World Economic Forum Backs UNESCO’s Push To Regulate Speech on Social Media‚ Pushes Its Own Toolkit “Digital Safety” Which Will Tackle “Hate Speech” and “Cyberbullying”

If you're tired of censorship and dystopian threats against civil liberties‚ subscribe to Reclaim The Net. Here’s the UN (at least those who have their ultimate say in the organization’s overall agencies’ agenda)‚ and here’s the World Economic Forum (WEF)‚ supporting that activity‚ wholeheartedly. Has something gone right this time? Spoiler: Well‚ no. But do read on – because knowledge‚ and context‚ are truly important. The educated guess is – there will be many more of these instances of social media censorship schemes coming down this particular pike. And what better than to recognize them for what they are‚ as they do come. There’s this: UNESCO (that’s the UN agency that used to basically sell you Christmas/New Year postcards to help children in distress‚ suddenly‚ waking up to “misinformation”) – and now directly supported by WEF. What a shocker. WEF is glad that – UNESCO‚ of all agencies‚ has come up with what it calls the “internet of trust.” And the informal globalist Switzerland-based group (WEF‚ though) is also happy to reiterate what those “guidelines” are. WEF is a flagship global‚ elitist outfit with no apparent qualms leading with the devastating fact that more people on this planet have access to the internet (“social media”)‚ that to say‚ a car. But this is not seen as a problem. Merely an opportunity to subjugate (or kick down) those already in distress. So you don’t have a car? You can’t afford a home‚ perhaps? But you do have a phone. Now let WEF tell you what you should think. That’s pretty much the gist of this entire “elaborate” article. While you may be in a country with decidedly few real rights and/or opportunities‚ WEF assures you that if only you – about 4.75 billion people on this Earth – could find some “trusted” (“guaranteed” by elites) way to inform and “protect yourself from misinformation‚ disinformation.” Well. “If we can no longer distinguish fiction from reality‚ falsehood from truth‚ the foundations of our societies crumble. Democracy‚ dialogue and debate – all essential to address major contemporary challenges – become impossible‚” UNESCO says – quotes WEF. And some might say – why in the world did UNESCO go that ostentatious rout of stating the horrible truth‚ that involves UN‚ and WEF? Who knows. But WEF has this: A toolkit for “digital safety.” Tell us‚ WEF. You‚ who do‚ habitually‚ take “ordinary people” for fools. “Digital platforms need reporting mechanisms to log policy violations‚ but given the global nature of their operations‚ they also need to ensure these mechanisms take into account local cultural sensitivities in the way complaints are handled” – said WEF. PBS Swipes at GOP’s ‘Anger Caucus’ and ‘Dehumanizing’ Mike Johnson

The antipathy most inside-the-Beltway journalists have for conservatives was on display on Friday’s Washington Week on PBS. Viewers heard how the Republicans’ “anger caucus” was “willing to blow things up” in Washington‚ while new Speaker Mike Johnson was a “deeply‚ deeply religious conservative” who has “dehumanized the LGBTQ population in this country.” There was no debate about any of these insulting characterizations; rather‚ the journalists who volunteered them acted as if they were objectively explaining political reality. First‚ fill-in host Lisa Desjardins recalled how last week regular moderator‚ The Atlantic’s Jeffrey Goldberg‚ had lampooned Republicans who favor spending restraint as “the anger caucus.” Desjardins was evidently so tickled by the label‚ so she employed it when asking USA Today’s Susan Page to explain how difficult it is to work constructively with House conservatives. Page responded by talking about “this group of Republicans who are very conservative — not just conservative‚ but willing to blow things up....It goes back  1994 and Newt Gingrich winning control of the House of Representatives for the first time in decades.” “The dilemma for the Republican leaders‚” Page continued‚ “is that their highest priority is not what most of Washington thinks of as the fundamentals of government like keeping the government doors open.” Later on‚ Desjardins asked New York Times White House correspondent Carl Hulse about Speaker Johnson’s Christian views on social issues. “In the past he has dehumanized the LGBTQ population in this country‚” she asserted without evidence‚ asking “should we expect him to go back to that kind of Mike Johnson?” [Last month‚ an MRC study found PBS’s NewsHour‚ where Desjardins is a lead correspondent‚ tilted 90% against religious conservatives when it came to “LGBT issues.”] “I think that he is trying to steer clear of it right now‚ but this is clearly who he is‚” Hulse replied. “He is a deeply‚ deeply religious conservative. And I think he’s going to have a hard time not discussing this at some point.” Here are longer transcripts of those exchanges (click expand): # PBS’s Washington Week with The Atlantic November 24‚ 2023 Fill-in host LISA DESJARDINS: We heard the word “concessions” there. But [The Atlantic’s] Jeffrey [Goldberg] called it last week “the anger caucus‚” the Republicans. How does Mike Johnson deal with that “anger caucus‚” and I especially want to ask you about the roots of that. The Freedom Caucus is relatively new‚ but where does this go back to‚ and how does that help Johnson in facing it? USA Today’s SUSAN PAGE: You know‚ I think this group of Republicans who are very conservative — not just conservative‚ but willing to blow things up‚ not so interested in governing‚ more interested in making a point. It goes back  1994 and Newt Gingrich winning control of the House of Representatives for the first time in decades. And since then we’ve seen different iterations of this group‚ with the Tea Party and now with the Freedom Caucus. But the dilemma for the Republican leaders is that their highest priority is not what most of Washington thinks of as the fundamentals of government like keeping the government doors open. Their fundamentals are more making a political point regardless of the cost. ... LISA DESJARDINS: I do notice that in all this discussion — immigration‚ many divides‚ talking about Israel‚ talking about Ukraine‚ talking about spending — Speaker Mike Johnson‚ Carl‚ I noticed has not talked about abortion. He hasn’t talked about social issues like LGBTQ and — talking about dehumanizing‚ in the past he has dehumanized the LGBTQ population in this country. Is this something as Speaker that he’s just putting off? Do you think — is he deciding‚ pragmatically‚ he shouldn’t be talking about it? Should we expect him to go back to that kind of Mike Johnson? New York Times’s CARL HULSE: I think one thing that’s occurred is‚ I don’t think they had any expectation about how deep people were going to go into his record‚ and I’ve heard this from people around him. They’re just surprised‚ but everyone has found all these things he has said‚ and then he says “Well‚ I don’t even remember saying some of those things.” Well‚ unfortunately for him‚ he said them on tape — DESJARDINS: And in op-eds! HULSE: Right‚ and on paper. I think that he is trying to steer clear of it right now‚ but this is clearly who he is. He is a deeply‚ deeply religious conservative. And I think he’s going to have a hard time not discussing this at some point. But abortion as we saw in the elections here earlier this month is just a big issue for Democrats. And how he handles this is going to be a big part of his persona going forward.

Study finds overturning Roe v. Wade resulted in 32‚000 more births: Report

Since Roe v. Wade was overturned in June 2022‚ around 32‚000 babies have been born that would have otherwise been aborted‚ according to a new study. The New York Times reported that by comparing birth statistics in states before and after the Supreme Court banned abortions‚ researchers discovered that the law caused around 32‚000 annual births. The data is based on just the first six months of 2023 and was in line with initial expectations. However‚ various studies have demonstrated that many women who live in states with an abortion ban still carry out abortions. These women will either travel to states where abortion is still legal‚ or they will purchase pills online‚ according to the report. The Times noted the one data point that cannot be known for certain is how many women have not carried out abortions during that same time period. The analysis‚ carried out by the Institute of Labor Economics‚ claimed that in the first six months of the year‚ between one-fourth and one-fifth of women who live in states with bans‚ who would otherwise have sought out an abortion‚ did not get one."Our primary analysis indicates that in the first six months of 2023‚ births rose by an average of 2.3 percent in states enforcing total abortion bans compared to a control group of states where abortion rights remained protected‚ amounting to approximately 32‚000 additional annual births resulting from abortion bans‚" the study says.Fox News Digital reported that the three researchers who carried out the study said the shift represented the "most profound transformation of the landscape of U.S. abortion access in 50 years‚" based on births data from the U.S. Centers for Disease Control. The student continued: "As of November 1‚ 2023‚ 14 states are enforcing bans on abortion in nearly all circumstances‚ and 23 percent of U.S. women of reproductive age have experienced an increase in driving distance to the nearest abortion facility‚ from an average of 43 miles one-way before Dobbs to 330 miles at present."Alison Gemmill‚ who is an assistant professor at the Johns Hopkins Bloomberg School of Public Health‚ shared with CNN that the new numbers should raise alarm about "reproductive harmony.""We don’t always detect signals in these population aggregates because there’s a lot of variation when you group everybody together‚" Gemmill said. "The fact that there is a signal at the population level means that something’s really going on."Additionally‚ the three researchers who carried out the study said there is evidence to support the position that "diminished abortion access poses a risk to the health and financial stability of this vulnerable population."The study claimed: "In 2020‚ approximately 1 in 5 pregnancies ended in abortion.""At the time they seek abortions‚ 75 percent of patients are low-income‚ 59 percent have previously given birth‚ and 55 percent report a recent disruptive life event such as falling behind on the rent or losing a job."Like Blaze News? 'Radical queer' rabbi becomes the darling of the Squad and other critics of Israel

A so-called "radical queer" rabbi has apparently found favor with members of the Squad and left-leaning media for her overt anti-Zionism. Critics have referred to her as "pathetic" and wishing to appease enemies so as not to be the target of attacks.Rabbi Jessica Rosenberg has garnered a name for herself by interrupting a fundraiser for President Joe Biden‚ demanding that a ceasefire take place in the Middle East. She has also published an op-ed for CNN and appeared on the network for an interview‚ according to the New York Post. Rosenberg also sat down with Rep. Ilan Omar to talk about issues. Omar posted to X about the meet on November 16‚ writing: "I was honored to meet with Rabbi Jessica Rosenberg‚ a proud Minnesotan." — (@) "In our powerful conversation‚ we agreed that true peace can only happen when the current violence ends. I sincerely pray for an immediate ceasefire and the safe return of all hostages."Omar has come under fire for condemning Israel's response to Hamas' attacks against the Jewish state on October 7‚ when 1‚200 people were killed in southern Israel. Since then‚ Israel has carried out ground attacks in Gaza‚ with the mission of eliminating Hamas terrorists. There are a number of people within the Jewish community who have taken issue with Rosenberg's tactics. Mort Klein‚ President of the Zionist Organization of America‚ said that "[e]xtremist Jews like Rosenberg‚ are truly the most pathetic and frightened of all the Jews.” “Their positions of appeasement … they believe this will protect them from our enemies physically harming us. This is fear‚ this is not an ideology.”Rosenberg first came to prominence on November 1‚ when she apparently interrupted a fundraiser for Biden to demand a ceasefire in the Middle East. The Star Tribune reported that though Rosenberg was met with demands to sit down during the Democratic fundraiser‚ the rabbi said that she tuned it all out and reflected on the growing number of Gazans who have been killed in the conflict."I have never felt more clear in my role as a rabbi‚ or in my life as a Jew‚ than singing‚ 'cease-fire now‚' in a room where the president can hear me‚" Rosenberg said. The opportunity to shout at Biden came with a heavy price tag‚ as Rosenberg reportedly purchased a ticket to the event for $1‚000. During the fundraiser‚ she said: "As a rabbi I need you to call for a cease-fire right now."Rosenberg also made an appearance on CNN‚ insisting that people should not feel obligated to support Israel if they wished to stand with Jewish people.“I want to say I know there are many non-jews who believe that supporting Israel in this war is how to stand in solidarity with Jews‚” Rosenberg said. “I want to say that ending antisemisim in all the places that Jews live‚ that is how you stand in solidarity with Jews.” Like Blaze News? TABS and Clustertruck dev announces super-fast new indie game on Steam

When it comes to the most fun indie games on Steam‚ Swedish developer Landfall Games has to be in the conversation. Its 2016 high-speed vehicle platformer Clustertruck still holds a 93% Steam rating‚ but even that pales compared to the near-flawless 98% user score held by TABS: Totally Accurate Battle Simulator‚ the delightful physics-based combat sandbox game from 2021. So what’s next for Landfall? The answer is Haste: Broken Worlds‚ a high-octane platformer about running‚ jumping‚ and gliding really fast‚ and it already looks extremely good.
