wondering‚ who even asked for the internet to receive a “governance infrastructure” and what it’s goals and results are supposed to be?‚ some hints as to the answer to that question can be found in the fact this above all concerns Big Tech and its platforms (i.e.‚ the highly influential segments of the internet)‚ and then‚ there’s the issue of who’s bankrolling the effort. Namely‚ Harvard’s new lab is possible thanks to a donation from Project Liberty. Harvard’s Berkman Klein Center for Internet &; Society has received money from government entities‚ and has in the past counted the US State Department (and the USAID agency) and the World Economic Forum (WEF) among the donors‚ as well as the likes of the Bill &; Melinda Gates Foundation‚ Wikimedia Foundation‚ Omidyar Network‚ and corporations ranging from Google and Reuters to AT&;T. And this is not an attempt isolated to one university: Project Liberty is involved in establishing similar outfits in other universities such as Stanford and Georgetown. Billionaire Frank McCourt‚ who made his money in various sports franchises both in the US and Europe‚ is‚ judging by his statements made late last year‚ now spending most of his time “shoring up our political system and society‚ focusing on the foibles of the internet‚ through a network of companies.” That certainly tracks with what Project Liberty is doing now at Harvard and elsewhere. And McCourt is these days saying that the purpose of these exercises is to create “a better internet.” Another vague phrase that means nothing until its meaning is explained‚ but according to reports‚ Project Liberty is not currently in the mood to do that. Specifically‚ one of the questions still without the answer is if this “better internet” will come about with any input from the right wing/conservatives‚ and also‚ in what way social networks can be managed “ethically.” The involved universities are also not providing answers to these questions. However‚ critics have something to say about all this. “The issues Harvard seeks to address through this social media lab – ranging from misinformation to content governance – are entirely subjective‚” said Article III Project to The College Fix‚ adding: “Institutions like Harvard should be bastions of free speech‚ but instead‚ projects like this one will likely only suppress freedom of speech on social media.” The post Harvard Research Group That Has Received Government Funding‚ To Study “Governance Infrastructure” of the Internet appeared first on Reclaim The Net.

Liz Cheney in a Manger: The View's 2024 'Savior' from Trump Is Born!

Tis the Christmas season‚ so naturally the liberal ladies would be praising the birth of their “savior‚” but it wasn’t Jesus they were praising‚ on Tuesday. It was former Republican Congresswoman Liz Cheney who announced that she was thinking about running as a third-party candidate if former President Trump won the GOP nomination in 2024‚ with the goal of spoiling the election in favor of Democrats. “Former Republican Congresswoman Liz Cheney continues to ring alarm bells about keeping you-know-who from ever getting back in the White House. She's holding members of her party accountable and claims she's even willing to split a third-party ticket‚” announced moderator Whoopi Goldberg at the top of the show. Faux conservative and former Trump staffer Alyssa Farah Griffin agreed with Cheney that the worst was coming for America. “If you thought the first term of Trump was bad‚ buckle up‚” she warned. She did disagree with Cheney on how imminent the danger was. “Liz Cheney said we're sleepwalking into dictatorship. I’d say we're careening into it‚” she critiqued. “Donald Trump is telling us what he’s going to do in a second term and we need to listen to it.”     Farah Griffin went with the ye olde ‘the guardrails are coming off’ trope: [Trump’s] worst instincts were stifled by two things: Him not knowing how the Hell the federal government works and people saying‚ “Yo‚ you got to run for reelection.” Those things are not the case in a second election. He knows how to weaponize the federal government. He’s planning to fire civil servants with expertise and non-partisan people‚ staff the government with loyalists. He has an enemies list‚ which by the way‚ that includes the media. He came after MSNBC‚ he will truly go after the media in a second term. “I cannot raise enough alarm bells about how dangerous he is and how he needs to be stopped at all costs‚” she proclaimed. It was racist and anti-Semitic co-host Sunny Hostin who elevated Cheney to the status of the savior of the world. “Are people hearing these alarms? Because you're not the only one that’s raising these alarms. I mean‚ we're seeing people with great credibility raising these alarms…I never thought I would say that Liz Cheney is probably our savior here‚” she praised. So many alarms! Later on in the show‚ they were joined by always-incompetent White House Press Secretary Karine Jean-Pierre and asked her to back up Cheney with an official position on Trump from the White House. “Over the weekend‚ Liz Cheney said a second Trump presidency means the U.S. would be sleepwalking into a dictatorship; Alyssa mentioned she thought we were – we would be careening into a dictatorship. How serious in the administration's view does the former President present?” Hostin wondered. Despite initially saying she wanted “to be careful because‚ in my position‚ I can't talk about 2024 or any upcoming elections‚” things Karine[d] out of control: But what I can say is this‚ we have to remember why this President decided to run back in 2020. He believed that our democracy was under attack. Right? He believed the soul of our nation needed to be saved‚ needed to be protected‚ and that's why he ran. It’s unclear if gold‚ frankincense‚ and myrrh will be featured gifts in the next “View Your Deal” segment. Pa rum pum pum pum. The transcript is below. Click "expand" to read: ABC’s The View December 5‚ 2023 11:02:57 a.m. Eastern WHOOPI GOLDBERG: So‚ here's what's going on. Former Republican Congresswoman Liz Cheney continues to ring alarm bells about keeping you-know-who from ever getting back in the White House. She's holding members of her party accountable and claims she's even willing to split a third-party ticket. (…) 11:05:48 a.m. Eastern ALYSSA FARAH GRIFFIN: If you thought the first term of Trump was bad‚ buckle up. Liz Cheney said we're sleepwalking into dictatorship. I’d say we're careening into it. Donald Trump is telling us what he’s going to do in a second term and we need to listen to it. [Applause] He says that in the first term a lot of the worst instincts were stifled by two things: Him not knowing how the Hell the federal government works and people saying‚ “Yo‚ you got to run for reelection.” Those things are not the case in a second election. He knows how to weaponize the federal government. He’s planning to fire civil servants with expertise and non-partisan people‚ staff the government with loyalists. He has an enemies list‚ which by the way‚ that includes the media. He came after MSNBC‚ he will truly go after the media in a second term. JOY BEHAR: That's us. FARAH GRIFFIN: And we can't take him lightly. Before I can tell you‚ right before I resigned I was in an Oval Office meeting with a dozen other staffers‚ and somebody had -- he thinks -- leaked a story about him going to the bunker during the George Floyd protest. And he said‚ “Whoever did that should be executed.” He’s used that terminology – He’s used it talking about chairman Miley. I cannot raise enough alarm bells about how dangerous he is and how he needs to be stopped at all costs. [Applause] SUNNY HOSTIN: But I do wonder‚ are people listening? Are people hearing these alarms? Because you're not the only one that’s raising these alarms. I mean‚ we're seeing people with great credibility raising these alarms‚ and the polls – I know Whoopi hates the polls – but it just seems like the very feeling in the country is‚ he's going to be the nominee no matter what. And I will say this‚ I never thought I would say that Liz Cheney is probably our savior here‚ because she voted 93 percent of the time with Trump. (…) 11:16:29 a.m. Eastern HOSTIN: Over the weekend‚ Liz Cheney said a second Trump presidency means the U.S. would be sleepwalking into a dictatorship; Alyssa mentioned she thought we were – we would be careening into a dictatorship. How serious in the administration's view does the former President present? WH PRESS SECY. KARINE JEAN-PIERRE: So‚ want to be careful because in my position‚ I can't talk about 2024 or any upcoming elections. But what I can say is this‚ we have to remember why this President decided to run back in 2020. He believed that our democracy was under attack. Right? He believed the soul of our nation needed to be saved‚ needed to be protected‚ and that's why he ran. And since his presidency‚ even obviously before then‚ during the last campaign‚ he has talked about protecting our democracy. He's talked about everything that we need to do to fight for our democracy. And it's not just us. It’s not just all of us here having this conversation or the President. In 2022‚ in 2023‚ after those – and currently in this election – after the midterm in 2022‚ specifically you saw a majority of Americans say‚ they want our democracy to be protected. They want our freedoms to be protected. For example‚ women being able to make a decision on their own bodies to be protected. [Applause] And so the President stands with the majority of the American people on those issues and so many others obviously. And here's the thing‚ I'll say this as it relates to January 6th‚ what we saw on January 6th in 2021. It was dangerous‚ horrific‚ and it was an attack on our democracy. The President has spoken to that multiple times about how dangerous that day was. And it is wrong‚ it is wrong to want to suspend our Constitution. It is wrong to want to turn over the will of the people. It is wrong to use rhetoric for violence. It is wrong‚ it is wrong‚ it is wrong. And the president‚ again‚ stands with the majority of the American people when it comes to protecting our democracy. (…)

'How Is That Acceptable?' MSNBC Shuns Expertise To Shame Israeli President

MSNBC’s Ana Cabrera tried to shame Israeli President Isaac Herzog on her Tuesday show by asking if it was “acceptable to you” that an IDF spokesperson told CNN that it estimates that the civilian-to-combatant death ratio in Gaza is 2:1. Despite all the emotional manipulation surrounding this topic from the media‚ Cabrera took it a step further by ignoring an urban warfare expert she had on earlier in the program that said such ratios are in line with other recent operations. That expert was retired Maj. John Spencer and Cabrera asked him‚ “This really shocked me. An IDF spokesman told CNN yesterday that the Israeli military believes an average of two civilians are being killed to every Hamas fighter. Two-to-one.  How is that acceptable?”     That Cabrera was shocked says more about her and her unwillingness to educate herself on such matters than it does about Israel‚ Gaza‚ or anything else. It also says something that Cabrera omitted the spokesperson said 2:1 was "perhaps unique in the world." As for Spencer‚ he provided something that is badly missing in the media: historical context‚ “So‚ unfortunately is that‚ you know‚ the civilian casualties are 90% of modern wars and that number is-- actually is equivalent to operations even the U.S. supported like the Battle of Mosul in 2017 where 5‚000 ISIS fighters in a city of 700‚000 and there were 10‚000 civilian casualties. Two-to-one.” Cabrera than interrupted‚ “But there are said to be like 20-plus-thousand Hamas fighters. So‚ are we going to see 40‚ 50‚000 civilian deaths?” Spencer said likely not‚ “because of the fact that I think we have seen the height of that‚ based on the operations that are unfolding‚ but when Hamas‚ which is the textbook of trying to get their own civilians-- I've never seen this‚ where they literally are forcing civilians to stay‚ ISIS did that too‚ but at this scale and where the civilians don't have a place to go‚ although there's IDP locations.” He also warned about taking Cabrera’s feelings to their logical conclusion‚ “this is a test of the Western way of warfare‚ right? We all watch every strike‚ every moment‚ every day. What does that mean if somebody like a Hamas in the future does this‚ takes a city‚ a massive city and says‚ look‚ because of the cost‚ ‘I own this city now. You can't do anything about it.’” All very good points that were promptly ignored as about 50 minutes later‚ Cabrera welcomed Herzog‚ “I understand you're making efforts to protect the civilians‚ but we’ve all seen the pictures of the destruction‚ the desperation and the death toll is climbing‚ in fact‚ an IDF spokesman confirmed yesterday that the military believes two civilians have been killed in Gaza for every Hamas militant. Is that acceptable to you?” Herzog‚ the former leader of the Labor Party‚ claimed to be unaware of the statement‚ but added‚ “this war is a war that is not only between Israel and Hamas. It's a war that is intended really‚ truly‚ to save Western civilization‚ to save the values of Western civilization.” Spencer didn’t say it‚ but it was heavily implied that Israel is facing a double standard in how it conducts military operations and he brought data to back his claim. Yet‚ Cabrera and much of the rest of the media don’t care.  Here is a transcript for the December 5 show: MSNBC Ana Cabrera Reports 12/5/2023 10:06 PM ET ANA CABRERA: This really shocked me. An IDF spokesman told CNN yesterday that the Israeli military believes an average of two civilians are being killed to every Hamas fighter. Two-to-one.  JOHN SPENCER: Yeah.  CABRERA: How is that acceptable?  SPENCER: So‚ unfortunately is that‚ you know‚ the civilian casualties are 90% of modern wars and that number is-- actually is equivalent to operations even the U.S. supported like the Battle of Mosul in 2017 where 5‚000 ISIS fighters in a city of 700‚000 and there were 10‚000 civilian casualties. Two-to-one. CABRERA: But there are said to be like 20-plus-thousand Hamas fighters. So‚ are we going to see 40‚ 50‚000 civilian deaths?  SPENCER: I don't think so‚ but‚ I mean‚ because of the fact that I think we have seen the height of that‚ based on the operations that are unfolding‚ but when Hamas‚ which is the textbook of trying to get their own civilians-- I've never seen this‚ where they literally are forcing civilians to stay‚ ISIS did that too‚ but at this scale and where the civilians don't have a place to go‚ although there's IDP locations.  I mean‚ Israel is not striking there because there is no reason to. Israel’s going where Hamas is‚ so there has to be a point of Hamas having ownership of this and how hard this is‚ but this is a test of the Western way of warfare‚ right? We all watch every strike‚ every moment‚ every day. What does that mean if somebody like a Hamas in the future does this‚ takes a city‚ a massive city and says‚ look‚ because of the cost‚ “I own this city now. You can't do anything about it.”  … 10:56 AM ET CABRERA: I understand you're making efforts to protect the civilians‚ but we’ve all seen the pictures of the destruction‚ the desperation and the death toll is climbing‚ in fact‚ an IDF spokesman confirmed yesterday that the military believes two civilians have been killed in Gaza for every Hamas militant. Is that acceptable to you?  ISAAC HERZOG: I’m unaware of this quote by an IDF spokesperson‚ but I will say the following: this war is a war that is not only between Israel and Hamas. It's a war that is intended really‚ truly‚ to save Western civilization‚ to save the values of Western civilization.  We are attacked by a jihadist network‚ an empire of evil emanating from Tehran with its forks in Lebanon with Hezbollah‚ and Hamas in Gaza‚ with the Houthis in Yemen‚ this empire is in Iraq‚ and this empire wants to conquer the entire Middle East‚ and if it weren’t for us‚ Europe would be next and the United States follows. I remind all about 9/11 and thereafter‚ meaning there are extreme fundamentalists with thoughts‚ that want all of us out and that’s what we’re facing and the world has to understand it. We didn’t want this war‚ God forbid‚ we went through hell‚ but we have to defend our people and enable everybody to go back to the region and live in peace‚ and that's what we are doing for the sake of the entire world.

WORST Censorship of November: Big Tech Election Interference and More

Americans just celebrated the quintessential US holiday‚ Thanksgiving‚ but Big Tech was far more dedicated to attacking freedom than celebrating it. Multiple Big Tech companies‚ including Google‚ TikTok‚ Meta‚ and LinkedIn‚ targeted President Joe Biden‘s 2024 election opponents online. YouTube removed videos on two Steven Crowder channels for featuring the previously-censored Dan Bongino. The video platform also censored Sen. Ted Cruz (R-TX) for discussing an MRC exposé of Hamas-tied propaganda. Human Events Senior Editor Jack Posobiec was censored on X (formerly Twitter) for sharing video footage of the Jan. 6 Capitol protest apparently showing law enforcement brutality. And Not the Bee also found itself the target of YouTube censorship after posting content about the alleged transgender shooter manifesto. Not to be outdone‚ Vimeo ironically censored a speech about censorship. Finally‚ YouTube continues to target hunting content. Below are the worst examples of censorship from the month of November. 1) Big Tech engages in alarming election-interfering censorship. A new MRC Free Speech America study found that Big Tech manipulated the message of 23 of the 2024 presidential candidates at least once. Social media companies especially targeted and harmed opponents of incumbent Democrat President Joe Biden. MRC researchers recorded a total of 169 cases of censorship against the 2024 presidential primary candidates to date in MRC’s exclusive CensorTrack.org database. A stunning total of 162 of those cases targeted Biden’s opponents. Fact-checks‚ deleted content and accounts‚ and censorship of candidates’ campaign websites are among Big Tech’s efforts to silence the online voices of those who seek to represent and lead the United States‚ from Republican candidates Donald Trump and Vivek Ramaswamy to Independent Robert F. Kennedy Jr. 2) YouTube suppresses hunting video‚ continuing longtime censorship of hunting content. Popular YouTuber Cameron Hanes uploaded a recent video to his channel titled: "San Carlos Elk Dreams at Dusk: ep 4: A Month in the Mountains.” YouTube imposed an age restriction with a notice for adults logged into an age-verified account still receiving a message that read‚ "This video may be inappropriate for some users." Users had to click a button saying‚ "I understand and wish to proceed." The video depicts elk hunting with the use of bows‚ as well as field dressing of the animal. The account has numerous other similar videos‚ none of which received an age restriction. After MRC Free Speech reached out to YouTube on Nov. 30‚ the platform removed its age restriction on the video. 3) YouTube censors Ted Cruz for highlighting MRC exposé of Gaza propaganda. YouTube was on an anti-free speech roll this month. The platform placed a controversial age restriction banner on the Nov. 14 episode of Sen. Ted Cruz’s The Verdict podcast. Cruz and co-host Ben Ferguson highlighted a study by MRC NewsBusters exposing the “Big Three” networks of ABC‚ CBS and NBC for using dubious footage from Saleh Aljafarawi. His videos have gone viral after he was accused of being a crisis actor in the Hamas-governed Gaza Strip. The videos he posted of supposed Palestinian victims have subsequently been debunked as not real‚ according to previous MRC reporting. “This video may be inappropriate for some users‚” YouTube’s warning to potential viewers read‚ asking users to log in and “confirm” their age. Even after logging in‚ viewers received the notification‚ “Viewer discretion is advised” because “The following content may contain graphic or violent imagery.” Yet the allegedly “graphic” content is fake propaganda put on by actor Aljafarawi‚ as reported by MRC. Cruz and Ferguson slammed the videos for pretending to show Gazan casualties. Aljafarawi himself has played a variety of roles‚ from a member of Hamas to a patient in a hospital.  4) YouTube targets frequently-censored host of Louder with Crowder. Steven Crowder co-hosted an episode of his show Louder with Crowder as a mashup episode with Dan Bongino's Bongino Report in one long doubleheader episode of both shows. Bongino and Crowder discussed a wide range of topics during the show‚ from the Israel-Hamas war to the manifesto of the transgender Nashville shooter and more.  “One More Strike &; We're Banned‚” Crowder announced on X (formerly Twitter) with a screenshot of an email YouTube sent to Crowder. The email asserted‚ "Per our policies‚ if you post content previously removed for violating our Terms of Service‚ content produced by creators with a current restriction‚ or content creators who have been terminated under our Terms‚ the content may be removed and your account may be penalized. Dan Bongino's channel Dan Bongino‚ was terminated from YouTube in January." The platform yanked a video on the Steven Crowder channel‚ which received its first strike and was suspended for one week. YouTube also removed a video from the CrowderBits channel‚ which received its second strike and was suspended for two weeks. YouTube has a three-strikes system‚ which removes a channel if it receives a warning and three strikes within a 90-day period. 5) X (Twitter) imposes filter on video clip of Capitol police appearing to fire grenades‚ rubber bullets into a protest crowd. Video footage of the Jan. 6‚ 2021‚ Capitol protest released by House Speaker Mike Johnson continues to trigger Big Tech‚ it seems. Human Events Senior Editor Posobiec posted a video clip on X Nov. 19 of Jan. 6 protestors being injured as Capitol police fired rubber bullets into the crowd. Posobiec commented‚ “NOW: You can watch the footage right here[.] The Capitol Police fired into a peaceful crowd. No warnings were given[.]  This is what @RaheemKassam and I have said since Day One when we saw it.” X imposed a sensitive content filter on the post‚ which requires users to adjust their settings or click through to view. 6) YouTube censors video about alleged transgender shooter manifesto. Louder with Crowder host Steven Crowder obtained several pages of the alleged manifesto of Audrey Hale‚ a biological woman who identified as a man and killed six—including children—at a Christian elementary school in March. Afterwards‚ Not the Bee‚ the sister site of The Babylon Bee‚ put together a video discussing the manifesto: "If the LEAKED Nashville Shooter Manifesto is legit‚ what does it say about censorship in the US?" Similar to what happened when Crowder posted a video about the manifesto on his own YouTube channel‚ YouTube purportedly removed the video that Not the Bee uploaded to its channel. YouTube cited its "violent criminal organizations policy" as justification for the censorship‚ according to a screenshot shared on X by Bee CEO Seth Dillon. A YouTube spokesperson asserted in response to an inquiry from MRC Free Speech America that guidelines “prohibit linking to content containing manifestos from individuals who have committed violent attacks‚ including the tragic event that took place in Nashville Tennessee in February of 2023.” The shooting itself took place in March.  7) Vimeo ironically censors speech about censorship. The Babylon Bee CEO Seth Dillon spoke at the David Horowitz Freedom Center’s Restoration Weekend. During his speech‚ Dillon discussed Big Tech’s ongoing censorship of his satire site and its fight for freedom of speech. After the David Horowitz Freedom Center (DHFC) posted Dillon’s speech on Vimeo‚ the video platform removed it and banned the Freedom Center’s channel because the video highlighted Dillon‚ according to DHFC investigative journalist and writer Daniel Greenfield. The DHFC’s channel now brings up an error message on Vimeo. The Restoration Weekend addressed many controversial topics‚ but Greenfield declared that Vimeo cited Dillon’s talk as the reason for its censorship. Specifically‚ Vimeo reportedly repeated Twitter’s former accusation of “Hate Speech.”
